PRA-PoE: Robust Alzheimer's Diagnosis with Arbitrary Missing Modalities

Missing modalities are prevalent in real-world Alzheimer's disease (AD) assessment and pose a significant challenge to multimodal learning, particularly when the distribution of observed modality subsets differs between training and deployment. Such missingness pattern mismatch induces a conditional representation shift across modality subsets. Existing approaches that rely on implicit imputation or modality synthesis often fail to explicitly model modality availability and uncertainty, leading to overconfident dependence on synthesized features, reduced robustness, and miscalibrated uncertainty estimates. To address these limitations, we propose PRA-PoE, an incomplete multimodal learning framework that is equipped with Prototype-anchored Representation Alignment (PRA) and an Uncertainty-aware Product of Experts (UA-PoE) fusion mechanism. First, PRA uses learnable global prototypes and availability-conditioned tokens to encode modality availability, distinguish observed from missing modalities, re-synthesize features for missing modalities, and adaptively refine observed representations to align latent spaces across modality subsets, with the goal of reducing representation shift under varying missingness patterns. Second, UA-PoE models each modality as a Gaussian expert and performs closed-form Product of Experts fusion, where experts with higher uncertainty are automatically down-weighted via lower precision, improving uncertainty reliability. We evaluate PRA-PoE under a clinically realistic protocol by training with naturally missing data and testing on all non-empty modality combinations. PRA-PoE consistently outperforms the state-of-the-art across datasets, achieving a 5.4% relative improvement in average accuracy on ADNI and a 10.9% relative gain in average F1 on OASIS-3 over the strongest baseline across all non-empty modality subsets.

PSAA: Provable Secure and Anti-Quantum Authentication Based on Randomized RLWE for Space Information Network

Currently, due to the high scalability and global coverage of space information network (SIN), more service providers and users are willing to provide or subscribe to personal services through the satellite network. However, the messages are transmitted in public satellite-ground links, which makes access users vulnerable to various forms of attacks. Existing authentication protocols do not meet the expected security and short delay requirements to ensure the security of real-time user access and the confidentiality of communication content. Moreover, with the development of quantum computers, the difficult problems such as ECDLP and DLP have also been proven to be solvable in polynomial time, leading to new threats. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a provably secure and anti-quantum authentication protocol based on randomized RLWE. The protocol not only meets the pre-defined security requirements, but also reduces the total delay of the authentication phase based on the pre-negotiation and fewer authentication transmission. In addition, a concise handover scheme is designed for signal handover scenarios caused by satellite dynamic topology. Further rigorous formal and informal security proofs and performance analysis show that our proposed protocol is more applicable to SIN, while ensuring higher security and resisting various attacks with lower authentication delay.

Visual Grounding with Transformers

In this paper, we propose a transformer based approach for visual grounding. Unlike previous proposal-and-rank frameworks that rely heavily on pretrained object detectors or proposal-free frameworks that upgrade an off-the-shelf one-stage detector by fusing textual embeddings, our approach is built on top of a transformer encoder-decoder and is independent of any pretrained detectors or word embedding models. Termed VGTR -- Visual Grounding with TRansformers, our approach is designed to learn semantic-discriminative visual features under the guidance of the textual description without harming their location ability. This information flow enables our VGTR to have a strong capability in capturing context-level semantics of both vision and language modalities, rendering us to aggregate accurate visual clues implied by the description to locate the interested object instance. Experiments show that our method outperforms state-of-the-art proposal-free approaches by a considerable margin on five benchmarks while maintaining fast inference speed.

Weakly Supervised Semantic Segmentation by Pixel-to-Prototype Contrast

Though image-level weakly supervised semantic segmentation (WSSS) has achieved great progress with Class Activation Maps (CAMs) as the cornerstone, the large supervision gap between classification and segmentation still hampers the model to generate more complete and precise pseudo masks for segmentation. In this study, we propose weakly-supervised pixel-to-prototype contrast that can provide pixel-level supervisory signals to narrow the gap. Guided by two intuitive priors, our method is executed across different views and within per single view of an image, aiming to impose cross-view feature semantic consistency regularization and facilitate intra(inter)-class compactness(dispersion) of the feature space. Our method can be seamlessly incorporated into existing WSSS models without any changes to the base networks and does not incur any extra inference burden. Extensive experiments manifest that our method consistently improves two strong baselines by large margins, demonstrating the effectiveness. Specifically, built on top of SEAM, we improve the initial seed mIoU on PASCAL VOC 2012 from 55.4% to 61.5%. Moreover, armed with our method, we increase the segmentation mIoU of EPS from 70.8% to 73.6%, achieving new state-of-the-art.
