Selecting the Most Effective Nudge: Evidence from a Large-Scale Experiment on Immunization

Policymakers often choose a policy bundle that is a combination of different interventions in different dosages. We develop a new technique -- treatment variant aggregation (TVA) -- to select a policy from a large factorial design. TVA pools together policy variants that are not meaningfully different and prunes those deemed ineffective. This allows us to restrict attention to aggregated policy variants, consistently estimate their effects on the outcome, and estimate the best policy effect adjusting for the winner's curse. We apply TVA to a large randomized controlled trial that tests interventions to stimulate demand for immunization in Haryana, India. The policies under consideration include reminders, incentives, and local ambassadors for community mobilization. Cross-randomizing these interventions, with different dosages or types of each intervention, yields 75 combinations. The policy with the largest impact (which combines incentives, ambassadors who are information hubs, and reminders) increases the number of immunizations by 44% relative to the status quo. The most cost-effective policy (information hubs, ambassadors, and SMS reminders but no incentives) increases the number of immunizations per dollar by 9.1% relative to status quo.

Injection Locking of Optoelectronic Oscillators with Large Delay

The optoelectronic oscillator is a delay line oscillator that leverages optical fiber technology to realize the large delay required for low phase noise systems. Spurious sidemodes are an artifact of the delay line oscillator, yet treatments of injection locking of optoelectronic oscillators have relied on the application of classical injection locking theory valid only for single mode oscillators. The large delay contributed by the optical fiber delay line is accounted for by classical theory only in part through the quality factor Q that captures the round-trip group delay in a neighborhood of the oscillation frequency. This paper presents a new formulation of time delay oscillators subject to injection that describes all the essential features of their dynamics and phase noise. The common assumptions of a single mode oscillator and weak injection are removed. This is important to correctly predict the locking range, the suppression of sidemodes and the phase noise spectrum. The findings of the analysis are validated by experimental measurements provided by an optoelectronic oscillator under injection by an external source.

Uniqueness of $L$ function with special class of meromorphic function under restricted sharing of sets

The purpose of the paper is to rectify a series of errors occurred in [2], [17], [20] for a particular situation. To get a fruitful solution and to overcome the issue, we introduce a new form of set sharing namely restricted set sharing, which is stronger than the usual one. We manipulate the newly introduced notion in this specific section of literature to resolve all the complications. Not only that we have subtly used the same sharing form to a well known unique range set [3] to settle a long time unsolved problem.

Two and three shared sets uniqueness problem on restricted and unrestricted ordered meromorphic functions

In this paper we have mainly focused on the uniqueness of two meromorphic functions under the realm of two shared sets problem with certain restrictions which in turn improve the results of { P. Sahoo and H. Karmakar, Uniqueness theorems related to weighted sharing of two sets, Acta Univ. Sapientiae, Mathematica, 10(2) (2018), 329-339} and {P. Sahoo and A. Sarkar, On the uniqueness of meromorphic functions sharing two sets, Bol. Soc. Mat. Mex., (2019), 1-7}. In particular, pointing out some gaps in the statements of the results in { P. Soc. Mat. Mex., (2019), 1-7}. we have removed the order restrictions on the main results in { P. Soc. Mat. Mex., (2019), 1-7} at the cost of sharing of an additional singleton. A number of examples have been provided by us to show some conditions in our results are essential.

Uniqueness and two shared set problems of L-Function and certain class of meromorphic function

Starting with a question of Yuan-Li-Yi [Value distribution of L-functions and uniqueness questions of F. Gross, Lithuanian Math. J., 58(2)(2018), 249-262] we have studied the uniqueness of a meromorphic function f and an L-function L sharing two finite sets. At the time of execution of our work, we have pointed out a serious lacuna in the proof of a recent result of a of Sahoo-Halder [ Some results on L-functions related to sharing two finite sets, Comput. Methods Funct. Theo., 19(2019), 601-612] which makes most of the part of the Sahoo-Halder's paper under question. In context of our choice of sets, we have rectified Sahoo-Halder's result in a convenient manner.

Uniqueness of certain differential polynomial of L-functions and meromorphic functions sharing a polynomial

The purpose of this paper is to obtain some sufficient conditions to determine the relation between a meromorphic function and an L-function when certain differential polynomial generated by them sharing a one degree polynomial. The main theorem of the paper extends and improves all the results in {W. J. Hao and J. F. Chen, Uniqueness of L-functions concerning certain differential polynomials, Discrete Dyn. Nat. Soc., 2018, DOI. 10.1155/2018/4673165}, {F. Liu, X. M. Li and H. X. Yi, Value distribution of L-functions concerning shared values and certain differential polynomials, Proc. Japan. Acad. Ser. A, 93 (2017), 41-46} and {P. Sahoo and S. Haldar, Uniqueness results related to L-functions and certain differential polynomials, Tbilisi Math. J., 11(4) (2018), 67-78}.

Weighted sharing and uniqueness of L-Function with certain class of meromorphic function

The purpose of the paper is to study the uniqueness problem of a $L$ function in the Selberg class sharing one or two sets with an arbitrary meromorphic function having finite poles. We manipulate the notion of weighted sharing of sets to improve one result of Yuan-Li-Yi [Value distribution of $L$-functions and uniqueness questions of F. Gross, Lithuanian Math. J., $\mathbf{58(2)}$(2018), 249-262]. More importantly, we have pointed out a number of gaps in all the results of Sahoo-Halder [Results on $L$ functions and certain uniqueness question of Gross, Lithuanian Math. J., $\mathbf{60(1)}$(2020), 80-91] which actually makes the validity of the same paper under question. As an attempt to rectify the results of Sahoo-Halder we have presented the accurate forms and proof of the results in a compact and convenient manner.

Bicomplex Hamiltonian systems in Quantum Mechanics

We investigate bicomplex Hamiltonian systems in the framework of an analogous version of the Schrodinger equation. Since in such a setting three different types of conjugates of bicomplex numbers appear, each is found to define in a natural way, a separate class of time reversal operator. However, the induced parity (P)-time (T)-symmetric models turn out to be mutually incompatible except for two of them which could be chosen uniquely. The latter models are then explored by working within an extended phase space. Applications to the problems of harmonic oscillator, inverted oscillator and isotonic oscillator are considered and many new interesting properties are uncovered for the new types of PT symmetries.

Inverse Laplace Transform for Bi-Complex Variables

In this paper we examine the existence of bicomplexied inverse Laplacetransform as an extension of its complexied inverse version within theregion of convergence of bicomplex Laplace transform. In this course weuse the idempotent representation of bicomplex-valued functions as pro-jections on the auxiliary complex spaces of the components of bicomplexnumbers along two orthogonal, idempotent hyperbolic directions.
