A coupled generalized three-form dark energy model

A coupled dark energy model is considered, in which dark energy is represented by a generalized three-form field and dark matter by dust. By assuming the functions $N$ and $I$ in the model's Lagrangian as two power-law functions of the three-form field, we obtain two fixed points of the autonomous system of evolution equations, consisting of a attractor and a tracking saddle point which can be used to alleviate the coincidence problem. After marginalizing the present three-form field $κX_{0}$ which is unable to be strictly restricted, we confront the model with the latest Type Ia Supernova (SN \uppercase\expandafter{\romannumeral1}a), Baryon Acoustic Oscillations (BAO) and Cosmic Microwave Backround (CMB) radiation observations with the fitting results $Ω_{m0}= 0.280_{-0.048}^{+0.048}$ and $λ=0.011_{-0.032}^{+0.032}$ in the $2σ$ confidence level, we also find that the best fitting effective dark energy equation of state (EOS) crosses $ -1$ at redshift around 0.2.

A new coupled three-form dark energy model and implications for the $H_0$ tension

We propose a new coupled three-form dark energy model to relieve the Hubble tension in this paper. Firstly, by performing a dynamical analysis with the coupled three-form dark energy model, we obtain four fixed points, including a saddle point representing a radiation dominated Universe, a saddle point representing a matter dominated Universe, and two attractors representing two saturated de Sitter Universes. Secondly, by confronting the coupled three-form dark energy model and the $Λ$ cold dark matter model (the $Λ$CDM model) with cosmic microwave background (CMB), baryonic acoustic oscillations (BAO), Type Ia supernovae (SN Ia) observations, we obtain $H_0= 67.8_{-0.6}^{+0.7}$($1σ$ level) km/s/Mpc for the coupled three-form dark energy model and $H_0=67.6_{-0.5}^{+0.5}$($1σ$ level) km/s/Mpc for the $Λ$CDM model, the former is in strong tension with the latest local measured $H_0$ value at $4.3σ$ confidence level, while the latter is in strong tension with the latest local measured $H_0$ value at $5.1σ$ level.

A new pressure-parametric cosmological model

We put forward a pressure-parametric model to study the tiny deviation from cosmological constant(CC) behavior of the dark sector accelerating the expansion of the Universe. Data from cosmic microwave background (CMB) anisotropies, baryonic acoustic oscillations (BAO), Type Ia supernovae (SN Ia) observation are applied to constrict the model parameters. The constraint results show that such model suffers with $H_0$ tension as well. To realize this model more physically, we reconstruct it with the quintessence and phantom scalar fields, and find out that although the model predicts a quintessence-induced acceleration of the Universe at past and present, at some moment of the future, dark energy's density have a disposition to increase.

Testing backreaction effects with type Ia supernova data and observational Hubble parameter data

The backreaction term ${\cal Q}_\CD$ and the averaged spatial Ricci scalar $\average{\CR}$ in the spatially averaged inhomogeneous Universe can be used to combine into effective perfect fluid energy density $\varrho_{\rm eff}^{\CD}$ and pressure $p_{\rm eff}^{\CD}$ that can be regarded as new effective sources for the backreaction effects. In order to model the realistic evolution of backreaction, we adopt the Chevallier-Polarski-Linder(CPL) parameterizations of the equation of state(EoS) of the effective perfect fluid. To deal with observations in the backreaction context, in this paper, we employ two metrics to describe the the late time Universe, one of them is the standard Friedmann-Lema\^ıtre-Robertson-Walker(FLRW) metric, and the other is a template metric with an evolving curvature parameter introduced by Larena et. al. in \cite{larena2009testing}. We also fit the CPL backreaction model using type Ia supernova(SN Ia) data and observational Hubble parameter data(OHD) with these two metrics, and find out that parameter tensions between two different data sets are larger when the backreaction model is equipped with the template metric, therefore we conclude that the prescription of the geometrical instantaneous spatially-constant curvature $κ_{\CD}$ needs to be modified.

