Gröbner-Shirshov bases theory and extensions of Leibniz superalgebras

In this paper, we elaborate Gröbner-Shirshov bases method for Leibniz (super)algebras. We show that there is a unique reduced Gröbner-Shirshov basis for every (graded) ideal of a free Leibniz (super)algebra. As applications, we construct linear bases of free metabelian Leibniz superalgebras and new linear bases of free metabelian Lie algebras. We present a complete characterization of extensions of a Leibniz (super)algebra by another Leibniz (super)algebra, where the former is presented by generators and relations.

Extensions of associative and Lie algebras via Gröbner-Shirshov bases method

Let a,b,e\mathfrak{a},\mathfrak{b},\mathfrak{e} be algebras over a field kk. Then e\mathfrak{e} is an extension of a\mathfrak{a} by b\mathfrak{b} if a\mathfrak{a} is an ideal of e\mathfrak{e} and b\mathfrak{b} is isomorphic to the quotient algebra e/a\mathfrak{e}/\mathfrak{a}. In this paper, by using Gröbner-Shirshov bases theory for associative (resp. Lie) algebras, we give complete characterizations of associative (resp. Lie) algebra extensions of a\mathfrak{a} by b\mathfrak{b}, where b\mathfrak{b} is presented by generators and relations.

Gröbner-Shirshov bases for Lie ΩΩ-algebras and free Rota-Baxter Lie algebras

In this paper, we generalize the Lyndon-Shirshov words to Lyndon-Shirshov ΩΩ-words on a set XX and prove that the set of all non-associative Lyndon-Shirshov ΩΩ-words forms a linear basis of the free Lie ΩΩ-algebra on the set XX. From this, we establish Gröbner-Shirshov bases theory for Lie ΩΩ-algebras. As applications, we give Gröbner-Shirshov bases for free λλ-Rota-Baxter Lie algebras, free modified λλ-Rota-Baxter Lie algebras and free Nijenhuis Lie algebras and then linear bases of such three free algebras are obtained.

Gröbner-Shirshov basis for the finitely presented algebras defined by permutation relations of symmetric type

In this paper, we give a Gröbner-Shirshov basis for the finitely presented semigroup algebra k[Sn(Symn)]\mathbf{k}[S_n(Sym_n)] defined by permutation relations of symmetric type. As an application, by the Composition-Diamond Lemma, we obtain normal forms of elements of momoid Sn(Symn)S_n(Sym_n), which gives an answer to an open problem posted by F. Cedó, E. Jespers and J. Okniński [7] for the symmetric group case.

New approaches to plactic monoid via Gröbner-Shirshov bases

We present the plactic algebra on an arbitrary alphabet set AA by row generators and column generators respectively. We give Gröbner-Shirshov bases for such presentations. In the case of column generators, a finite Gröbner-Shirshov basis is given if AA is finite. From the Composition-Diamond lemma for associative algebras, it follows that the set of Young tableaux is a linear basis of plactic algebra. As the result, it gives a new proof that Young tableaux are normal forms of elements of plactic monoid. This result was proved by D.E. Knuth \cite{Knuth} in 1970, see also Chapter 5 in \cite{M.L}.

Gröbner-Shirshov bases for some Lie algebras

We give Gröbner-Shirshov bases for Drinfeld-Kohno Lie algebra Ln\textbf{L}_{n} in \cite{[Et]} and Kukin Lie algebra APA_P in \cite{Kukin}, where PP is a semigroup. As applications, we show that as Z\mathbb{Z}-module Ln\textbf{L}_{n} is free and a Z\mathbb{Z}-basis of Ln\textbf{L}_{n} is given. We give another proof of Kukin Theorem: if semigroup PP has the undecidable word problem then the Lie algebra APA_P has the same property.

Groebner-Shirshov bases for free inverse semigroups

A new construction of a free inverse semigroup was obtained by Poliakova and Schein in 2005. Based on their result, we find a Groebner-Shirshov basis of a free inverse semigroup relative to the deg-lex order of words. In particular, we give the (unique and shortest) Groebner-Shirshov normal forms in the classes of equivalent words of a free inverse semigroup together with the Groebner-Shirshov algorithm to transform any word to its normal form.

Some remarks for the Akivis algebras and the Pre-Lie algebras

In this paper, by using the Composition-Diamond lemma for non-associative algebras invented by A. I. Shirshov in 1962, we give Gröbner-Shirshov bases for free Pre-Lie algebras and the universal enveloping non-associative algebra of an Akivis algebra, respectively. As applications, we show I.P. Shestakov's result that any Akivis algebra is linear and D. Segal's result that the set of all good words in X∗∗X^{**} forms a linear basis of the free Pre-Lie algebra PLie(X)PLie(X) generated by the set XX. For completeness, we give the details of the proof of Shirshov's Composition-Diamond lemma for non-associative algebras.

Gröbner-Shirshov bases for Lie algebras over a commutative algebra

In this paper we establish a Gröbner-Shirshov bases theory for Lie algebras over commutative rings. As applications we give some new examples of special Lie algebras (those embeddable in associative algebras over the same ring) and non-special Lie algebras (following a suggestion of P.M. Cohn (1963) \cite{Conh}). In particular, Cohn's Lie algebras over the characteristic pp are non-special when p=2, 3, 5p=2,\ 3,\ 5. We present an algorithm that one can check for any pp, whether Cohn's Lie algebras is non-special. Also we prove that any finitely or countably generated Lie algebra is embeddable in a two-generated Lie algebra.

