In this note we prove a new symmetrization result, in the form of mass concentration comparison, for solutions of nonlocal nonlinear Dirichlet problems involving fractional p Laplacians. Some regularity estimates of solutions will be established as a direct application of the main result.
We provide new direct methods to establish symmetrization results in the form of mass concentration (i.e., integral) comparison for fractional elliptic equations of the type $(-Δ)^{s}u=f$ $(0<s<1)$ in a bounded domain $Ω$, equipped with homogeneous boundary conditions. The classical pointwise Talenti rearrangement inequality is recovered in the limit $s\rightarrow1$. Finally, explicit counterexamples constructed for all $s\in(0,1)$ highlight that the same pointwise estimate cannot hold in a nonlocal setting, thus showing the optimality of our results.
Balls are shown to have the smallest optimal constant, among all admissible Euclidean domains, in Poincaré type boundary trace inequalities for functions of bounded variation with vanishing median or mean value.
We prove a sharp upper bound on convex domains, in terms of the diameter alone, of the best constant in a class of weighted Poincaré inequalities. The key point is the study of an optimal weighted Wirtinger inequality.