Thin-shell wormholes constrained by cosmological observations

We investigate the thin-shell wormholes constrained by cosmological observations for the first time in the literature. Without loss of generality, we study the thin-shell wormholes in $ω$CDM model and analyze their stability under perturbations preserving the symmetry. Firstly, we constrain the $ω$CDM model using a combination of Union 2.1 SNe Ia data, the latest $H(z)$ data and CMB data. Secondly, we use the constrained dark energy equation of state (EoS) $ω$ which lies in $[-1.05,-0.89]$ to investigate thin-shell wormholes of various black hole spacetimes. We find that the stable Schwarzschild and Reinssner-Nordström thin-shell wormholes constrained by cosmological observations do not exist. In addition, the method we developed can be applied into exploring the stable thin-shell wormholes from any black hole spacetime in the framework of any cosmological theory.

$P-V$ Criticality In the Extended Phase Space of Charged Accelerating AdS Black Holes

In this paper, we investigate the $P-V$ criticality and phase transition of charged accelerating AdS black holes in the extended thermodynamic phase space in analogy between black hole system and Van der Waals liquid-gas system, where the cosmological constant $Λ$ is treated as a thermodynamical variable interpreted as dynamic pressure and its conjugate quantity is the thermodynamic volume of the black holes. When the electric charge vanishes, we find that no $P-V$ criticality will appear but the Hawking-Page like phase transition will be present, just as what Schwarzschild-AdS black holes behave like. For the charged case, the $P-V$ criticality appears and the accelerating black holes will undergo a small black hole/large phase transition under the condition that the acceleration parameter $A$ and the horizon radius $r_h$ meet a certain simple relation $A r_h=a$, where $a$ is a constant in our discussion. To make $P-V$ criticality appear, there exists an upper bounds for constant $a$. When $P-V$ criticality appears, we calculate the critical pressure $P_{c}$, critical temperature $T_{c}$ and critical specific volume $r_{c}$, and we find that $\frac{P_{c}r_{c}}{T_{c}}$ is an universal number.

Angular Momentum Independence of the Entropy Sum and Entropy Product for AdS Rotating Black Holes In All Dimensions

In this paper, we investigate the angular momentum independence of the entropy sum and product for AdS rotating black holes based on the first law of thermodynamics and a mathematical lemma related to Vandermonde determinant. The advantage of this method is that the explicit forms of the spacetime metric, black hole mass and charge are not needed but the Hawking temperature and entropy formula on the horizons are necessary for static black holes, while our calculations require the expressions of metric and angular velocity formula. We find that the entropy sum is always independent of angular momentum for all dimensions and the angular momentum-independence of entropy product only holds for the dimensions $d>4$ with at least one rotation parameter $a_i=0$, while the mass-free of entropy sum and entropy product for rotating black holes only stand for higher dimensions ($d>4$) and for all dimensions, respectively. On the other hand, we find that the introduction of a negative cosmological constant does not affect the angular momentum-free of entropy sum and product but the criterion for angular momentum-independence of entropy product will be affected.

Geometric dark energy traversable wormholes constrained by astrophysical observations

In this letter, we introduce the astrophysical observations into the wormhole research, which is not meant to general parameters constraints for the dark energy models, in order to understand more about in which stage of the universe evolutions wormholes may exist through the investigation of the evolution behavior of the cosmic equation of state parameter. As a concrete instance, we investigate the Ricci dark energy (RDE) traversable wormholes constrained by astrophysical data-sets. Particularly, we can discover from Fig. \ref{fig5} of the present work, when the effective equation of state parameter $ω_X<-1$, namely, the Null Energy conditions (NEC) is violated clearly, the wormholes will appear (open). Subsequently, six specific solutions of static and spherically symmetric traversable wormhole supported by the RDE are obtained. Except for the case of constant redshift function, in which the solution is not only asymptotically flat but also traversable, the remaining five solutions are all not asymptotically flat, therefore, the exotic matter from the RDE fluids is spatially distributed in the vicinity of the throat. Furthermore, we analyze the physical characteristics and properties of the RDE traversable wormholes. It is worth noting that, through the astrophysical observations, we get constraints on the parameters of RDE model, explore the type of exotic RDE fluids in different stages of the universe changing, limit the number of available models for wormhole research, reduce the number of the wormholes corresponding to different parameters for RDE model and provide a more apparent picture for wormhole investigations from the new perspective of observational cosmology background

