Amplitude analysis and branching fraction measurement of $J/ψ\to Λ\barΣ^0η+\mathrm{c.c}$

Based on a sample of $(10087\pm44)\times10^{6}$ $J/ψ$ events collected with the BESIII detector, a partial-wave analysis of $ J/ψ\to Λ\bar{ Σ}^0η+\mathrm{c.c} $ is performed for the first time. The dominant contributions are found to be excited $Λ$ states with $J^P=1/2^-$ and $J^P=1/2^+$ in the $ηΛ$ mass spectra. The measured masses and widths are $M=1668.8\pm3.1\pm21.2$ MeV/$c^2$ and $Γ=52.7\pm4.2\pm17.8$ MeV for the $Λ(1670)$, and $M=1881.5\pm16.5\pm20.3$ MeV/$c^2$ and $Γ=82.4\pm18.2\pm8.9$ MeV for the $Λ(1810)$, respectively. The branching fraction is determined to be $ \mathcal{B}(J/ψ\to Λ\bar{ Σ}^0η+\mathrm{c.c}) $ = $(3.44 \pm 0.11 \pm 0.13) \times 10^{-5}$. The first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic.

Cross section measurement of $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrow π^{0}π^{0}ψ(3686)$ from $\sqrt{s}=$ 4.008 GeV to 4.951 GeV

Using data samples with a total integrated luminosity of $22.1~\rm fb^{-1}$ at center-of-mass energies between 4.008 and 4.951~GeV collected with the BESIII detector, the cross sections of $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrow π^{0}π^{0}ψ(3686)$ process are measured. The obtained cross sections are found to be approximately one-half of those of $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrow π^{+}π^{-}ψ(3686)$, consistent with the isospin symmetry expectation. A coherent fit to the dressed cross sections is performed, with the $Y(4230)$~parameters fixed at the values measured in $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrow π^{+}π^{-}ψ(3686)$. The significances of the $Y(4390)$ and $Y(4660)$ are both larger than $5σ$, and their masses and widths are consistent with the previous measurement in the $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrow π^{+}π^{-}ψ(3686)$ process.

First Measurement of the Absolute Branching Fraction of $η_c \to γγ$

We apply a tag-and-probe method to precisely measure the absolute branching fraction of the decay $η_c \to γγ$ with the BESIII experiment at BEPCII. Starting with a large initial sample of $2712.4\pm 14.3$ million $ψ(3686)$ events, a sample of 0.16 million $η_c$ events are tagged via the golden channel $ψ(3686)\to π^0 h_c$, $h_c\to γη_c$, effectively avoiding interference effects. The absolute branching fraction of $η_c \to γγ$ is measured for the first time to be $\mathcal{B}(η_c \to γγ) = (2.45 \pm 0.48_{\rm stat.} \pm 0.09_{\rm syst.}) \times 10^{-4}$. Using the world average value of the total width of the $η_c$, the partial decay width of $η_c \to γγ$ is calculated to be $Γ(η_c \to γγ) = (7.48 \pm 1.48_{\rm stat.} \pm 0.30_{\rm syst.})~{\rm keV}$.

First Observation of $D^{0(+)}\to \bar Kωe^+ν_e$ and Determination of the Branching Fraction of $\bar K_1(1270)\to \bar K ω$

Using 20.3~fb$^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ annihilation data collected at a center-of-mass energy of 3.773~GeV with the BESIII detector, we report the first observation of the semileptonic decays $D^0\to K^-ωe^+ν_e$ and $D^+\to K_S^0ωe^+ν_e$ with significances of $8.0σ$ and $5.8σ$, respectively, including systematic uncertainties. Their decay branching fractions are measured to be ${\cal B}(D^0\to K^-ωe^+ν_e)=(9.3^{+2.1}_{-1.9}\pm 0.7)\times10^{-5}$ and ${\cal B}(D^+\to K_S^0ωe^+ν_e)=(6.6^{+2.0}_{-1.8}\pm 0.6)\times10^{-5}$. Combining with the latest measurements of $D^{0(+)}\to K^-π^+π^{-(0)} e^+ν_e$ and assuming $\bar{K}_1(1270)$ to be the sole mediating resonance in all processes, the branching ratios are determined to be $\frac{Γ(K_1(1270)^-\to K^-π^+π^-)}{Γ(K_1(1270)^-\to K^-ω)} = 3.4^{+0.8}_{-0.7} \pm 0.3$ and $\frac{Γ(\bar{K}_1(1270)^0\to K^-π^+π^0)}{Γ(\bar{K}_1(1270)^0\to \bar{K}^0ω)} = 9.6^{+3.0}_{-2.7} \pm 0.8$. The combined branching fraction is determined to be $\mathcal B(\bar{K}_1(1270)\to \bar{K}ω) = (7.5\pm 1.3 \pm 0.5)\%$, which is the most precise measurement from a collider experiment. The first uncertainties are statistical, and the second are systematic.

Measurements of the absolute branching fractions of the $Λ_{c}^{+}$ hadronic decays

Based on 4.5 fb$^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ collision data collected at center-of-mass energies between 4599.53 MeV and 4698.82 MeV with the BESIII detector, the absolute branching fractions of twelve $Λ_{c}^{+}$ hadronic decay modes are measured with a double-tag technique. A global least-square fit is implemented simultaneously among different decay modes at different energy points. This paper gives the most precise results on the branching fractions of different decay modes to date, with precision improved by a factor of 2 to 3. Among them, the branching fraction of $Λ_{c}^{+}\to pK^{-}π^+$ is determined to be $(6.61\pm0.11\pm0.12)\%$, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. In addition, the $e^+e^-\toΛ_c^+\barΛ_c^-$ Born cross sections and the effective form factors ($|G_{\rm eff}|$) at different energy points have been determined with the highest precision to date.

The branching fractions of these decays are measured for the first time, and the statistical significance for each signal exceeds $10σ$.

Using the data sample of $2.7\times10^9$ $ψ(3686)$ events collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, we present an observation of the $Ξ(1530)^0$ polarization in the decay $ψ(3686)\toΞ(1530)^0\barΞ(1530)^0$ with a significance larger than $20σ$ compared with all other tested hypotheses. The helicity amplitudes for the process $ψ(3686)\toΞ(1530)^0\barΞ(1530)^0$ and the moduli of form factors including electric charge, magnetic dipole, electric quadrupole, and magnetic octupole are measured for the first time by performing an angular distribution analysis. Additionally, the polarization correlations between $Ξ(1530)^0$ and $\barΞ(1530)^0$ are measured.

Search for a dark baryon in the $Ξ^-\rightarrowπ^-+{\rm invisible}$ decay

A search for a dark baryon is performed for the first time in the two-body decay $Ξ^-\rightarrowπ^-+{\rm invisible}$ using $(10.087\pm0.044)\times10^{9}$ $J/ψ$ events collected at a center-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s}=3.097\,\mbox{GeV}$ with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider. No significant signal is observed, and the 90% (95%) confidence level upper limits on the branching fraction $B(Ξ^-\rightarrowπ^-+{\rm invisible})$ are determined to be $4.2\times10^{-5}$ ($5.2\times10^{-5}$), $6.9\times10^{-5}$ ($8.4\times10^{-5}$), $6.5\times10^{-4}$ ($7.6\times10^{-4}$), $1.1\times10^{-4}$ ($1.3\times10^{-4}$) and $4.5\times10^{-5}$ ($5.5\times10^{-5}$), under the dark baryon mass hypotheses of 1.07$\,\mbox{GeV}/c^2$, 1.10$\,\mbox{GeV}/c^2$, $m_Λ$ (1.116$\,\mbox{GeV}/c^2$), 1.13$\,\mbox{GeV}/c^2$, and 1.16$\,\mbox{GeV}/c^2$, respectively. The constraints obtained on the Wilson coefficients $C_{u s, s}^L$ and $C_{u s, s}^R$ are more stringent than the previous limits derived from the LHC searches for the colored mediators.

Measurement of branching fractions of $Λ_{c}^{+}$ decays to $Σ^{+} η$ and $Σ^{+} η'$

By analyzing $e^+e^-$ collision data taken at center-of-mass energies $\sqrt{s}$ between 4.600 and 4.699 GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $\rm 4.5~fb^{-1}$, we study the hadronic decays $Λ_{c}^{+} \rightarrow Σ^{+} η$ and $Λ_{c}^{+} \rightarrow Σ^{+} η^{\prime}$ using the single-tag method. The branching fraction ratio of $Λ_{c}^+ \rightarrow Σ^+ η$ relative to $Λ_{c}^+ \rightarrow Σ^+ π^0$ is determined to be $0.305 \pm 0.046_{\rm stat.} \pm 0.007_{\rm syst.}$, and that of $Λ_{c}^+ \rightarrow Σ^+ η'$ relative to $Λ_{c}^+ \rightarrow Σ^+ ω$ is $0.336 \pm 0.094_{\rm stat.} \pm 0.037_{\rm syst.}$. The ratio of $\frac{\mathcal{B}\left(Λ_{c}^{+} \rightarrow Σ^{+} η'\right)}{\mathcal{B}\left(Λ_{c}^{+} \rightarrow Σ^{+} η\right)} $ is determined to be $1.73 \pm 0.22_{\rm stat.} \pm 0.16_{\rm syst.}$. These results enrich our knowledge of charmed baryon decays.

Investigation of the $ΔI = 1/2$ rule and test of CP violation through the measurement of decay asymmetry parameters in $Ξ^-$ decays

Using $(10087\pm44)\times 10^{6}$ $J/ψ$ events collected with the BESIII detector, numerous $Ξ^-$ and $Λ$ decay asymmetry parameters are simultaneously determined from the process $J/ψ\to Ξ^- \barΞ^+ \to Λ(pπ^-) π^- \barΛ(\bar{n} π^0) π^+$ and its charge-conjugate channel. The precisions of $α_0$ for $Λ\to nπ^0$ and $\barα_0$ for $\barΛ \to \bar{n}π^0$ compared to world averages are improved by factors of 4 and 1.7, respectively. The ratio of decay asymmetry parameters of $Λ\to nπ^0$ to that of $Λ\to pπ^-$, $\langle α_0 \rangle/ \langle α_{Λ-} \rangle $, is determined to be $ 0.873 \pm 0.012^{+0.011}_{-0.010}$, where the first and the second uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. The ratio is smaller than unity more than $5σ$, which signifies the existence of the $ΔI = 3/2$ transition in $Λ$ for the first time. Beside, we test for CP violation in $Ξ^- \to Λπ^-$ and in $Λ\to n π^{0}$ with the best precision to date.

Search for hidden-charm tetraquark with strangeness in $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrow K^+ D_{s}^{*-} D^{*0}+c.c.$

We report a search for a heavier partner of the recently observed $Z_{cs}(3985)^{-}$ state, denoted as $Z_{cs}^{\prime -}$, in the process $e^{+} e^{-}\rightarrow K^{+}D_{s}^{*-}D^{* 0}+c.c.$, based on $e^+e^-$ collision data collected at the center-of-mass energies of $\sqrt{s}=4.661$, 4.682 and 4.699 GeV with the BESIII detector. The $Z_{cs}^{\prime -}$ is of interest as it is expected to be a candidate for a hidden-charm and open-strange tetraquark. A partial-reconstruction technique is used to isolate $K^+$ recoil-mass spectra, which are probed for a potential contribution from $Z_{cs}^{\prime -}\to D_{s}^{*-}D^{* 0}$ ($c.c.$). We find an excess of $Z_{cs}^{\prime -}\rightarrow D_{s}^{*-}D^{*0}$ ($c.c.$) candidates with a significance of $2.1σ$, after considering systematic uncertainties, at a mass of $(4123.5\pm0.7_\mathrm{stat.}\pm4.7_\mathrm{syst.})\ \mathrm{MeV}/c^{2}$. As the data set is limited in size, the upper limits are evaluated at the 90\% confidence level on the product of the Born cross sections ($σ^{\mathrm{Born}}$) and the branching fraction ($\mathcal{B}$) of $Z_{cs}^{\prime-}\rightarrow D_{s}^{*-}D^{* 0}$, under different assumptions of the $Z_{cs}^{\prime -}$ mass from 4.120 to 4.140 MeV and of the width from 10 to 50 MeV at the three center-of-mass energies. The upper limits of $σ^{\rm Born}\cdot\mathcal{B}$ are found to be at the level of $\mathcal{O}(1)$ pb at each energy. Larger data samples are needed to confirm the $Z_{cs}^{\prime -}$ state and clarify its nature in the coming years.

