Bounded weight modules for basic classical Lie superalgebras at infinity

We classify simple bounded weight modules over the complex simple Lie superalgebras $\mathfrak{sl}(\infty |\infty)$ and $\mathfrak{osp} (m | 2n)$, when at least one of $m$ and $n$ equals $\infty$. For $\mathfrak{osp} (m | 2n)$ such modules are of spinor-oscillator type, i.e., they combine into one the known classes of spinor $\mathfrak{o} (m)$-modules and oscillator-type $\mathfrak{sp} (2n)$-modules. In addition, we characterize the category of bounded weight modules over $\mathfrak{osp} (m | 2n)$ (under the assumption $\dim \, \mathfrak{osp} (m | 2n) = \infty$) by reducing its study to already known categories of representations of $\mathfrak{sp} (2n)$, where $n$ possibly equals $\infty$. When classifying simple bounded weight $\mathfrak{sl}(\infty |\infty)$-modules, we prove that every such module is integrable over one of the two infinite-dimensional ideals of the Lie algebra $\mathfrak{sl}(\infty |\infty)_{\bar{0}}$. We finish the paper by establishing some first facts about the category of bounded weight $\mathfrak{sl} (\infty |\infty)$-modules.

Deligne categories and the limit of categories $Rep(GL(m|n))$

For each integer $t$ a tensor category $V_t$ is constructed, such that exact tensor functors $V_t \longrightarrow C$ classify dualizable $t$-dimensional objects in $C$ not annihilated by any Schur functor. This means that $V_t$ is the "abelian envelope" of the Deligne category $Rep(GL_t)$. Any tensor functor $Rep(GL_t)\longrightarrow C$ is proved to factor either through $V_t$ or through one of the classical categories $Rep(GL(m|n))$ with $m-n=t$. The universal property of $V_t$ implies that it is equivalent to the categories $Rep_{Rep(GL_{t_1})\otimes Rep(GL_{t_2})}(GL(X),ε)$, ($t=t_1+t_2$, $t_1$ not integer) suggested by Deligne as candidates for the role of abelian envelope.

Capelli operators for spherical superharmonics and the Dougall-Ramanujan identity

Let $(V,ω)$ be an orthosympectic $\mathbb Z_2$-graded vector space and let $\mathfrak g:=\mathfrak{gosp}(V,ω)$ denote the Lie superalgebra of similitudes of $(V,ω)$. When the space $\mathscr P(V)$ of superpolynomials on $V$ is \emph{not} a completely reducible $\mathfrak g$-module, we construct a natural basis $D_λ$ of Capelli operators for the algebra of $\mathfrak g$-invariant superpolynomial superdifferential operators on $V$, where the index set $\mathcal P$ is the set of integer partitions of length at most two. We compute the action of the operators $D_λ$ on maximal indecomposable components of $\mathscr P(V)$ explicitly, in terms of Knop-Sahi interpolation polynomials. Our results show that, unlike the cases where $\mathscr P(V)$ is completely reducible, the eigenvalues of a subfamily of the $D_λ$ are \emph{not} given by specializing the Knop-Sahi polynomials. Rather, the formulas for these eigenvalues involve suitably regularized forms of these polynomials. In addition, we demonstrate a close relationship between our eigenvalue formulas for this subfamily of Capelli operators and the Dougall-Ramanujan hypergeometric identity. We also transcend our results on the eigenvalues of Capelli operators to the Deligne category $\mathsf{Rep}(O_t)$. More precisely, we define categorical Capelli operators $\{\mathbf D_{t,λ}\}_{λ\in\mathcal P}^{}$ that induce morphisms of indecomposable components of symmetric powers of $\mathsf V_t$, where $\mathsf V_t$ is the generating object of $\mathsf{Rep}(O_t)$. We obtain formulas for the eigenvalue polynomials associated to the $\left\{\mathbf D_{t,λ}\right\}_{λ\in\mathcal P}$ that are analogous to our results for the operators $\{D_λ\}_{λ\in\mathcal P}^{}$.

