Cubic diophantine inequalities for split forms

preprint2013arXivOpen access

Abstract

Denote by s0(r)s_0^{(r)} the least integer such that if s≥s0(r)s \ge s_0^{(r)}, and FF is a cubic form with real coefficients in ss variables that splits into rr parts, then FF takes arbitrarily small values at nonzero integral points. We bound s0(r)s_0^{(r)} for r≤6r \le 6.
