A refined multiplication formula for cluster characters

We obtain a multiplication formula for cluster characters on (stably) 2-Calabi-Yau (Frobenius or) triangulated categories. This formula generalizes those known for arbitrary pairs of objects and for Auslander-Reiten triangles. As an application, we show that for cluster algebras of acyclic types, specialization of a cluster variable to 1 sends all cluster variables to elements of a cluster algebra of smaller rank. We also obtain application to the reduction of friezes of acyclic type.

On Leclerc's conjectural cluster structures for open Richardson varieties

In 2016, Leclerc constructed conjectural cluster structures on open Richardson varieties using representations of preprojective algebras. A variant with more explicit seeds was obtained by Ménard in his thesis. We show that Ménard's seeds do yield *upper* cluster algebra structures on open Richardson varieties and discuss the problems that remain in order to prove that they are cluster algebra structures.

Tame algebras have dense $\mathbf{g}$-vector fans

The $\mathbf{g}$-vector fan of a finite-dimensional algebra is a fan whose rays are the $\mathbf{g}$-vectors of its $2$-term presilting objects. We prove that the $\mathbf{g}$-vector fan of a tame algebra is dense. We then apply this result to obtain a near classification of quivers for which the closure of the cluster $\mathbf{g}$-vector fan is dense or is a half-space, using the additive categorification of cluster algebras by means of Jacobian algebras. As another application, we prove that for quivers with potentials arising from once-punctured closed surfaces, the stability and cluster scattering diagrams only differ by wall-crossing functions on the walls contained in a separating hyperplane. The appendix is devoted to the construction of truncated twist functors and their adjoints.

Desingularizations of quiver Grassmannians via graded quiver varieties

Inspired by recent work of Cerulli-Feigin-Reineke on desingularizations of quiver Grassmannians of representations of Dynkin quivers, we obtain desingularizations in considerably more general situations and in particular for Grassmannians of modules over iterated tilted algebras of Dynkin type. Our desingularization map is constructed from Nakajima's desingularization map for graded quiver varieties.

Graded quiver varieties and derived categories

Inspired by recent work of Hernandez-Leclerc and Leclerc-Plamondon we investigate the link between Nakajima's graded affine quiver varieties associated with an acyclic connected quiver Q and the derived category of Q. As Leclerc-Plamondon have shown, the points of these varieties can be interpreted as representations of a category, which we call the (singular) Nakajima category S. We determine the quiver of S and the number of minimal relations between any two given vertices. We construct a delta-functor Phi taking each finite-dimensional representation of S to an object of the derived category of Q. We show that the functor Phi establishes a bijection between the strata of the graded affine quiver varieties and the isomorphism classes of objects in the image of Phi. If the underlying graph of Q is an ADE Dynkin diagram, the image is the whole derived category; otherwise, it is the category of "line bundles over the non commutative curve given by Q". We show that the degeneration order between strata corresponds to Jensen-Su-Zimmermann's degeneration order on objects of the derived category. Moreover, if Q is an ADE Dynkin quiver, the singular category S is weakly Gorenstein of dimension 1 and its derived category of singularities is equivalent to the derived category of Q.

Cluster algebras and derived categories

This is an introductory survey on cluster algebras and their (additive) categorification using derived categories of Ginzburg algebras. After a gentle introduction to cluster combinatorics, we review important examples of coordinate rings admitting a cluster algebra structure. We then present the general definition of a cluster algebra and describe the interplay between cluster variables, coefficients, c-vectors and g-vectors. We show how c-vectors appear in the study of quantum cluster algebras and their links to the quantum dilogarithm. We then present the framework of additive categorification of cluster algebras based on the notion of quiver with potential and on the derived category of the associated Ginzburg algebra. We show how the combinatorics introduced previously lift to the categorical level and how this leads to proofs, for cluster algebras associated with quivers, of some of Fomin-Zelevinsky's fundamental conjectures.

On cluster theory and quantum dilogarithm identities

These are expanded notes from three survey lectures given at the 14th International Conference on Representations of Algebras (ICRA XIV) held in Tokyo in August 2010. We first study identities between products of quantum dilogarithm series associated with Dynkin quivers following Reineke. We then examine similar identities for quivers with potential and link them to Fomin-Zelevinsky's theory of cluster algebras. Here we mainly follow ideas due to Bridgeland, Fock-Goncharov, Kontsevich-Soibelman and Nagao.