Simple weight modules with finite weight multiplicities over the Lie algebra of polynomial vector fields

Let ${\mathcal W}_n$ be the Lie algebra of polynomial vector fields. We classify simple weight ${\mathcal W}_n$-modules $M$ with finite weight multiplicities. We prove that every such nontrivial module $M$ is either a tensor module or the unique simple submodule in a tensor module associated with the de Rham complex on $\mathbb C^n$.

Gelfand-Tsetlin modules for gl(n,m)

We address the problem of classifying of irreducible Gelfand-Tsetlin modules for gl(m|n) and show that it reduces to the classification of Gelfand-Tsetlin modules for the even part. We also give an explicit tableaux construction and the irreducibility criterion for the class of quasi typical and quasi covariant Gelfand-Tsetlin modules which includes all essentially typical and covariant tensor finite dimensional modules. In the quasi typical case new irreducible representations are infinite dimensional gl(m|n)-modules which are isomorphic to the parabolically induced (Kac) modules.

Duflo-Serganova functor and superdimension formula for the periplectic Lie superalgebra

In this paper, we study the representations of the periplectic Lie superalgebra using the Duflo-Serganova functor. Given a simple $\mathfrak{p}(n)$-module $L$ and a certain element $x\in \mathfrak{p}(n)$ of rank $1$, we give an explicit description of the composition factors of the $\mathfrak{p}(n-1)$-module $DS_x(L)$, which is defined as the homology of the complex $$ΠM \xrightarrow{x} M \xrightarrow{x} ΠM.$$ In particular, we show that this $\mathfrak{p}(n-1)$-module is multiplicity-free. We then use this result to give a simple explicit combinatorial formula for the superdimension of a simple integrable finite-dimensional $\mathfrak{p}(n)$-module, based on its highest weight. In particular, this reproves the Kac-Wakimoto conjecture for $\mathfrak{p}(n)$, which was proved earlier by the authors.

Snowflake modules and Enright functor for Kac-Moody superalgebras

We introduce a class of modules over Kac-Moody superalgebras; we call these modules snowflake. These modules are characterized by invariance property of their characters with respect to a certain subgroup of the Weyl group. Examples of snowflake modules appear as admissible modules in representation theory of affine vertex algebras and in classification of bounded weight modules. Using these modules we prove Arakawa's Theorem for the Lie superalgebra osp(1|2n).

Clifford and Weyl superalgebras and spinor representations

We construct a family of twisted generalized Weyl algebras which includes Weyl-Clifford superalgebras and quotients of the enveloping algebras of $\mathfrak{gl}(m|n)$ and $\mathfrak{osp}(m|2n)$. We give a condition for when a canonical representation by differential operators is faithful. Lastly, we give a description of the graded support of these algebras in terms of pattern-avoiding vector compositions.

On Categories of Admissible $\big(\mathfrak{g},\mathrm{sl}(2)\big)$-Modules

Let $\mathfrak{g}$ be a complex finite-dimensional semisimple Lie algebra and $\mathfrak{k}$ be any $\mathrm{sl}(2)$-subalgebra of $\mathfrak{g}$. In this paper we prove an earlier conjecture by Penkov and Zuckerman claiming that the first derived Zuckerman functor provides an equivalence between a truncation of a thick parabolic category $\mathcal{O}$ for $\mathfrak{g}$ and a truncation of the category of admissible $(\mathfrak{g}, \mathfrak{k})-$modules. This latter truncated category consists of admissible $(\mathfrak{g}, \mathfrak{k})-$modules with sufficiently large minimal $\mathfrak{k}$-type. We construct an explicit functor inverse to the Zuckerman functor in this setting. As a corollary we obtain an estimate for the global injective dimension of the inductive completion of the truncated category of admissible $(\mathfrak{g}, \mathfrak{k})-$modules.

