Construction of $a_4$ family

The COMPASS Collaboration recently reported the observation of a new resonance, $a_4(2610)$, which has sparked our interest in studying the $a_4$ family with {$I^GJ^{PC}=1^{-}4^{++}$}. In this work, we investigate the mass spectra and Okubo-Zweig-Iizuka-allowed two-body strong decays of the $a_4$ family using the modified Godfrey-Isgur quark model and the quark-pair creation model. We also explore the possibility of identifying $a_4(2610)$ as a $4F$ or $2H$ state, {and our numerical results suggest that it could be a promising candidate for the $a_4(2H)$ state. In addition, we predict the masses and the widths of the $a_4(1H)$ and $a_4(3F)$ states.}

Possible molecular states of $\bar D^{*}K^{*}$ ($ D^{*}K^{*}$) and the new exotic states $X_0(2900)$ and $X_1(2900)$ ($T^a_{cs0}(2900)^0$ and $T^a_{cs0}(2900)^{++}$)

Two iso-singlet hadron states $X_0(2900)$ and $X_1(2900)$ with $J=0$ and 1 respectively, discovered by the LHCb collaboration in 2020, were identified as molecular bound states of $\bar D^*K^*$. Recently two structures $T^a_{cs0}(2900)^0$ and $T^a_{cs0}(2900)^{++}$ have been observed at the hadron spectra, one would suspect if they also are molecular states of $D^*$ and $K^*$. As long as they were of the molecular structures of $D^*K^*$, the hadron states must be in an iso-vector, namely $T^a_{cs0}(2900)^0$ and $T^a_{cs0}(2900)^{++}$ were $I_3=-1, 1$ components of the iso-vector. If it is the case, the corresponding $T^a_{cs0}(2900)^+$ of ($I=1,I_3=0$) and $T^{'a}_{cs0}(2900)^{+}$ of $I=0,I_3=0$ so far evade experimental observation, but should be found by the future experiments. To testify this ansatz, in this paper we study the possible molecular structures of $\bar D^{*}K^{*}$ and $D^{*}K^{*}$ within the Bethe-Salpeter (B-S) framework. With reasonable input parameters it is found that $\bar D^{*}K^{*}$ iso-scalar systems with $J^P=0^+$ and $1^+$ are solutions. The result supports the ansatz of $X_0(2900)$ ($X_1(2900)$) being molecular states of $\bar D^*K^{*}$. Whereas for the system of $ D^{*}K^{*}$ with $I=1$ the corresponding B-S equation has no solution. Thus we can draw a clear conclusion that $T^a_{cs0}(2900)^0$ and $T^a_{cs0}(2900)^{++}$ should not be bound states of $ D^{*}$ and $K^{*}$. The two structures observed by the LHCb collaboration may be caused by dynamics, such as the well-recognized triangle anomalies or other mechanisms.

X(3872) Production in Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collisions

Heavy-ion collisions provide a unique opportunity to study the nature of X(3872) compared with electron-positron and proton-proton (antiproton) collisions. We investigate the centrality and momentum dependence of X(3872) in heavy-ion collisions via the Langevin equation and instant coalescence model (LICM). When X(3872) is treated as a compact tetraquark state, the tetraquarks are produced via the coalescence of heavy and light quarks near the quantum chromodynamic (QCD) phase transition due to the restoration of the heavy quark potential at $T\rightarrow T_c$. In the molecular scenario, loosely bound X(3872) is produced via the coalescence of $D^0$-$\bar D^{*0}$ mesons in a hadronic medium after kinetic freeze-out. We employ the LICM to explain both $D^0$ and $J/ψ$ production as a benchmark. Then we give predictions regarding X(3872) production and the nuclear modification factor $R_{AA}^{X(3872)}$. We find that the total yield of tetraquark is several times larger than the molecular production in Pb-Pb collisions. Although the geometric size of the molecule is huge, the coalescence probability is small due to strict constraints on the relative momentum between $D^0$ and $\bar D^{*0}$ in the molecular Wigner function, which significantly suppresses the molecular yield.

