On wave equation outside trapping obstacles and local energy decay in odd space dimensions

The purpose of the present paper is to establish appropriate cut-off resolvent estimates for the Dirichlet Laplacian on exterior domains. The geometrical assumptions on domains are rather general, for example, non-trapping condition is not imposed. The first key assumption guarantees the result on propagation of singularities, the second is the smallness of the Lebesgue measure of the portions of the trapped sets in the fibers of cosphere bundle, and the third concerns the upper bound of the sojourn time. As a by-product of these estimates, the local energy decay estimate for solutions to the initial-boundary value problem for wave equation in the case of odd space dimensions is obtained.

Compact embeddings for fractional super and sub harmonic functions with radial symmetry

We prove compactness of the embeddings in Sobolev spaces for fractional super and sub harmonic functions with radial symmetry. The main tool is a pointwise decay for radially symmetric functions belonging to a function space defined by finite homogeneous Sobolev norm together with finite $L^2$ norm of the Riesz potentials. As a byproduct we prove also existence of maximizers for the interpolation inequalities in Sobolev spaces for radially symmetric fractional super and sub harmonic functions.

On mass - critical NLS with local and non-local nonlinearities

We consider the following nonlinear Schrödinger equation with the double $L^2$-critical nonlinearities \begin{align*} iu_t+Δu+|u|^\frac{4}{3}u+μ\left(|x|^{-2}*|u|^2\right)u=0\ \ \ \text{in $\mathbb{R}^3$,} \end{align*} where $μ>0$ is small enough. Our first goal is to prove the existence and the non-degeneracy of the ground state $Q_μ$. In particular, we develop an appropriate perturbation approach to prove the radial non-degeneracy property and then obtain the general non-degeneracy of the ground state $Q_μ$. We then show the existence of finite time blowup solution with minimal mass $\|u_0\|_{L^2}=\|Q_μ\|_{L^2}$. More precisely, we construct the minimal mass blowup solutions that are parametrized by the energy $E_μ(u_0)>0$ and the momentum $P_μ(u_0)$. In addition, the non-degeneracy property plays crucial role in this construction.

Standing waves and global well-posedness for the 2d Hartree equation with a point interaction

We study a class of two-dimensional non-linear Schrödinger equations with point-like singular perturbation and Hartree non-linearity. The point-like singular perturbation of the free Laplacian induces appropriate perturbed Sobolev spaces that are necessary for the study of ground states and evolution flow. We include in our treatment both mass sub-critical and mass critical Hartree non-linearities. Our analysis is two-fold: we establish existence, symmetry, and regularity of ground states, and we demonstrate the well-posedness of the associated Cauchy problem in the singular perturbed energy space. The first goal, unlike other treatments emerging in parallel with the present work, is achieved by a non-trivial adaptation of the standard properties of Schwartz symmetrisation for the modified Weinstein functional. This produces, among others, modified Gagliardo-Nirenberg type inequalities that allow to efficiently control the non-linearity and obtain well-posedness by energy methods. The evolution flow is proved to be global in time in the defocusing case, and in the focusing and mass sub-critical case. It is also global in the focusing and mass critical case, for initial data that are suitably small in terms of the best Gagliardo-Nirenberg constant.

Nondispersive solutions to the mass critical half-wave equation in two dimensions

We consider the half-wave equation with mass critical in two dimension \begin{eqnarray*} \begin{cases} iu_t=Du-|u|u,\,\,\, \\ u(0,x)=u_0(x), \end{cases} \end{eqnarray*} First, we prove the existence of a family of traveling solitary waves. We then show the existence of finite-time blowup solutions with minimal mass $\|u_0\|_2=\|Q\|_2$, where $Q$ is the ground state solution of equation $DQ+Q=Q^2$.

Critical exponent of Fujita-type for the semilinear damped wave equation on the Heisenberg group with power nonlinearity

In this paper, we consider the Cauchy problem for the semilinear damped wave equation on the Heisenberg group with power nonlinearity. We prove that the critical exponent is the Fujita exponent $p_{\mathrm{Fuj}}(\mathscr{Q}) = 1+2 / \mathscr{Q}$, where $\mathscr{Q}$ is the homogeneous dimension of the Heisenberg group. On the one hand, we will prove the global existence of small data solutions for $p >p_{\mathrm{Fuj}}(\mathscr{Q})$ in an exponential weighted energy space. On the other hand, a blow-up result for $1 < p \leq p_{\mathrm{Fuj}}(\mathscr{Q})$ under certain integral sign assumptions for the Cauchy data by using the test function method.

Lifespan estimates for local in time solutions to the semilinear heat equation on the Heisenberg group

In this paper we consider the semilinear Cauchy problem for the heat equation with power nonlinearity in the Heisenberg group $\mathbf{H}_n$. The heat operator is given in this case by $\partial_t-Δ_H$, where $Δ_H$ is the so-called sub-Laplacian on $\mathbf{H}_n$. We prove that the Fujita exponent $1 + 2/Q$ is critical, where $Q = 2n + 2$ is the homogeneous dimension of $\mathbf{H}_n$. Furthermore, we prove sharp lifespan estimates for local in time solutions in the subcritical case and in the critical case. In order to get the upper bound estimate for the lifespan (especially, in the critical case) we employ a revisited test function method developed recently by Ikeda-Sobajima. On the other hand, to find the lower bound estimate for the lifespan we prove a local in time result in weighted $L^\infty$ space.

