On the multiparameter Falconer distance problem

We study an extension of the Falconer distance problem in the multiparameter setting. Given $\ell\geq 1$ and $\mathbb{R}^{d}=\mathbb{R}^{d_1}\times\cdots \times\mathbb{R}^{d_\ell}$, $d_i\geq 2$. For any compact set $E\subset \mathbb{R}^{d}$ with Hausdorff dimension larger than $d-\frac{\min(d_i)}{2}+\frac{1}{4}$ if $\min(d_i) $ is even, $d-\frac{\min(d_i)}{2}+\frac{1}{4}+\frac{1}{4\min(d_i)}$ if $\min(d_i) $ is odd, we prove that the multiparameter distance set of $E$ has positive $\ell$-dimensional Lebesgue measure. A key ingredient in the proof is a new multiparameter radial projection theorem for fractal measures.

A cone restriction estimate using polynomial partitioning

We obtain improved Fourier restriction estimate for the truncated cone using the method of polynomial partitioning in dimension $n\geq 3$, which in particular solves the cone restriction conjecture for $n=5$, and recovers the sharp range for $3\leq n\leq 4$. The main ingredient of the proof is a $k$-broad estimate for the cone extension operator, which is a weak version of the $k$-linear cone restriction estimate for $2\leq k\leq n$.

A modulation invariant Carleson embedding theorem outside local $L^2$

The article arXiv:1309.0945 by Do and Thiele develops a theory of Carleson embeddings in outer $L^p$ spaces for the wave packet transform of functions in $ L^p(\mathbb R)$, in the $2\leq p\leq \infty$ range referred to as local $L^2$. In this article, we formulate a suitable extension of this theory to exponents $1<p<2$, answering a question posed in arXiv:1309.0945. The proof of our main embedding theorem involves a refined multi-frequency Calderón-Zygmund decomposition. We apply our embedding theorem to recover the full known range of $L^p$ estimates for the bilinear Hilbert transforms without reducing to discrete model sums or appealing to generalized restricted weak-type interpolation.

Higher order Journe commutators and characterizations of multi-parameter BMO

We consider iterated commutators of multiplication by a symbol function and tensor products of Hilbert or Riesz transforms. We establish mixed BMO classes of symbols that characterize boundedness of these objects in $L^p$. Little BMO and product BMO, big Hankel operators and iterated commutators are the base cases of our results. We use operator theoretical methods and existing profound results on iterated commutators for the Hilbert transform case, while the general result in several variables is obtained through the construction of a Journé operator that models the behavior of the multiple Hilbert transform. Upper estimates for commutators with paraproduct free Journé operators as well as weak factorisation results are proven.

Upper Bound for Multi-parameter Iterated Commutators

We show that the product BMO space can be characterized by iterated commutators of a large class of Calderón-Zygmund operators. This result follows from a new proof of boundedness of iterated commutators in terms of the BMO norm of their symbol functions, using Hytönen's representation theorem of Calderón-Zygmund operators as averages of dyadic shifts. The proof introduces some new paraproducts which have BMO estimates.

Multi-parameter singular integral operators and representation theorem

We formulate a class of singular integral operators in arbitrarily many parameters using mixed type characterizing conditions. We also prove a multi-parameter representation theorem saying that a general operator in our class can be represented as an average of sums of dyadic shifts, which implies a new multi-parameter $T1$ theorem as a byproduct. Furthermore, an equivalence result between ours and Journé's class of multi-parameter operators is established, whose proof requires the multi-parameter $T1$ theorem. These results generalize to arbitrarily many parameters recent results of Hytönen, Martikainen, and Grau de la Herran.