Establishing the first hidden-charm pentaquark with strangeness

We study the $P_{cs}(4459)^0$ recently observed by LHCb using the method of QCD sum rules. Our results support its interpretation as the $\bar D^* Ξ_c$ hadronic molecular state of either $J^P=1/2^-$ or $3/2^-$. Within the hadronic molecular picture, the three LHCb experiments observing $P_c$ and $P_{cs}$ states \cite{lhcb,Aaij:2015tga,Aaij:2019vzc} can be well understood as a whole. This strongly supports the existence of hadronic molecules, whose studies can significantly improve our understanding on the construction of the subatomic world. To verify this picture, we propose to further investigate the $P_{cs}(4459)^0$ to examine whether it can be separated into two states, and to search for the $\bar D Ξ_c$ molecular state of $J^P=1/2^-$.

Probing hidden-charm decay properties of $P_c$ states in a molecular scenario

The $P_c(4312)$, $P_c(4440)$, and $P_c(4457)$ observed by the LHCb Collaboration are very likely to be $S$-wave $Σ_c\bar{D}^{(*)}$ molecular candidates due to their near-threshold character. In this work, we study the hidden-charm decay modes of these $P_c$ states, $P_c\to J/ψp(η_cp)$, using a quark interchange model. The decay mechanism for the $P_c\to J/ψp(η_cp)$ processes arises from the quark-quark interactions, where all parameters are determined by the mass spectra of mesons. We present our results in two scenarios. In scenario I, we perform the dynamical calculations and treat the $P_c$ states as pure $Σ_c \bar D^{(*)}$ molecules. In scenario II, after considering the coupled channel effect between different flavor configurations $Σ^{(*)}_c\bar D^{(*)}$, we calculate these partial decay widths again. The decay patterns in these two scenarios can help us to explore the molecular assignment and the inner flavor configurations for the $P_c$ states. In particular, the decay widths of $Γ(P_c(4312)\toη_cp)$ are comparable to the $J/ψp$ decay widths in both of these two scenarios. Future experiments like LHCb may confirm the existence of the $P_c(4312)$ in the $η_cp$ channel.

Study on possible molecular states composed of $Λ_c\bar D$ ($Λ_b B$) and $Σ_c\bar D$ ($Σ_b B$) within the Bethe-Salpeter framework

$P_c(4312)$ observed by the LHCb collaboration is confirmed as a pentaquark and its structure, production, and decay behaviors attract great attention from theorists and experimentalists. Since its mass is very close to sum of $Σ_c$ and $\bar D$ masses, it is naturally tempted to be considered as a molecular state composed of $Σ_c$ and $\bar D$. Moreover, $P_c(4312)$ is observed in the channel with $J/ψp$ final state, requiring that isospin conservation $P_c(4312)$ is an isospin-1/2 eigenstate. In literature, several groups used various models to estimate its spectrum. We systematically study the pentaquarks within the framework of the Bethe-Salpeter equation; thus $P_c(4312)$ is an excellent target because of the available data. We calculate the spectrum of $P_c(4312)$ in terms of the Bethe-Salpter equations and further study its decay modes. Some predictions on other possible pentaquark states that can be tested in future experiments are made.

Study on the possible molecular state composed of $D^*_s\bar D_{s1} $ within the Bethe-Salpeter framework

