Global well-posedness of the nonlinear Hartree equation for infinitely many particles with singular interaction

The nonlinear Hartree equation (NLH) in the Heisenberg picture admits steady states of the form $γ_f=f(-Δ)$ representing quantum states of infinitely many particles. In this article, we consider the time evolution of perturbations from a large class of such steady states via the three-dimensional NLH. We prove that if the interaction potential $w$ has finite measure and initial states have finite relative entropy, then solutions preserve the relative free energy, and they exist globally in time. This result extends the important work of Lewin and Sabin [arXiv:1310.0603] to singular interaction cases.

Strichartz estimates for higher-order Schrödinger equations and their applications

In this paper, we consider the higher-order linear Schrödinger equations, that is, a formal finite Taylor expansion of the linear pseudo-relativistic equation. We establish the global-in-time Strichartz estimates for these higher-order equations which hold uniformly in the speed of light. As nonlinear applications, we show that the higher-order Hartree(-Fock) equation approximates the corresponding pseudo-relativistic equation on an arbitrarily long time interval, with higher accuracy than the non-relativistic equation. We also prove small data scattering for the higher-order nonlinear Schrödinger equations.

Semi-classical limit of quantum free energy minimizers for the gravitational Hartree equation

For the gravitational Vlasov-Poisson equation, Guo and Rein constructed a class of classical isotropic states as minimizers of free energies (or energy-Casimir functionals) under mass constraints. For the quantum counterpart, that is, the gravitational Hartree equation, isotropic states are constructed as free energy minimizers by Aki, Dolbeault and Sparber. In this paper, we are concerned with the correspondence between quantum and classical isotropic states. Precisely, we prove that as the Planck constant $\hbar$ goes to zero, free energy minimizers for the Hartree equation converge to those for the Vlasov-Poisson equation in terms of potential functions as well as via the Husimi transform and the Töplitz quantization.

On dispersive blow-ups for the nonlinear Schrödinger equation

In this article, we provide a simple method for constructing dispersive blow-up solutions to the nonlinear Schrödinger equation. Our construction mainly follows the approach in Bona, Ponce, Saut and Sparber [2]. However, we make use of the dispersive estimate to enjoy the smoothing effect of the Schrödinger propagator in the integral term appearing in Duhamel's formula. In this way, not only do we simplify the argument, but we also reduce the regularity requirement to construct dispersive blow-ups. In addition, we provide more examples of dispersive blow-ups by constructing solutions that blow up on a straight line and on a sphere.

Optimal convergence rate of nonrelativistic limit for the nonlinear pseudo-relativistic equations

In this paper, we are concerned with the nonrelativistic limit of the following pseudo-relativistic equation with Hartree nonlinearity or power type nonlinearity \[ \left(\sqrt{-\hbar^2c^2 Δ+m^2c^4} - mc^2 \right) u + μu = \mathcal{N}(u), \] where $c$ denotes the speed of light. We prove that the ground states of this equation converges to the ground state of its nonrelativistic counterpart \[ -\frac{\hbar^2}{2m}Δu + μu = \mathcal{N}(u) \] with an explicit convergence rate $1/c^2$ in arbitrary order as $c \to \infty$. Moreover, we show that this rate is optimal.

A new class of Traveling Solitons for cubic Fractional Nonlinear Schrodinger equations

We consider the one-dimensional cubic fractional nonlinear Schrödinger equation $$i\partial_tu-(-Δ)^σu+|u|^{2}u=0,$$ where $σ\in (\frac12,1)$ and the operator $(-Δ)^σ$ is the fractional Laplacian of symbol $|ξ|^{2σ}$. Despite of lack of any Galilean-type invariance, we construct a new class of traveling soliton solutions of the form $$u(t,x)=e^{-it(|k|^{2σ}-ω^{2σ})}Q_{ω,k}(x-2tσ|k|^{2σ-2}k),\quad k\in\mathbb{R},\ ω>0$$ by a rather involved variational argument.

A Spectral Multiplier Theorem associated with a Schrödinger Operator

We establish a spectral multiplier theorem associated with a Schrödinger operator H=-Δ+V(x) in \mathbb{R}^3. We present a new approach employing the Born series expansion for the resolvent. This approach provides an explicit integral representation for the difference between a spectral multiplier and a Fourier multiplier, and it allows us to treat a large class of Schrödinger operators without Gaussian heat kernel estimates. As an application to nonlinear PDEs, we show the local-in-time well-posedness of a 3d quintic nonlinear Schrödinger equation with a potential.

On Fractional Schrodinger Equations in sobolev spaces

Let $σ\in(0,1)$ with $σ\neq\frac{1}{2}$. We investigate the fractional nonlinear Schrödinger equation in $\mathbb R^d$: $$i\partial_tu+(-Δ)^σu+μ|u|^{p-1}u=0,\, u(0)=u_0\in H^s,$$ where $(-Δ)^σ$ is the Fourier multiplier of symbol $|ξ|^{2σ}$, and $μ=\pm 1$. This model has been introduced by Laskin in quantum physics \cite{laskin}. We establish local well-posedness and ill-posedness in Sobolev spaces for power-type nonlinearities.

Scattering for a Nonlinear Schrödinger Equation with a Potential

We consider a 3d cubic focusing nonlinear Schrödinger equation with a potential $$i\partial_t u+Δu-Vu+|u|^2u=0,$$ where $V$ is a real-valued short-range potential having a small negative part. We find criteria for global well-posedness analogous to the homogeneous case $V=0$ (Duyckaerts-Holmer-Roudenko). Moreover, by the concentration-compactness approach, we prove that if $V$ is repulsive, such global solutions scatter.

Unconditional Uniqueness of the cubic Gross-Pitaevskii Hierarchy with Low Regularity

In this paper, we establish the unconditional uniqueness of solutions to the cubic Gross-Pitaevskii hierarchy on $\mathbb{R}^d$ in a low regularity Sobolev type space. More precisely, we reduce the regularity $s$ down to the currently known regularity requirement for unconditional uniqueness of solutions to the cubic nonlinear Schrödinger equation ($s\ge\frac{d}{6}$ if $d=1,2$ and $s>s_c=\frac{d-2}{2}$ if $d\ge 3$). In such a way, we extend the recent work of Chen-Hainzl-Pavlović-Seiringer.

Uniqueness of solutions to the 3D quintic Gross-Pitaevskii Hierarchy

In this paper, we study solutions to the three-dimensional quintic Gross-Pitaevskii hierarchy. We prove unconditional uniqueness among all small solutions in the critical space $\mathfrak{H}^1$ (which corresponds to $H^1$ on the NLS level). With slight modifications to the proof, we also prove unconditional uniqueness of solutions to the Hartree hierarchy without smallness condition. Our proof uses the quantum de Finetti theorem, and is an extension of the work by Chen-Hainzl-Pavlović-Seiringer \cite{CHPS}, and our previous work \cite{UniqueLowReg}.