Amplitude analysis and branching fraction measurement of the decay $D_{s}^{+} \to K^+π^+π^-$

Using $6.32$ fb$^{-1}$ of $e^{+}e^{-}$ collision data collected at the center-of-mass energies between 4.178 and 4.226 GeV with the BESIII detector, we perform an amplitude analysis of the decay $D^+_s \to K^+π^+π^-$ and determine the amplitudes of the various intermediate states. The absolute branching fraction of $D^+_s\to K^+π^+π^-$ is measured to be ($6.11\pm0.18_{\rm stat.}\pm0.11_{\rm syst.})\times 10^{-3}$. The branching fractions of the dominant intermediate processes $D_{s}^{+} \to K^+ρ^0, ρ^0 \to π^+π^-$ and $D_{s}^{+} \to K^*(892)^0π^+, K^*(892)^0 \to K^+π^-$ are determined to be $(1.96\pm0.19_{\rm stat.}\pm0.23_{\rm syst.})\times 10^{-3}$ and $(1.85\pm0.12_{\rm stat.}\pm0.13_{\rm syst.})\times 10^{-3}$, respectively. The intermediate resonances $f_0(500)$, $f_0(980)$, and $f_0(1370)$ are observed for the first time in this channel.

Amplitude analysis and branching-fraction measurement of $D_{s}^{+} \to π^{+}π^{0}η^{\prime}$

Using data collected with the BESIII detector in $e^+e^-$ collisions at center-of-mass energies between 4.178 and 4.226 GeV and corresponding to 6.32~fb$^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity, we report the amplitude analysis and branching-fraction measurement of the $D^+_s \to π^+ π^0 η^{\prime}$ decay. We find that the dominant intermediate process is $D^+_s \toρ^+ η^{\prime}$ and the significances of other resonant and nonresonant processes are all less than $3σ$. The upper limits on the branching fractions of $S$-wave and $P$-wave nonresonant components are set to $0.10\%$ and $0.74\%$ at the $90\%$ confidence level, respectively. In addition, the branching fraction of the $D^+_s \to π^+ π^0 η^{\prime}$ decay is measured to be $(6.15\pm0.25(\rm stat.)\pm0.18(\rm syst.))\%$, which receives significant contribution only from $D_s^+\to ρ^+η^{\prime}$ according to the amplitude analysis.

Cross section measurements of the processes $e^+e^- \rightarrow ωπ^{0}$ and $ωη$ at center-of-mass energies between 3.773 and 4.701 GeV

The Born cross sections of the processes $e^+e^- \rightarrow ωπ^{0}$ and $e^+e^- \rightarrow ωη$ are measured at center-of-mass energies between 3.773 and 4.701 GeV using a total integrated luminosity of 22.7 fb$^{-1}$ collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII collider. A simple $s^{-n}$ dependence for the continuum process can describe the measured Born cross sections. No significant contributions from the $ψ(4160)$, $Y(4230)$, $Y(4360)$, $ψ(4415)$, $Y(4660)$ resonances are found, which indicates relative small branching fractions for these resonances into the $ωπ^{0}$ and $ωη$ final states.

First Observation of the Semileptonic Decay $Λ_c^+\rightarrow pK^- e^+ν_e$

Using $4.5~\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ annihilation data samples collected at the center-of-mass energies ranging from 4.600~GeV to 4.699~GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, a first study of the semileptonic decays $Λ_c^+\rightarrow pK^-e^+ν_e$, $Λ_c^+\rightarrow Λ(1520) e^+ν_e$ and $Λ_c^+\rightarrow Λ(1405) e^+ν_e$ is performed. The $Λ_c^+\rightarrow pK^-e^+ν_e$ decay is observed with a significance of $8.2σ$ and the branching fraction is measured to be $\mathcal{B}(Λ_c^+\rightarrow pK^- e^+ν_e)=(0.88\pm0.17_{\rm stat.}\pm0.07_{\rm syst.})\times 10^{-3}$. We also report evidence of $Λ_c^+\rightarrow Λ(1520)e^+ν_e$ and $Λ_c^+\rightarrow Λ(1405)e^+ν_e$ with significances of $3.3σ$ and $3.2σ$, respectively, and measure $\mathcal B(Λ^+_c\rightarrow Λ(1520)e^+ν_e)=(1.02\pm0.52_{\rm stat.}\pm0.11_{\rm syst.})\times10^{-3}$ and $\mathcal B(Λ^+_c\rightarrow Λ(1405)[\rightarrow pK^-]e^+ν_e)=(0.42\pm0.19_{\rm stat.}\pm0.04_{\rm syst.})\times10^{-3}$. Combining these with the inclusive semileptonic $Λ_c^+$ branching fraction measured by BESIII, the relative fraction is determined to be $[\mathcal{B}(Λ_c^+\rightarrow pK^-e^+ν_e)/\mathcal{B}(Λ_c^+\rightarrow X e^+ν_e)]=(2.1\pm0.4_{\rm stat.}\pm0.2_{\rm syst.})\%$, which provides a clear confirmation that semileptonic $Λ_c^+$ decays are not saturated by the $Λ\ell^+ν_{\ell}$ final state.

Measurement of $e^{+}e^{-} \to K^{+}K^{-}π^{0}$ cross section and observation of a resonant structure

Based on $e^{+}e^{-}$ collision data collected by the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider at center-of-mass energies from 2.000 to 3.080 GeV, a partial-wave analysis is performed for the process $e^{+}e^{-} \to K^{+}K^{-}π^{0}$. The Born cross section of the process $e^{+}e^{-} \to K^{+}K^{-}π^{0}$ and its subprocesses $e^{+}e^{-} \to ϕπ^{0}$, $K^{*}(892)K$ and $K^{*}_{2}(1430)K$ are measured. The results for $e^{+}e^{-} \to K^{+}K^{-}π^{0}$ and $ϕπ^{0}$ are consistent with the BaBar measurements and with improved precision. By analyzing the cross section, of the subprocesses $e^{+}e^{-} \to$ $K^{*}(892)K$ and $K^{*}_{2}(1430)K$, a structure with mass $M_R$ = (2208 $\pm$ 19 $\pm$ 24) MeV/$c^{2}$ and width $Γ_R$ = (168 $\pm$ 24 $\pm$ 39) MeV is observed with a combined statistical significance of 7.6$σ$. The measured resonance parameters suggest it can be identified as the $ϕ(2170)$, thus the results provide valuable input to understand the internal nature of this state.

Measurement of $Λ$ baryon polarization in $e^+e^-\rightarrowΛ\barΛ$ at $\sqrt{s} = 3.773$ GeV

Using a data sample of $ψ(3770)$ events collected with the BESIII detector at BEPCII corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.9 fb$^{-1}$, we report a measurement of $Λ$ spin polarization in $e^+e^-\rightarrowΛ\barΛ$ at $\sqrt{s} = 3.773$ GeV. The significance of polarization is found to be 2$σ$ including the systematic uncertainty, which implies a zero phase between the transition amplitudes of the $Λ\barΛ$ helicity states. This phase can be interpreted in terms of psionic form factors, and is determined to be $ΔΦ^Ψ$ = $Φ^Ψ_{E} - Φ^Ψ_{M}$ = $(71^{+66}_{-46}$ $\pm$ 5)$^{\circ}$. Similarly, the ratio between the form factors is found to be $R^ψ$ = $|G^Ψ_{E}/G^Ψ_{M}|$ = $0.48^{+0.12}_{-0.07}$ $\pm$ 0.04. The first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic.

Measurement of the $D \to K^-π^+π^+π^-$ and $D \to K^-π^+π^0$ coherence factors and average strong-phase differences in quantum-correlated ${D\bar{D}}$ decays

The decays $D\to K^-π^+π^+π^-$ and $D \to K^-π^+π^0$ are studied in a sample of quantum-correlated $D\bar{D}$ pairs produced through the process $e^+e^- \to ψ(3770) \to D\bar{D}$, exploiting a data set collected by the BESIII experiment that corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 2.93 fb$^{-1}$. Here $D$ indicates a quantum superposition of a $D^0$ and a $\bar{D}^0$ meson. By reconstructing one neutral charm meson in a signal decay, and the other in the same or a different final state, observables are measured that contain information on the coherence factors and average strong-phase differences of each of the signal modes. These parameters are critical inputs in the measurement of the angle $γ$ of the Unitarity Triangle in $B^- \to DK^-$ decays at the LHCb and Belle II experiments. The coherence factors are determined to be $R_{K3π}=0.52^{+0.12}_{-0.10}$ and $R_{Kππ^0}=0.78 \pm 0.04$, with values for the average strong-phase differences that are $δ_D^{K3π}=\left(167^{+31}_{-19}\right)^\circ$ and $δ_D^{Kππ^0}=\left(196^{+14}_{-15}\right)^\circ$, where the uncertainties include both statistical and systematic contributions. The analysis is re-performed in four bins of the phase-space of the $D \to K^-π^+π^+π^-$ to yield results that will allow for a more sensitive measurement of $γ$ with this mode, to which the BESIII inputs will contribute an uncertainty of around 6$^\circ$.

Measurement of the branching fraction and decay asymmetry of $Λ\to nγ$

The radiative hyperon decay $Λ\to nγ$ is studied using $(10087\pm44)\times 10^6$ $J/ψ$ events collected with the BESIII detector operating at BEPCII. By analyzing the joint angular distribution of the decay products, the first determination of the decay asymmetry $α_γ$ is reported with a value of $-0.16\pm0.10(\rm stat.)\pm0.05(\rm syst.)$.

Measurement of the branching fraction of the doubly Cabibbo-suppressed decay $D^0\to K^+π^-π^0$ and search for $D^0\to K^+π^-π^0π^0$

Using $2.93\,\rm fb^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ collision data collected at a center-of-mass energy of 3.773\,GeV with the BESIII detector, we present a measurement of the branching fraction of the doubly Cabibbo-suppressed (DCS) decay $D^0\to K^+π^-π^0$ and a search for the DCS decay $D^0\to K^+π^-π^0π^0$. The branching fraction of $D^0\to K^+π^-π^0$ is determined to be $[3.13^{+0.60}_{-0.56}({\rm stat}) \pm 0.09({\rm syst})] \times 10^{-4}$. No signal is observed for $D^0\to K^+π^-π^0π^0$ and an upper limit of $3.6 \times 10^{-4}$ is set on the branching fraction at the 90\% C.L. We combine these results with the world-average branching fractions of their counterpart Cabibbo-favored decays to determine the ratios of the doubly Cabibbo-suppressed over the Cabibbo-favored branching fractions, ${\mathcal B}(D^0\to K^+π^-π^0)/{\mathcal B}(D^0\to K^-π^+π^0)=(0.22\pm 0.04)\%$~and ${\mathcal B}(D^0\to K^+π^-π^0π^0)/{\mathcal B}(D^0\to K^-π^+π^0π^0)<0.40\%$ at the 90\% C.L., which correspond to $(0.75\pm 0.14)\tan^{4} θ_C$~and $1.37\times \tan^{4} θ_C$, respectively, where $θ_C$ is the Cabibbo angle.