Recently a vector charmonium-like state $Y(4626)$ was observed in the portal of $D^+_sD_{s1}(2536)^-$. It intrigues an active discussion on the structure of the resonance because it has obvious significance for gaining a better understanding on its hadronic structure with suitable inner constituents. It indeed concerns the general theoretical framework about possible structures of exotic states. Since the mass of $Y(4626)$ is slightly above the production threshold of $D^+_s\bar D_{s1}(2536)^-$ whereas below that of $D^*_s\bar D_{s1}(2536)$ with the same quark contents as that of $D^+_s\bar D_{s1}(2536)^-$, it is natural to conjecture $Y(4626)$ to be a molecular state of $D^{*}_s\bar D_{s1}(2536)$, as suggested in literature. Confirming or negating this allegation would shed light on the goal we concern. We calculate the mass spectrum of a system composed of a vector meson and an axial vector i.e. $D^*_s\bar D_{s1}(2536)$ within the framework of the Bethe-Salpeter equations. Our numerical results show that the dimensionless parameter $λ$ in the form factor which is phenomenologically introduced to every vertex, is far beyond the reasonable range for inducing an even very small binding energy $ΔE$. It implies that the $D^*_s\bar D_{s1}(2536)$ system cannot exist in the nature as a hadronic molecule in this model, so that we may not think the resonance $Y(4626)$ to be a bound state of $D^*_s\bar D_{s1}(2536)$, but something else, for example a tetraquark and etc.

Threshold cusps and triangle singularities in hadronic reactions

The spectrum of hadrons is the manifestation of color confinement of quantum chromodynamics. Hadronic resonances correspond to poles of the S-matrix. Since 2003, lots of new hadron resonant structures were discovered in the mass regions from light mesons to hadrons containing a pair of a heavy quark and an antiquark. Many of them are candidates of exotic hadrons, and they are usually observed as peaks in invariant mass distributions. However, the S-matrix also has kinematical singularities due to the on-shellness of intermediate particles for a process, such as two-body thresholds and triangle singularities, and they can produce peaks as well. On the one hand, such singularities may be misidentified as resonances; on the other hand, they can be used as tools for precision measurements. In this paper, we review the threshold cusps and various triangle singularities in hadronic reactions, paying attention to their manifestations in phenomena related to exotic hadron candidates.

Triangle singularity as the origin of $X_0(2900)$ and $X_1(2900)$ observed in $B^+\to D^+ D^- K^+$

The LHCb collaboration reported the observation of a narrow peak in the $D^- K^+$ invariant mass distributions from the $B^+\to D^+ D^- K^+$ decay. The peak is parameterized in terms of two resonances $X_0(2900)$ and $X_1(2900)$ with the quark contents $\bar{c}\bar{s}ud$, and their spin-parity quantum numbers are $0^+$ and $1^-$, respectively. We investigate the rescattering processes which may contribute to the $B^+\to D^+ D^- K^+$ decays. It is shown that the $D^{*-}K^{*+}$ rescattering via the $χ_{c1}K^{*+}D^{*-}$ loop or the $\bar{D}_{1}^{0}K^{0}$ rescattering via the $D_{sJ}^{+}\bar{D}_{1}^{0}K^{0}$ loop simulate the $X_0(2900)$ and $X_1(2900)$ structures. Such phenomena are due to the analytical property of the scattering amplitudes with the triangle singularities located to the vicinity of the physical boundary.

Study on $Ξ_{cc}\toΞ_c$ and $Ξ_{cc}\toΞ'_c$ weak decays in the light-front quark model

In this work we study the weak decays of $Ξ_{cc}\toΞ_c$ and $Ξ_{cc}\toΞ'_c$ in the light-front quark model. Generally, a naive, but reasonable conjecture suggests that the $cc$ subsystem in $Ξ_{cc}$ ( $us$ pair in $Ξ^{(')}_c$) stands as a diquark with definite spin and color assignments. During the concerned processes, the diquark of the initial state is not a spectator, and must be broken. A Racah transformation would decompose the original $(cc)q$ into a combination of $c(cq)$ components. Thus we may deal with the decaying $c$ quark alone while keeping the $(cq)$ subsystem as a spectator. With the re-arrangement of the inner structure we calculate the form factors numerically and then obtain the rates of semi-leptonic decays and non-leptonic decays, which will be measured in the future.

Could the observation of $X(5568)$ be resulted by the near threshold rescattering effects?

