Smeared Mass Source Wormholes in Modified $f(R)$ Gravity with the Lorentzian Density Distribution Function

Wormholes are speculative structures linking disparate space-time points. Their geometry can be obtained by solving Einstein equations with tolerating the violation of null energy conditions. Recently, many researchers have studied different wormholes according to different criteria, and they achieved remarkable results. In this paper, we investigate a series of exact solutions of the static wormhole with smeared mass source geometry in modified $f(R)$ gravity theories. In fact, we consider the Lorentzian density distribution which is coming from a particle-like source. To be more specific, the modified gravity models we consider here are some power laws. We compute resulting solutions according to the wormhole field equations. We also specify parameters such as the radial pressure and transverse pressure as well as various energy conditions such as null energy conditions, weak energy conditions and strong energy conditions. Finally, by plotting some figures, in addition to identifying the wormhole throat, we describe the results of either the violation or the satisfaction of the energy conditions completely.

Traversable wormhole in logarithmic $f(R)$ gravity by various shape and redshift functions

We study the traversable wormhole solutions for a logarithmic corrected $f(R)$ model by considering two different statements of shape $b(r)$ and redshift $Φ(r)$ functions. We calculate the parameters of the model including energy density $ρ$, tangential pressure $P_{t}$ and radial pressure $P_{r}$ for the corresponding forms of the functions. Then, we investigate different energy conditions such as null energy condition, weak energy condition, dominant energy condition and strong energy condition for our considered cases. Finally, we explain the satisfactory conditions of energy of the models by related plots.

Extended Chaplygin Gas in Horava-Lifshitz Gravity

In this paper, we investigate cosmological models of the extended Chaplygin gas in a universe governed by Horava-Lifshitz gravity. The equation of state for an extended Chaplygin gas is a $(n+2)$-variable equation determined by $A_{n}$, $α$, and $B$. In this work, we are interested to the case of second order $(n=2)$ equation of state which recovers quadratic barotropic equation of state. In that case there are four free parameters. We solve conservation equation approximately and obtain energy density in terms of scale factor with mentioned free parameters. Under some assumptions we relate free parameters to each other to have only one free independent parameter $(A_{2})$. It help us to obtain explicit expression for energy density in terms of scale factor. The allowed values of the second order extended Chaplygin gas parameter is fixed using the recent astrophysical and cosmological observational data. Thermodynamics of the model investigated based on the first and second law of thermodynamics.

P - V Criticality of Logarithmic Corrected Dyonic Charged AdS Black Hole

In this paper, we consider dyonic charged AdS black hole which is holographic dual of a van der Waals fluid. We use logarithmic corrected entropy and study thermodynamics of the black hole and show that holographic picture is still valid. Critical behaviors and stability also discussed. Logarithmic corrections arises due to thermal fluctuations which are important when size of black hole be small. So, thermal fluctuations interpreted as quantum effect. It means that we can see quantum effect of a black hole which is a gravitational system.

A Universe with a generalized ghost dark energy and Van der Waals fluid interacting with a fluid

In this paper, we consider an unusual connection between different fluids. Having established a research goal we would like to consider a toy model of the Universe and investigate its behavior, especially for later time evolution for well known facts. The main goal of the article is to consider a toy model of the Universe with generalized ghost dark energy, Van der Waals gas and a phenomenologically modified fluid. The origin of the last component can be understood as a result of interaction between some original fluid and some source of energy or matter in Universe. By unusual connection we mean an assumption that generalized ghost dark energy has its contribution to the model by an interaction term $Q$ and we suppose an interaction of the form $Q=3Hb(ρ_{\small{tot}}-ρ_{GDe})$. Graphical analysis is performed and the questions of validity of the generalized second law of thermodynamics and stability of the model also approached in this paper.

Constructing an Inflaton Potential by Mimicking Modified Chaplygin Gas

In this paper, we considered an inflationary model that effectively behaves as a modified Chaplygin gas in the context of quintessence cosmology. We reconstructed the inflaton potential bottom-up and using the recent observational data we fixed the free parameters of the model. We showed that the modified Chaplygin gas inspired model is suitable for both the early and the late time acceleration but has shortcomings between the two periods.

STU/QCD Correspondence

In this review article we consider a special case of $D=5$, $\mathcal{N}=2$ supergravity called the STU model. We apply the gauge/gravity correspondence to the STU model to gain insight into properties of the quark-gluon plasma. Given that the quark-gluon plasma is in reality described by QCD, therefore we call our study STU/QCD correspondence. First, we investigate the thermodynamics and hydrodynamics of the STU background. Then we use dual picture of the theory, which is type IIB string theory, to obtain the drag force and jet-quenching parameter of an external probe quark.

