Local Zeta Functions for Non-degenerate Laurent Polynomials Over p-adic Fields

In this article, we study local zeta functions attached to Laurent polynomials over p-adic fields, which are non-degenerate with respect to their Newton polytopes at infinity. As an application we obtain asymptotic expansions for p-adic oscillatory integrals attached to Laurent polynomials. We show the existence of two different asymptotic expansions for p-adic oscillatory integrals, one when the absolute value of the parameter approaches infinity, the other when the absolute value of the parameter approaches zero. These two asymptotic expansions are controlled by the poles of twisted local zeta functions of Igusa type.

Zeta functions and oscillatory integrals for meromorphic functions

In the 70's Igusa developed a uniform theory for local zeta functions and oscillatory integrals attached to polynomials with coefficients in a local field of characteristic zero. In the present article this theory is extended to the case of rational functions, or, more generally, meromorphic functions f/g, with coefficients in a local field of characteristic zero. This generalization is far from being straightforward due to the fact that several new geometric phenomena appear. Also, the oscillatory integrals have two different asymptotic expansions: the 'usual' one when the norm of the parameter tends to infinity, and another one when the norm of the parameter tends to zero. The first asymptotic expansion is controlled by the poles (with negative real parts) of all the twisted local zeta functions associated to the meromorphic functions f/g - c, for certain special values c. The second expansion is controlled by the poles (with positive real parts) of all the twisted local zeta functions associated to f/g.

Riesz Kernels and Pseudodifferential Operators Attached to Quadratic Forms Over p-adic Fields

We study pseudodifferential equations and Riesz kernels attached to certain quadratic forms over p-adic fields. We attach to an elliptic quadratic form of dimension two or four a family of distributions depending on a complex parameter, the Riesz kernels, and show that these distributions form an Abelian group under convolution. This result implies the existence of fundamental solutions for certain pseudodifferential equations like in the classical case.

Parabolic Type Equations and Markov Stochastic Processes on Adeles

In this paper we study the Cauchy problem for new classes of parabolic type pseudodifferential equations over the rings of finite adeles and adeles. We show that the adelic topology is metrizable and give an explicit metric. We find explicit representations of the fundamental solutions (the heat kernels). These fundamental solutions are transition functions of Markov processes which are adelic analogues of the Archimedean Brownian motion. We show that the Cauchy problems for these equations are well-posed and find explicit representations of the evolution semigroup and formulas for the solutions of homogeneous and non-homogeneous equations.

Exponential Sums and Polynomial Congruences Along p-adic Submanifolds

In this article, we consider the estimation of exponential sums along the points of the reduction mod $p^{m}$ of a $p$-adic analytic submanifold of $ \mathbb{Z}_{p}^{n}$. More precisely, we extend Igusa's stationary phase method to this type of exponential sums. We also study the number of solutions of a polynomial congruence along the points of the reduction mod $% p^{m}$ of a $p$-adic analytic submanifold of $\mathbb{Z}_{p}^{n}$. In addition, we attach a Poincare series to these numbers, and establish its rationality. In this way, we obtain geometric bounds for the number of solutions of the corresponding polynomial congruences.

Poles of Archimedean zeta functions for analytic mappings

In this paper, we give a description of the possible poles of the local zeta function attached to a complex or real analytic mapping in terms of a log-principalization of an ideal associated to the mapping. When the mapping is a non-degenerate one, we give an explicit list for the possible poles of the corresponding local zeta function in terms of the normal vectors to the supporting hyperplanes of a Newton polyhedron attached to the mapping, and some additional vectors (or rays) that appear in the construction of a simplicial conical subdivision of the first orthant. These results extend the corresponding results of Varchenko to the case l\geq1, and K=R or C. In the case l=1 and K=R, Denef and Sargos proved that the candidates poles induced by the extra rays required in the construction of a simplicial conical subdivision can be discarded from the list of candidate poles. We extend the Denef-Sargos result arbitrary l\geq1. This yields in general a much shorter list of candidate poles, that can moreover be read off immediately from the Newton polyhedron.

Pseudo-differential Operators with Semi-Quasielliptic Symbols Over p-adic Fields

In this article, we study pseudo-differential equations involving semi-quasielliptic symbols over p-adics. We determine the function spaces where such equations have solutions. We introduce the space of infinitely pseudo-differentiable functions with respect to a semi-quasielliptic operator. By using these spaces we show the existence of a regularization effect for certain parabolic equations over p-adics.