Tensor representations of $\mathfrak q(\infty)$

We introduce a symmetric monoidal category of modules over the direct limit queer superalgebra $\q (\infty)$. The category can be defined in two equivalent ways with the aid of the large annihilator condition. Tensor products of copies of the natural and the conatural representations are injective objects in this category. We obtain the socle filtrations and formulas for the tensor products of the indecoposable injectives. In addition, it is proven that the category is Koszul self-dual.

On the Tits-Kantor-Koecher construction of unital Jordan bimodules

In this paper we explore relationship between representations of a Jordan algebra $\J$ and the Lie algebra $\g$ obtained from $\J$ by the Tits-Kantor-Koecher construction. More precisely, we construct two adjoint functors $Lie :\JJ\to \ggm$ and $Jor:\ggm\to\JJ$, where $\JJ$ is the category of unital $\J$-bimodules and $\ggm$ is the category of $\g$-modules admitting a short grading. Using these functors we classify $\J$ such that its semisimple part is of Clifford type and the category $\JJ$ is tame.

Representation theory of Mackey Lie algebras and their dense subalgebras

In this article we review the main results of the earlier papers [I. Penkov, K. Styrkas, Tensor representations of infinite-dimensional root-reductive Lie algebras, in Developments and Trends in Infinite-Dimensional Lie Theory, Progress in Mathematics 288, Birkhäuser, 2011, pp. 127-150], [I. Penkov, V. Serganova, Categories of integrable $\mathfrak{sl}(\infty)$-, $\mathfrak{o}(\infty)$-, $\mathfrak{sp}(\infty)$-modules, in "Representation Theory and Mathematical Physics", Contemporary Mathematics 557 (2011), pp. 335-357] and [E. Dan-Cohen, I. Penkov, V. Serganova, A Koszul category of representations of finitary Lie algebras, preprint 2011, arXiv:1105.3407], and establish related new results in considerably greater generality. We introduce a class of infinite-dimensional Lie algebras $\mathfrak{g}^{M}$, which we call Mackey Lie algebras, and define monoidal categories $\mathbb{T}_{\mathfrak{g}^M}$ of tensor $\mathfrak{g}^M-$modules. We also consider dense subalgebras $\mathfrak{a} \subset \mathfrak{g}^M$ and corresponding categories $\mathbb{T}_\mathfrak{a}$. The locally finite Lie algebras $\mathfrak{sl}(V,W), \mathfrak{o}(V), \mathfrak{sp}(V)$ are dense subalgebras of respective Mackey Lie algebras. Our main result is that if $\mathfrak{g}^M$ is a Mackey Lie algebra and $\mathfrak{a} \subset \mathfrak{g}^M$ is a dense subalgebra, then the monoidal category $\mathbb{T}_\mathfrak{a}$ is equivalent to $\mathbb{T}_{\mathfrak{sl}(\infty)}$ or $\mathbb{T}_{\mathfrak{o}(\infty)}$; the latter monoidal categories have been studied in detail in [E. Dan-Cohen, I. Penkov, V. Serganova, A Koszul category of representations of finitary Lie algebras, preprint 2011, arXiv:1105.3407]. A possible choice of $\mathfrak{a}$ is the well-known Lie algebra of generalized Jacobi matrices.

Twisted generalized Weyl algebras and primitive quotients of enveloping algebras

To each multiquiver $Γ$ we attach a solution to the consistency equations associated to twisted generalized Weyl (TGW) algebras. This generalizes several previously obtained solutions in the literature. We show that the corresponding algebras $\mathcal{A}(Γ)$ carry a canonical representation by differential operators and that $\mathcal{A}(Γ)$ is universal among all TGW algebras with such a representation. We also find explicit conditions in terms of $Γ$ for when this representation is faithful or locally surjective. By forgetting some of the structure of $Γ$ one obtains a Dynkin diagram, $D(Γ)$. We show that the generalized Cartan matrix of $\mathcal{A}(Γ)$ coincides with the one corresponding to $D(Γ)$ and that $\mathcal{A}(Γ)$ contains graded homomorphic images of the enveloping algebra of the positive and negative part of the corresponding Kac-Moody algebra. Finally, we show that a primitive quotient $U/J$ of the enveloping algebra of a finite-dimensional simple Lie algebra over an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero is graded isomorphic to a TGW algebra if and only if $J$ is the annihilator of a completely pointed (multiplicity-free) simple weight module. The infinite-dimensional primitive quotients in types $A$ and $C$ are closely related to $\mathcal{A}(Γ)$ for specific $Γ$. We also prove one result in the affine case.