The Klein-Gordon Equation of a Rotating Charged Hairy Black Hole in (2+1) Dimensions

In this paper, we consider the Klein-Gordon equation in a 3D charged rotating hairy black hole background to study behavior of a massive scalar field. In the general case we find periodic-like behavior for the scalar field which may be vanishes at the black hole horizon or far from the black hole horizon. For the special cases of non-rotating or near horizon approximation we find radial solution of Klein-Gordon equation in terms of hypergeometric and Kummer functions. Also for the case of uncharged black hole we find numerical solution of the Klein-Gordon equation as periodic function which may enhanced out of the black hole or vanish at horizon. We find allowed boundary conditions which yield to the identical bosons described by scalar field.

The universe dominated by the extended Chaplygin gas

In this paper, we consider a universe dominated by the extended Chaplygin gas which recently proposed as the last version of Chaplygin gas models. Here, we only consider the second order term which recovers quadratic barotropic fluid equation of state. The density perturbations analyzed in both relativistic and Newtonian regimes and show that the model is stable without any phase transition and critical point. We confirmed stability of the model using thermodynamics point of view.

Thermal Fluctuations in a Charged AdS Black Hole

In this paper, we will analyze the effects of thermal fluctuations on a charged AdS black hole. This will be done by analyzing the corrections to black hole thermodynamics due to these thermal fluctuations. We will demonstrate that the entropy of this black hole get corrected by logarithmic term. We will also calculate other corrections to other important thermodynamic quantities for this black hole. Finally, we will use the corrected value of the specific heat to analyze the phase transition in this system.

Unified universe history through phantom extended Chaplygin gas

We investigate the universe evolution from inflation to late-time acceleration in a unified way, using a two-component fluid constituted from extended Chaplygin gas alongside a phantom scalar field. We extract solutions for the various cosmological eras, focusing on the behavior of the scale factor, the various density parameters and the equation-of-state parameter. Furthermore, we extract and discuss bouncing solutions. Finally, we examine the perturbations of the model, ensuring about their stability and extracting the predictions for the tensor-to-scalar ratio.

An effective quintessence field with a power-law potential

In this paper, we consider an effective quintessence scalar field with a power-law potential interacting with a $P_{b}=ξqρ_{b}$ barotropic fluid as a first model, where $q$ is a deceleration parameter. For the second model we assume viscous polytropic gas interacting with the scalar field. We investigate problem numerically and analyze behavior of different cosmological parameter concerning to components and behavior of Universe. We also compare our results with observational data to fix parameters of the models. We find some instabilities in the first model which may disappear in the second model for the appropriate parameters. Therefore, we can propose interacting quintessence dark energy with viscous polytropic gas as a successful model to describe Universe.

FRW cosmology with the extended Chaplygin gas

In this paper, we propose extended Chaplygin gas equation of state for which it recovers barotropic fluid with quadratic equation of state. We use numerical method to investigate the behavior of some cosmological parameters such as scale factor, Hubble expansion parameter, energy density and deceleration parameter. We also discuss about the resulting effective equation of state parameter. Using density perturbations we investigate the stability of the theory.

Higher derivative corrections of $f(R)$ gravity with varying equation of state in the case of variable $G$ and $Λ$

In this paper, we study three models of f(R) modified gravity including higher order terms based on different equation of state parameter. We also assume variable G and $Λ$. By using numerical analysis, we obtain the behavior of some important cosmological parameters, like the Hubble expansion H parameter and the deceleration parameter q. The statefinder diagnostics is also performed for all models.

Higher order corrections of the extended Chaplygin gas cosmology with varying $G$ and $Λ$

In this paper, we study two different models of dark energy based on Chaplygin gas equation of state. The first model is the variable modified Chaplygin gas while the second one is the extended Chaplygin gas. Both models are considered in the framework of higher order $f(R)$ modified gravity. We also consider the case of time varying gravitational constant $G$ and $Λ$ for both models. We investigate some cosmological parameters such as the Hubble, the deceleration and the equation of state parameters. Then we showed that the model that we considered, extended Chaplygin gas with time-dependent $G$ and $Λ$, is consistent with the observational data. Finally we conclude with the discussion of cosmological perturbations of our model.

Interacting Holographic Extended Chaplygin Gas and Phantom Cosmology in the Light of BICEP2

In this paper, we study the holographic dark energy density and interacting extended Chaplygin gas energy density in the Einstein gravity. We reconstruct the scalar field and the scalar potential describing the extended Chaplygin gas. In the special case, we obtain energy density and investigate some cosmological parameters. Assuming interaction between components we find energy density for some different parametrization of total EoS. We analyze tensor to scalar ratio and use recent observational data of BICEP2 to fix the model parameters.

