Bottomonium spectrum in the relativistic flux tube model

The bottomonium spectrum is far from being established. The structures of higher vector states, including the $Υ(10580)$, $Υ(10860)$, and $Υ(11020)$ states, are still in dispute. In addition, whether the $Υ(10750)$ signal which was recently observed by the Belle Collaboration is a normal $b\bar{b}$ state or not should be examined. Faced with such a situation, we carried out a systematic investigation of the bottomonium spectrum in the scheme of the relativistic flux tube (RFT) model. A Chew-Frautschi like formula was derived analytically for the spin average mass of bottomonium states. We further incorporated the spin-dependent interactions and obtained a complete bottomonium spectrum. We found that the most established bottomonium states can be explained in the RFT scheme. The $Υ(10750)$, $Υ(10860)$, and $Υ(11020)$ could be predominantly the $3^3D_1$, $5^3S_1$, and $4^3D_1$ states, respectively. Our predicted masses of $1F$ and $1G$ $b\bar{b}$ states are in agreement with the results given by the method of lattice QCD, which can be tested by experiments in future. We also compared the RFT model with the quark potential model in detail. The differences of these two kinds of models were discussed.

Dynamical mixing between $2^3S_1$ and $1^3D_1$ charmed mesons

In charmed $D$ and $D_s$ mesons sector, the matrix of a Hamiltonian in a quark potential model is computed in the $2^3S_1$ and $1^3D_1$ subspace. The masses of four mixed states of $2^3S_1$ and $1^3D_1$ denoted with $D^*_1(2635)$, $D^*_1(2739)$, $D^*_{s1}(2715)$ and $D^*_{s1}(2805)$ are obtained. It is an off-diagonal part of the spin-orbit tensor interaction that causes the mixing between the $2^3S_1$ and $1^3D_1$ states. The mixing angles between the $2^3S_1$ and $1^3D_1$ states are tiny. Under the mixing, a $^3P_0$ model is employed to compute the hadronic decay widths of all OZI-allowed decay channels of the four mixed states. The two light mixed states $D^*_1(2635)$ and $D^*_{s1}(2715)$ are close in mass to $D^*_J(2600)$ and $D^*_{s1}(2700)$, while the two heavy mixed states $D^*_1(2739)$ and $D^*_{s1}(2805)$ are lighter in mass than $D(2750)$ and $D^*_{s1}(2860)$. The mixing angles obtained from dynamical interaction are inconsistent with the mixing angles obtained from hadronic decay. Based on mass spectra and hadronic decay analyses, $D^*_J(2600)$, $D(2750)$, $D^*_{s1}(2700)$ and $D^*_{s1}(2860)$ are impossibly the mixed states of $2^3S_1$ and $1^3D_1$ at the small mixing angles. The inconsistence implies that $D^*_1(2760)$ and $D^*_{s1}(2860)$ have not been properly resolved from present experimental data, or there exist large unknown off-diagonal interactions that result in large mixing angles.

Hadronic production of $D(2550)$, $D^*(2600)$, $D(2750)$, $D^*_1(2760)$ and $D^*_3(2760)$

Hadronic decays of radially excited $2D$ $D(2^3D_1)$, $D(2^3D_3)$, $D(2D_2)$ and $D(2D^\prime_2)$ have been studied in a $^3P_0$ model. All OZI-allowed decay channels of these $2D$ $D$ resonances have been given, and relevant decay widths have been calculated. $D(2550)$, $D^*(2600)$, $D(2750)$, $D^*_1(2760)$ and $D^*_3(2760)$ can be produced in hadronic decays of $D(2^3D_1)$, $D(2^3D_3)$, $D(2D_2)$ and $D(2D^\prime_2)$. In different assignments, hadronic decay widths and some relevant ratios from the $2D$ $D$ resonances to $D(2550)$, $D^*(2600)$, $D(2750)$, $D^*_1(2760)$ or $D^*_3(2760)$ final states have been predicted, which may provide some more information to identify these resonances in forthcoming experiments.

