Modular An(V)A_n(V) theory

preprint2016arXivOpen access

Abstract

A series of associative algebras An(V)A_n(V) for a vertex operator algebra VV over an arbitrary algebraically closed field and nonnegative integers nn are constructed such that there is a one to one correspondence between irreducible An(V)A_n(V)-modules which are not An−1(V)A_{n-1}(V) modules and irreducible VV-modules. Moreover, VV is rational if and only if An(V)A_n(V) is semisimple for all n.n. In particular, the homogeneous subspaces of any irreducible VV-module are finite dimensional for rational vertex operator algebra V.V.
