IEC61850 Sample-Value Service Based on Reduced Application Service Data Unit for Energy IOT

With the development of 5G technology and low-power wireless communication technology, a large number of IOT devices are introduced into energy systems. Existing IOT communication protocols such as MQQT and COAP cannot meet the requirements of high reliability and real-time performance. However, the 61850-9-2 Sample value protocol is relatively complex and the message length is large, difficult to ensure real-time transmission for IOT devices with limited transmission rate. This paper proposes a 9-2 Sample Value protocol for IOT controller based on Application Service Data Unit. The communication protocol is strictly in accordance with IEC61850-9-2 and can be recognized by existing intelligent electronic devices such as merging units. The protocol simplifies and trims some parameters, and changes the floating point value to integer data. Considering the instability of wireless communication, uni-cast or multicast UDP/IP is utilized to send SV Payload based on the 2.4GHz WIFI. The maximum transmission rate can be up to 30 Mbps. The hardware to implement reduced SV adopts ESP32-S, which is a dual-core MCU supporting WIFI with frequency of 240MHz. Software is based on FreeRTOS, LWIP and Libiec61850. A PC or raspberry PI is used as the Host to receive and analyze packets, verifying feasibility of reduced SV protocols.

Domain Agnostic Feature Learning for Image and Video Based Face Anti-spoofing

Nowadays, the increasingly growing number of mobile and computing devices has led to a demand for safer user authentication systems. Face anti-spoofing is a measure towards this direction for bio-metric user authentication, and in particular face recognition, that tries to prevent spoof attacks. The state-of-the-art anti-spoofing techniques leverage the ability of deep neural networks to learn discriminative features, based on cues from the training set images or video samples, in an effort to detect spoof attacks. However, due to the particular nature of the problem, i.e. large variability due to factors like different backgrounds, lighting conditions, camera resolutions, spoof materials, etc., these techniques typically fail to generalize to new samples. In this paper, we explicitly tackle this problem and propose a class-conditional domain discriminator module, that, coupled with a gradient reversal layer, tries to generate live and spoof features that are discriminative, but at the same time robust against the aforementioned variability factors. Extensive experimental analysis shows the effectiveness of the proposed method over existing image- and video-based anti-spoofing techniques, both in terms of numerical improvement as well as when visualizing the learned features.

Giant photonic spin Hall effect near the Dirac points

The origin of spin-orbit interaction of light at a conventional optical interface lies in the transverse nature of the photon polarization: The polarizations associated with the plane-wave components experience slightly different rotations in order to satisfy the transversality after reflection or refraction. Recent advances in topological photonic materials provide crucial opportunities to reexamine the spin-orbit interaction of light at the unique optical interface. Here, we establish a general model to describe the spin-orbit interaction of light in the photonic Dirac metacrystal. We find a giant photonic spin Hall effect near the Dirac points when a Gaussian beam impinges at the interface of the photonic Dirac metacrystal. The giant photonic spin Hall effect is attribute to the strong spin-orbit interaction of light, which manifests itself as the large polarization rotations of different plane-wave components. We believe that these results may provide insight into the fundamental properties of the spin-orbit interaction of light in the topological photonic systems.
