Registration based Few-Shot Anomaly Detection

This paper considers few-shot anomaly detection (FSAD), a practical yet under-studied setting for anomaly detection (AD), where only a limited number of normal images are provided for each category at training. So far, existing FSAD studies follow the one-model-per-category learning paradigm used for standard AD, and the inter-category commonality has not been explored. Inspired by how humans detect anomalies, i.e., comparing an image in question to normal images, we here leverage registration, an image alignment task that is inherently generalizable across categories, as the proxy task, to train a category-agnostic anomaly detection model. During testing, the anomalies are identified by comparing the registered features of the test image and its corresponding support (normal) images. As far as we know, this is the first FSAD method that trains a single generalizable model and requires no re-training or parameter fine-tuning for new categories. Experimental results have shown that the proposed method outperforms the state-of-the-art FSAD methods by 3%-8% in AUC on the MVTec and MPDD benchmarks.

Development of a portable and fast wire tension measurement system for MWPC's construction

In a multi-wire proportional chamber detector(MWPC), the anode and signal wires must maintain suitable tensions, which is very important for the detector's stable and perfect performance. As a result, wire tension control and measurement is essential in MWPC's construction. The thermal neutron detector of multi-functional reflectometer at China Spallation Neutron Source is designed using a high pressure $^{3}$He MWPC detector, and in the construction of the detector, we developed a wire tension measurement system. This system is accurate, portable and time-saving. With it, the wires' tension on a anode wire plane has been tested, the measurement results show that the wire tension control techniques used in detector manufacture is reliable.

Bandgaps and directional propagation of elastic waves in two-dimensional square zigzag lattice structures

In this paper we propose some kinds of two-dimensional square zigzag lattice structures and study their bandgaps and directional propagation of elastic waves. The band structures and the transmission spectra of the systems are calculated by using the finite element method. The effects of the geometry parameters of the 2d-zigzag lattices on the bandgaps are investigated and discussed. The mechanism of the bandgap generation is analyzed by studying the vibration modes at the bandgap edges. Multiple wide complete bandgaps are found in a wide porosity range owing to the separation of the degeneracy by introducing bending arms. The bandgaps are sensitive to the geometry parameters of the systems. The deformed displacement fields of the transient response of finite structures subjected to harmonic loads are presented to show the directional wave propagation. The research work in this paper is relevant to the practical design of cellular structures with enhanced vibro-acoustics performance.

Experimental studies of THGEM in different Ar/CO2 mixtures

In this paper, the performances of a type of the domestic THGEM (THick Gaseous Electron Multiplier) working in the Ar/CO2 mixtures are reported in details. This kind of single THGEM can provide the gain range from 100 to 1000, which is very suitable for the application in the neutron detection. In order to study its basic characteristics as the references for the development of THGEM based neutron detector, the counting rate plateau, the energy resolution and the gain of the THGEM have been measured in the different Ar/CO2 mixtures with the change of the electrical fields. For the Ar/CO2(90%/10%) gas mixture, a wide counting rate plateau is got from 720V to 770V with the plateau slope of 2.4% / 100 V and the excellent energy resolution about 22% is obtained at the 5.9keV full energy peak of the 55Fe X-ray source.

Two-dimensional ternary locally resonant phononic crystals with a comblike coating

Two-dimensional ternary locally resonant phononic crystals used to consist of cylindrical scatterers with uniform coatings in their exterior. An alternative coating scheme with a comblike profile is proposed and investigated in this letter. The band structures are calculated by using the finite element method. It is found that a complete bandgap at a significantly low frequency can be induced. The mechanism for such a change is suggested by using an equivalent spring-mass model based on analyzing the eigen modes at the bandgap edges. Consistent results are obtained from the numerical results and the analysis of the spring-mass model.