Observational constraints and diagnostics for time-dependent dark energy models

In this paper, we constrain four time-dependent dark energy (TDDE) models by using the Type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia), baryonic acoustic oscillations (BAO), observational Hubble parameter (OHD) data-sets as well as the single data point from the newest event GW150914. Subsequently, adopting the best fitting values of the model parameters, we apply the original statefinder, statefinder hierarchy, the growth rate of matter perturbations and $Om(z)$ diagnostics to distinguish the TDDE scenarios and the $Λ$CDM scenario from each other. We discover that all the TDDE models and $Λ$CDM model can be distinguished better at the present epoch by using the statefinder hierarchy than using the original statefinder, the growth rate of matter perturbations and $Om(z)$ diagnostics, especially, in the planes of $\{S_3^{(1)},S_4^{(1)}\}$, $\{S_3^{(2)},S_4^{(2)}\}$, $\{S_5^{(1)},S_5^{(2)}\}$ and $\{S_4^{(2)},S_5^{(2)}\}$.

Observational constraints and differential diagnosis for cosmic evolutionary models

In this paper, we have proposed a plotting method based on the " natural plotting rule " (NPR) which can be used to distinguish different cosmological scenarios more efficiently and obtain more useful information. By using the NPR, we have avoided the blindness to use different diagnostics when discovering that some scenarios can be hardly differentiated from each other, and develop a logical line to adopt different diagnostics. As a concrete instance, we take this method based on the NPR to distinguish several Cardassian scenarios from the base cosmology scenario, and one from the other. We place constraints on three Cardassian cosmological scenarios and their flat versions by utilizing the Type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia), baryonic acoustic oscillations (BAO), cosmic microwave background (CMB) radiation, observational Hubble parameter (OHD) data-sets as well as the single data point from the newest event GW150914, and discover that our results are more stringent than previous results for constraining the cosmological parameters of the Cardassian scenarios. We find that the flat original Cardassian (FOC) and original Cardassian (OC) scenarios can only be distinguished in the plane of $\{Ω_m,S_3^{(1)}\}$ at the present epoch, however, if applying the NPR to plot hierarchically for these Cardassian scenarios in the plane of $\{S_3^{(1)},S_4^{(1)}\}$, we can obtain more detailed information and distinguish the two scenarios better than before. More importantly, from the planes of $\{S_4,S_4^{(2)}\}$, $\{S_5^{(1)},S_5^{(2)}\}$, $\{S_3^{(2)},S_4^{(2)}\}$, $\{Ω_m,S_3^{(1)}\}$,$\{z,ω\}$ $\{ε(z),S_3^{(1)}\}$ and $\{z,Om\}$, we dsicover that the flat modified polytropic Cardassian (FMPC) scenario can be directly removed from the possible candidates of dark energy phenomenon, since its evolutional behavior deviates from the base cosmology scenario too much.

Reconstructing $f(R)$ gravity from viscous cosmology constrained by observations

In this paper, we reconstruct the $f(R)$ theory using the viscous $ω$CDM scenario (V-$ω$CDM) constrained by several differently astrophysical observations, including Type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia), observational Hubble parameter data (OHD), Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe 9-year data (WMAP-9), Planck observations and the single data point from the newest event GW150914 (GW). We find that the joint constraints from SNe Ia+OHD+Planck+GW data-sets give out a tighter restriction for the parameters of the V-$ω$CDM scenario than other constraints. Subsequently, we find that there exists a substantially high degeneracy among these reconstructed $f(R)$ theories in the past, and that they start exhibiting differently evolutional behaviors around the present epoch as well as much different in the distant future. Furthermore, we make a comparison between the reconstructed $f(R)$ theory with the V-$ω$CDM scenario and that with the $ω$CDM scenario constrained by using the SNe Ia+OHD+Planck+GW data-sets in the $f(R)-R$ plane, and find that the two scenarios share an extremely high degeneracy, which implies that the effect of bulk viscosity plays a negligible role in the V-$ω$CDM model during the whole evolutionary processes of the universe. In addition, one can also find that the reconstructed $f(R)$ theories using the two models just deviate from the standard Einstein gravity a little.

