Duality of Ryu-Takayanagi surfaces inside and outside the horizon

We study the Ryu-Takayanagi (RT) surfaces associated with timelike subregions in static spacetimes with a horizon. It is possible to find the analytical continuation of the RT surfaces that can extend into the horizon, allowing us to probe the interior of the black hole. The horizon typically divides the RT surface into two distinct parts. We demonstrate that the area of the surface inside the horizon can be reconstructed from the contributions of the surfaces outside the horizon, along with additional RT surfaces for spacelike subregions that are causally related to the timelike subregions. This result provides a concrete realization of black hole complementarity at the level of classical metric, where the spacetime in the black hole interior can be reconstructed from the degrees of freedom outside the horizon.

Entanglement of General Subregions in Time-Dependent States

We develop a unified framework for computing Rényi and entanglement entropies of arbitrary spacetime intervals in time-dependent states of $(1+1)$-dimensional conformal field theories. By combining the spacetime density matrix formalism with the replica method, we show that entanglement entropy is well defined for both spacelike and timelike separations. Applying this framework to global quenches prepared by boundary states and to local quenches generated by operator insertions, we obtain analytic expressions for the entanglement entropy in general spacetime configurations. The results reveal qualitative differences between spacelike and timelike intervals: the timelike entanglement entropy is time-independent in the global quench model, depends solely on the temporal separation, and universally exhibits a constant imaginary contribution. These features are naturally explained by a generalized quasiparticle picture in which entanglement is produced precisely when one worldline of each quasiparticle pair intersects the interval. Furthermore, we demonstrate that the linear sum rule relating time- and spacelike entanglement persists in both global and local quenches, indicating a broader universality of spacetime entanglement in real-time quantum dynamics.

Relation between time- and spacelike entanglement entropy

In this study, we establish a connection between timelike and spacelike entanglement entropy. We show that timelike entanglement entropy is closely related to spacelike entanglement entropy and its temporal derivative. For a broad class of states, it can be uniquely determined by a linear combination of spacelike entanglement entropy and its first-order temporal derivative. This relation holds, for instance, in states conformally equivalent to the vacuum in two-dimensional conformal field theories. For more general states, we demonstrate that the relation can be constructed perturbatively. Our results suggest that timelike entanglement entropy is constrained by causality. Moreover, this relation provides a unified framework for timelike and spacelike entanglement entropy, within which the imaginary component of timelike entanglement entropy can be understood as arising from the non-commutativity between the twist operator and its first-order temporal derivative.

Correlations in geometric states

In this paper we explore the correlations in the geometric states. Here the geometric state means the state in CFTs that can be effectively described by classical geometry in the bulk in the semi-classical limit $G\to 0$. By using the upper bound of Holevo informaion we show the covex combination of geometric states cannot be a geometric state. To understand the duality between thermofield double state and eternal black hle, we construct several correlated states of two CFTs. In all the examples we show their correlations are too weak to produce the a connected spacetime. we review the measure named quantum discord and use it to characterize the classical and quantum correlations in quantum field theories. Finally, we discuss the correlations between two intervals $A$ and $B$ with distance $d$ in the vacuum state of 2D CFTs with large central charge $c$. The feature is the phase transition of the mutual information $I(ρ_{AB})$. We analyse the quasi-product state of $ρ_{AB}$ for large $d$. By using the Koashi-Winter relation of tripartite states the quantum and classical correlations between $A$ and $B$ can expressed as Holevo information, which provides a new understanding of the correlations as accessible information.

