Modular class of Lie $\infty$-algebroids and adjoint representation

We study the modular class of $Q$-manifolds, and in particular of negatively graded Lie $\infty$-algebroid. We show the equivalence of several descriptions of those classes, that it matches the classes introduced by various authors and that the notion is homotopy invariant. In the process, the adjoint and coadjoint actions up to homotopy of a Lie $\infty$-algebroid are spelled out. We also wrote down explicitly some dualities, e.g. between representations up to homotopies of Lie $\infty$-algebroids and their $Q$-manifold equivalent, which we hope to be of use for future reference.

Invariant connections and PBW theorem for Lie groupoid pairs

To a closed wide Lie subgroupoid $\mathbf{A}$ of a Lie groupoid $\mathbf{L}$, i.e. a Lie groupoid pair, we associate an Atiyah class which we interpret as the obstruction to the existence of $\mathbf{L}$-invariant fibrewise affine connections on the homogeneous space $\mathbf{L}/\mathbf{A}$. For Lie groupoid pairs with vanishing Atiyah class, we show that the left $\mathbf{A}$-action on the quotient space $\mathbf{L}/\mathbf{A}$ can be linearized. In addition to giving an alternative proof of a result of Calaque about the Poincare-Birkhoff-Witt map for Lie algebroid pairs with vanishing Atiyah class, this result specializes to a necessary and sufficient condition for the linearization of dressing actions, and gives a clear interpretation of the Molino class as an obstruction to the simultaneous linearization of all the monodromies. In the course of the paper, a general theory of connections on Lie groupoid equivariant principal bundles is developed.

The universal Lie $\infty$-algebroid of a singular foliation

We associate a Lie $\infty$-algebroid to every resolution of a singular foliation, where we consider a singular foliation as a locally generated $\mathscr{O}$-submodule of vector fields on the underlying manifold closed under Lie bracket. Here $\mathscr{O}$ can be the ring of smooth, holomorphic, or real analytic functions. The choices entering the construction of this Lie $\infty$-algebroid, including the chosen underlying resolution, are unique up to homotopy and, moreover, every other Lie $\infty$-algebroid inducing the same foliation or any of its sub-foliations factorizes through it in an up-to-homotopy unique manner. We thus call it the universal Lie $\infty$-algebroid of the singular foliation. For real analytic or holomorphic singular foliations, it can be chosen, locally, to be a Lie $n$-algebroid for some finite $n$. We show that this universal structure encodes several aspects of the geometry of the leaves of a singular foliation. In particular, it contains the holonomy algebroid and groupoid of a leaf in the sense of Androulidakis and Skandalis. But even more, each leaf carries an isotropy $L_\infty$-algebra structure that is unique up to isomorphism. It extends a minimal isotropy Lie algebra, that can be associated to each leaf, by higher brackets, which give rise to additional invariants of the foliation. As a byproduct, we construct an example of a foliation generated by $r$ vector fields for which we show by these techniques that it cannot be generated by the image through the anchor map of a Lie algebroid of the minimal rank $r$.

A cohomological framework for homotopy moment maps

Given a Lie group acting on a manifold $M$ preserving a closed $n+1$-form $ω$, the notion of homotopy moment map for this action was introduced in Callies-Fregier-Rogers-Zambon [6], in terms of $L_{\infty}$-algebra morphisms. In this note we describe homotopy moment maps as coboundaries of a certain complex. This description simplifies greatly computations, and we use it to study various properties of homotopy moment maps: their relation to equivariant cohomology, their obstruction theory, how they induce new ones on mapping spaces, and their equivalences. The results we obtain extend some of the results of [6].

Cotangent paths as coisotropic subsets for local functions

We establish a local function version of a classical result claiming that a bivector field on a manifold $M$ is Poisson if and only if cotangent paths form a coisotropic set of the infinite dimensional symplectic manifold of paths valued in $T^*M$. Our purpose here is to prove this result without using the Banach manifold setting, setting which fails in the periodic case because cotangent loops do not form a Banach sub-manifold. Instead, we use local functions on the path space, a point of view that allows to speak of a coisotropic set.

