Mardesic factorization theorem for asymptotic dimension

preprint2022arXivOpen access

Abstract

The main goal of this note is to prove a coarse analogue of Factorization Theorems in Dimension Theory: Let f:X→Yf: X \rightarrow Y be a coarsely continuous map. Then ff factors through coarsely continuous maps g:X→Zg : X \rightarrow Z and h:Z→Yh : Z \rightarrow Y with asymptotic dimension of ZZ at most asymptotic dimension of XX and the weight of ZZ at most the weight of YY.