Interacting two-component fluid models with varying EoS parameter

In this paper, we consider Universe filled with two-component fluid. We study two different models. In the first model we assume barotropic fluid with the linear equation of state as the first component of total fluid. In the second model we assume Van der Waals gas as the first component of total fluid. In both models, the second component assumed generalized ghost dark energy. We consider also interaction between component and discuss, numerically, cosmological quantities for two different parametrization of EoS which varies with time. We consider this as a toy model of our Universe. We fix parameters of the model by using generalized second law of thermodynamics. Comparing our results with some observational data suggests interacting barotropic fluid with EoS parameter $ω(t)=ω_{0}\cos(tH)+ω_{1}t\frac{\dot{H}}{H}$ and generalized ghost dark energy as an appropriate model to describe our Universe.

$AdS_{5}$ black hole at N=2 supergravity

In this paper, we consider the charged non-extremal black hole at five dimensional N = 2 supergravity. We study thermodynamics of AdS_{5} black hole with three equal charges (q_{1} = q_{2} = q_{3} = q). We obtain Schrodinger like equation and discuss the effective potential. Then, we consider the case of the perturbed dilaton field background and find presence of odd coefficients of the wave function. Also we find that the higher derivative corrections have no effect on the first and second even coefficients of the wave function.

Holograghic Brownian motion in $2+1$ dimensional hairy black holes

In this paper, we investigate the dynamics of a heavy quark under the plasmas correspond to three dimensional hairy black holes. We utilize the AdS/CFT correspondence to study the holographic Brownian motion of this particle in different kinds of hairy black holes. For uncharged black hole at low frequency limit we derive analytic expressions for correlation functions and response functions and verify that the fluctuation-dissipation theorem holds in the presence of a scalar field in the metric background. In the case of charged black hole, we think that the results are similar to what derived for uncharged black hole.

Interacting Entropy-Corrected Holographic Dark Energy and IR Cut-Off Length

In this paper we consider holographic dark energy model with corrected holographic energy density and show that this model may be equivalent to the modified Chaplygin gas model. Then we obtain relation between entropy corrected holographic dark energy model and scalar field models. We do these works by using choices of IR cut-off length proportional to the Hubble radius, the event horizon radius, the Ricci length, and the Granda-Oliveros length.

Rotating charged hairy black hole in (2+1) dimensions and particle acceleration

In this paper we construct rotating charged hairy black hole in (2+1) dimensions for infinitesimal black hole charge and rotation parameters. Then we consider this black hole as particle accelerator and calculate the center-of-mass energy of two colliding test particles near the rotating charged hairy black hole in (2+1) dimensions. As we expected, the center-of-mass energy has infinite value.

Thermodynamics of string black hole with hyperscaling violation

In this paper, we start with black brane and construct specific space-time which violates hyperscaling. In order to obtain the string solution we apply Null-Melvin-Twist and $KK$-reduction. By using the difference action method we study thermodynamics of system to obtain Hawking-Page phase transition. In order to have hyperscaling violation we need to consider $θ=\frac{d}{2}.$ In that case the free energy $F$ is always negative and our solution is thermal radiation without a black hole. Therefore we find that there is not any Hawking-Page transition. Also, we discuss the stability of system and all thermodynamical quantities.

Energy loss and jet quenching parameter in a thermal non-relativistic, non-commutative Yang-Mills plasma

In this paper we consider the problem of a moving heavy quark through a hot non-relativistic, non-commutative Yang-Mills plasma. We discuss about the configuration of the static quark and obtain the quasi-normal modes. Also we find the diffusion constant for the moving heavy quark. The main goal of this study is calculating the jet-quenching parameter for the non-relativistic, non-commutative theory and comparing it with drag forces which recently obtained from the another independent work [1]

Thermodynamics of Schrödinger black holes with hyperscaling violation

In this work, we follow Kim and Yamada (JHEP1107 (2011) 120) and utilize AdS in light-cone frame to derive thermodynamic and transport properties of two kinds of Schrödinger black holes with hyperscaling violation. In that case, we show entropy and temperature are depend on $θ$. In $θ=0$ we see our results are agree with the work of Kim and Yamada. We also construct R-charged black hole with hyperscaling violation and obtain thermodynamics and transport properties.

Cosmic String in the BTZ Black Hole Background with Time-Dependant Tension

In this paper, we study the equation of circular loops with time-dependant tension in the BTZ black hole background. We obtain various cases where cosmic string loops finally collapse to form black holes. Also, we study effect of the BTZ black hole mass and angular momentum on the evolution of cosmic string loops. We find the critical values of initial radii as a limit for the cosmic string loops collapsing to form black holes.