Measurement of the total and leptonic decay widths of the $J/ψ$ resonance with an energy scan method at BESIII

Using $e^+e^-$ annihilation data sets collected with the BESIII detector, we measure the cross sections of the processes $e^+e^- \to e^+e^-$ and $e^+e^- \to μ^+μ^-$ at fifteen center-of-mass energy points in the vicinity of the $J/ψ$ resonance. By a simultaneous fit to the measured, center-of-mass energy dependent cross sections of the two processes, the combined quantities $Γ_{ee} Γ_{ee} / Γ_{\rm tot}$ and $Γ_{ee} Γ_{μμ} / Γ_{\rm tot}$ are determined to be ($0.346 \pm 0.009$) and ($0.335 \pm 0.006$) keV, respectively, where $Γ_{ee}$, $Γ_{μμ}$, and $Γ_{\rm tot}$ are the electronic, muonic, and total decay widths of the $J/ψ$ resonance, respectively. Using the resultant $Γ_{ee} Γ_{μμ} / Γ_{\rm tot}$ and $Γ_{ee} Γ_{ee} / Γ_{\rm tot}$, the ratio $Γ_{ee} / Γ_{μμ}$ is calculated to be $1.031 \pm 0.015$, which is consistent with the expectation of lepton universality within about two standard deviations. Assuming lepton universality and using the branching fraction of the $J/ψ$ leptonic decay measured by BESIII in 2013, $Γ_{\rm tot}$ and $Γ_{ll}$ are determined to be ($93.0 \pm 2.1$) and ($5.56 \pm 0.11$) keV, respectively, where $Γ_{ll}$ is the average leptonic decay width of the $J/ψ$ resonance.

We report the first measurements of the absolute branching fractions of $D^0\to K_L^0ϕ$, $D^0\to K_L^0η$, $D^0\to K_L^0ω$, and $D^0\to K_L^0η^{\prime}$, obtained by analyzing $2.93\,\rm fb^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ collision data taken at a center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector. Taking the world averages of the branching fractions of $D^0\to K_S^0ϕ$, $D^0\to K_S^0η$, $D^0\to K_S^0ω$, and $D^0\to K_S^0η^{\prime}$, the $K_S^0$-$K_L^0$ asymmetry $\mathcal{R}(D^0)$ in these decay modes are obtained. The CP asymmetries in these decays are also determined. No significant $CP$ violation is observed.

Measurements of the absolute branching fractions of hadronic $D$-meson decays involving kaons and pions

By analyzing an electron-positron collision data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $2.93\,\rm fb^{-1}$ taken at the center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector, we obtain for the first time the absolute branching fractions for seven $D^0$ and $D^+$ hadronic decay modes and search for the hadronic decay $D^0\to K^0_S K^0_Sπ^0$ with much improved sensitivity. The results are ${\mathcal B}(D^0\to K^0_Sπ^0π^0π^0 )=( 7.64\pm 0.30\pm 0.29)\times 10^{-3}$, ${\mathcal B}(D^0\to K^-π^+π^0π^0π^0 )=( 9.54\pm 0.30\pm 0.31)\times 10^{-3}$, ${\mathcal B}(D^0\to K^0_Sπ^+π^-π^0π^0)=(12.66\pm 0.45\pm 0.43)\times 10^{-3}$, ${\mathcal B}(D^+\to K^0_Sπ^+π^0π^0 )=(29.04\pm 0.62\pm 0.87)\times 10^{-3}$, ${\mathcal B}(D^+\to K^0_Sπ^+π^+π^-π^0)=(15.28\pm 0.57\pm 0.60)\times 10^{-3}$, ${\mathcal B}(D^+\to K^0_Sπ^+π^0π^0π^0)=( 5.54\pm 0.44\pm 0.32)\times 10^{-3}$, ${\mathcal B}(D^+\to K^-π^+π^+π^0π^0 )=( 4.95\pm 0.26\pm 0.19)\times 10^{-3}$, ${\mathcal B}({D^0\to K^0_S K^0_Sπ^0}) < 1.57 \times 10^{-4}$ at the 90\% confidence level. Here the first uncertainties are statistical and the second ones systematic. The newly studied decays greatly enrich the knowledge of the $D\to \bar Kπππ$ and $D\to \bar Kππππ$ hadronic decays, and open a bridge to access more two-body hadronic $D$ decays containing scalar, vector, axial and tensor mesons in the charm sector.

Observation of $a_0(1710)^+ \to K_S^0K^+$ in study of the $D_s^+\to K_S^0K^+π^0$ decay

Using $e^+e^-$ annihilation data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 6.32 fb$^{-1}$ collected at center-of-mass energies between 4.178 GeV and 4.226 GeV with the BESIII detector, we perform the first amplitude analysis of the decay $D_s^+\to K_S^0K^+π^0$ and determine the relative branching fractions and phases for intermediate processes. We observe the $a_0(1710)^+$, the isovector partner of the $f_0(1710)$ and $f_0(1770)$ mesons, in its decay to $K_S^0K^+$ for the first time. In addition, we measure the ratio $\frac{\mathcal{B}(D_{s}^{+} \to \bar{K}^{*}(892)^{0}K^{+})}{\mathcal{B}(D_{s}^{+} \to \bar{K}^{0}K^{*}(892)^{+})}$ to be $2.35^{+0.42}_{-0.23\text{stat.}}\pm 0.10_{\rm syst.}$. Finally, we provide a precision measurement of the absolute branching fraction $\mathcal{B}(D_s^+\to K_S^0K^+π^0) = (1.46\pm 0.06_{\text{stat.}}\pm 0.05_{\text{syst.}})\%$.

Observation of $η_c(2S) \to 3(π^+π^-)$ and measurements of $χ_{cJ} \to 3(π^+π^-)$ in $ψ(3686)$ radiative transitions

The hadronic decay $η_c(2S) \to 3(π^+π^-)$ is observed with a statistical significance of 9.3 standard deviations using $(448.1\pm2.9)\times10^6$ $ψ(3686)$ events collected by the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider. The measured mass and width of $η_c(2S)$ are $(3643.4 \pm 2.3 (\rm stat.) \pm 4.4 (\rm syst.))$ MeV/$c^2$ and $(19.8 \pm 3.9 (\rm stat.) \pm 3.1 (\rm syst.))$ MeV, respectively, which are consistent with the world average values within two standard deviations. The product branching fraction $\mathcal{B}[ψ(3686)\to γη_c(2S)]\times\mathcal{B}[η_c(2S)\to3(π^+π^-)]$ is measured to be $(9.2 \pm 1.0 (\rm stat.) \pm 0.9 (\rm syst.))\times10^{-6}$. Using $\mathcal{B}[ψ(3686)\to γη_c(2S)]=(7.0^{+3.4}_{-2.5})\times10^{-4}$, we obtain $\mathcal{B}[η_c(2S) \to 3(π^+π^-)] = (1.31 \pm 0.15 (\rm stat.) \pm 0.13 (\rm syst.)(^{+0.64}_{-0.47}) (\rm extr))\times10^{-2}$, where the third uncertainty is from $\mathcal{B}[ψ(3686) \to γη_c(2S)]$. We also measure the $χ_{cJ} \to 3(π^+π^-)$ ($J=0, 1, 2$) decays via $ψ(3686) \to γχ_{cJ}$ transitions. The branching fractions are $\mathcal{B}[χ_{c0} \to 3(π^+π^-)] = (2.080\pm0.006 (\rm stat.)\pm0.068 (\rm syst.))\times10^{-2}$, $\mathcal{B}[χ_{c1} \to 3(π^+π^-)] = (1.092\pm0.004 (\rm stat.)\pm0.035 (\rm syst.))\times10^{-2}$, and $\mathcal{B}[χ_{c2} \to 3(π^+π^-)] = (1.565\pm0.005 (\rm stat.)\pm0.048 (\rm syst.))\times10^{-2}$.

Observation of resonance structures in $e^+e^-\to π^+π^-ψ_2(3823)$ and mass measurement of $ψ_2(3823)$

Using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 11.3 $\rm fb^{-1}$ collected at center-of-mass energies from $4.23$ to $4.70$ GeV with the BESIII detector, we measure the product of the $e^+e^-\to π^+π^-ψ_2(3823)$ cross section and the branching fraction $\mathcal{B}[ψ_2(3823)\to γχ_{c1}]$. For the first time, resonance structure is observed in the cross section line shape of $e^+e^-\to π^+π^-ψ_2(3823)$ with significances exceeding $5σ$. A fit to data with two coherent Breit-Wigner resonances modeling the $\sqrt{s}$-dependent cross section yields $M(R_1)=4406.9\pm 17.2\pm 4.5$ MeV/$c^2$, $Γ(R_1)=128.1\pm 37.2\pm 2.3$ MeV, and $M(R_2)=4647.9\pm 8.6\pm 0.8$ MeV/$c^2$, $Γ(R_2)=33.1\pm 18.6\pm 4.1$ MeV. Though weakly disfavored by the data, a single resonance with $M(R)=4417.5\pm26.2\pm3.5$ MeV/$c^2$, $Γ(R)=245\pm48\pm13$ MeV is also possible to interpret data. This observation deepens our understanding of the nature of the vector charmoniumlike states. The mass of the $ψ_2(3823)$ state is measured as $(3823.12\pm 0.43\pm 0.13)$ MeV/$c^2$, which is the most precise measurement to date.

The ratio of the branching fraction of $D^{\ast 0}\to D^{0}e^{+}e^{-}$ to that of $D^{\ast 0}\to D^{0} γ$ is measured to be $(11.08\pm0.76\pm0.49)\times 10^{-3}$. By using the world average value of the branching fraction of $D^{\ast 0}\to D^{0} γ$, the branching fraction of $D^{\ast 0}\to D^{0}e^{+}e^{-}$ is determined to be $(3.91\pm0.27\pm0.17\pm0.10)\times 10^{-3}$, where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second systematic and the third external branching fractions.

Observation of the Singly Cabibbo-Suppressed Decay $Λ_{c}^{+} \to nπ^{+}$

The singly Cabibbo-suppressed decay $Λ_{c}^{+} \to nπ^{+}$ is observed for the first time with a statistical significance of $7.3σ$ by using 3.9 $\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ of $e^{+}e^{-}$ collision data collected at center-of-mass energies between 4.612 and 4.699 GeV with the BESIII detector at BEPCII. The branching fraction of $Λ_{c}^{+} \to nπ^{+}$ is measured to be $(6.6\pm1.2_{\rm stat}\pm0.4_{\rm syst})\times 10^{-4}$. By taking the upper limit of branching fractions of $Λ_{c}^{+} \to pπ^0$ from the Belle experiment, the ratio of branching fractions between $Λ_{c}^{+} \to nπ^{+}$ and $Λ_{c}^{+} \to pπ^0$ is calculated to be larger than 7.2 at the 90% confidence level, which disagrees with the current predictions of available phenomenological models. In addition, the branching fractions of the Cabibbo-favored decays $Λ_{c}^{+} \to Λπ^{+}$ and $Λ_{c}^{+} \to Σ^{0}π^{+}$ are measured to be $(1.31\pm0.08_{\rm stat}\pm0.05_{\rm syst})\times 10^{-2}$ and $(1.22\pm0.08_{\rm stat}\pm0.07_{\rm syst})\times 10^{-2}$, respectively, which are consistent with previous results.