Lyndon-Shirshov basis and anti-commutative algebras

Chen, Fox, Lyndon 1958 \cite{CFL58} and Shirshov 1958 \cite{Sh58} introduced non-associative Lyndon-Shirshov words and proved that they form a linear basis of a free Lie algebra, independently. In this paper we give another approach to definition of Lyndon-Shirshov basis, i.e., we find an anti-commutative Gröbner-Shirshov basis SS of a free Lie algebra such that Irr(S)Irr(S) is the set of all non-associative Lyndon-Shirshov words, where Irr(S)Irr(S) is the set of all monomials of N(X)N(X), a basis of the free anti-commutative algebra on XX, not containing maximal monomials of polynomials from SS. Following from Shirshov's anti-commutative Gröbner-Shirshov bases theory \cite{S62a2}, the set Irr(S)Irr(S) is a linear basis of a free Lie algebra.

Gröbner-Shirshov bases for LL-algebras

In this paper, we firstly establish Composition-Diamond lemma for ΩΩ-algebras. We give a Gröbner-Shirshov basis of the free LL-algebra as a quotient algebra of a free ΩΩ-algebra, and then the normal form of the free LL-algebra is obtained. We secondly establish Composition-Diamond lemma for LL-algebras. As applications, we give Gröbner-Shirshov bases of the free dialgebra and the free product of two LL-algebras, and then we show four embedding theorems of LL-algebras: 1) Every countably generated LL-algebra can be embedded into a two-generated LL-algebra. 2) Every LL-algebra can be embedded into a simple LL-algebra. 3) Every countably generated LL-algebra over a countable field can be embedded into a simple two-generated LL-algebra. 4) Three arbitrary LL-algebras AA, BB, CC over a field kk can be embedded into a simple LL-algebra generated by BB and CC if ∣k∣≤dim⁡(B∗C)|k|\leq \dim(B*C) and ∣A∣≤∣B∗C∣|A|\leq|B*C|, where B∗CB*C is the free product of BB and CC.

Composition-Diamond lemma for λλ-differential associative algebras with multiple operators

In this paper, we establish the Composition-Diamond lemma for λλ-differential associative algebras over a field KK with multiple operators. As applications, we obtain Gröbner-Shirshov bases of free λλ-differential Rota-Baxter algebras. In particular, linear bases of free λλ-differential Rota-Baxter algebras are obtained and consequently, the free λλ-differential Rota-Baxter algebras are constructed by words.

Gröbner-Shirshov bases and embeddings of algebras

In this paper, by using Gröbner-Shirshov bases, we show that in the following classes, each (resp. countably generated) algebra can be embedded into a simple (resp. two-generated) algebra: associative differential algebras, associative ΩΩ-algebras, associative λλ-differential algebras. We show that in the following classes, each countably generated algebra over a countable field kk can be embedded into a simple two-generated algebra: associative algebras, semigroups, Lie algebras, associative differential algebras, associative ΩΩ-algebras, associative λλ-differential algebras. Also we prove that any countably generated module over a free associative algebra k<X>k< X> can be embedded into a cyclic k<X>k< X>-module, where ∣X∣>1|X|>1. We give another proofs of the well known theorems: each countably generated group (resp. associative algebra, semigroup, Lie algebra) can be embedded into a two-generated group (resp. associative algebra, semigroup, Lie algebra).

Groebner-Shirshov Bases for Associative Algebras with Multiple Operators and Free Rota-Baxter Algebras

In this paper, we establish the Composition-Diamond lemma for associative algebras with multiple linear operators. As applications, we obtain Groebner-Shirshov bases of free Rota-Baxter algebra, λλ-differential algebra and λλ-differential Rota-Baxter algebra, respectively. In particular, linear bases of these three free algebras are respectively obtained, which are essentially the same or similar to those obtained by Ebrahimi-Fard and Guo, and Guo and Keigher recently by using other methods.

Anti-commutative Groebner-Shirshov basis of a free Lie algebra

One of the natural ways to prove that the Hall words (Philip Hall, 1933) consist of a basis of a free Lie algebra is a direct construction: to start with a linear space spanned by Hall words, to define the Lie product of Hall words, and then to check that the product yields the Lie identities (Marshall Hall, 1950). Here we suggest another way using the Composition-Diamond lemma for free anti-commutative (non-associative) algebras (A.I. Shirshov, 1962).

Composition-Diamond Lemma for Modules

In this paper we give some relationships among the Groebner-Shirshov bases in free associative algebras, free left modules and "double-free" left modules (free modules over a free algebra). We give the Chibrikov's Composition-Diamond lemma for modules and show that Kang-Lee's Composition-Diamond lemma follows from this lemma. As applications, we also deal with highest weight module over the Lie algebra sl2sl_2, Verma module over a Kac-Moody algebra, Verma module over Lie algebra of coefficients of a free conformal algebra and the universal enveloping module for a Sabinin algebra.

Groebner-Shirshov bases for some one-relator groups

In this paper, we prove that two-generator one-relator groups with depth less than or equal to 3 can be effectively embedded into a tower of HNN-extensions in which each group has the effective standard normal form. We give an example to show how to deal with some general cases for one-relator groups. By using the Magnus method and Composition-Diamond Lemma, we reprove the G. Higman, B. H. Neumann and H. Neumann's embedding theorem.

On Radicals of Module Coalgebras

We introduce the notion of idempotent radical class of module coalgebras over a bialgebra B. We prove that if R is an idempotent radical class of B-module coalgebras, then every B-module coalgebra contains a unique maximal B-submodule coalgebra in R. Moreover, a B-module coalgebra C is a member of R if, and only if, DB is in R for every simple subcoalgebra D of C. The collection of B-cocleft coalgebras, and the collection of H-projective module coalgebras over a Hopf algebra H are idempotent radical classes. As applications, we use these idempotent radical classes to give another proofs for a projectivity theorem and a normal basis theorem of Schneider without assuming bijective antipode.
