Conflict-aware Inference of Python Compatible Runtime Environments with Domain Knowledge Graph

Code sharing and reuse is a widespread use practice in software engineering. Although a vast amount of open-source Python code is accessible on many online platforms, programmers often find it difficult to restore a successful runtime environment. Previous studies validated automatic inference of Python dependencies using pre-built knowledge bases. However, these studies do not cover sufficient knowledge to accurately match the Python code and also ignore the potential conflicts between their inferred dependencies, thus resulting in a low success rate of inference. In this paper, we propose PyCRE, a new approach to automatically inferring Python compatible runtime environments with domain knowledge graph (KG). Specifically, we design a domain-specific ontology for Python third-party packages and construct KGs for over 10,000 popular packages in Python 2 and Python 3. PyCRE discovers candidate libraries by measuring the matching degree between the known libraries and the third-party resources used in target code. For the NP-complete problem of dependency solving, we propose a heuristic graph traversal algorithm to efficiently guarantee the compatibility between packages. PyCRE achieves superior performance on a real-world dataset and efficiently resolves nearly half more import errors than previous methods.

Some notes on endpoint estimates for pseudo-differential operators

We study the pseudo-differential operator \begin{equation*} T_a f\left(x\right)=\int_{\mathbb{R}^n}e^{ix\cdotξ}a\left(x,ξ\right)\widehat{f}\left(ξ\right)\,\textrm{d}ξ, \end{equation*} where the symbol $a$ is in the Hörmander class $S^{m}_{ρ,1}$ or more generally in the rough Hörmander class $L^{\infty}S^{m}_ρ$ with $m\in\mathbb{R}$ and $ρ\in [0,1]$. It is known that $T_a$ is bounded on $L^1(\mathbb{R}^n)$ for $m<n(ρ-1)$. In this paper we mainly investigate its boundedness properties when $m$ is equal to the critical index $n(ρ-1)$. For any $0\leq ρ\leq 1$ we construct a symbol $a\in S^{n(ρ-1)}_{ρ,1}$ such that $T_a$ is unbounded on $L^1$ and furthermore it is not of weak type $(1,1)$ if $ρ=0$. On the other hand we prove that $T_a$ is bounded from $H^1$ to $L^1$ if $0\leq ρ<1$ and construct a symbol $a\in S^0_{1,1}$ such that $T_a$ is unbounded from $H^1$ to $L^1$. Finally, as a complement, for any $1<p<\infty$ we give an example $a\in S^{-1/p}_{0,1}$ such that $T_a$ is unbounded on $L^p(\mathbb{R})$.

Effect of gluon condensate on holographic Schwinger effect

We perform the potential analysis in holographic Schwinger effect in a deformed anti-de Sitter (AdS) background with backreaction due to the gluon condensate. We determine the potential by analyzing the classical string action attaching on a probe D3-brane sitting at an intermediate position in the bulk AdS space. It is found that the inclusion of the gluon condensate reduces the production rate, reverse to the effect of the temperature. Also, we evaluate the critical electric field by Dirac-Born-Infeld (DBI) action.

Systematic investigation of the particle spectra in Heavy-ion collisions at the Large Hadron Collider

We investigate the charged particle spectra produced in the heavy-ion collisions at nine centralities from different systems, i.e., Pb+Pb at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=2.76$ TeV and 5.02 TeV as well as Xe+Xe at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=5.44$ TeV, at Large Hadron Collider (LHC) using one empirical formula inspired by the solution of the Fokker-Planck equation, dubbed as the generalized Fokker-Planck solution (GFPS). Our results show that the GFPS can reproduce the experimental particle spectrum up to transverse momentum $p_T$ about 45 GeV/c with the maximum discrepancy 30\% covering 10 orders of magnitude. The discrepancy between the data and the results from the GFPS decreases to 15\% when the maximum of the charged particle transverse momentum is cut to 20 GeV/c. We confirmed that the Tsallis distribution derived from the non-extensive statistics, which can reproduce the particle spectra produced in small collision systems, such as p+p, up to few hundreds GeV/c, can only apply to systematically study the particle spectra up to 8 GeV/c in A+A collisions at LHC, as pointed out in the study of identified particle spectra in Pb+Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=2.76$ TeV. The possible explanation why GFPS functions well is also discussed.