We set upper limits (at 90\% C.L.) of $\frac{\mathcal{B}(X(3872)\rightarrowπ^0χ_{c0})}{\mathcal{B}(X(3872)\toπ^+π^-J/ψ)}<3.6$, $\frac{\mathcal{B}(X(3872)\rightarrowπ^+π^-χ_{c0})}{\mathcal{B}(X(3872)\toπ^+π^-J/ψ)}<0.68$, and $\frac{\mathcal{B}(X(3872)\rightarrowπ^0π^0χ_{c0})}{\mathcal{B}(X(3872)\toπ^+π^-J/ψ)}<1.7$. Combined with the BESIII measurement of $X(3872)\toπ^0χ_{c1}$, we also set an upper limit of $\frac{\mathcal{B}(X(3872)\rightarrowπ^0χ_{c0})}{\mathcal{B}(X(3872)\toπ^0χ_{c1})}<4.4$.

$Σ^{+}$ and $\barΣ^-$ polarization in the $J/ψ$ and $ψ(3686)$ decays

The non-zero value of $ΔΦ$ allows for a direct and simultaneous measurement of the decay asymmetry parameters of $Σ^{+}\rightarrow p π^{0}~(α_0 = -0.998\pm0.037\pm0.009)$ and $\barΣ^{-}\rightarrow \bar{p} π^{0}~(\barα_0 = 0.990\pm0.037\pm0.011)$, the latter value being determined for the first time. The CP asymmetry $A_{\rm CP,Σ} = (α_0 + \barα_0)/(α_0 - \barα_0) = -0.004\pm0.037\pm0.010$ is extracted for the first time, and is found to be consistent with CP conservation.

Erratum to "Measurement of the $e^+e^-\toπ^+π^-$ cross section between 600 and 900 MeV using initial state radiation"

In this erratum we report a corrected evaluation of the statistical errors in terms of a fully propagated covariance matrix. The correction also yields a reduced statistical uncertainty for the hadronic vacuum polarization contribution to the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon, which now reads as $a_μ^{ππ\mathrm{, LO}}(600 - 900\,\mathrm{MeV}) = (368.2 \pm 1.5_{\rm stat} \pm 3.3_{\rm syst})\times 10^{-10}$. First Observation of $D^+\to ημ^+ν_μ$ and Measurement of its Decay Dynamics

By analyzing a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $2.93~\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ collected at a center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector, we measure for the first time the absolute branching fraction of the $D^+\to ημ^+ν_μ$ decay to be ${\mathcal B}_{D^+\to ημ^+ν_μ}=(10.4\pm1.0_{\rm stat}\pm0.5_{\rm syst})\times 10^{-4}$. Using the world averaged value of ${\mathcal B}_{D^+\to ηe^+ν_e}$, the ratio of the two branching fractions is determined to be ${\mathcal B}_{D^+\to ημ^+ν_μ}/{\mathcal B}_{D^+\to ηe^+ν_e}=0.91\pm0.13$, which agrees with the theoretical expectation of lepton flavor universality within uncertainty. Here, the uncertainty is the sum in quadrature of the statistical and systematic uncertainties. By studying the differential decay rates in five four-momentum transfer intervals, we obtain the product of the hadronic form factor $f^η_{+}(0)$ and the $c\to d$ Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element $|V_{cd}|$ to be $f_{+}^η(0)|V_{cd}|=0.087\pm0.008_{\rm stat}\pm0.002_{\rm syst}$. Taking the input of $|V_{cd}|$ from the global fit in the standard model, we determine $f_{+}^η(0)=0.39\pm0.04_{\rm stat}\pm0.01_{\rm syst}$. On the other hand, using the value of $f_+^η(0)$ calculated in theory, we find $|V_{cd}|=0.242\pm0.022_{\rm stat}\pm0.006_{\rm syst}\pm0.033_{\rm theory}$.

Inclusive charged and neutral particle multiplicity distributions in $χ_{cJ}$ and $J/ψ$ decays

Using a sample of 106 million $ψ(3686)$ decays, $ψ(3686) \to γχ_{cJ} (J = 0, 1, 2)$ and $ψ(3686) \to γχ_{cJ}, χ_{cJ} \to γJ/ψ$ $(J = 1, 2)$ events are utilized to study inclusive $χ_{cJ} \to$ anything, $χ_{cJ} \to$ hadrons, and $J/ψ\to$ anything distributions, including distributions of the number of charged tracks, electromagnetic calorimeter showers, and $π^0$s, and to compare them with distributions obtained from the BESIII Monte Carlo simulation. Information from each Monte Carlo simulated decay event is used to construct matrices connecting the detected distributions to the input predetection "produced" distributions. Assuming these matrices also apply to data, they are used to predict the analogous produced distributions of the decay events. Using these, the charged particle multiplicities are compared with results from MARK I. Further, comparison of the distributions of the number of photons in data with those in Monte Carlo simulation indicates that G-parity conservation should be taken into consideration in the simulation.

Measurement of {\boldmath $J/ψ\toΞ(1530)^{-}\barΞ^{+}$} and evidence for the radiative decay {\boldmath $Ξ(1530)^{-}\toγΞ^-$}

The SU(3)-flavor violating decay $J/ψ\toΞ(1530)^{-}\barΞ^{+}+c.c.$ is studied using $(1310.6\pm7.0)\times 10^{6} ~J/ψ$ events collected with the BESIII detector at BEPCII and the branching fraction is measured to be ${\cal{B}}(J/ψ\toΞ(1530)^{-}\barΞ^{+}+c.c.)=(3.17\pm0.02_{\rm stat.}\pm0.08_{\rm syst.})\times10^{-4}$. This is consistent with previous measurements with an improved precision. The angular parameter for this decay is measured for the first time and is found to be $α=-0.21\pm0.04_{\rm stat.}\pm0.06_{\rm syst.}$. In addition, we report evidence for the radiative decay $Ξ(1530)^{-}\toγΞ^- $ with a significance of 3.9$σ$, including the systematic uncertainties. The 90\% confidence level upper limit on the branching fraction is determined to be $\mathcal{B}(Ξ(1530)^{-}\toγΞ^- )\leq3.7$\%.

Measurement of cross sections for $e^{+}e^{-} \rightarrow μ^+μ^-$ at center-of-mass energies from 3.80 to 4.60 GeV

The observed cross sections for $e^+e^-\rightarrow μ^+μ^-$ at energies from 3.8 to 4.6 GeV are measured using data samples taken with the BESIII detector operated at the BEPCII collider. We measure the muonic widths and determine the branching fractions of the charmonium states $ψ(4040)$, $ψ(4160)$, and $ψ(4415)$ decaying to $μ^+μ^-$, as well as making a first determination of the phase of the amplitudes. In addition, we observe evidence for a structure in the dimuon cross section near 4.220 GeV/$c^2$, which we denote as $S(4220)$. Analyzing a coherent sum of amplitudes yields eight solutions, one of which gives a mass of ${M}_{S(4220)}=4216.7 \pm 8.9 \pm 4.1$~MeV/$c^2$, a total width of ${\rm Γ^{\rm tot}_{S(4220)}}=47.2 \pm 22.8 \pm 10.5$~MeV, and a muonic width of ${\rm Γ}^{μμ}_{S(4220)}=1.53\pm1.26\pm0.54$~keV, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic. The eight solutions give the central values of the mass, total width, muonic width to be, respectively, in the range from 4212.8 to 4219.4 MeV/$c^2$, from 36.4 to 49.6 MeV, and from 1.09 to 1.53 keV. The statistical significance of the $S(4220)$ signal is $3.9σ$. Correcting the total dimuon cross section for radiative effects yields a statistical significance for this structure of more than $7σ$.

Measurement of Singly Cabibbo-Suppressed Decays $D \to ωππ$

Using 2.93 fb$^{-1}$ of $e^{+}e^{-}$ collision data taken at a center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV by the BESIII detector at the BEPCII, we measure the branching fractions of the singly Cabibbo-suppressed decays $D \to ωππ$ to be $\mathcal{B}(D^0 \to ωπ^+π^-) = (1.33 \pm 0.16 \pm 0.12)\times 10^{-3}$ and $\mathcal{B}(D^+ \to ωπ^+π^0) =(3.87 \pm 0.83 \pm 0.25)\times 10^{-3}$, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second ones systematic. The statistical significances are $12.9σ$ and $7.7 σ$, respectively. The precision of $\mathcal{B}(D^0 \to ωπ^+π^-)$ is improved by a factor of 2.1 over the CLEO measurement, and $\mathcal{B}(D^+ \to ωπ^+π^0)$ is measured for the first time. No significant signal of $\mathcal{B}(D^0 \to ωπ^0π^0)$ is observed, and the upper limit on the branching fraction is $\mathcal{B}(D^0 \to ωπ^0π^0) < 1.10 \times 10^{-3}$ at the $90\%$ confidence level. The branching fractions of $D\to ηππ$ are also measured and consistent with existing results.

Measurement of the cross section for $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrowΞ^{-}\barΞ^{+}$ and observation of an excited $Ξ$ baryon

Using a total of 11.0 fb$^{-1}$ of $e^{+}e^{-}$ collision data with center-of-mass energies between 4.009 GeV and 4.6 GeV and collected with the BESIII detector at BEPCII, we measure fifteen exclusive cross sections and effective form factors for the process $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrowΞ^{-}\barΞ^{+}$ by means of a single baryon-tag method. After performing a fit to the dressed cross section of $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrowΞ^{-}\barΞ^{+}$, no significant $ψ(4230)$ or $ψ(4260)$ resonance is observed in the $Ξ^{-}\barΞ^{+}$ final states, and upper limits at the 90\% confidence level on $Γ_{ee}\mathcal{B}$ for the processes $ψ(4230)$/$ψ(4260)\rightarrowΞ^{-}\barΞ^{+}$ are determined. In addition, an excited $Ξ$ baryon at 1820 MeV/$c^{2}$ is observed with a statistical significance of 6.2 $\sim$ 6.5$σ$ by including the systematic uncertainty, and the mass and width are measured to be $M = (1825.5 \pm 4.7 \pm 4.7)$~MeV/$c^{2}$ and $Γ= (17.0 \pm 15.0 \pm 7.9)$~MeV, which confirms the existence of the $J^{P}=\frac{3}{2}^{-}$ state $Ξ(1820)$.

Among these decays, the $D^0\to K^-π^+η$ and $D^+\to K^0_Sπ^+η$ decays have the largest branching fractions, which are $\mathcal{B} (D^0\to K^-π^+η)=(1.853\pm0.025_{\rm stat}\pm0.031_{\rm syst})\%$ and $\mathcal{B}(D^+\to K^0_Sπ^+η)=(1.309\pm0.037_{\rm stat}\pm0.031_{\rm syst})\%$, respectively. We also determine the $CP$ asymmetries for the six decays with highest event yields. No evidence of $CP$ violation is found.

Using an $e^+e^-$ annihilation data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $2.93\,\rm fb^{-1}$ collected at the center-of-mass energy of 3.773\,GeV with the BESIII detector, we measure the absolute branching fractions of $D^+\toηηπ^+$, $D^+\toηπ^+π^0$, and $D^0\toηπ^+π^-$ to be $(2.96 \pm 0.24 \pm 0.13)\times 10^{-3}$, $(2.23 \pm 0.15 \pm 0.11)\times 10^{-3}$, and $(1.20 \pm 0.07 \pm 0.04)\times 10^{-3}$, respectively, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second ones systematic. The $D^+\toηηπ^+$ decay is observed for the first time and the branching fractions of $D^{+(0)}\toηπ^+π^{0(-)}$ are measured with much improved precision. In addition we test for $CP$ asymmetries in the separated charge-conjugate branching fractions; no evidence of $CP$ violation is found.