Nature of charmed strange baryons $Ξ_c(3055)$ and $Ξ_c(3080)$

The hadronic decay widths and some ratios of branching fractions of the newly observed charmed strange baryons, $Ξ_c(3055)^0$, $Ξ_c(3055)^+$ and $Ξ_c(3080)^+$ are calculated in a $^3P_0$ model. In the calculation, they are considered as $34$ kinds of $D-wave$ charmed strange baryons. Among these assignments, $Ξ_c(3055)^+$ is very possibly a $J^P={5\over 2}^+$ $\hatΞ_{c3}^\prime(\frac{5}{2}^+)$ or $\checkΞ_{c3}^2(\frac{5}{2}^+)$, where $Ξ_c(3055)^+$ has the total decay width $Γ=10.1$ MeV and $Γ=7.6$ MeV. The predicted ratios $Γ(Ξ_c(3055)^+ \to ΛD^+ )/ Γ(Ξ_c(3055)^+ \to Σ_c^{++}K^-)=3.39$. $Ξ_c(3055)^+$ is also very possibly a $J^P={7\over 2}^+$ $\hatΞ_{c3}^\prime(\frac{7}{2}^+)$ or $\checkΞ_{c3}^2(\frac{7}{2}^+)$. In these two assignments, $Ξ_c(3055)^+$ has the total decay width $Γ=9.7$ MeV and $Γ=6.3$ MeV. The predicted ratios $Γ(Ξ_c(3055)^+ \to ΛD^+ )/ Γ(Ξ_c(3055)^+ \to Σ_c^{++}K^-)=5.91~\rm{or}~6.04$. As a isospin partner of $Ξ_c(3055)^+$, $Ξ_c(3055)^0$ is also very possibly a $J^P={5\over 2}^+$ $\hatΞ_{c3}^\prime(\frac{5}{2}^+)$ or $\checkΞ_{c3}^2(\frac{5}{2}^+)$, where $Ξ_c(3055)^0$ has the total decay width $Γ=10.9$ MeV and $Γ=7.0$ MeV. The predicted ratios $Γ(Ξ_c(3055)^0 \to ΛD^0 )/ Γ(Ξ_c(3055)^0 \to Σ_c^{+}K^-)=4.24~\rm{or}~4.20$. $Ξ_c(3055)^0$ is also very possibly a $J^P={7\over 2}^+$ $\hatΞ_{c3}^\prime(\frac{7}{2}^+)$ or $\checkΞ_{c3}^2(\frac{7}{2}^+)$. In these assignments, $Ξ_c(3055)^0$ has the total decay width $Γ=10.3$ MeV and $Γ=7.1$ MeV. The predicted ratios $Γ(Ξ_c(3055)^0 \to ΛD^0 )/ Γ(Ξ_c(3055)^0 \to Σ_c^{+}K^-)=7.47~\rm{or}~7.56$. The results agree well with recent experimental data from Belle. $Ξ_c(3080)^+$ seems impossible to be identified with a D-wave charmed strange baryon.

Assignments of $Λ_Q$ and $Ξ_Q$ baryons in the heavy quark-light diquark picture

We apply a new mass formula which is derived analytically in the relativistic flux tube model to the mass spectra of $Λ_Q$ and $Ξ_Q$ (\emph{Q} = \emph{c} or \emph{b} quark) baryons. To this end, the heavy quark-light diquark picture is employed. We find that all masses of the available $Λ_Q$ and $Ξ_Q$ states can be understood well. The assignments to these states do not appear to contradict the strong decay properties. $Λ_c(2760)^+$ and $Ξ_c(2980)$ are assigned to the first radial excitations with $J^P = 1/2^+$. $Λ_c(2940)^+$ and $Ξ_c(3123)$ might be the 2\emph{P} states. The $Λ_c(2880)^+$ and $Ξ_c(3080)$ are the good 1\emph{D} candidates with $J^P = 5/2^+$. $Ξ_c(3055)$ is likely to be a 1\emph{D} state with $J^P = 3/2^+$. $Λ_b(5912)^0$ and $Λ_b(5920)^0$ favor the 1\emph{P} assignments with $J^P = 1/2^-$ and $3/2^-$, respectively. We propose a search for the $\tildeΛ_{c2}(5/2^-)$ state which can help to distinguish the diquark and three-body schemes.

Combined study of $2S$ and $1D$ open-charm mesons with natural spin-parity

In this paper, we perform a combined study of $2S$ and $1D$ open-charm mesons with natural spin-parity. Our results indicate that $D^*_1(2600)/D^*_{s1}(2700)$ and $D^*_1(2760)/D^*_{s1}(2860)$ are predominantly the $2^3S_1$ and $1^3D_1$ charmed/charmed-strange mesons, respectively, while $D_3^*(2760)/D_{s3}^*(2860)$ can be regarded as the $1^3D_3$ charmed/charmed-strange mesons. In addition, some typical ratios of partial widths of the discussed natural states are predicted, by which future experiments can test these assignments, especially for the $2S$-$1D$ mixing scheme existing in $D^*_1(2600)/D^*_1(2760)$ and $D^*_{s1}(2700)/D^*_{s1}(2860)$.