Weight structures and simple dg modules for positive dg algebras

Using techniques due to Dwyer-Greenlees-Iyengar we construct weight structures in triangulated categories generated by compact objects. We apply our result to show that, for a dg category whose homology vanishes in negative degrees and is semi-simple in degree 0, each simple module over the homology lifts to a dg module which is unique up to isomorphism in the derived category. This allows us, in certain situations, to deduce the existence of a canonical t-structure on the perfect derived category of a dg algebra. From this, we can obtain a bijection between hearts of t-structures and sets of so-called simple-minded objects for some dg algebras (including Ginzburg algebras associated to quivers with potentials). In three appendices, we elucidate the relation between Milnor colimits and homotopy colimits and clarify the construction of t-structures from sets of compact objects in triangulated categories as well as the construction of a canonical weight structure on the unbonded derived category of a non positive dg category.

Algèbres amassées et applications

Sergey Fomin and Andrei Zelevinsky have invented cluster algebras at the beginning of this decade with the aim of creating an algebraic framework for the study of canonical bases in quantum groups and total positivity in algebraic groups. It soon turned out that the combinatorics of cluster algebras also appear in many other subjects and notably in the representation theory of quivers and finite-dimensional algebras. In this talk, we give a concise introduction to cluster algebras and sketch two significant applications concerning the study of certain discrete dynamical systems and the construction of dual semicanonical bases.

Cluster algebras, quiver representations and triangulated categories

This is an introduction to some aspects of Fomin-Zelevinsky's cluster algebras and their links with the representation theory of quivers and with Calabi-Yau triangulated categories. It is based on lectures given by the author at summer schools held in 2006 (Bavaria) and 2008 (Jerusalem). In addition to by now classical material, we present the outline of a proof of the periodicity conjecture for pairs of Dynkin diagrams (details will appear elsewhere) and recent results on the interpretation of mutations as derived equivalences.

Periodicities of T and Y-systems, dilogarithm identities, and cluster algebras I: Type B_r

We prove the periodicities of the restricted T and Y-systems associated with the quantum affine algebra of type B_r at any level. We also prove the dilogarithm identities for the Y-systems of type B_r at any level. Our proof is based on the tropical Y-systems and the categorification of the cluster algebra associated with any skew-symmetric matrix by Plamondon. Using this new method, we also give an alternative and simplified proof of the periodicities of the T and Y-systems associated with pairs of simply laced Dynkin diagrams.

We prove the periodicities of the restricted T and Y-systems associated with the quantum affine algebra of type C_r, F_4, and G_2 at any level. We also prove the dilogarithm identities for these Y-systems at any level. Our proof is based on the tropical Y-systems and the categorification of the cluster algebra associated with any skew-symmetric matrix by Plamondon.

On two examples by Iyama and Yoshino

In the recent paper "Mutation in triangulated categories and rigid Cohen-Macaulay modules" Iyama and Yoshino consider two interesting examples of isolated singularities over which it is possible to classify the indecomposable maximal Cohen-Macaulay modules in terms of linear algebra data. In this paper we present two new approaches to these examples. In the first approach we give a relation with cluster categories. In the second approach we use Orlov's result on the graded singularity category. We obtain some new results on the singularity category of isolated singularities which may be interesting in their own right.

Acyclic Calabi-Yau categories

We show that an algebraic 2-Calabi-Yau triangulated category over an algebraically closed field is a cluster category if it contains a cluster tilting subcategory whose quiver has no oriented cycles. We prove a similar characterization for higher cluster categories. As a first application, we show that the stable category of maximal Cohen-Macaulay modules over a certain isolated singularity of dimension three is a cluster category. As a second application, we prove the non-acyclicity of the quivers of endomorphism algebras of cluster-tilting objects in the stable categories of representation-infinite preprojective algebras. In the appendix, Michel Van den Bergh gives an alternative proof of the main theorem by appealing to the universal property of the triangulated orbit category.

Cluster tilting for one-dimensional hypersurface singularities

In this article we study Cohen-Macaulay modules over one-dimensional hypersurface singularities and the relationship with the representation theory of associative algebras using methods of cluster tilting theory. We give a criterion for existence of cluster tilting objects and their complete description by homological methods, using higher almost split sequences and results from birational geometry. We obtain a large class of 2-CY tilted algebras which are finite dimensional symmetric and satisfy $τ^2=\id$. In particular, we compute 2-CY tilted algebras for simple and minimally elliptic curve singularities.