Observation of a resonant structure in $e^{+}e^{-} \to ωη$ and another in $e^{+}e^{-} \to ωπ^{0}$ at center-of-mass energies between 2.00 and 3.08 GeV

Born cross sections for the processes $e^+e^- \to ωη$ and $e^+e^- \to ωπ^{0}$ have been determined for center-of-mass energies between 2.00 and 3.08 GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider. The results obtained in this work are consistent with previous measurements but with improved precision. Two resonant structures are observed. Its properties are consistent with the $ϕ(2170)$. In the $e^{+}e^{-} \toωπ^{0}$ cross sections, a resonance denoted $Y(2040)$ is observed with a significance of more than 10$σ$. Its mass and width are determined to be $(2034 \pm 13 \pm 9)\text{MeV}/c^2$ and $(234 \pm 30 \pm 25)\text{MeV}$, respectively, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second ones are systematic.

The process $e^{+}e^{-} \to ϕη^{\prime}$ has been studied for the first time in detail using data sample collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider at center of mass energies from 2.05 to 3.08 GeV. A resonance with quantum numbers $J^{PC}=1^{--}$ is observed with mass $M$ = (2177.5 $\pm$ 4.8 (stat) $\pm$ 19.5 (syst)) MeV/${ \it{c}^{\mathrm{2}}}$ and width $Γ$ = (149.0 $\pm$ 15.6 (stat) $\pm$ 8.9 (syst)) MeV with a statistical significance larger than 10$σ$. The observed structure could be identified with the $ϕ(2170)$, then the ratio of partial width between the $ϕη^{\prime}$ by BESIII and $ϕη$ by BABAR is ($\mathcal{B}^{R}_{ϕη}Γ^{R}_{ee})/{(\mathcal{B}^{R}_{ϕη^{\prime}}Γ^{R}_{ee})}$ = 0.23 $\pm$ 0.10 (stat) $\pm$ 0.18 (syst), which is smaller than the prediction of the $s\bar{s}g$ hybrid models by several orders of magnitude.

Using a sample of $(448.1\pm2.9)\times10^6$ $ψ(3686)$ events collected with the BESIII detector, we perform the first partial wave analysis of $ψ(3686)\rightarrow K^+K^-η$. In addition to the well established states, $ϕ(1020)$, $ϕ(1680)$, and $K_3^*(1780)$, contributions from $X(1750)$, $ρ(2150)$, $ρ_3(2250)$, and $K^*_2(1980)$ are also observed. We report on an analysis of the decay $J/ψ\rightarrowγπ^0η^{\prime}$ using a sample of $(1310.6 \pm 7.0) \times ~10^6~ J/ψ$ events collected with the BESIII detector. No evidence of an $η_{c}$ signal is observed in the $π^0η^{\prime}$ invariant-mass spectrum and the upper limit of the branching fraction is determined to be $7.2 \times~10^{-5}$ at the 90\% confidence level. We also find no evidence of $U'$ production and set upper limits at the 90\% confidence level on the product branching fraction $\mathcal{B}(J/ψ\rightarrow U^{\prime} η^{\prime}) \times \mathcal{B}(U^{\prime} \rightarrow π^{0} γ)$ in the range between $(0.8 - 6.5)\times 10^{-7}$ for 0.2 $\leq m_{U^{\prime}} \leq 2.1 $GeV$/c^{2}$. In addition, we study the process $J/ψ\rightarrowωη^{\prime}$ with $ω\rightarrowγπ^0$. The branching fraction of $J/ψ\rightarrowωη^{\prime}$ is found to be $(1.87\pm0.09\pm0.12) \times 10^{-4}$, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic, with a precision that is improved by a factor of 1.4 over the previously published BESIII measurement.

Study of the process $e^+e^-\toπ^0π^0 J/ψ$ and neutral charmonium-like state $Z_c(3900)^0$

Cross sections of the process $e^+e^-\toπ^0π^0 J/ψ$ at center-of-mass energies between 3.808 and 4.600 GeV are measured with high precision by using 12.4 $fb^{-1}$ of data samples collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII collider facility. A fit to the measured energy-dependent cross sections confirms the existence of the charmonium-like state $Y(4220)$. The mass and width of the $Y(4220)$ are determined to be $(4220.4\pm2.4\pm2.3)$ ${\rm MeV}/c^{2}$ and $(46.2\pm4.7\pm2.1)$ MeV, respectively, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic. The mass and width are consistent with those measured in the process $e^+e^-\toπ^+π^- J/ψ$. The neutral charmonium-like state $Z_c(3900)^0$ is observed prominently in the $π^0 J/ψ$ invariant-mass spectrum, and, for the first time, an amplitude analysis is performed to study its properties. The spin-parity of $Z_c(3900)^0$ is determined to be $J^{P}=1^{+}$, and the pole position is $(3893.1\pm2.2\pm3.0)-i(22.2\pm2.6\pm7.0)$ ${\rm MeV}/c^2$, which is consistent with previous studies of electrically charged $Z_c(3900)^\pm$. Measurement of azimuthal asymmetries in inclusive charged dipion production in $e^+e^-$ annihilations at $\sqrt{s}$ = 3.65 GeV

These asymmetries can be attributed to the Collins fragmentation function. We observe a nonzero asymmetry, which increases with increasing pion momentum. As our energy scale is close to that of the existing semi-inclusive deep inelastic scattering experimental data, the measured asymmetries are important inputs for the global analysis of extracting the quark transversity distribution inside the nucleon and are valuable to explore the energy evolution of the spin-dependent fragmentation function.

Using a data sample of $1.31 \times 10^{9}$ $J/ψ$ events accumulated with the BESIII detector, the decay $J/ψ\to p\bar{p}ϕ$ is studied via two decay modes, $ϕ\to K^{0}_{S}K^{0}_{L}$ and $ϕ\to K^{+}K^{-}$. The branching fraction of $J/ψ\to p\bar{p}ϕ$ is measured to be $\mathcal{B}(J/ψ\to p\bar{p}ϕ)=[5.23\pm0.06(\mbox{stat})\pm0.33(\mbox{syst})]\times10^{-5}$, which agrees well with a previously published measurement, but with a significantly improved precision. No evident enhancement near the $p\bar{p}$ mass threshold, denoted as $X(p\bar{p})$, is observed, and the upper limit on the branching fraction of $J/ψ\to X(p\bar{p})ϕ\to p\bar{p}ϕ$ is determined to be $\mathcal{B}(J/ψ\to X(p\bar{p})ϕ\to p\bar{p}ϕ)<2.1\times10^{-7}$ at the 90\% confidence level.

Study of $ψ$ decays to the $Ξ^{-}\barΞ^{+}$ and $Σ(1385)^{\mp}\barΣ(1385)^{\pm}$ final states

We study the decays of the charmonium resonances $J/ψ$ and $ψ(3686)$ to the final states $Ξ^{-}\barΞ^{+}$, $Σ(1385)^{\mp}\barΣ(1385)^{\pm}$ based on a single baryon tag method using data samples of $(223.7 \pm 1.4) \times 10^{6}$ $J/ψ$ and $(106.4 \pm 0.9) \times 10^{6}$ $ψ(3686)$ events collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider. The decay $ψ(3686)\rightarrowΣ(1385)^{\mp}\barΣ(1385)^{\pm}$ is observed for the first time, and the measurements of the other processes, including the branching fractions and angular distributions, are in good agreement with and much more precise than the previously published results. Additionally, the ratios $\frac{\cal{B}(ψ(3686)\rightarrowΞ^{-}\barΞ^{+})}{\cal{B}(J/ψ\rightarrowΞ^{-}\barΞ^{+})}$, $\frac{\cal{B}(ψ(3686)\rightarrowΣ(1385)^{-}\barΣ(1385)^{+})}{\cal{B}(J/ψ\rightarrowΣ(1385)^{-}\barΣ(1385)^{+})}$ and $\frac{\cal{B}(ψ(3686)\rightarrowΣ(1385)^{+}\barΣ(1385)^{-})}{\cal{B}(J/ψ\rightarrowΣ(1385)^{+}\barΣ(1385)^{-})}$ are determined.

An amplitude analysis of the $π^{0}π^{0}$ system produced in radiative $J/ψ$ decays

An amplitude analysis of the $π^{0}π^{0}$ system produced in radiative $J/ψ$ decays is presented. In particular, a piecewise function that describes the dynamics of the $π^{0}π^{0}$ system is determined as a function of $M_{π^{0}π^{0}}$ from an analysis of the $(1.311\pm0.011)\times10^{9}$ $J/ψ$ decays collected by the BESIII detector. The goal of this analysis is to provide a description of the scalar and tensor components of the $π^0π^0$ system while making minimal assumptions about the properties or number of poles in the amplitude. Such a model-independent description allows one to integrate these results with other related results from complementary reactions in the development of phenomenological models, which can then be used to directly fit experimental data to obtain parameters of interest. The branching fraction of $J/ψ\to γπ^{0}π^{0}$ is determined to be $(1.15\pm0.05)\times10^{-3}$, where the uncertainty is systematic only and the statistical uncertainty is negligible.

Confirmation of a charged charmoniumlike state $Z_c(3885)^{\mp}$ in $e^+e^-\toπ^{\pm}(D\bar{D}^*)^\mp$ with double $D$ tag

We present a study of the process $e^+e^-\toπ^{\pm}(D\bar{D}^*)^{\mp}$ using data samples of 1092~pb$^{-1}$ at $\sqrt{s}=4.23$~GeV and 826~pb$^{-1}$ at $\sqrt{s}=4.26$~GeV collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII storage ring. With full reconstruction of the $D$ meson pair and the bachelor $π^{\pm}$ in the final state, we confirm the existence of the charged structure $Z_c(3885)^{\mp}$ in the $(D\bar{D}^*)^{\mp}$ system in the two isospin processes $e^+e^-\toπ^+D^0D^{*-}$ and $e^+e^-\toπ^+D^-D^{*0}$. By performing a simultaneous fit, the statistical significance of $Zc(3885)^{\mp}$ signal is determined to be greater than 10$σ$, and its pole mass and width are measured to be $M_{\rm{pole}}$=(3881.7$\pm$1.6(stat.)$\pm$1.6(syst.))~MeV/$c^2$ and $Γ_{\rm{pole}}$=(26.6$\pm$2.0(stat.)$\pm$2.1(syst.))~MeV, respectively. The Born cross section times the $(D\bar{D}^*)^{\mp}$ branching fraction ($σ(e^+e^-\toπ^{\pm}Z_{c}(3885)^{\mp}) \times Br(Z_{c}(3885)^{\mp}\to(D\bar{D}^*)^{\mp})$) is measured to be $(141.6\pm7.9(\text{stat.})\pm12.3(\text{syst.}))~\text{pb}$ at $\sqrt{s}=4.23$~GeV and $(108.4\pm6.9(\text{stat.})\pm8.8(\text{syst.}))~\text{pb}$ at $\sqrt{s}=4.26$~GeV. The polar angular distribution of the $π^{\pm}$-$Z_c(3885)^{\mp}$ system is consistent with the expectation of a quantum number assignment of $J^P=1^+$ for $Z_c(3885)^{\mp}$.