Traversable holographic dark energy wormholes constrained by astronomical observations

In this letter, we investigate the traversable wormholes in the holographic dark energy (HDE) model constrained by the modern astronomical observations. First of all, we constrain the HDE model by adopting different data-sets, explore the cosmological background evolution of the HDE model, and find that the HDE model will be fitting better than the Ricci dark energy (RDE) model for the same SNe Ia data-sets by using the the so-called Akaike Information Criterions (AIC) and Bayesian Information Criterions (BIC) . Furthermore, we discover that if taking the SNe Ia data-sets, the wormholes will appear (open) when the redshift $z<0.027$. Subsequently, several specific traversable wormhole solutions are obtained, including the constant redshift function, traceless stress energy tensor, a special choice for the shape function as well as the case of isotropic pressure. Except for the first case, it is very necessary to theoretically construct the traversable wormholes by matching the exterior geometries to the interior geometries. Naturally, one can easily find that the dimensions of the wormholes for the left cases are substantially finite.

Entropy relations and the application of black holes with cosmological constant and Gauss-Bonnet term

Based on the entropy relations, we derive thermodynamic bound for entropy and area of horizons of Schwarzschild-dS black hole, including the event horizon, Cauchy horizon and negative horizon (i.e. the horizon with negative value), which are all geometrical bound and made up of the cosmological radius. Consider the first derivative of entropy relations together, we get the first law of thermodynamics for all horizons. We also obtain the Smarr relation of horizons by using the scaling discussion. For thermodynamics of all horizons, the cosmological constant is treated as a thermodynamical variable. Especially for thermodynamics of negative horizon, it is defined well in the $r<0$ side of spacetime. The validity of this formula seems to work well for three-horizons black holes. We also generalize the discussion to thermodynamics for event horizon and Cauchy horizon of Gauss-Bonnet charged flat black holes, as the Gauss-Bonnet coupling constant is also considered as thermodynamical variable. These give further clue on the crucial role that the entropy relations of multi-horizons play in black hole thermodynamics and understanding the entropy at the microscopic level.

Influence from cosmological uncertainties on galaxy number count at faint limit

Counting galaxy number density with wide range sky surveys has been well adopted in researches focusing on revealing evolution pattern of different types of galaxies. As understood intuitively the astrophysics environment physics is intimated affected by cosmology priors with theoretical estimation or vise versa, or simply stating that the astrophysics effect couples the corresponding cosmology observations or the way backwards. In this article we try to quantify the influence on galaxy number density prediction at faint luminosity limit from the uncertainties in cosmology, and how much the uncertainties blur the detection of galaxy evolution, with the hope that this trying may indeed help for precise and physical cosmology study in near future or vise versa

Modeling phantom energy wormholes from Shan-Chen fluids

In recent years, cosmic observational data have reported that our present universe is undergoing an accelerated expansion, which has been termed as mysterious "dark energy" phenomena, that is, the origin of dark energy has not been determined yet. According to our previous work that a new equation of state \cite{X.Shan and H.Chen1993} can be employed to explain the dark energy, and we are very interested in investigating the astrophysical scale properties of dark energy based on the new cosmological fluids given that the universe is filled with a dark energy fluid everywhere. Hence, in this paper, we study the exact solutions of spherically-symmetrical Einstein field equations describing wormholes supported by phantom energy from Shan-Chen (SC) fluids by considering an obvious relation between the transversal pressure and energy density which is different from our previous work \cite{111}. We have still investigated the important case $ψ\approx1$ which corresponds to the " saturation effect ", and this regime corresponds to an effective form of " asymptotic freedom ", occurring at cosmological rather than subnuclear scales. Then we find out two solutions by making some special choices for the shape function $b(r)$ and discuss the singularities of the solutions and find that the spacetimes are both geodesically incomplete. At the same time, it is worth noting that whether the solutions are geodesically complete or incomplete depends on the appropriate choice of the shape function $b(r)$ through our works. In addition, we match our interior solutions to the exterior Schwarzschild solutions and calculate out the total mass of the wormhole when $r\leq a$.

Super-Chandrasekhar White Dwarfs with Magnetic-dependent Equation of State

Recently, some over-luminous Ia supernovaes are found, suggesting that their progenitors are white dwarfs more massive than the Chandrasekhar limit, which perhaps result from ultra-strong magnetic field inside the white dwarfs. We present an equation of state, explicitly magnetic-dependent and analytically practicable, and observe that the change of equation of states due to magnetic field waning along radium will so significantly influence the configuration of a white dwarf as that its density does not monotonically decrease, but goes down at first, re-peaks near the crust and falls off again. As a supernovae will, in the single degenerate Ia supernovae system, leave the remnant of its companion and a neutron star (pulsar star), we point out that the observations of these objects can put our model into tests

Thermodynamic relations for entropy and temperature of multi-horizons black holes