Entanglement spectrum of geometric states

The reduced density matrix of a given subsystem, denoted by $ρ_A$, contains the information on subregion duality in a holographic theory. We may extract the information by using the spectrum (eigenvalue) of the matrix, called entanglement spectrum in this paper. We evaluate the density of eigenstates, one-point and two-point correlation functions in the microcanonical ensemble state $ρ_{A,m}$ associated with an eigenvalue $λ$ for some examples, including a single interval and two intervals in vacuum state of 2D CFTs. We find there exists a microcanonical ensemble state with $λ_0$ which can be seen as an approximate state of $ρ_A$. The parameter $λ_0$ is obtained in the two examples. For a general geometric state, the approximate microcanonical ensemble state also exists. The parameter $λ_0$ is associated with the entanglement entropy of $A$ and Rényi entropy in the limit $n\to \infty$. As an application of the above conclusion we reform the equality case of the Araki-Lieb inequality of the entanglement entropies of two intervals in vacuum state of 2D CFTs as conditions of Holevo information. We show the constraints on the eigenstates. Finally, we point out some unsolved problems and their significance on understanding the geometric states.

Coherent state, local excitation in 2D conformal field theory

In this paper we discuss the topics concerning the local excitation and coherent state in 2D CFT. It is shown that the local excitation of primary operator can be taken as a coherent state of the global conformal group. We also discuss the entanglement property of such state. For rational CFT the entanglement entropy between the holomorphic and anti-holomorphic sector of the local excitation of some primary operator is related to the quantum dimension of the operator, consistent with previous approach, but by a differentmethod. We comment on the possible application of so-defined group coherent state in the holographic view. We also study the coherent state in the free massless boson field, their time evolution and entanglement property. We introduce the deformed local excitation and the entangled state constructed by them. It is shown the violation of Bell inequality for such entangled state.

Entanglement Entropy for Descendent Local Operators in 2D CFTs

We mainly study the Rényi entropy and entanglement entropy of the states locally excited by the descendent operators in two dimensional conformal field theories (CFTs). In rational CFTs, we prove that the increase of entanglement entropy and Rényi entropy for a class of descendent operators, which are generated by $\cal{L}^{(-)}\bar{\cal{L}}^{(-)}$ onto the primary operator, always coincide with the logarithmic of quantum dimension of the corresponding primary operator. That means the Rényi entropy and entanglement entropy for these descendent operators are the same as the ones of their corresponding primary operator. For 2D rational CFTs with a boundary, we confirm that the Rényi entropy always coincides with the logarithmic of quantum dimension of the primary operator during some periods of the evolution. Furthermore, we consider more general descendent operators generated by $\sum_{} d_{\{n_i\}\{n_j\}}(\prod_{i} L_{-n_i}\prod_{j}{\bar L}_{-n_j})$ on the primary operator. For these operators, the entanglement entropy and Rényi entropy get additional corrections, as the mixing of holomorphic and anti-holomorphic Virasoro generators enhance the entanglement. Finally, we employ perturbative CFT techniques to evaluate the Rényi entropy of the excited operators in deformed CFT. The Rényi and entanglement entropies are increased, and get contributions not only from local excited operators but also from global deformation of the theory.

Entropy for gravitational Chern-Simons terms by squashed cone method

In this paper we investigate the entropy of gravitational Chern-Simons terms for the horizon with non-vanishing extrinsic curvatures, or the holographic entanglement entropy for arbitrary entangling surface. In 3D we find no anomaly of entropy appears. But the squashed cone method can not be used directly to get the correct result. For higher dimensions the anomaly of entropy would appear, still, we can not use the squashed cone method directly. That is becasuse the Chern-Simons action is not gauge invariant. To get a reasonable result we suggest two methods. One is by adding a boundary term to recover the gauge invariance. This boundary term can be derived from the variation of the Chern-Simons action. The other one is by using the Chern-Simons relation $d\bm{Ω_{4n-1}}=tr(\bm{R}^{2n})$. We notice that the entropy of $tr(\bm{R}^{2n})$ is a total derivative locally, i.e. $S=d s_{CS}$. We propose to identify $s_{CS}$ with the entropy of gravitational Chern-Simons terms $Ω_{4n-1}$. In the first method we could get the correct result for Wald entropy in arbitrary dimension. In the second approach, in addition to Wald entropy, we can also obtain the anomaly of entropy with non-zero extrinsic curvatures. Our results imply that the entropy of a topological invariant, such as the Pontryagin term $tr(\bm{R}^{2n})$ and the Euler density, is a topological invariant on the entangling surface.