We investigate the invariant mass distributions of $B_sπ$ via different rescattering processes. Because the triangle singularity (TS) could be present for a very broad incident energy region, it can be expected that the TS peaks may simulate the resonance-like bump $X(5568)$ observed by the D0 collaboration. The highly process-dependent characteristic of TS mechanism offers a criterion to distinguish it from other dynamic mechanisms.

Understanding the nature of the heavy pentaquarks and searching for them in pion-induced reactions

We investigate the reaction $π^- p \to π^- J/ψp$ via the open-charm hadron rescattering diagrams. Due to the presence of the triangle singularity (TS) in the rescattering amplitudes, the TS peaks can simulate the pentaquark-like resonances arising in the $J/ψp$ invariant mass distributions, which may bring ambiguities on our understanding of the nature of the exotic states. Searching for the heavy pentaquark in different processes may help us to clarify the ambiguities, because of the highly process-dependent characteristic of the TS mechanism.

Understanding the newly observed heavy pentaquark candidates

We find that several thresholds can contribute to the enhancements of the newly observed heavy pentaquark candidates $P_c^+(4380)$ and $P_c^+(4450)$ via the anomalous triangle singularity (ATS) transitions in the specific kinematics of $Λ_b\to J/ψK^- p$. Apart from the observed two peaks we find that another peaks around 4.5 GeV can also be produced by the ATS. We also show that the $Σ_c^{(*)}$ can be produced at leading order in $Λ_b$ decay. This process is different from the triangle diagram and its threshold enhancement only appears as CUSP effects if there is no pole structure or the ATS involved. The threshold interaction associated with the presence of the ATS turns out to be a general phenomenon and plays a crucial role in the understanding of candidates for exotic states.

Photoproduction of hidden charm pentaquark states $P_c^+(4380)$ and $P_c^+(4450)$

We propose to study the pentaquark candidates of $P_c^+(4380)$ and $P_c^+(4450)$ in $J/ψ$ photoproduction and look for further experimental evidence for their nature. Since the photoproduction process does not satisfy the so-called "anomalous triangle singularity" condition their presence in $J/ψ$ photoproduction would conclude that they should be genuine states and provide further evidence for their existence.

Searching for charmoniumlike states with hidden $s\bar{s}$

We investigate the processes $e^+e^-$$\to$$γJ/ψϕ$, $γJ/ψω$ and $π^0 J/ψη$ to search for the charmnium-like states with hidden $s\bar{s}$, such as $Y(4140)$, $Y(4274)$, $X(4350)$ and $X(3915)$. These processes will receive contributions from the charmed-strange meson rescatterings. When the center-of-mass energies of the $e^+e^-$ scatterings are taken around the $D_{s0}(2317)D_s^{*}$, $D_{s1}(2460)D_s$ or $D_{s1}(2460)D_s^{*}$ threshold, the anomalous triangle singularities can be present in the rescattering amplitudes, which implies a non-resonance explanation about the resonance-like structures. The positions of the anomalous triangle singularities are sensitive to the kinematics, which offers us a criterion to distinguish the kinematic singularities from genuine particles.

Exotic Four Quark Matter: $Z_1(4475)$

Motivated by the LHCb's recent confirmation of $Z_1(4475)$ as the $J^P=1^+$ resonance, we investigate various exotic interpretations of $Z_1(4475)$, which may be an axial vector tetraquark state, the P-wave excitation of the S-wave $D_1 {\bar D}^\ast$ or $D_2 {\bar D}^\ast$ molecule, the S-wave molecule composed of a $D$ or $D^*$ meson and a D-wave vector $D$ meson, or the cousin molecular state of $Z_c(3900)$ and $Z_c(4020)$ composed of a $D$ or $D^*$ meson and their radial excitations. With the help of the heavy quark symmetry, we predict the typical radiative and hidden-charm and open-charm strong decay patterns of $Z_1(4475)$, which are crucial to further identify the molecular state assignment of $Z_1(4475)$.