We present some entropy and temperature relations of multi-horizons, even including the "virtual" horizon. These relations are related to product, division and sum of entropy and temperature of multi-horizons. We obtain the additional thermodynamic relations of both static and rotating black holes in three and four dimensional (A)dS spacetime. Especially, a new dimensionless, charges-independence and $T_+S_+=T_-S_-$ like relation is presented. This relation does not depend on the mass, electric charge, angular momentum and cosmological constant, as it is always a constant. These relations lead us to get some interesting thermodynamic bound of entropy and temperature, including the Penrose inequality which is the first geometrical inequality of black holes. Besides, based on these new relations, one can obtain the first law of thermodynamics and Smarr relation for all horizons of black hole.

Wormholes supported by phantom energy from Shan-Chen cosmological fluids

The firm observational confirmation of the late-time acceleration of the universe expansion has proposed a major challenge to the theoretical foundations of cosmology and the explanation of the acceleration mechanism requires the introduction of either a simply cosmological constant, or of a mysterious dark energy component (time dependent or modified gravities), filling the universe and dominating its current expansionary evolution. Universally given that the universe is permeated by a dark energy fluid, therefore, we should also investigate the astrophysical scale properties from the dark energy effects. In the present paper, the exact solutions of spherically-symmetrical Einstein field equations describing wormholes supported by phantom energy that violates the null energy condition from Shan-Chen fluid description are obtained. We have considered the important case that the model parameter $ψ\approx1$ which corresponds to the `` saturation effect ", and this regime corresponds to an effective form of `` asymptotic freedom " for the fluids, but occurring at cosmological rather than subnuclear scales. Then we investigate the allowed range values of the model parameters $g$ and $ω$ when the space-time metrics describe wormholes and discuss the possible singularities of the solutions, finding that the obtained spacetimes are geodesically complete. Moreover, we construct two traversable wormholes through matching our obtained interior solutions to the exterior Schwarzschild solutions and calculate out the total mass of the wormhole when the wormhole throat size $r\leq a$ or $r\leq b$, respectively. Finally, we acquire that the surface stress-energy $σ$ is zero and the surface tangential pressure $\wp$ is positive when discussing the surface stresses of the solutions and analyze the traversable wormholes.

Large Scale Structure Formation in Eddington-inspired Born-Infeld Gravity

We study the large scale structure formation in Eddington-inspired Born-Infeld (EiBI) gravity. It is found that the linear growth of scalar perturbations in EiBI gravity deviates from that in general relativity for modes with large wave numbers ($k$), but the deviation is largely suppressed with the expansion of the Universe. We investigate the integrated Sachs-Wolfe effect in EiBI gravity, and find that its effect on the angular power spectrum of the anisotropy of the cosmic microwave background (CMB) is almost the same as that in the Lambda-cold dark matter ($Λ$CDM) model. We further calculate the linear matter power spectrum in EiBI gravity and compare it with that in the $Λ$CDM model. Deviation is found on small scales ($k\gtrsim 0.1 h$ Mpc$^{-1}$), which can be tested in the future by observations from galaxy surveys.

SNe Data Analysis in Variable Speed of Light Cosmologies without Cosmological Constant

In this work, we aim to show the possibilities of the variable speed of light (VSL) theory in explaining the type Ia supernovae observations without introducing dark energy. The speed of light is assumed to be scale factor dependent, which is the most popular assumption in VSL theory. We show the modified calculation of the distance modulus, and the validity of the redshift-scale factor relation in VSL theory. Three different models of VSL are tested SNe data-sets with proper constraints on the model parameters. The comparison of the three models and flat $Λ$CDM in distance modulus is showed. Some basic problems and the difficulties of the confirmation of the VSL theory are also discussed

The "universal property" of Horizon Entropy Sum of Black Holes in Four Dimensional Asymptotical (anti-)de-Sitter Spacetime Background