Global Action-Angle Variables for Non-Commutative Integrable Systems

In this paper we analyze the obstructions to the existence of global action-angle variables for regular non-commutative integrable systems (NCI systems) on Poisson manifolds. In contrast with local action-angle variables, which exist as soon as the fibers of the momentum map of such an integrable system are compact, global action-angle variables rarely exist. This fact was first observed and analyzed by Duistermaat in the case of Liouville integrable systems on symplectic manifolds and later by Dazord-Delzant in the case of non-commutative integrable systems on symplectic manifolds. In our more general case where phase space is an arbitrary Poisson manifold, there are more obstructions, as we will show both abstractly and on concrete examples. Our approach makes use of a few new features which we introduce: the action bundle and the action lattice bundle of the NCI system (these bundles are canonically defined) and three foliations (the action, angle and transverse foliation), whose existence is also subject to obstructions, often of a cohomological nature.

Lie rackoids

We define a new differential geometric structure, called Lie rackoid. It relates to Leibniz algebroids exactly as Lie groupoids relate to Lie algebroids. Its main ingredient is a selfdistributive product on the manifold of bisections of a smooth precategory. We show that the tangent algebroid of a Lie rackoid is a Leibniz algebroid and that Lie groupoids gives rise via conjugation to a Lie rackoid. Our main objective are large classes of examples, including a Lie rackoid integrating the Dorfman bracket without the cocycle term of the standard Courant algebroid.

Forme semi-locale des feuilletages legendriens

We describe a semi-local canonical form for Legendrian foliations on contact manifolds in the neighbourhood of a Legendrian submanifold. This result generalizes local results by Libermann and Pang on Legendrian foliations on contact manifolds, and is analogeous to a semi-local result by Weinstein in the symplectic case. For the proof, we introduce and use a class of cohomology that obstructs the possibility to make a Legendrian foliation flat.

Coupling symmetries with Poisson structures

We study local normal forms for completely integrable systems on Poisson manifolds in the presence of additional symmetries. The symmetries that we consider are encoded in actions of compact Lie groups. The existence of Weinstein's splitting theorem for the integrable system is also studied giving some examples in which such a splitting does not exist, i.e. when the integrable system is not, locally, a product of an integrable system on the symplectic leaf and an integrable system on a transversal. The problem of splitting for integrable systems with additional symmetries is also considered.

Hierarchies and compatibility on Courant algebroids

We extend to the context of Courant algebroids several hierarchies that can be constructed on Poisson-Nijenhuis manifolds. More precisely, we introduce several notions (Poisson-Nijenhuis, deformation-Nijenhuis and Nijenhuis pairs) that extend to Courant algebroids the notion of a Poisson-Nijenhuis manifold, by using the idea that both the Poisson and the Nijenhuis structures, although they seem to be different in nature when considered on manifolds, are just $(1,1)$-tensors on the usual Courant algebroid $TM \oplus T^*M $ satisfying several constraints. For each of the generalizations mentioned, we show that there are natural hierarchies obtained by successive deformation by one of the $(1,1)$-tensor.

Jacobi structures in supergeometric formalism

We use the supergeometric formalism, more precisely, the so-called "big bracket" (for which brackets and anchors are encoded by functions on some graded symplectic manifold) to address the theory of Jacobi algebroids and bialgebroids (following mainly Iglesias-Marrero and Grabowski-Marmo as a guideline). This formalism is in particular efficient to define the Jacobi-Gerstenhaber algebra structure associated to a Jacobi algebroid, to define its Poissonization, and to express the compatibility condition defining Jacobi bialgebroids. Also, we claim that this supergeometric language gives a simple description of the Jacobi bialgebroid associated to Jacobi structures, and conversely, of the Jacobi structure associated to Jacobi bialgebroid.

Action-angle coordinates for integrable systems on Poisson manifolds

We prove the action-angle theorem in the general, and most natural, context of integrable systems on Poisson manifolds, thereby generalizing the classical proof, which is given in the context of symplectic manifolds. The topological part of the proof parallels the proof of the symplectic case, but the rest of the proof is quite different, since we are naturally led to using the calculus of polyvector fields, rather than differential forms; in particular, we use in the end a Poisson version of the classical Caratheodory-Jacobi-Lie theorem, which we also prove. At the end of the article, we generalize the action-angle theorem to the setting of non-commutative integrable systems on Poisson manifolds.

Integration of Holomorphic Lie Algebroids

We prove that a holomorphic Lie algebroid is integrable if, and only if, its underlying real Lie algebroid is integrable. Thus the integrability criteria of Crainic-Fernandes do also apply in the holomorphic context without any modification. As a consequence we give another proof of the following theorem: a holomorphic Poisson manifold is integrable if, and only if, its real (or imaginary) part is integrable as a real Poisson manifold.