Hadronic decays of the highly excited $2D$ $D_s$ resonances

Hadronic decays of the highly excited $2D$ $D_s$ resonances have been studied in the $^3P_0$ model. Widths of all possible hadronic decay channels of the $2D$ $D_s$ have been computed. $D^*_{s1}(2700)$, $D^*_{s1}(2860)$, $D^*_{s3}(2860)$, $D(2600)$ and $D(2750)$ can be produced from hadronic decays of the $2D$ $D_s$, and relevant hadronic decay widths have been particularly paid attention to. The hadronic decay widths of $2D$ $D_s$ to $D(2600)$ or $D(2750)$ may be large, and the numerical results are different in different assignments of $D(2600)$ and $D(2750)$. The hadronic decay widths of $2D$ $D_s$ to $D^*_{s1}(2860)$, $D^*_{s3}(2860)$ or $D^*_{s1}(2700)$ are very small, and different in different assignments of $D^*_{s1}(2700)$.

Is $Y(4008)$ possibly a $1^{--}$ $ψ(3^3S_1)$ state?

The strong decays of the radially excited $ψ(3^3S_1)$ state are studied within the $^3P_0$ model. As a believed $ψ(3^3S_1)$, some strong decay widths and relevant ratios of $ψ(4040)$ are calculated in the model. The theoretical results are consistent with experiments. In a similar way, as a possible $ψ(3^3S_1)$, the same strong decay widths and relevant ratios of $Y(4008)$ are presented. Our study indicates that $Y(4008)$ is hard to be identified with a $ψ(3^3S_1)$ charmonium once it is confirmed under the $D^*\bar{D}^*$ threshold, but it is very possibly a $ψ(3^3S_1)$ charmonium once it is confirmed above the $D^*\bar{D}^*$ threshold by experiment.

Heavy-light diquark masses from QCD sum rules and constituent diquark models of tetraquarks

Diquarks with $J^{P}=0^{\pm}$, $1^{\pm}$ containing a heavy (charm or bottom) quark and a light quark are investigated using QCD Laplace sum rules. Masses are determined using appropriately constructed gauge invariant correlation functions, including for the first time next-to-leading order perturbative contributions. The $J^P=0^+$ and $1^+$ charm-light diquark masses are respectively found to be 1.86$\pm$0.05 GeV and 1.87$\pm$0.10 GeV, while those of the $0^+$ and $1^+$ bottom-light diquarks are both determined to be 5.08$\pm$0.04 GeV. The sum rules derived for heavy-light diquarks with negative parity are poorly behaved and do not permit unambiguous mass predictions, in agreement with previous results for negative parity light diquarks. The scalar and axial vector heavy-light diquark masses are degenerate within uncertainty, as expected by heavy quark symmetry considerations. Furthermore, these mass predictions are in good agreement with masses extracted in constituent diquark models of the tetraquark candidates X(3872) and $Y_b(10890)$. Thus these results provide QCD support for the interpretation of the X(3872) and $Y_b(10890)$ as $J^{PC}=1^{++}$ tetraquark states composed of diquark clusters. Further implications for tetraquarks among the heavy quarkonium-like XYZ states are discussed.

Scalar glueball in a soft-wall model of AdS/QCD

The scalar glueball is investigated in a soft-wall model of AdS/QCD. Constraints of the mass of the scalar glueball are given through an analysis of a relation between the bulk mass and the anomalous dimension. The mass of the ground scalar glueball is located at $0.96^{+0.04}_{-0.07} \rm{GeV}<m_G<1.36^{+0.05}_{-0.10}\rm{GeV}$. In terms of a background dilaton field $Φ(z)=cz^2$, the two-point correlation function for the scalar gluon operator is obtained. The two-point correlation function at $Δ=4$ gives a different behavior compared with the one in QCD.

X(1870) and $η_2(1870)$: Which can be assigned as a hybrid state?

The mass spectrum and strong decays of the X(1870) and $η_2(1870)$ are analyzed. Our results indicate that X(1870) and $η_2(1870)$ are the two different resonances. The narrower X(1870) seems likely a good hybrid candidate. We support the $η_2(1870)$ as the $η_2(2^1D_2)$ quarkonium. We suggest to search the isospin partner of X(1870) in the channels of $J/ψ\rightarrowρf_0(980)π$ and $J/ψ\rightarrowρb_1(1235)π$ in the future. The latter channel is very important for testing the hybrid scenario.