We present a new ``universal property'' of entropy, that is the ``entropy sum'' relation of black holes in four dimensional (anti-)de-Sitter asymptotical background. They depend only on the cosmological constant with the necessary effect of the un-physical ``virtual'' horizon included in the spacetime where only the cosmological constant, mass of black hole, rotation parameter and Maxwell field exist. When there is more extra matter field in the spacetime, one will find the ``entropy sum'' is also dependent of the strength of these extra matter field. For both cases, we conclude that the ``entropy sum'' does not depend on the conserved charges $M$, $Q$ and $J$, while it does depend on the property of background spacetime. We will mainly test the ``entropy sum'' relation in static, stationary black hole and some black hole with extra matter source (scalar hair and higher curvature) in the asymptotical (anti-)de-sitter spacetime background. Besides, we point out a newly found counter example of the mass independence of the ''entropy product'' relation in the spacetime with extra scalar hair case, while the ``entropy sum'' relation still holds. These result are indeed suggestive to some underlying microscopic mechanism. Moreover, the cosmological constant and extra matter field dependence of the ``entropy sum'' of all horizon seems to reveal that ``entropy sum'' is more general as it is only related to the background field. For the case of asymptotical flat spacetime without any matter source, we give a note for the Kerr black hole case in appendix. One will find only mass dependence of ``entropy sum'' appears. It makes us believe that, considering the dependence of ``entropy sum'', the mass background field may be regarded as the next order of cosmological constant background field and extra matter field.

The Entropy Relations of Black Holes with Multihorizons in Higher Dimensions

We study the entropy relations of multi-horizons black holes in higher dimensional (A)dS spacetime with maximal symmetries, including Einstein-Maxwell gravity and $f(R)$(-Maxwell) gravity. These additional equalities in thermodynamics are expected to be useful to understanding the origin of black hole entropy at the microscopic level. Revisiting the entropy product introduced by Cvetic etc, in our case, it has an unexpected behavior. It is shown that this electric charge $Q$ plays an important role in this entropy product. The entropy product of charged black holes only depends on the electric charge $Q$ and is mass independence. When $Q$ vanishes in the solution, it turns to mass dependence, even when including the effect of the un-physical ``virtual'' horizons. In this sense, the ``universal relation'' of this entropy product is destroyed. Then we introduce another kind of ``universal'' entropy relation, which only depends on the cosmological constant $Λ$ and the background topology $k$, and which does not depend on the conserved charges $Q$, nor even the mass $M$.

The Entropy Sum of (A)dS Black Holes in Four and Higher Dimensions

We present the "entropy sum" relation of (A)dS charged black holes in higher dimensional Einstein-Maxwell gravity, $f(R)$ gravity, Gauss-Bonnet gravity and gauged supergravity. For their "entropy sum" with the necessary effect of the un-physical "virtual" horizon included, we conclude the general results that the cosmological constant dependence and Gauss-Bonnet coupling constant dependence do hold in both the four and six dimensions, while the "entropy sum" is always vanishing in odd dimensions. Furthermore, the "entropy sum" of all horizons is related to the geometry of the horizons in four and six dimensions. In these explicitly four cases, one also finds that the conserved charges $M$ (the mass), $Q$ (the charge from Maxwell field or supergravity) and the parameter $a$ (the angular momentum) play no role in the "entropy sum" relations.

Birkhoff's Theorem in f(T) Gravity up to the Perturbative Order

f(T) gravity, a generally modified teleparallel gravity, has become very popular in recent times as it is able to reproduce the unification of inflation and late-time acceleration without the need of a dark energy component or an inflation field. In this present work, we investigate specifically the range of validity of Birkhoff's theorem with the general tetrad field via perturbative approach. At zero order, Birkhoff's theorem is valid and the solution is the well known Schwarzschild-(A)dS metric. Then considering the special case of the diagonal tetrad field, we present a new spherically symmetric solution in the frame of f(T) gravity up to the perturbative order. The results with the diagonal tetrad field satisfy the physical equivalence between the Jordan and the so-called Einstein frames, which are realized via conformal transformation, at least up to the first perturbative order.

Extended Birkhoff's Theorem in the f(T) Gravity

The f(T) theory, a generally modified teleparallel gravity, has been proposed as an alternative gravity model to account for the dark energy phenomena. Following our previous work [Xin-he Meng and Ying-bin Wang, EPJC(2011), arXiv:1107.0629v1], we prove that the Birkhoff's theorem holds in a more general context, specifically with the off diagonal tetrad case, in this communication letter. Then, we discuss respectively the results of the external vacuum and internal gravitational field in the f(T) gravity framework, as well as the extended meaning of this theorem. We also investigate the validity of the Birkhoff's theorem in the frame of f(T) gravity via conformal transformation by regarding the Brans-Dicke-like scalar as effective matter, and study the equivalence between both Einstein frame and Jordan frame.