Probing the $XYZ$ states through radiative decays

In this work, we have adopted the spin rearrangement scheme in the heavy quark limit and extensively investigated three classes of the radiative decays: $\mathfrak{M}\to (b\bar{b})+γ$, $(b\bar{b})\to \mathfrak{M}+γ$, $ \mathfrak{M} \to \mathfrak{M}^\prime+γ$, corresponding to the electromagnetic transitions between one molecular state and bottomonium, one bottomonium and molecular state, and two molecular states respectively. We also extend the same formalism to study the radiative decays of the molecular states with hidden charm. We have derived some model independent ratios when the initial or final states belong to the same spin flavor multiplet. Future experimental measurement of these ratios will test the molecular picture and explore the underlying structures of the $XYZ$ states.

Resolving the puzzling decay patterns of charged $Z_c$ and $Z_b$ states

We investigate the ratio of the branching fractions of the molecular candidates decaying into the ground and radially excited states within the quark interchange model. Our numerical results suggest that these molecular candidates are more likely to decay into the radially excited states than into ground states. Especially, the ratio $Γ[Z_c(4430)\to πψ(2S)]$/$Γ[Z_c(4430)\to πJ/ψ]\sim 9.8$ is close to the experimental measurement, which supports the interpretation of $Z_c(4430)$ as the $\bar{D}D^*(2S)$ molecular state. The ratios of the branching fractions of $Z_b(10610)$ and $Z_b(10650)$ to $πΥ(2S, 3S)$ and $πΥ(1S)$ agrees very well with Belle's measurement. We also predict the similar ratios for $Z_c(3900)$, $Z_c(4020)$, $R_{Z_c(3900)}$$\approx$1.3 and $R_{Z_c(4020)}$$\approx$$4.7$. Hopefully the $πψ(2S)$ mode, and ratios $R_{Z_c(3900)}$ and $R_{Z_c(4020)}$ will be measured by the BESIII and Belle collaborations in the near future, which shall be very helpful to understand the underlying dynamics of these exotic states.

Strong decays of the $XYZ$ states

Through the spin rearrangement scheme in the heavy quark limit, we have performed a comprehensive investigation of the decay pattern and production mechanism of the hidden beauty di-meson states, which are either composed of a P-wave bottom meson and an S-wave bottom meson or two S-wave bottom mesons. We further extend the corresponding formula to discuss the decay behavior of some charmonium-like states by combining the experimental information with our numerical results. The typical ratios presented in this work can be measured by future experiments like BESIII, Belle, LHCb and the forthcoming BelleII, which shall provide important clues to the inner structures of the exotic states.

Exploring the threshold behavior and implications on the nature of Y(4260) and $Z_c(3900)$

By assuming that Y(4260) either is a $D_1\bar{D}$ molecular state, or has sizeable couplings with $D_0 \bar{D}^*$ and $D_1^\prime \bar{D}$, we investigate several decay modes of Y(4260). Under the special kinematic configurations, triangle singularity (TS) may occur in the rescattering amplitude, which will significantly change the threshold behavior. Obvious threshold enhancements or narrow cusp structures appear quite naturally without introducing a genuine resonance. We emphasize that the radiative decay modes may be useful for studying $D^{(*)}\bar{D}$ $S$-wave scattering.

Further understanding of the non-$D\bar D$ decays of $ψ(3770)$

We provide details of the study of $ψ(3770)$ non-$D\bar D$ decays into $VP$, where $V$ and $P$ denote light vector meson and pseudoscalar meson, respectively. We find that the electromagnetic (EM) interaction plays little role in these processes, while the strong interaction dominates. The strong interaction can be separated into two parts, i.e. the short-distance part probing the wave function at origin and the long-distance part reflecting the soft gluon exchanged dynamics. The long-distance part is thus described by the intermediate charmed meson loops. We show that the transition of $ψ(3770)\to VP$ can be related to $ψ(3686)\to VP$ such that the parameters in our model can be constrained by comparing the different parts in $ψ(3770)\to VP$ to those in $ψ(3686)\to VP$. Our quantitative results confirm the findings of [Zhang {\it et al.}, Phys. Rev. Lett. 102, 172001 (2009)] that the OZI-rule-evading long-distance strong interaction via the IML plays an important role in $ψ(3770)$ decays, and could be a key towards a full understanding of the mysterious $ψ(3770)$ non-$D\bar{D}$ decay mechanism.