$D^\star_{s1}(2700)^\pm$ and $D^\star_{sJ}(2860)^\pm$ revisited within the $^3P_0$ model

The strong decays of $D^\star_{s1}(2700)^\pm$ and $D^\star_{sJ}(2860)^\pm$ are investigated within the $^3P_0$ model. It is found that the interpretation of these two states depends on the mixing schemes and the ways of choices of the harmonic oscillator parameter $β$. If $D^\star_{s1}(2700)^\pm$ and $D^\star_{sJ}(2860)^\pm$ are two pure states, $D^\star_{s1}(2700)^\pm$ seems impossibly the $2^3S_1$ $D_s$, but may be the $1^3D_1$ $D_s$. $D^\star_{sJ}(2860)^\pm$ may be the $1^3D_3$. If there is mixing between the $2^3S_1$ and $1^3D_1$, $D^\star_{s1}(2700)^\pm$ may be the mixed $1^-$ state with a small mixing angle in the case of a special $β$ for each meson, and $D^\star_{sJ}(2860)^\pm$ is the orthogonal partner of $D^\star_{s1}(2700)^\pm$; $D^\star_{s1}(2700)^\pm$ may also be the mixed $1^-$ state with a large mixing angle based on a universal $β$ for all mesons, and $D^\star_{sJ}(2860)^\pm$ seems impossibly the orthogonal partner of $D^\star_{s1}(2700)^\pm$. Other uncertainties related to the choices of constituent quark masses and phase spaces are also explored.

Heavy quark symmetry in strong decays of P-wave heavy-light mesons

Heavy quark symmetry and its breaking in strong decays of P-wave heavy-light mesons are examined within the EHQ's method. The consistence of theory with experiments indicates that the breaking of heavy quark symmetry in the two-body strong decays of these mesons is not large. The relation between the EHQ's method and the $^3P_0$ model is investigated, and the phenomenological transition strengths $\mathcal {F}^{j_q,j'_q}_{j_h,l}(0)$ of the P-wave heavy-light mesons within the EHQ method are analytically derived within the $^3P_0$ model.

Possible 2S and 1D charmed and charmed-strange mesons

Possible $2S$ and $1D$ excited $D$ and $D_s$ states are studied, the charmed states $D(2550)^0$, $D^\ast(2600)$, $D(2750)^0$ and $D^\ast(2760)$ newly observed by the BaBar Collaboration are analyzed. The masses of these states are explored within the Regge trajectory phenomenology, and the strong decay widths are computed through the method proposed by Eichten {\it et al.}\cite{Eichten}. Both the mass and the decay width indicate that $D(2550)^0$ is a good candidate of $2^1S_0$. $D^\ast(2600)$ and $D_{s1}^\ast(2700)^\pm$ are very possible the admixtures of $2^3S_1$ and $1^3D_1$ with $J^P=1^-$ and a mixing angle $ϕ\approx 19^0$. $D^\ast(2760)$ and $D_{sJ}^\ast(2860)^\pm$ are possible the $1^3D_3$ $D$ and $D_s$, respectively. $D(2750)^0$ and $D^\ast(2760)$ seem two different states, and $D(2750)^0$ is very possible the $1D(2^-, \frac{5}{2})$ though the possibility of $1D(2^-, \frac{3}{2})$ has not been excluded. There may exist an unobserved meson $D_{sJ}(2850)^\pm$ corresponding to $D^\ast_{sJ}(2860)^\pm$.

$J^P$ Assignments of $Λ_c^+$ Baryons

The "good" diquark is employed to study $Λ_c^{+}$ baryons within a mass loaded flux tube model. The study indicates that all $Λ_c^{+}$ baryons candidates in the 2008 review by the Particle Data Group (PDG) are well described in the mass loaded flux tube model. The quantum numbers $J^P$ of these $Λ_c^{+}$ candidates are assigned. If $Λ_c(2765)^{+}$ is an orbitally excited $Λ^+_c$, it is likely the $J^P={3\over 2}^+$ one. If $Λ_c(2765)^+$ is an orbitally excited $Σ_c$, there ought to be another $J^P={3\over 2}^+$ $Λ^+_c$ with mass $\approx 2770$ MeV. In the model, there exists no $J^P={1\over 2}^+$ $Λ_c(\approx 2700)^+$ predicted in existing literature. $Λ_c(2940)^{+}$ is very possible the orbitally excited baryon with $J^P={5\over 2}^-$.

D and D_s in mass loaded flux tube

Heavy-light hadrons are studied in a mass loaded flux tube model. The study indicates that the dynamics of mesons and baryons containing a $c$ quark is well described by the mass loaded flux tube. The hypothesis of good diquark-antiquark degeneracy is found reasonable in heavy-light quark systems. The spectrum of charmed ($D$) and charmed strange ($D_s$) mesons is systematically computed. $D$ and $D_s$ in 1D multiplets are predicted to have lower masses in comparison with other theoretical predictions. The predicted masses of the $1^-(1^3D_1)$ and the $3^-(1^3D_3)$ $D_s$ agree well with those of recently observed $D_{s1}(2700)^{\pm}$ and $D_{sJ}(2860)$, respectively.