Rip/singularity free cosmology models with bulk viscosity

In this paper we present two concrete models of non-perfect fluid with bulk viscosity to interpret the observed cosmic accelerating expansion phenomena, avoiding the introduction of exotic dark energy. The first model we inspect has a viscosity of the form $ζ = ζ_0 + (ζ_1-ζ_2q)H$ by taking into account of the decelerating parameter q, and the other model is of the form $ζ = ζ_0 + ζ_1H + ζ_2H^2$. We give out the exact solutions of such models and further constrain them with the latest Union2 data as well as the currently observed Hubble-parameter dataset (OHD), then we discuss the fate of universe evolution in these models, which confronts neither future singularity nor little/pseudo rip. From the resulting curves by best fittings we find a much more flexible evolution processing due to the presence of viscosity while being consistent with the observational data in the region of data fitting. With the bulk viscosity considered, a more realistic universe scenario is characterized comparable with the ΛCDM model but without introducing the mysterious dark energy.

A Specific Case of Generalized Einstein-aether Theories

With the dark energy phenomena explored over a decade, in this present work we discuss a specific case of the generalized Einstein-aether theories, in which the modified Friedmann Equation is similar to that in the Dvali-Gabadadze-Porrati (DGP) brane world model. We compute the joint statistic constraints on model parameters in this specific case by using the recent type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia) data, the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) shift parameter data, and the Baryonic Acoustic Oscillations (BAOs) data traced by the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS). Furthermore, we analyze other constrains from the observational Hubble parameter data (OHD). The comparison with the standard cosmological model (cosmological constant $Λ$ Cold Dark Matter ($Λ$CDM) model) is clearly shown; also we comment on the interesting relation between the coupling constant $M$ in this model and the special accelerate scale in the MOdified Newtonian Dynamics (MOND) model initially given by Milgrom with the hope for interpreting the galaxy rotation curves without introducing mysterious dark matter.

Birkhoff's theorem in the f(T) gravity

Generalized from the so-called teleparallel gravity which is exactly equivalent to general relativity, the $f(T)$ gravity has been proposed as an alternative gravity model to account for the dark energy phenomena. In this letter we prove that the external vacuum gravitational field for a spherically symmetric distribution of source matter in the $f(T)$ gravity framework must be static and the conclusion is independent of the radial distribution and spherically symmetric motion of the source matter that is, whether it is in motion or static. As a consequence, the Birkhoff's theorem is valid in the general $f(T)$ theory. We also discuss its application in the de Sitter space-time evolution phase as preferred to by the nowadays dark energy observations.

Bulk viscous cosmology: unified dark matter

The bulk viscosity is introduced to model unified dark matter. The viscous unified model assumes the universe is filled with a single fluid with the bulk viscosity. We review the general framework of the viscous cosmology. The Hubble parameter has a direct connection with the bulk viscosity coefficient. For concrete form of the bulk viscosity, the Hubble parameter which has the scaling relation with the redshift can be obtained. We discuss two viscosity models and the cosmological evolution to which they lead. Using SNe Ia data, the viscosity model can be fitted. We briefly review the fitting method here.

Observe the open universe in the sky?

We first review the related works on the observable consequence of landscape and the regulation of e-foldings during inflation. We focus on a branch of observable consequence of landscape which predicts an open universe with negative curvature if e-foldings $N>62$. After discussing the observable regulation from the aspect by Kaloper, Kleban and Sorbo, we make an argument that in the non-flat background the observable $N$ is suppressed by a factor $k/ρ_{0}$. We point out that this seems to detect the information where e-foldings $N>62$ possibly. Finally, we discuss our outcomes with the recent work by Arkani-Hamed et al.

Scalar perturbation of the viscosity dark fluid cosmological model

A general equation of state is used to model unified dark matter and dark energy (dark fluid), and it has been proved that this model is equivalent to a single fluid with time-dependent bulk viscosity. In this paper, we investigate scalar perturbation of this viscosity dark fluid model. For particular parameter selection, we find that perturbation quantity can be obtained exactly in the future universe. We numerically solve the perturbation evolution equations, and compare the results with those of $Λ$CDM model. Gravitational potential and the density perturbation of the model studied here have the similar behavior with the standard model, though there exists significant value differences in the late universe.