Measurement of $\mathcal B(ψ(3770)\toγχ_{c1})$ and search for $ψ(3770)\toγχ_{c2}$

We report a measurement of the branching fraction of $ψ(3770)\toγχ_{c1}$ and search for the transition $ψ(3770)\rightarrow γχ_{c2}$ based on 2.92~fb$^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ data accumulated at $\sqrt{s}=3.773$~GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider. The measured branching fraction of $ψ(3770) \rightarrow γχ_{c1}$ is $\mathcal B(ψ(3770) \rightarrow γχ_{c1})=(2.48 \pm 0.15 \pm 0.23) \times 10^{-3}$, which is the most precise measurement to date. The upper limit on the branching fraction of $ψ(3770)\rightarrow γχ_{c2}$ at a $90\%$ confidence level is $\mathcal B(ψ(3770) \rightarrow γχ_{c2})<0.64 \times 10^{-3}$. The corresponding partial widths are $Γ(ψ(3770) \to γχ_{c1}) =(67.5\pm 4.1\pm 6.7)$~keV and $Γ(ψ(3770) \to γχ_{c2}) < 17.4$~keV.

Measurement of $y_{CP}$ in $D^0-\overline{D}^0$ oscillation using quantum correlations in $e^+e^-\to D^0\overline{D}^0$ at $\sqrt{s}$ = 3.773\,GeV

We report a measurement of the parameter $y_{CP}$ in $\ensuremath{D^0}\xspace-\ensuremath{\overline{D}^{0}}\xspace$ oscillations performed by taking advantage of quantum coherence between pairs of $\ensuremath{D^0}\xspace \ensuremath{\overline{D}^{0}}\xspace$ mesons produced in $e^+e^-$ annihilations near threshold. In this work, doubly-tagged $\ensuremath{D^0}\xspace \ensuremath{\overline{D}^{0}}\xspace$ events, where one $D$ decays to a $CP$ eigenstate and the other $D$ decays in a semileptonic mode, are reconstructed using a data sample of 2.92\,fb$^{-1}$ collected with the BESIII detector at the center-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s}$ = 3.773\,GeV. We obtain $y_{CP} = (-2.0\pm1.3\pm0.7)\%$, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. This result is compatible with the current world average.

Measurement of the absolute branching fraction for $Λ^+_{c}\to Λe^+ν_e$

We report the first absolute measurement of the branching fraction of $Λ^+_{c}\rightarrow Λe^+ν_e$. This measurement is based on 567 pb$^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ annihilation data produced at $\sqrt{s}=4.599$ GeV, which is just above the $Λ^+_c\barΛ^-_c$ threshold. The data were collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII storage rings. The branching fraction is determined to be $\mathcal B({Λ^+_c\rightarrow Λe^+ν_e})=(3.63\pm0.38({\rm stat})\pm0.20({\rm syst}))\%$, representing a more than twofold improvement in precision upon previously published results. As the branching fraction for $Λ^+_{c}\rightarrow Λe^+ν_e$ is the benchmark for those of other $Λ^+_c$ semileptonic channels, our result provides a unique test of different theoretical models, which is the most stringent to date.

Measurement of the branching fractions of $D_{s}^{+}\rightarrow η'X$ and $D_{s}^{+}\rightarrow η'ρ^{+}$ in $e^+e^-\to D^+_{s}D^-_{s}$

We study $D_{s}^{+}$ decays to final states involving the $η'$ with a 482$\,$pb$^{-1}$ data sample collected at $\sqrt{s}$ = 4.009$\,$GeV with the \mbox{BESIII} detector at the BEPCII collider. We measure the branching fractions $\mathcal{B}(D^+_{s}\rightarrow η'X)$ = (8.8$\pm$1.8$\pm$0.5)$\%$ and $\mathcal{B}(D_{s}^{+}\rightarrow η'ρ^{+})$ = ($5.8\pm1.4\pm0.4$)$\%$ where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. In addition, we estimate an upper limit on the non-resonant branching ratio $\mathcal{B}(D_{s}^{+}\rightarrow η'π^+π^0)<5.1\%$ at the 90$\%$ confidence level. Our results are consistent with CLEO's recent measurements and help to resolve the disagreement between the theoretical prediction and CLEO's previous measurement of $\mathcal{B}(D_{s}^{+}\rightarrow η'ρ^{+})$.

The branching fractions are measured to be $\mathcal{B}(ψ^\prime\to \bar{p}K^+Σ^0+c.c)= (1.67\pm0.13\pm0.12)\times10^{-5}$, $\mathcal{B}(χ_{c0}\to\bar{p}K^+Λ+c.c.)= (13.2\pm0.3\pm1.0)\times10^{-4}$, $\mathcal{B}(χ_{c1}\to\bar{p}K^+Λ+c.c.)= (4.5\pm0.2\pm0.4)\times10^{-4}$ and $\mathcal{B}(χ_{c2}\to\bar{p}K^+Λ+c.c)= (8.4\pm0.3\pm0.6)\times10^{-4}$, where the first error is statistical, and the second is systematic. In the decay of $χ_{c0} \to \bar{p}K^+Λ+ c.c.$, an anomalous enhancement near threshold is observed in the invariant mass distribution of $\bar{p}Λ+c.c.$, which cannot be explained by phase space.

Observation of a Neutral Structure near the $D\bar{D}^{*}$ Mass Threshold in $e^{+}e^{-}\to (D \bar{D}^*)^0π^0$ at $\sqrt{s}$ = 4.226 and 4.257 GeV

A neutral structure in the $D\bar{D}^{*}$ system around the $D\bar{D}^{*}$ mass threshold is observed with a statistical significance greater than 10$σ$ in the processes $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrow D^{+}D^{*-}π^{0}+c.c.$ and $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrow D^{0}\bar{D}^{*0}π^{0}+c.c.$ at $\sqrt{s}$ = 4.226 and 4.257 GeV in the BESIII experiment. Assuming the presence of a resonance, its pole mass and width are determined to be ($3885.7^{+4.3}_{-5.7}$(stat)$\pm 8.4$(syst)) MeV/$c^{2}$ and ($35^{+11}_{-12}$(stat)$ \pm 15$(syst)) MeV, respectively. The Born cross sections are measured to be $σ(e^{+}e^{-}\to Z_{c}(3885)^{0}π^{0}, Z_{c}(3885)^{0} \to D\bar{D}^{*})=(77 \pm 13$(stat)$\pm 17$(syst)) pb at 4.226 GeV and ($47 \pm 9$(stat)$ \pm 10$(syst)) pb at 4.257 GeV. Observation of the electromagnetic doubly OZI-suppressed decay $J/ψ\rightarrow ϕπ^{0}$

Using a sample of $1.31$ billion $J/ψ$ events accumulated with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, we report the observation of the decay $J/ψ\rightarrow ϕπ^{0}$, which is the first evidence for a doubly Okubo-Zweig-Iizuka suppressed electromagnetic $J/ψ$ decay. Study of $e^+e^-\toωχ_{cJ}$ at center-of-mass energies from 4.21 to 4.42 GeV

Based on data samples collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider at 9 center-of-mass energies from 4.21 to 4.42 GeV, we search for the production of $e^+e^-\to ωχ_{cJ}$ ($J$=0, 1, 2). The process $e^+e^-\to ωχ_{c0}$ is observed for the first time, and the Born cross sections at $\sqrt{s}$=4.23 and 4.26 GeV are measured to be $(55.4\pm 6.0\pm 5.9)$ and $(23.7\pm 5.3\pm 3.5)$ pb, respectively, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic. The $ωχ_{c0}$ signals at the other 7 energies and $e^+e^-\to ωχ_{c1}$ and $ωχ_{c2}$ signals are not significant, and the upper limits on the cross sections are determined. By examining the $ωχ_{c0}$ cross section as a function of center-of-mass energy, we find that it is inconsistent with the line shape of the $Y(4260)$ observed in $e^+ e^-\toπ^+π^-J/ψ$. Assuming the $ωχ_{c0}$ signals come from a single resonance, we extract mass and width of the resonance to be $(4230\pm8\pm6)$ MeV/$c^2$ and $(38\pm12\pm2)$ MeV, respectively, and the statistical significance is more than $9σ$.

In an analysis of a 2.92~fb$^{-1}$ data sample taken at 3.773~GeV with the BESIII detector operated at the BEPCII collider, we measure the absolute decay branching fractions to be $\mathcal B(D^0 \to K^-e^+ν_e)=(3.505\pm 0.014 \pm 0.033)\%$ and $\mathcal B(D^0 \to π^-e^+ν_e)=(0.295\pm 0.004\pm 0.003)\%$. From a study of the differential decay rates we obtain the products of hadronic form factor and the magnitude of the CKM matrix element $f_{+}^K(0)|V_{cs}|=0.7172\pm0.0025\pm 0.0035$ and $f_{+}^π(0)|V_{cd}|=0.1435\pm0.0018\pm 0.0009$. Combining these products with the values of $|V_{cs(d)}|$ from the SM constraint fit, we extract the hadronic form factors $f^K_+(0) = 0.7368\pm0.0026\pm 0.0036$ and $f^π_+(0) = 0.6372\pm0.0080\pm 0.0044$, and their ratio $f_+^π(0)/f_+^{K}(0)=0.8649\pm 0.0112\pm 0.0073$. These form factors and their ratio are used to test unquenched Lattice QCD calculations of the form factors and a light cone sum rule (LCSR) calculation of their ratio. The measured value of $f_+^{K(π)}(0) |V_{cs(d)}|$ and the lattice QCD value for $f^{K(π)}_+(0)$ are used to extract values of the CKM matrix elements of $|V_{cs}|=0.9601 \pm 0.0033 \pm 0.0047 \pm 0.0239$ and $|V_{cd}|=0.2155 \pm 0.0027 \pm 0.0014 \pm 0.0094$, where the third errors are due to the uncertainties in lattice QCD calculations of the form factors. Using the LCSR value for $f_+^π(0)/f_+^K(0)$, we determine the ratio $|V_{cd}|/|V_{cs}|=0.238\pm 0.004\pm 0.002\pm 0.011$, where the third error is from the uncertainty in the LCSR normalization. In addition, we measure form factor parameters for three different theoretical models that describe the weak hadronic charged currents for these two semileptonic decays. All of these measurements are the most precise to date.

Amplitude Analysis of the $D^+ \to K^0_S π^+ π^0$ Dalitz Plot

We perform an analysis of the $D^+ \to K^0_S π^+ π^0$ Dalitz plot using a data set of 2.92 fb$^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ collisions at the $ψ(3770)$ mass accumulated by the BESIII Experiment, in which 166694 candidate events are selected with a background of 15.1%. The Dalitz plot is found to be well-represented by a combination of six quasi-two-body decay channels ($K^0_Sρ^+$, $K^0_Sρ(1450)^+$, $\overline{K}^{*0}π^+$, $\overline{K}_0(1430)^0π^+$, $\overline{K}(1680)^0π^+$, $\overlineκ^0π^+$) plus a small non-resonant component. Using the fit fractions from this analysis, partial branching ratios are updated with higher precision than previous measurements.

Evidence for $e^+e^-\toγχ_{c1, 2}$ at center-of-mass energies from 4.009 to 4.360 GeV

Using data samples collected at center-of-mass energies of $\sqrt{s}$ = 4.009, 4.230, 4.260, and 4.360 GeV with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII collider, we perform a search for the process $e^+e^-\toγχ_{cJ}$ $(J = 0, 1, 2)$ and find evidence for $e^+e^-\toγχ_{c1}$ and $e^+e^-\toγχ_{c2}$ with statistical significances of 3.0$σ$ and 3.4$σ$, respectively. The Born cross sections $σ^{B}(e^+e^-\toγχ_{cJ})$, as well as their upper limits at the 90% confidence level are determined at each center-of-mass energy.

