Two-mode squeezed state quantisation and semiclassical portraits

Quantisation with Gaussian type states offers certain advantages over other quantisation schemes, in particular, they can serve to regularise formally discontinuous classical functions leading to well defined quantum operators. In this work we define a squeezed state quantisation in two dimensions using several families of squeezed states for one- and two-mode configurations. The completeness relations of the squeezed states are exploited in order to tackle the quantisation and semiclassical analysis of a constrained position dependent mass model with harmonic potential. The effects of the squeezing parameters on the resulting operators and phase space functions are studied, and configuration space trajectories are compared between the classical and semiclassical models.

Third-order ladder operators, generalized Okamoto and exceptional orthogonal polynomials

We extend and generalize the construction of Sturm-Liouville problems for a family of Hamiltonians constrained to fulfill a third-order shape-invariance condition and focusing on the "$-2x/3$" hierarchy of solutions to the fourth Painlevé transcendent. Such a construction has been previously addressed in the literature for some particular cases but we realize it here in the most general case. The corresponding potential in the Hamiltonian operator is a rationally extended oscillator defined in terms of the conventional Okamoto polynomials, from which we identify three different zero-modes constructed in terms of the generalized Okamoto polynomials. The third-order ladder operators of the system reveal that the complete set of eigenfunctions is decomposed as a union of three disjoint sequences of solutions, generated from a set of three-term recurrence relations. We also identify a link between the eigenfunctions of the Hamiltonian operator and a special family of exceptional Hermite polynomial.

Point transformations: exact solutions of the quantum time-dependent mass nonstationary oscillator

In this note we address the exact solutions of a time-dependent Hamiltonian composed by an oscillator-like interaction with both a frequency and a mass term that depend on time. The latter is achieved by constructing the appropriate point transformation such that it deforms the Schrödinger equation of a stationary oscillator into the one of the time-dependent model. Thus, the solutions of the latter can be seen as deformations of the well known solutions of the stationary oscillator, and thus an orthogonal set of solutions can be determined in a straightforward way. The latter is possible since the inner product structure is preserved by the point transformation. Also, any invariant operator of the stationary oscillator is transformed into an invariant of the time-dependent model. This property leads to a straightforward way to determine constants of motion without requiring to use ansatz.

Higher order nonclassicality from nonlinear coherent states for models with quadratic spectrum

Harmonic oscillator coherent states are well known to be the analogue of classical states. On the other hand, nonlinear and generalised coherent states may possess nonclassical properties. In this article, we study the nonclassical behaviour of nonlinear coherent states for generalised classes of models corresponding to the generalised ladder operators. A comparative analysis among them indicates that the models with quadratic spectrum are more nonclassical than the others. Our central result is further underpinned by the comparison of the degree of nonclassicality of squeezed states of the corresponding models.

Noncommutative $q$-photon added coherent states

We construct the photon added coherent states of a noncommutative harmonic oscillator associated to a $q$-deformed oscillator algebra. Various nonclassical properties of the corresponding system are explored, first, by studying two different types of higher order quadrature squeezing, namely the Hillery-type and the Hong--Mandel-type and, second, by testing the sub-Poissonian nature of photon statistics in higher order with the help of the correlation function and the Mandel parameter. By comparing our results with those of the usual harmonic oscillator, we notice that the quadratures and photon number distributions in noncommutative case are more squeezed for the same values of the parameters and, thus, the photon added coherent states of noncommutative harmonic oscillator may be more nonclassical in comparison to the ordinary harmonic oscillator.

Entangled squeezed states in noncommutative spaces with minimal length uncertainty relations

We provide an explicit construction of entangled states in a noncommutative space with nonclassical states, particularly with the squeezed states. Noncommutative systems are found to be more entangled than the usual quantum mechanical systems. The noncommutative parameter provides an additional degree of freedom in the construction by which one can raise the entanglement of the noncommutative systems to fairly higher values beyond the usual systems. Despite of having classical-like behaviour, coherent states in noncommutative space produce little amount of entanglement and therefore they possess slight nonclassicality as well, which are not true for the coherent states of ordinary harmonic oscillator.