Hardy inequality and fractional Leibnitz rule for perturbed Hamiltonians on the line

We consider the following perturbed Hamiltonian $\mathcal{H}= -\partial_x^2 + V(x)$ on the real line. The potential $V(x)$ is a real - valued function of short range type. We study the equivalence of classical homogeneous Sobolev type spaces $\dot{H}^s_p$, $p \in (1,\infty)$ and the corresponding perturbed homogeneous Sobolev spaces associated with the perturbed Hamiltonian. It is shown that the assumption zero is not a resonance guarantees that the perturbed and unperturbed homogeneous Sobolev norms of order $s = γ- 1 \in [0,1/p)$ are equivalent. As a corollary, the corresponding wave operators leave classical homogeneous Sobolev spaces of order $s \in [0,1/p)$ invariant.

Long time dynamics for semirelativistic NLS and Half Wave in arbitrary dimension

We consider the Cauchy problems associated with semirelativistc NLS (sNLS) and half wave (HW). In particular we focus on the following two main questions: local/global Cauchy theory; existence and stability/instability of ground states. In between other results, we prove the existence and stability of ground states for sNLS in the $L^2$ supercritical regime. This is in sharp contrast with the instability of ground states for the corresponding HW, which is also established along the paper, by showing an inflation of norms phenomenon. Concerning the Cauchy theory we show, under radial symmetry assumption the following results: a local existence result in $H^1$ for energy subcritical nonlinearity and a global existence result in the $L^2$ subcritical regime.

On global well-posedness for nonlinear semirelativistic equations in some scaling subcritical and critical cases

In this paper, the global well-posedness of semirelativistic equations with a power type nonlinearity on Euclidean spaces is studied. In two dimensional $H^s$ scaling subcritical case with $1 \leq s \leq 2$, the local well-posedness follows from a Strichartz estimate. In higher dimensional $H^1$ scaling subcritical case, the local well-posedness for radial solutions follows from a weighted Strichartz estimate. Moreover, in three dimensional $H^1$ scaling critical case, the local well-posedness for radial solutions follows from a uniform bound of solutions which may be derived by the corresponding one dimensional problem. Local solutions may be extended by a priori estimates.

On homogeneous Besov spaces for $1D$ Hamiltonians without zero resonance

We consider 1-D Laplace operator with short range potential V(x), such that $$(1+|x|)^γV(x) \in L^1(R), \ \ γ> 1.$$ We study the equivalence of classical homogeneous Besov type spaces $\dot{B}^s_p(R)$, $p \in (1,\infty)$ and the corresponding perturbed homogeneous Besov spaces associated with the perturbed Hamiltonian $\mathcal{H}= -\partial_x^2 + V(x)$ on the real line. It is shown that the assumptions $1/p < γ-1$ and zero is not a resonance guarantee that the perturbed and unperturbed homogeneous Besov norms of order $s \in [0,1/p)$ are equivalent. As a corollary, the corresponding wave operators leave classical homogeneous Besov spaces of order $s \in [0,1/p)$ invariant.

Orbital stability and uniqueness of the ground state for NLS in dimension one

We prove that standing-waves solutions to the non-linear Schrödinger equation in dimension one whose profiles can be obtained as minima of the energy over the mass, are orbitally stable and non-degenerate, provided the non-linear term $ G $ satisfies a Euler differential inequality. When the non-linear term $ G $ is a combined pure power-type, then there is only one positive, symmetric minimum of prescribed mass.

Decay and scattering of small solutions of pure power NLS in $\R$ with $p>3$ and with a potential

We prove decay and scattering of solutions of the Nonlinear Schröding-er equation (NLS) in ${\mathbf R}$ with pure power nonlinearity with exponent $3<p<5$ when the initial datum is small in $Σ$ (bounded energy and variance), in the presence of a linear inhomogeneity represented by a linear potential which is a real valued Schwarz function. We assume absence of discrete modes. The proof is analogous to the one for the translation invariant equation. In particular we find appropriate operators commuting with the linearization.

Symmetry and uniqueness of minimizers of Hartree type equations with external Coulomb potential

In the present article we study the radial symmetry of minimizers of the energy functional, corresponding to the repulsive Hartree equation in external Coulomb potential. To overcome the difficulties, resulting from the "bad" sign of the nonlocal term, we modify the reflection method and then, by using Pohozaev integral identities we get the symmetry result.

Smoothing - Strichartz Estimates for the Schrodinger Equation with small Magnetic Potential

The work treats smoothing and dispersive properties of solutions to the Schrodinger equation with magnetic potential. Under suitable smallness assumption on the potential involving scale invariant norms we prove smoothing - Strichartz estimate for the corresponding Cauchy problem. An application that guarantees absence of pure point spectrum of the corresponding perturbed Laplace operator is discussed too.