Particle acceleration in Horava-Lifshitz black holes

In this paper we calculate the center-of-mass energy of two colliding test particles near the rotating and non-rotating Horava-Lifshitz black hole. For the case of slowly rotating KS solution of Horava-Lifshitz black hole we compare our results with the case of Kerr black holes. We confirm the limited value of the center-of-mass energy for the static black holes and unlimited value of the center-of-mass energy for the rotating black holes. Numerically, we discuss temperature dependence of the center-of-mass energy on the black hole horizon. We obtain the critical angular momentum of particles. In this limit the center-of-mass energy of two colliding particles in the neighborhood of the rotating Horava-Lifshitz black hole could be arbitrarily high. We found appropriate conditions where the critical angular momentum could have an orbit outside the horizon. Finally, we obtain center-of-mass energy corresponding to this circle orbit.

The effect of higher derivative correction on $η/s$ and conductivities in STU model

In this paper we study the ratio of shear viscosity to entropy, electrical and thermal conductivities for the R-charged black hole in STU model. We generalize previous works to the case of a black hole with three different charges. Actually we use diffusion constant to obtain ratio of shear viscosity to entropy. By applying the thermodynamical stability we recover previous results. Also we investigate the effect of higher derivative corrections.

Thermodynamical Stability of Hagedorn and Radiation Regimes in Closed String Gas Cosmology

In this paper, we investigate thermal equilibrium in string gas cosmology which is dominated by closed string. We consider two interesting regimes, Hagedorn and radiation regimes. We find that for short strings in small radius of Hagedorn regime very large amount of energy requested to have thermal equilibrium but for long strings in such system a few energy is sufficient to have thermal equilibrium. On the other hand in the large radius of Hagedorn regime, which pressure is not negligible, we obtain a relation between the energy and pressure in terms of cosmic time which is satisfied by thermal equilibrium. Then we discuss about radiation regime and find that in all cases there is thermal equilibrium.

Calculating the jet-quenching parameter in STU background

In this paper we use the AdS/CFT correspondence to compute the jet-quenching parameter in a N=2 thermal plasma. We consider the general three-charge black hole and discuss some special cases. We add a constant electric field to the background and find the effect of the electric field on the jet-quenching parameter. Also we include higher derivative terms and obtain the first-order correction for the jet-quenching parameter.

Jet-quenching of the rotating heavy meson in a ${\mathcal{N}}$=4 SYM plasma in presence of a constant electric field

In this paper, we consider a rotating heavy quark-antiquark ($q\bar{q}$) pair in a ${\mathcal{N}}$=4 SYM thermal plasma. We assume that $q\bar{q}$ center of mass moves at the speed $v$ and furthermore they rotate around the center of mass. We use the AdS/CFT correspondence and consider the effect of external electromagnetic field on the motion of the rotating meson. Then we calculate the jet-quenching parameter corresponding to the rotating meson in the constant electric field.

Drag force with different charges in STU background and $AdS$/CFT

In this paper we consider the drag force problem in the STU model. Already this problem and related topics were studied in ${\mathcal N}=4$ SYM theory. Here we study the same problem in ${\mathcal N}=2$ supergravity theory with an R-charge black hole (the STU model). This paper extends our previous work [1,2] by studying more general charge configurations and by taking into account the effect of a constant electromagnetic field and higher derivative corrections. We consider a single quark and a $q \bar q$ pair in a three charge non-extremal black hole background. First by using the AdS/CFT correspondence, we obtain the drag force, the diffusion coefficient, the total energy and momentum, quasinormal modes, and the effect of higher derivative corrections for the single quark. Next we calculate the drag force for a $q \bar q$ pair which rotates around its center of mass. For the first time we study the motion of a rotating $q \bar q$ pair in ${\mathcal N}=2$ supergravity theory. We show that our results in the near-extremal limit agree with the energy loss of the moving quark which was calculated in the ${\mathcal N}=4$ SYM plasma.

Time-dependent backgrounds of two dimensional string theory from the $c=1$ matrix model

The aim of this paper is to use correspondence between solutions in the $c=1$ matrix model collective field theory and coupled dilaton-gravity to a massless scalar field. First, we obtain the incoming and outgoing fluctuations for the time-dependent backgrounds with the lightlike and spacelike boundaries. In the case of spacelike boundaries, we have done here for the first time. Then by using the leg-pole transformations we find corresponding tachyon field in two dimensional string theory for lightlikes and spacelikes boundary.