General solutions of the supersymmetric $\mathbb{C}P^2$ sigma model and its generalisation to $\mathbb{C}P^{N-1}$

A new approach for the construction of finite action solutions of the supersymmetric $\mathbb{C}P^{N-1}$ sigma model is presented. We show that this approach produces more non-holomorphic solutions than those obtained in previous approaches. We study the $\mathbb{C}P^2$ model in detail and present its solutions in an explicit form. We also show how to generalise this construction to $N>3$.

Supersymmetric infinite wells and coherent states

Gaussian Klauder coherent states are discussed in the context of the infinite well quantum model, otherwise known as the particle in a box. A supersymmetric partner system is also presented, as well as a construction of coherent states in this new system. We show that these states can be chosen, in both systems to have many properties usually expected for coherent states. In particular, they yield highly localised wave packets for a short period of time, which evolve in a quasi-classical manner and which saturate approximately Heisenberg uncertainty relation. These studies are elaborated in one- and two-dimensional contexts. Finally, some relations are established between the gaussian states being mostly used here and the generalised coherent states, which are more standardly found in the literature.

Constant curvature surfaces of the supersymmetric $\mathbb{C}P^{N-1}$ sigma model

Constant curvature surfaces are constructed from the finite action solutions of the supersymmetric $\mathbb{C}P^{N-1}$ sigma model. It is shown that there is a unique holomorphic solution which leads to constant curvature surfaces: the generalized Veronese curve. We give a general criterion to construct non-holomorphic solutions of the model. We extend our analysis to general supersymmetric Grassmannian models.

Equivalent sets of coherent states of the 1D infinite square well and properties

We prove the equivalence (under some conditions) of two sets of coherent states built for the one-dimensional infinite square well: the so-called generalized and Gaussian Klauder coherent states. We then derive an approximate close expression approaching their probability density and wave function to explore their properties analytically. This process gives thereby explanation of the quasi-classical behavior of these states in terms of the main observables and the Heisenberg uncertainty product

Geometry of surfaces associated to grassmannian sigma models

We investigate the geometric characteristics of constant gaussian curvature surfaces obtained from solutions of the $G(m,n)$ sigma model. Most of these solutions are related to the Veronese sequence. We show that we can distinguish surfaces with the same gaussian curvature using additional quantities like the topological charge and the mean curvature. The cases of $G(1,n)=\mathbb{C}P^{n-1}$ and $G(2,n)$ are used to illustrate these characteristics.

Beam splitter and entanglement created with the squeezed coherent states of the Morse potential

The Morse potential is relatively closed to the harmonic oscillator quantum system. Thus, following the idea used for the latter, we study the possibility of creating entanglement using squeezed coherent states of the Morse potential as an input field of a beam splitter. We measure the entanglement with the linear entropy for two types of such states and we study the dependence with the coherence and squeezing parameters. The new results are linked with observations made on probability densities and uncertainty relations of those states. The dynamical evolution of the linear entropy is also explored.

Constant curvature solutions of Grassmannian sigma models: (2) Non-holomorphic solutions

We generalize here our general procedure for constructing constant curvature maps of 2-spheres into Grassmannian manifolds G(m,n) this time concentrating our attention on maps which are non-holomorphic. We present some expressions describing these solutions in the general case and discuss how to use these results to construct solutions of constant curvature. We also discuss possible values of this constant curvature.

Soliton and similarity solutions of N=2,4 supersymmetric equations

We produce soliton and similarity solutions of supersymmetric extensions of Burgers, Korteweg-de Vries and modified KdV equations. We give new representations of the $τ$-functions in Hirota bilinear formalism. Chiral superfields are used to obtain such solutions. We also introduce new solitons called virtual solitons whose nonlinear interactions produce no phase shifts.

Generalized Heisenberg Algebras, SUSYQM and Degeneracies: Infinite Well and Morse Potential

We consider classical and quantum one and two-dimensional systems with ladder operators that satisfy generalized Heisenberg algebras. In the classical case, this construction is related to the existence of closed trajectories. In particular, we apply these results to the infinite well and Morse potentials. We discuss how the degeneracies of the permutation symmetry of quantum two-dimensional systems can be explained using products of ladder operators. These products satisfy interesting commutation relations. The two-dimensional Morse quantum system is also related to a generalized two-dimensional Morse supersymmetric model. Arithmetical or accidental degeneracies of such system are shown to be associated to additional supersymmetry.