Investigating possible decay modes of $Y(4260)$ under the $D_1(2420)\bar D +c.c$ molecular state ansatz

By assuming that $Y(4260)$ is a $D_1\bar D$ molecular state, we investigate some hidden-charm and charmed pair decay channels of $Y(4260)$ via intermediate $D_1\bar D$ meson loops with an effective Lagrangian approach. Through investigating the $α$-dependence of branching ratios and ratios between different decay channels, we show that the intermediate $D_1 \bar D$ meson loops are crucial for driving these transitions of $Y(4260)$ studied here. The coupled channel effects turn out to be more important in $Y(4260) \to D^{*}\bar{D}^{*}$, which can be tested in the future experiments.

Extracting $ππ$ $S$-wave scattering lengths from cusp effect in heavy quarkonium dipion transitions

Charge-exchange rescattering $π^+π^-\to π^0π^0$ leads to a cusp effect in the $π^0π^0$ invariant mass spectrum of processes with $π^0π^0$ in the final state which can be used to measure $ππ$ $S$-wave scattering lengths. Employing a non-relativistic effective field theory, we discuss the possibility of extracting the scattering lengths in heavy quarkonium $π^0π^0$ transitions. The transition $Υ(3S)\toΥ(2S)π^0π^0$ is studied in details. We discuss the precision that can be reached in such an extraction for a certain number of events.

The nature of X(3900) and recognition of open charm effects

We identify open charm effects in a direct production process $e^+e^-\to J/ψπ^0$. A unique feature of this process is that the $D\bar{D}^*+c.c.$ threshold is located at a relatively isolated energy region, i.e. $\sim 3.876 \ \mathrm{GeV}$, which is far away from the well-established charmonia $ψ(3770)$ and $ψ(4040)$. Therefore, the cross section line-shape of this reaction provides an opportunity for singling out the open charm effects. A model-independent narrow enhancement between the thresholds of $D^0\bar{D}^{*0}+c.c.$ and $D^+D^{*-}+c.c.$ is predicted. This study can also help understand the X(3900) enhancement recently observed by the Belle and BaBar Collaboration in $e^+e^-\to D\bar{D}+c.c.$ We also show that the open charm effects play a crucial role for our understanding of the long-standing "$ρπ$ puzzle".

The puzzle of anomalously large isospin violations in $η(1405/1475)\to 3π$

The BES-III Collaboration recently report the observation of anomalously large isospin violations in $J/ψ\to γη(1405/1475) \to γπ^0 f_0(980)\to γ+3π$, where the $f_0(980)$ in the $ππ$ invariant mass spectrum appears to be much narrower ($\sim$ 10 MeV) than the peak width ($\sim$50 MeV) measured in other processes. We show that a mechanism, named as triangle singularity (TS), can produce a narrow enhancement between the charged and neutral $K\bar{K}$ thresholds, i.e., $2m_{K^\pm}\sim 2m_{K^0}$. It can also lead to different invariant mass spectra for $η(1405/1475)\to a_0(980)π$ and $K\bar{K}^*+c.c.$, which can possibly explain the long-standing puzzle about the need for two close states $η(1405)$ and $η(1475)$ in $ηππ$ and $K\bar{K}π$, respectively. The TS could be a key to our understanding of the nature of $η(1405/1475)$ and advance our knowledge about the mixing between $a_0(980)$ and $f_0(980)$.

Updated study of the $η_c$ and $η_c^\prime$ decays into light vector mesons

We re-investigate the exclusive decays of $η_c$ and $η_c^\prime$ to a pair of light vector mesons, i.e. $η_c (η_c')\to VV$. The long-distance intermediate meson loop (IML) effects are evaluated as a non-perturbative mechanism in addition to the short-distance $c\bar{c}$ annihilation contributions. We show that both processes can be reasonably well constrained with the help of the available experimental data. Since $η_c$ and $η_c'$ are the spin-0 partners of $J/ψ$ and $ψ'$, respectively, our study is useful for gaining insights into the pQCD helicity selection rule violations in charmonium decays and the long-standing "$ρπ$ puzzle".