Holographic Entanglement Entropy for the Most General Higher Derivative Gravity

The holographic entanglement entropy for the most general higher derivative gravity is investigated. We find a new type of Wald entropy, which appears on entangling surface without the rotational symmetry and reduces to usual Wald entropy on Killing horizon. Furthermore, we obtain a formal formula of HEE for the most general higher derivative gravity and work it out exactly for some squashed cones. As an important application, we derive HEE for gravitational action with one derivative of the curvature when the extrinsic curvature vanishes. We also study some toy models with non-zero extrinsic curvature. We prove that our formula yields the correct universal term of entanglement entropy for 4d CFTs. Furthermore, we solve the puzzle raised by Hung, Myers and Smolkin that the logarithmic term of entanglement entropy derived from Weyl anomaly of CFTs does not match the holographic result even if the extrinsic curvature vanishes. We find that such mismatch comes from the `anomaly of entropy' of the derivative of curvature. After considering such contributions carefully, we resolve the puzzle successfully. In general, we need to fix the splitting problem for the conical metrics in order to derive the holographic entanglement entropy. We find that, at least for Einstein gravity, the splitting problem can be fixed by using equations of motion. How to derive the splittings for higher derivative gravity is a non-trivial and open question. For simplicity, we ignore the splitting problem in this paper and find that it does not affect our main results.

Rényi entropy of locally excited states with thermal and boundary effect in 2D CFTs

We study Rényi entropy of locally excited states with considering the thermal and boundary effects respectively in two dimensional conformal field theories (CFTs). Firstly we consider locally excited states obtained by acting primary operators on a thermal state in low temperature limit. The Rényi entropy is summation of contribution from thermal effect and local excitation. Secondly, we mainly study the Rényi entropy of locally excited states in 2D CFT with a boundary. We show that the evolution of Rényi entropy does not depend on the choice of boundary conditions and boundary will change the time evolution of Rényi entropy. Moreover, in 2D rational CFTs with a boundary, we show that the Rényi entropy always coincides with the log of quantum dimension of the primary operator during some periods of the evolution. We make use of a quasi-particle picture to understand this phenomenon. In terms of quasi-particle interpretation, the boundary behaves as an infinite potential barrier which reflects any energy moving towards the boundary.

Holographic Rényi Entropy and Generalized Entropy method

In this paper we use the method of generalized gravitational entropy in \cite{Lewkowycz:2013nqa} to construct the dual bulk geometry for a spherical entangling surface, and calculate the Rényi entropy with the dual bulk gravity theory being either Einstein gravity or Lovelock gravity, this approach is closely related to that in \cite{Casini:2011kv}. For a general entangling surface we derive the area law of entanglement entropy. The area law is closely related with the local property of the entangling surface.

Note on Entanglement Temperature for Low Thermal Excited States in Higher Derivative Gravity

We investigate the entanglement temperature of a small scale subsystem in low excited states by using holographic method. Especially, we study the entanglement entropy and entanglement temperature in higher derivative gravities which are considered as low thermal excitation of pure AdS gravity. We find that the entanglement entropy are related to the central charges of boundary CFT. The relation between the variance of entanglement entropy and energy of a small scale subsystem has been also obtained. Furthermore, the relation is consistent with the first law-like relation that is proposed by Phys. Rev. Lett. 110, 091602 (2013). Finally, we derive the formula of the variance of entanglement entropy in general excited states in gravity background with the Fefferman-Graham coordinates and the entanglement temperature can be figured out in special case.

A Possible Hermitian Neutrino Mixing Ansatz

Using a recent global analysis result after the precise measurement of $θ_ {13}$, a possible Herimtian neutrino mixing ansatz is discussed, the mixing matrix is symmetric and also symmetric with respect with the second diagonal line in the leading order. This leading order ansatz predicts $θ_{13}=12.2^\circ$. Next, consider the hierarchy structure of the lepton mass matrix as the origin of perturbation of the mixing matrix, we find that this ansatz with perturbation can fit current data very well.