Implications to $c\bar s$ assignments of $D_{s1}(2700)^\pm$ and $D_{sJ}(2860)$

Possible assignments of $D_{s1}(2700)^\pm$ and $D_{sJ}(2860)$ in the conventional quark model are analyzed. The study indicates that both the orbitally excited $c\bar s$ and the radially excited $c\bar s$ are possible. Some implications to these assignments are explored. If $D_{s1}(2700)^\pm$ and $D_{sJ}(2860)$ are the orbitally excited D-wave $1^- (j^P={3\over 2}^-)$ and $3^- (j^P={5\over 2}^-)$, respectively, another orbitally excited D-wave $2^-$ $D_s$, $D_{s2}(2800)$, is expected. If $D_{s1}(2700)^\pm$ and $D_{sJ}(2860)$ are the first radially excited $1^- (j^P={1\over 2}^-)$ and $0^+ (j^P={1\over 2}^+)$, respectively, other two radially excited $0^- D^\prime_s(2582)$ and $1^+ D^\prime_{s1}(2973)$ are expected. $D_{s2}(2800)$ and $D^\prime_{s1}(2973)$ are mixing states. The chiral doubling relation may exist in radially excited $D_s$, the splitting between the parity partners(the $(0^-,1^-)$ and the $(0^+,1^+)$) is $\approx 280$ MeV.

Instanton and Higher-Loop Perturbative Contributions to the QCD Sum-Rule Analysis of Pseudoscalar Gluonium

Instanton effects and three-loop perturbative contributions are incorporated into QCD sum-rule analyses of pseudoscalar ($J^{PC}=0^{-+}$) gluonium. Gaussian sum-rules are shown to be superior to Laplace sum-rules in optimized predictions for pseudoscalar gluonium states in the presence of instanton contributions. The Gaussian sum-rule analysis yields a pseudoscalar mass of $(2.65\pm 0.33) GeV$ and width bounded by $Γ<530 MeV$. The Laplace sum-rules provide corroborating evidence in support of the $\approx 2.7 GeV$ mass scale.

Decay of heavy-light hybrids in HQET sum rules

The decay widths of the 0^{++} and 1^{-+} heavy-light hybrids to B(D) and pion are calculated by using the QCD sum rules. The interpolated current of the hybrid is chosen as $g\bar qγ_αG_{αμ}^aT^ah_{\it v}(x)$. In order to simplify the calculation and avoid the ambiguity of three-point correlation function, a two-point correlation function between the pion and vacuum is used instead. The decay width of the $0^{++}\to B(D)$ is about 12(16) MeV while the $1^{-+}\to B(D)$ is around 0.4(1.8) MeV. We keep the leading order of 1/M_Q expansion in our calculation for convenience.

The spectrum and strong couplings of heavy-light hybrids

The spectrum of the $0^{++}$, $0^{--}$, $1^{-+}$ and $1^{+-}$ heavy-light hybrids have been calculated in HQET. The interpolated current of the hybrid is chosen as $g\bar qγ_αG_{αμ}^aT^ah_{\it v}(x)$, $g\bar qγ_αγ_{5}G_{αμ}^aT^ah_{\it v}(x)$ and $g\bar qσ_{μα}G_{αμ}^aT^ah_{\it v}(x)$. Some strong couplings and decay widths of the heavy-light hybrids to $B(D)π$ are calculated by using the QCD sum rules. The mass of $0^{++}$ hybrid with gluon in TM($1^{--}$) or TE($1^{+-}$) mode is found similar, while their decay widths are different. A two-point correlation function between the pion and vacuum is employed and the leading order of $1/M_Q$ expansion is kept in our calculation.

The $0^{++}$ and $0^{-+}$ mass of light-quark hybrid in QCD sum rules

We calculate masses of the light-quark hybrid mesons with the quantum number $0^{++}$ and $0^{-+}$ by using the QCD sum rules. Two kinds of the interpolated currents with the same quantum number are employed. We find that the approximately equal mass is predicted for the $0^{-+}$ hybrid state from the different current and the different mass is obtained for the $0^{++}$ hybrid state from the different current. The prediction depends on the interaction between the gluon and quarks in the low-lying hybrid mesons. The mixing effect on the mass of the light-quark hybrid meson through Low-energy theorem has been examined too, and it is found that this mixing shifts the mass of hybrid meson and glueball a little.