Further study of the helicity selection rule evading mechanism in $η_c$, $χ_{c0}$ and $h_c$ decaying to baryon anti-baryon pairs

We investigate the long distance contribution via charmed hadron loops in the processes $η_c$, $χ_{c0}$ and $h_c$ decaying to baryon anti-baryon pairs, which are supposed to be highly suppressed by the helicity selection rule as a consequence of the perturbative QCD framework. With an effective Lagrangian method, our estimation result indicates that such hadron loops play an important role in these hadronic decays. It is a further test of the evading mechanism for the helicity selection rule in charmonium baryon-antibaryon decays.

Open charm effects in $e^+e^-\to J/ψη$, $J/ψπ^0$ and $ϕη_c$

We propose to study the open charm effects in $e^+ e^-\to J/ψη$, $J/ψπ^0$ and $ϕη_c$. We show that the exclusive cross section lineshapes of these processes would be strongly affected by the open charm effects. Since the final state light meson productions are through soft gluon radiations, we assume a recognition of this soft process via charmed meson loops at hadronic level. A unique feature among these three reactions is that the $D\bar{D^*}+c.c.$ open channel is located in a relatively isolated energy, i.e. $\sim 3.876$ GeV, which is sufficiently far away from the known charmonia $ψ(3770)$ and $ψ(4040)$. Therefore, the cross section lineshapes of these reactions may provide an opportunity for singling out the open charm effects with relatively well-defined charmonium contributions. In particular, we find that reaction $e^+ e^-\to J/ψπ^0$ is sensitive to the open charm $D\bar{D^*}+c.c.$ Due to the dominance of the isospin-0 component at the charmonium energy region, we predict an enhanced model-independent cusp effect between the thresholds of $D^0\bar{D}^0+c.c.$ and $D^+ D^{*-}+c.c.$ This study can also help us to understand the X(3900) enhancement recently observed by Belle Collaboration in $e^+ e^-\to D\bar{D}+c.c.$

Study of $η_c$ and $η_c^\prime$ decays into vector meson pairs

The processes of $η_c (η_c')\to VV$ are supposed to be suppressed by the helicity selection rule (HSR) but found to be rather important decay modes in experiment for $η_c$. We try to distinguish the short-distance transitions via the singly disconnected Okubo-Zweig-Iizuka (SOZI) processes and the doubly disconnected (DOZI) processes in $η_c (η_c')\to VV$. It shows that the SOZI processes can be related to the $η_c(η_c')$ wavefunctions at the origin. Therefore, a relation of the decay branching ratio fraction between these two decay channels can be established. Such a relation is similar to that for $J/ψ$ and $ψ^\prime\to VP$, where the so-called "$ρπ$ puzzle" has been existed for a while. We also show that the intermediate charmed meson loop transitions provide an evading mechanism for the DOZI processes. This contribution would turn out to be more important in $η_c^\prime\to VV$. As a consequence, it may produce significant deviations from the SOZI-dominant scenario. Future experimental measurement of the $η_c^\prime\to VV$ by BESIII should be able to clarify the DOZI-evading mechanisms.

The evasion of helicity selection rule in $χ_{c1}\to VV$ and $χ_{c2}\to VP$ via intermediate charmed meson loops

The hadronic decays of $χ_{c1}\to VV$ and $χ_{c2}\to VP$ are supposed to be suppressed by the helicity selection rule in the pQCD framework. With an effective Lagrangian method, we show that the intermediate charmed meson loops can provide a mechanism for the evasion of the helicity selection rule, and result in sizeable decay branching ratios in some of those channels. The theoretical predictions can be examined by the forthcoming BES-III data in the near future.