Spectra and elliptic flow of (multi-)strange hadrons at RHIC and LHC within viscous hydrodynamics+hadron cascade hybrid model

Using the (2+1)-dimensional ultrarelativistic viscous hydrodynamics+hadron cascade, VISHNU, hybrid model, we study the $p_{\rm T}$-spectra and elliptic flow of $Λ$, $Ξ$, and $Ω$ in Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$=200 GeV and in Pb+Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$=2.76 TeV. Comparing our model results with the data measurements, we find that the VISHNU model gives general descriptions of the measurements of these strange and multi-strange hadrons at several centrality classes at RHIC and LHC. Mass ordering of elliptic flow $v_{2}$ among $π$, $K$, $p$, $Λ$, $Ξ$, and $Ω$ are further investigated and discussed at the two collision systems. We find, at both RHIC and LHC, the $v_{2}$ mass ordering among $π$, $K$, $p$, and $Ω$ are fairly reproduced within the VISHNU hybrid model, and more improvements are needed to implement for well describing the $v_{2}$ mass ordering among $p$, $Λ$, and $Ξ$.

A hybrid model approach for strange and multi-strange hadrons in 2.76 A TeV Pb+Pb collisions

Using the VISHNU hybrid model, we calculate the multiplicity, spectra, and elliptic flow of $Λ$, $Ξ$ and $Ω$ in 2.76 A TeV Pb+Pb collisions. Comparisons between our calculations and the ALICE measurements show that the model generally describes the soft hadron data of these strange and multi-strange hadrons at several centrality bins. Mass ordering of elliptic flow among $π$, K, p, $Λ$, $Ξ$ and $Ω$ has also been studied and discussed. With a nice description of the particle yields, we explore chemical and thermal freeze-out of various hadrons species at the LHC within the framework of the VISHNU hybrid model.

Chemical and thermal freeze-out of identified hadrons at the LHC

This proceeding briefly summarizes our recent VISHNU hybrid model investigations on the chemical and thermal freeze-out of various hadrons species in 2.76 A TeV Pb+Pb collisions. Detailed analysis on the evolution of particle yields and the last elastic collisions distributions during the hadronic evolution reveals that the two multi-strange hadrons, $Ξ$ and $Ω$, experience early chemical and thermal freeze-out when compared with other hadron species.

Hadronic "flow" in p--Pb collisions at the Large Hadron Collider?

Using the Ultra-relativistic Quantum Molecular Dynamics (UrQMD) model, we investigate azimuthal correlations in p--Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{_{\rm NN}}}=5.02$ TeV. Comparison with the experimental data shows that UrQMD can not reproduce the multiplicity dependence of 2- and 4-particle cumulants, especially the transition from positive to negative values of $c_{2}\{4\}$ in high multiplicity events, which has been taken as experimental evidence of collectivity in p--Pb collisions. Meanwhile, UrQMD can not qualitatively describe the differential elliptic flow, $v_{2}(p_{\rm T})$, of all charged hadrons at various multiplicity classes. These discrepancies show that the simulated hadronic p--Pb systems can not generate enough collective flow as observed in experiment, the associated hadron emissions are largely influenced by non-flow effects. However, the characteristic $v_{2}(p_{\rm T})$ mass-ordering of pions, kaons and protons is observed in UrQMD, which is the consequence of hadronic interactions and not necessarily associated with strong fluid-like expansions.

Is hadronic flow produced in p--Pb collisions at the Large Hadron Collider?

Using the Ultra-relativistic Quantum Molecular Dynamics ({\tt UrQMD}) model, we investigate the azimuthal correlations in p--Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{_{\rm NN}}}=5.02$ TeV. It is shown that the simulated hadronic p--Pb system can not generate the collective flow signatures, but mainly behaves as a non-flow dominant system. However, the characteristic $v_{2}(p_{\rm T})$ mass-ordering of pions, kaons and protons is observed in {\tt UrQMD} simulations, which is the consequence of hadronic interactions and not necessarily associated with strong fluid-like expansions.

Physics perspectives of heavy-ion collisions at very high energy

Heavy-ion collisions at very high colliding energies are expected to produce a quark-gluon plasma (QGP) at the highest temperature obtainable in a laboratory setting. Experimental studies of these reactions can provide an unprecedented range of information on properties of the QGP at high temperatures. We report theoretical investigations of the physics perspectives of heavy-ion collisions at a future high-energy collider. These include initial parton production, collective expansion of the dense medium, jet quenching, heavy-quark transport, dissociation and regeneration of quarkonia, photon and dilepton production. We illustrate the potential of future experimental studies of the initial particle production and formation of QGP at the highest temperature to provide constraints on properties of strongly interaction matter.

Spectra and elliptic flow for $Λ$, $Ξ$, and $Ω$ in 200 A GeV Au+Au collisions

Using VISHNU hybrid model, we calculate the $p_{\rm T}$-spectra and elliptic flow of $Λ$, $Ξ$, and $Ω$ in 200 A GeV Au+Au collisions. Comparisons with the STAR measurements show that the model generally describes these soft hadron data. We also briefly study and discuss the mass ordering of elliptic flow among $π$, $K$, $p$, $Λ$, $Ξ$, and $Ω$ in minimum bias Au+Au collisions.
