A Learning-Based 3D EIT Image Reconstruction Method

Deep learning has been widely employed to solve the Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT) image reconstruction problem. Most existing physical model-based and learning-based approaches focus on 2D EIT image reconstruction. However, when they are directly extended to the 3D domain, the reconstruction performance in terms of image quality and noise robustness is hardly guaranteed mainly due to the significant increase in dimensionality. This paper presents a learning-based approach for 3D EIT image reconstruction, which is named Transposed convolution with Neurons Network (TN-Net). Simulation and experimental results show the superior performance and generalization ability of TN-Net compared with prevailing 3D EIT image reconstruction algorithms.

Quantum Kinetic Theory with Vector and Axial Gauge Fields

In this paper we introduce the axial gauge field to the framework of the quantum kinetic theory with vector gauge field in the massless limit. Treating axial-gauge field on an equal footing with the vector-gauge field, we construct a consistent solution to the kinetic equations up to the first order in gradient expansion or equivalently the semi-classical expansion. The intuitive extension of quantum kinetic theory presented in this work provides a natural generalization, and turns out to give rise to the covariant anomaly and the covariant currents. The corresponding consistent currents can be obtained from the covariant ones by adding the Chern-Simons current. We use the consistent currents to calculate various correlation functions among currents and energy-momentum tensor in equilibrium state.

Image Reconstruction for Multi-frequency Electromagnetic Tomography based on Multiple Measurement Vector Model

Imaging the bio-impedance distribution of a biological sample can provide understandings about the sample's electrical properties which is an important indicator of physiological status. This paper presents a multi-frequency electromagnetic tomography (mfEMT) technique for biomedical imaging. The system consists of 8 channels of gradiometer coils with adjustable sensitivity and excitation frequency. To exploit the frequency correlation among each measurement, we reconstruct multiple frequency data simultaneously based on the Multiple Measurement Vector (MMV) model. The MMV problem is solved by using a sparse Bayesian learning method that is especially effective for sparse distribution. Both simulations and experiments have been conducted to verify the performance of the method. Results show that by taking advantage of multiple measurements, the proposed method is more robust to noisy data for ill-posed problems compared to the commonly used single measurement vector model.

The Progresses of preparation and modification of graphene on substrate

It is significant to prepare large area of high quality graphene for the study of the characteristics of graphene and the research of the nano-devices based on graphene. This paper summarizes the experiment progresses and mechanism of graphene grown on different substrates. Nowadays, we can obtain the large area of high quality graphene by using the methods, such as CVD, epitaxial growth, etc. The interaction between the graphene and the substrates is closely related to the mismatch of the lattice, weakness of the bonds and the transformation of the electrons, which has a great influence on geometry, energy band and the properties of electrons of the graphene. The combination of the experiment and the calculation can make deeper understanding of the mechanism of the effects between graphene and different substrates, which can be served as a guide for further study.

Tight-binding calculation of growth mechanism of graphene on Ni(111) surface

The nucleation of graphene on Ni surface, as well as on the step, is studied using a tight binding method of SCC-DFTB. The result demonstrates that the fcc configuration has the lowest total energy and thus is the most stable one compared to the other two structures when benzene ring is absorbed on the Ni(111) surface. The activity of marginal growth graphene's carbon atoms decreases from the boundary to the center, when they are absorbed on the substrate. Graphene layer can grow continuously on step surface formed by intersection of Ni(111) and Ni(1-11) surface. Meanwhile, a mismatch will occur between the layer and Ni surface and thus leads to flaws when the layer grows larger. Reducing the mismatch between the graphene and the step surface will benefit the growth of graphene of large area and high quality.