Using $(106.41\pm 0.86) \times 10^{6}$ $ψ(3686)$ events collected with the BESIII detector at BEPCII, we study for the first time the decay $χ_{cJ}\toη'K^+K^-$, where $η'\toγρ^{0}$ and $η'\toηπ^+π^-$. A partial wave analysis in the covariant tensor amplitude formalism is performed for the decay $χ_{c1}\toη'K^+K^-$. Intermediate processes $χ_{c1}\toη' f_0(980)$, $χ_{c1}\toη' f_0(1710)$, $χ_{c1}\toη' f_2'(1525)$ and $χ_{c1}\to K^*_0(1430)^{\pm}K^{\mp}$ ($K^*_0(1430)^{\pm}\toη' K^{\pm}$) are observed with statistical significances larger than 5$σ$, and their branching fractions are measured.

Measurement of the $D\to K^-π^+$ strong phase difference in $ψ(3770)\to D^0\overline{D}{}^0$

We study $D^0\overline{D}{}^0$ pairs produced in $e^+e^-$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}=3.773$ GeV using a data sample of 2.92 fb$^{-1}$ collected with the BESIII detector. We measure the asymmetry $\mathcal{A}^{CP}_{Kπ}$ of the branching fractions of $D \to K^-π^+$ in $CP$-odd and $CP$-even eigenstates to be $(12.7\pm1.3\pm0.7)\times10^{-2}$. $\mathcal{A}^{CP}_{Kπ}$ can be used to extract the strong phase difference $δ_{Kπ}$ between the doubly Cabibbo-suppressed process $\overline{D}{}^{0}\to K^-π^+$ and the Cabibbo-favored process $D^0\to K^- π^+$. Using world-average values of external parameters, we obtain $\cosδ_{Kπ} = 1.02\pm0.11\pm0.06\pm0.01$. Here, the first and second uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively, while the third uncertainty arises from the external parameters. This is the most precise measurement of $δ_{Kπ}$ to date.

Measurement of the branching fraction for $ψ(3686)\toωK^+ K^-$

With $1.06\times 10^8$ $ψ(3686)$ events collected with the BESIII detector, the branching fraction of $ψ(3686) \to ωK^+ K^-$ is measured to be $(1.54 \pm 0.04 \pm 0.11) \times 10^{-4}$. This is the most precise result to date, due to the largest $ψ(3686)$ sample, improved signal reconstruction efficiency, good simulation of the detector performance, and a more accurate knowledge of the continuum contribution. Using the branching fraction of $J/ψ\to ωK^+ K^-$, the ratio $\mathcal{B}(ψ(3868) \to K^+K^-) / \mathcal{B}(J/ψ\to K^+K^-)$ is determined to be $(18.4 \pm 3.7)\,\%$. This constitutes a significantly improved test of the $12\,\%$ rule, with the uncertainty now dominated by the $J/ψ$ branching fraction.

The measured mass of the $X(3872)$ is ($3871.9\pm 0.7_{\rm stat.}\pm 0.2_{\rm sys.}$) MeV/$c^2$, in agreement with previous measurements. Measurements of the product of the cross section $σ[e^{+} e^{-} \to γX(3872)]$ and the branching fraction $\mathcal{B}[X(3872) \to π^{+} π^{-} J/ψ]$ at center-of-mass energies 4.009, 4.229, 4.260, and 4.360 GeV are reported. Observation of a charged charmoniumlike structure in $e^+e^- \to (D^{*} \bar{D}^{*})^{\pm} π^\mp$ at $\sqrt{s}=4.26$GeV

We study the process $e^+e^- \to (D^{*} \bar{D}^{*})^{\pm} π^\mp$ at a center-of-mass energy of 4.26GeV using a 827pb$^{-1}$ data sample obtained with the BESIII detector at the Beijing Electron Positron Collider. Based on a partial reconstruction technique, the Born cross section is measured to be $(137\pm9\pm15)$pb. We observe a structure near the $(D^{*} \bar{D}^{*})^{\pm}$ threshold in the $π^\mp$ recoil mass spectrum, which we denote as the $Z^{\pm}_c(4025)$. The measured mass and width of the structure are $(4026.3\pm2.6\pm3.7)$MeV/c$^2$ and $(24.8\pm5.6\pm7.7)$MeV, respectively. Its production ratio $\frac{σ(e^+e^-\to Z^{\pm}_c(4025)π^\mp \to (D^{*} \bar{D}^{*})^{\pm} π^\mp)}{σ(e^+e^-\to (D^{*} \bar{D}^{*})^{\pm} π^\mp)}$ is determined to be $0.65\pm0.09\pm0.06$. Observation of two new $N^*$ resonances in $ψ(3686) \rightarrow p\bar{p}π^0$

Based on 106$\times10^6 ψ(3686)$ events collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII facility, a partial wave analysis of $ψ(3686)\rightarrow p\bar{p}π^0$ is performed. The branching fraction of this channel has been determined to be $B(ψ(3686)\rightarrow p\bar{p}π^0) = (1.65\pm0.03\pm0.15)\times 10^{-4}$. In this decay, 7 $N^*$ intermediate resonances are observed. Among these $N^*$ resonances, two new resonances are significant, one $1/2^+$ resonance with a mass of $2300^{+40}_{-30}$$^{+109}_{-0}$ $\mathrm{MeV}/c^2$ and width of $340^{+30}_{-30}$$^{+110}_{-58}$ $\mathrm{MeV}/c^2$, and one $5/2^-$ resonance with a mass of $2570^{+19}_{-10}$$^{+34}_{-10}$ $\mathrm{MeV}/c^2$ and width of $250^{+14}_{-24}$$^{+69}_{-21}$ $\mathrm{MeV}/c^2$. For the remaining 5 $N^*$ intermediate resonances, the analysis yields mass and width values which are consistent with those from established resonances.

Precision measurements of $B(D^+ \rightarrow μ^+ ν_μ)$, the pseudoscalar decay constant $f_{D^+}$, and the quark mixing matrix element $|V_{\rm cd}|$

We report a measurement of the branching fraction $B(D^+ \rightarrow μ^+ ν_μ) = [3.71 \pm 0.19 (\rm stat) \pm 0.06 (\rm sys)]\times 10^{-4}$ based on 2.92 ${\rm fb^{-1}}$ of data accumulated at $\sqrt{s}=3.773$ GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider. This measurement, in conjunction with the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element $|V_{\rm cd}|$ determined from a global Standard Model fit, implies a value for the weak decay constant $f_{D^+}=(203.2 \pm 5.3 \pm 1.8)$ MeV. Additionally, using this branching fraction measurement together with a Lattice QCD prediction for $f_{D^+}$, we find $|V_{\rm cd}|=0.2210\pm 0.0058 \pm 0.0047$. In either case, these are the most precise results for these quantities to date.

We study the process e+e- to pi+pi-J/psi at a center-of-mass energy of 4.260 GeV using a 525 pb^{-1} data sample collected with the BESIII detector operating at the Beijing Electron Positron Collider. The Born cross section is measured to be (62.9\pm 1.9\pm 3.7) pb, consistent with the production of the Y(4260). Its production ratio is measured to be R=\frac{σ(e+e- to π^\pm Z_c(3900)^\mp to pi+pi-J/psi))} {σ(e+e- to pi+pi-J/psi)}=(21.5\pm 3.3\pm 7.5)%. We obtain ${\cal B}[ψ(3686) \to π^+π^-J/ψ]=(34.98\pm 0.02\pm 0.45)%$, ${\cal B}[J/ψ\to e^+e^-] = (5.983 \pm 0.007 \pm 0.037)%$ and ${\cal B}[J/ψ\to μ^+μ^-] = (5.973 \pm 0.007 \pm 0.038)%$. The measurement of ${\cal B}[ψ(3686) \to π^{+}π^{-}J/ψ]$ confirms the CLEO-c measurement, and is apparently larger than the others. The measured $J/ψ$ leptonic decay branching fractions agree with previous experiments within one standard deviation. These results lead to ${\cal B}[J/ψ\to l^+l^-] = (5.978 \pm 0.005 \pm 0.040)%$ by averaging over the $e^{+}e^{-}$ and $μ^{+}μ^{-}$ channels and a ratio of ${\cal B}[J/ψ\to e^+e^-] / {\cal B}[J/ψ\to μ^+μ^-] = 1.0017 \pm 0.0017 \pm 0.0033$, which tests $e$-$μ$ universality at the four tenths of a percent level. Search for a light exotic particle in J/psi radiative decays

Using a data sample containing 1.06x10^8 psi' events collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII electron-positron collider, we search for a light exotic particle X in the process psi' -> pi^+ pi^- J/psi, J/psi -> gamma X, X -> mu^+ mu^-. In this analysis, we find no evidence for any mu^+mu^- mass peak between the mass threshold and 3.0 GeV/c^2. We set 90%-confidence-level upper limits on the product-branching fractions for J/psi -> gamma A^0, A^0 -> mu^+ mu^- which range from 4x10^{-7} to 2.1x10^{-5}, depending on the mass of A^0, for M(A^0)<3.0 GeV/c^2. One is the search for baryonic decays of $ψ(3770)$ and $ψ(4040)$, including $Λ\barΛπ^+π^-$, $Λ\barΛπ^0$, $Λ\barΛη$, $Σ^+ \barΣ^-$, $Σ^0 \barΣ^0$, $Ξ^-\barΞ^+$ and $Ξ^0\barΞ^0$. None are observed, and upper limits are set at the 90% confidence level. The other is the light hadron spectroscopy from charmonium radiative decays, including the spin-parity analysis of the $p\bar p$ mass-threshold enhancement in $J/ψ$ radiative decays and the $ηη$ system in $J/ψ\toγηη$ radiative decays.

Evidence for the Direct Two-Photon Transition from $ψ(3686)$ to $J/ψ$

The two-photon transition $ψ(3686)\toγγJ/ψ$ is studied in a sample of 106 million $ψ(3686)$ decays collected by the BESIII detector. The branching fraction is measured to be $(3.1\pm0.6(\unit{stat})^{+0.8}_{-1.0}(\unit{syst})) \times10^{-4}$ using $J/ψ\to e^+e^-$ and $J/ψ\toμ^+μ^-$ decays, and its upper limit is estimated to be $4.5\times10^{-4}$ at the 90% conference level. This work represents the first measurement of a two-photon transition among charmonium states. The orientation of the $ψ(3686)$ decay plane and the $J/ψ$ polarization in this decay are also studied. In addition, the product branching fractions of sequential $E1$ transitions $ψ(3686)\toγχ_{cJ}, χ_{cJ}\toγJ/ψ(J=0,1,2)$ are reported.

First observation of $η(1405)$ decays into $f_{0}(980)π^0$

The decays $J/ψ\rightarrow γπ^+π^-π^0$ and $J/ψ\rightarrow γπ^0π^0π^0$ are analyzed using a sample of 225 million $\jpsi$ events collected with the BESIII detector. The decay of $η(1405)\ar f_{0}(980)π^0$ with a large isospin violation is observed for the first time. The width of the $f_{0}(980)$ observed in the dipion mass spectra is anomalously narrower than the world average. Decay rates for three-pion decays of the $η'$ are also measured precisely.

