Regularity of class of differential operators

In this paper we deal with the problem of regularity for non hypo-elliptic partial differential equations with polynomial coefficients. An operator AA on on the space of tempered distributions S\mathcal{S}^\prime is regular if uu belongs to the Schwartz class S\mathcal S whenever AuSAu\in \mathcal S. By using tensor products of topological vector spaces and a kind of Wigner transform we reduce the study of regularity of a non hypo-elliptic differential operator, like the twisted laplacian, to a hypo-elliptic one, like the harmonic oscillator.

Almost periodic pseudodifferential operators and Gevrey classes

We study almost periodic pseudodifferential operators acting on almost periodic functions $G_{\rm ap}^s(\rr d)$ of Gevrey regularity index s1s \geq 1. We prove that almost periodic operators with symbols of Hörmander type Sρ,δmS_{ρ,δ}^m satisfying an ss-Gevrey condition are continuous on $G_{\rm ap}^s(\rr d)$ provided 0<ρ10 < ρ\leq 1, δ=0δ=0 and sρ1s ρ\geq 1. A calculus is developed for symbols and operators using a notion of regularizing operator adapted to almost periodic Gevrey functions and its duality. We apply the results to show a regularity result in this context for a class of hypoelliptic operators.

The wave front set of the Wigner distribution and instantaneous frequency

We prove a formula expressing the gradient of the phase function of a function f:RdCf: \mathbb R^d \mapsto \mathbb C as a normalized first frequency moment of the Wigner distribution for fixed time. The formula holds when ff is the Fourier transform of a distribution of compact support, or when ff belongs to a Sobolev space Hd/2+1+ε(Rd)H^{d/2+1+ε}(\mathbb R^d) where ε>0ε>0. The restriction of the Wigner distribution to fixed time is well defined provided a certain condition on its wave front set is satisfied. Therefore we first study the wave front set of the Wigner distribution of a tempered distribution.