Measurements of the branching fractions for J/psi and psi(2S) -> Lambda Lambdabar pi0 and Lambda Lambdabar eta

We report on a study of the isospin-violating and conserving decays of the J/psi and psi(2S) charmonium state to Lambda Lambdabar pi0 and Lambda Lambdabar eta, respectively. The data are based on 225 million J/psi and 106 million psi(2S) events that were collected with the BESIII detector. The most accurate measurement of the branching fraction of the isospin-violating process J/psi ->Lambda Lambdabar pi0 is obtained, and the isospin-conserving processes J/psi ->Lambda Lambdabar eta and psi(2S) ->Lambda Lambdabar eta are observed for the first time. The branching fractions are measured to be B(J/psi ->Lambda Lambdabar pi0) = (3.78+-0.27stat)+-0.29sys)10^-5; B(J/psi ->Lambda Lambdabar eta) = (15.7+-0.79stat+-1.52sys)10^-5 and B(psi(2S) ->Lambda Lambdabar eta)= (2.47+-0.34stat+-0.19sys)10^-5. No significant signal events are observed for psi(2S) ->Lambda Lambdabar pi0 decay resulting in an upper limit of the branching fraction of B(psi(2S) ->Lambda Lambdabar pi0) < 0.29X10^-5 at the 90% confidence level. The two-body decay of J/psi-> Sigma(1385)^0 Lambdabar + c.c. is searched for, and the upper limit is B(J/psi-> Sigma(1385)^0 Lambdabar + c.c.) < 0.81X 10^-5 at the 90% confidence level.

Measurements of the mass and width of the eta_c using psi' -> gamma eta_c

The mass and width of the lowest lying S-wave spin singlet charmonium state, the eta_c, are measured using a data sample of 1.06x10^8 psi' decays collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII storage ring. We use a model that incorporates interference between the signal reaction, psi' -> gamma eta_c, and a non-resonant radiative background to successfully describe the line shape of the eta_c. We measure the eta_c mass to be 2984.3 +- 0.6 +- 0.6 MeV/c^2 and the total width to be 32.0 +- 1.2 +- 1.0 MeV, where the first errors are statistical and the second are systematic.

Observation of chi_{cJ} Decays to ΛΛbarπ^{+}π^{-}

Decays of the chi_{cJ} states (J=0,\ 1,\ 2) to ΛΛbar\ pi^{+} π^{-}, including processes with intermediate Σ(1385), are studied through the E1 transition psi'-->γchi_{cJ} using 106 million psi' events collected with the BESIII detector at BEPCII. This is the first observation of chi_{cJ} decays to the final state ΛΛbar π^{+}π^{-}. The branching ratio of the intermediate process chi_{cJ}-->Σ(1385)^{+/-} \barΣ(1385)^{-/+} is also measured for the first time, and the results agree with the theoretical predictions based on the color-octet effect.

Precision measurement of the branching fractions of J/psi -> pi+pi-pi0 and psi' -> pi+pi-pi0

We study the decays of the J/psi and psi' mesons to pi+pi-pi0 using data samples at both resonances collected with the BES III detector in 2009. We measure the corresponding branching fractions with unprecedented precision and provide mass spectra and Dalitz plots. The branching fraction for J/psi -> pi+pi-pi0 is determined to be (2.137 +- 0.004 (stat.) +0.058-0.056 (syst.) +0.027-0.026 (norm.))*10-2, and the branching fraction for psi' -> pi+pi-pi0 is measured as (2.14 +- 0.03 (stat.) +0.08-0.07 (syst.) +0.09-0.08 (norm.))*10-4. The J/psi decay is found to be dominated by an intermediate rho(770) state, whereas the psi' decay is dominated by di-pion masses around 2.2 GeV/c2, leading to strikingly different Dalitz distributions.

Study of $J/ψ\to p\bar{p}$ and $J/ψ\to n\bar{n}$

The decays $J/ψ\to p\bar{p}$ and $J/ψ\to n\bar{n}$ have been investigated with a sample of 225.2 million $J/ψ$ events collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII $e^+e^-$ collider. The branching fractions are determined to be $\mathcal{B}(J/ψ\to p\bar{p})=(2.112\pm0.004\pm0.031)\times10^{-3}$ and $\mathcal{B}(J/ψ\to n\bar{n})=(2.07\pm0.01\pm0.17)\times10^{-3}$. Distributions of the angle $θ$ between the proton or anti-neutron and the beam direction are well described by the form $1+α\cos^2θ$, and we find $α=0.595\pm0.012\pm0.015$ for $J/ψ\to p\bar{p}$ and $α=0.50\pm0.04\pm0.21$ for $J/ψ\to n\bar{n}$. Our branching-fraction results suggest a large phase angle between the strong and electromagnetic amplitudes describing the $J/ψ\to N\bar{N}$ decay.

Two-photon widths of the $χ_{c0, 2}$ states and helicity analysis for $χ_{c2}\arγγ$}

Based on a data sample of 106 M $ψ^{\prime}$ events collected with the BESIII detector, the decays $ψ^{\prime}\arγχ_{c0, 2}$,$χ_{c0, 2}\arγγ$ are studied to determine the two-photon widths of the $χ_{c0, 2}$ states. The two-photon decay branching fractions are determined to be ${\cal B}(χ_{c0}\arγγ) = (2.24\pm 0.19\pm 0.12\pm 0.08)\times 10^{-4}$ and ${\cal B}(χ_{c2}\arγγ) = (3.21\pm 0.18\pm 0.17\pm 0.13)\times 10^{-4}$. From these, the two-photon widths are determined to be $Γ_{γγ}(χ_{c0}) = (2.33\pm0.20\pm0.13\pm0.17)$ keV, $Γ_{γγ}(χ_{c2}) = (0.63\pm0.04\pm0.04\pm0.04)$ keV, and $\cal R$ $=Γ_{γγ}(χ_{c2})/Γ_{γγ}(χ_{c0})=0.271\pm 0.029\pm 0.013\pm 0.027$, where the uncertainties are statistical, systematic, and those from the PDG ${\cal B}(ψ^{\prime}\arγχ_{c0,2})$ and $Γ(χ_{c0,2})$ errors, respectively. The ratio of the two-photon widths for helicity $λ=0$ and helicity $λ=2$ components in the decay $χ_{c2}\arγγ$ is measured for the first time to be $f_{0/2} =Γ^{λ=0}_{γγ}(χ_{c2})/Γ^{λ=2}_{γγ}(χ_{c2}) = 0.00\pm0.02\pm0.02$.

Higher-order multipole amplitude measurement in $ψ(2S)\toγχ_{c2}$

Using $106\times10^6$ $ψ(2S)$ events collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII storage ring, the higher-order multipole amplitudes in the radiative transition $ψ(2S)\toγχ_{c2}\toγππ/γKK$ are measured. A fit to the $χ_{c2}$ production and decay angular distributions yields $M2=0.046\pm0.010\pm0.013$ and $E3=0.015\pm0.008\pm0.018$, where the first errors are statistical and the second systematic. Here $M2$ denotes the normalized magnetic quadrupole amplitude and $E3$ the normalized electric octupole amplitude. This measurement shows evidence for the existence of the $M2$ signal with $4.4σ$ statistical significance and is consistent with the charm quark having no anomalous magnetic moment.

Observation of χ_{cJ} decaying into the p\bar{p}K^{+}K^{-} final state

First measurements of the decays of the three $χ_{cJ}$ states to $p\bar{p}K^{+}K^{-}$ final states are presented. Intermediate $ϕ\to K^{+}K^{-}$ and $Λ(1520)\to pK^{-}$ resonance states are observed, and branching fractions for $χ_{cJ}\to \bar{p}K^{+}Λ(1520)$, $Λ(1520) \barΛ(1520)$, and $ϕp\bar{p}$ are reported. We also measure branching fractions for direct $χ_{cJ}\to p\bar{p} K^{+}K^{-}$ decays. These are first observations of $χ_{cJ}$ decays to unstable baryon resonances and provide useful information about the $χ_{cJ}$ states. The experiment uses samples of $χ_{cJ}$ mesons produced via radiative transitions from 106 million $ψ^{\prime}$ mesons collected in the BESIII detector at the BEPCII $e^+e^-$ collider.

Spin-Parity Analysis of ppbar Mass Threshold Structure in J/psi and psi' Radiative Decays

A partial wave analysis of the $p \bar{p}$ mass-threshold enhancement in the reaction $J/ψ\rightarrowγp\bar{p}$ is used to determine: its $J^{PC}$ quantum numbers to be $0^{-+}$; its peak mass to be below threshold at $M=1832^{+19}_{-5} {\rm(stat.)}^{+18}_{-17} {\rm (syst.)}\pm19 {\rm (model)} {\rm MeV}/c^2$; and its total width to be $Γ<76 {\rm MeV}/c^2$ at the 90% C.L. The product branching ratio is measured to be $B(J/ψ\rightarrowγX(p\bar{p}))B(X(p\bar{p})\rightarrow p\bar{p})=(9.0^{+0.4}_{-1.1} {\rm (stat.)}^{+1.5}_{-5.0} {\rm (syst.)}\pm2.3 {\rm (model)})\times10^{-5}$. A similar analysis performed on $ψ^\prime\rightarrowγp\bar{p}$ decays shows, for the first time, the presence of a corresponding enhancement with a production rate relative to that for $J/ψ$ decays of $R=(5.08^{+0.71}_{-0.45} {\rm (stat.)}^{+0.67}_{-3.58} {\rm (syst.)}\pm0.12 {\rm (model)})%$.

Study of $χ_{cJ}$ radiative decays into a vector meson

The decays $χ_{cJ}\toγV$ ($V=ϕ, ρ^0, ω$) are studied with a sample of radiative $\psip\toγχ_{cJ}$ events in a sample of $(1.06\pm0.04)\times 10^{8} \psip$ events collected with the BESIII detector. The branching fractions are determined to be: ${\cal B}(χ_{c1}\to γϕ)=(25.8\pm 5.2\pm 2.3)\times 10^{-6}$, ${\cal B}(χ_{c1}\to γρ^0)=(228\pm 13\pm 22)\times 10^{-6}$, and ${\cal B}(χ_{c1}\to γω)=(69.7\pm 7.2\pm 6.6)\times 10^{-6}$. The decay $χ_{c1}\to γϕ$ is observed for the first time. Upper limits at the 90% confidence level on the branching fractions for $χ_{c0}$ and $\chict$ decays into these final states are determined. In addition, the fractions of the transverse polarization component of the vector meson in $χ_{c1}\to γV$ decays are measured to be $0.29_{-0.12-0.09}^{+0.13+0.10}$ for $χ_{c1}\to γϕ$, $0.158\pm 0.034^{+0.015}_{-0.014}$ for $χ_{c1}\to γρ^0$, and $0.247_{-0.087-0.026}^{+0.090+0.044}$ for $χ_{c1}\to γω$, respectively. The first errors are statistical and the second ones are systematic.

Confirmation of the X(1835) and observation of the resonances X(2120) and X(2370) in J/psi->gamma pi^+pi^-eta'

With a sample of (225.2\pm2.8)*10^{6} J/psi events registered in the BESIII detector, J/psi->gamma pi^+ pi^- eta' is studied using two eta' decay modes: eta'->pi^+ pi^- eta and eta' -> gamma rho^0. The X(1835), which was previously observed by BESII, is confirmed with a statistical significance that is larger than 20σ. In addition, in the pi^+pi^-eta' invariant mass spectrum, the X(2120) and the X(2370), are observed with statistical significances larger than 7.2σand 6.4σ, respectively. For the X(1835), the angular distribution of the radiative photon is consistent with expectations for a pseudoscalar.