A categorification of the boson-fermion correspondence via representation theory of $sl(\infty)

In recent years different aspects of categorification of the boson-fermion correspondence have been studied. In this paper we propose a categorification of the boson-fermion correspondence based on the category of tensor modules of the Lie algebra $sl(\infty)$ of finitary infinite matrices. By $\mathbb T^+$ we denote the category of "polynomial" tensor $sl(\infty)$-modules. There is a natural "creation" functor $\mathcal T_N: \mathbb T^+\to \mathbb T^+$, $M\mapsto N\otimes M,\quad M,N\in \mathbb T^+$. The key idea of the paper is to employ the entire category $\mathbb T$ of tensor $sl(\infty)$-modules in order to define the "annihilation" functor $\mathcal D_N: \mathbb T^+\to \mathbb T^+$ corresponding to $\mathcal T_N$. We show that the relations allowing to express fermions via bosons arise from relations in the cohomology of complexes of linear endofunctors on $\mathbb T^+$.

On Kostant's theorem for the Lie superalgebra Q(n)

In this paper we study finite W-algebras for basic classical superalgebras and Q(n) associated to the regular even nilpotent coadjoint orbits. We prove that this algebra satisfies the Amitsur-Levitzki identity and therefore all its irreducible representations are finite-dimensional. In the case of Q(n) we give an explicit description of the W-algebra in terms of generators and relation and realize it as a quotient of the super-Yangian of Q(1).

On weight modules of algebras of twisted differential operators on the projective space

We classify blocks of categories of weight and generalized weight modules of algebras of twisted differential operators on P^n. Necessary and sufficient conditions for these blocks to be tame and proofs that some of the blocks are Koszul are provided. We also establish equivalences of categories between these blocks and categories of bounded and generalized bounded weight sl(n+1)-modules in the cases of nonintegral and singular central character.

Bernstein-Gel'fand-Gel'fand reciprocity and indecomposable projective modules for classical algebraic supergroups

We prove a BGG type reciprocity law for the category of finite dimensional modules over algebraic supergroups satisfying certain conditions. The equivalent of a standard module in this case is a virtual module called Euler characteristic due to its geometric interpretation. In the orthosymplectic case, we also describe indecomposable projective modules in terms of those Euler characteristics.

Categories of integrable $sl(\infty)$-, $o(\infty)$-, $sp(\infty)$-modules

We investigate several categories of integrable $sl(\infty)$-, $o(\infty)$-, $sp(\infty)$-modules. In particular, we prove that the category of integrable $sl(\infty)$-, $o(\infty)$-, $sp(\infty)$-modules with finite-dimensional weight spaces is semisimple. The most interesting category we study is the category $\widetilde{\mathrm{Tens}}_{\mathfrak{g}}$ of tensor modules. Its objects $M$ are defined as integrable modules of finite Loewy length such that the algebraic dual $M^*$ is also integrable and of finite Loewy length. We prove that the simple objects of $\widetilde{\mathrm{Tens}}_{\mathfrak{g}}$ are precisely the simple tensor modules, i.e. the simple subquotients of the tensor algebra of the direct sum of the natural and conatural representations. We also study injectives in $\widetilde{\mathrm{Tens}}_{\mathfrak{g}}$ and compute the Ext$^1$'s between simple modules. Finally, we characterize a certain subcategory $\mathrm{Tens}_{\mathfrak{g}}$ of $\widetilde{\mathrm{Tens}}_{\mathfrak{g}}$ as the unique minimal abelian full subcategory of the category of integrable modules which contains a non-trivial module and is closed under tensor product and algebraic dualization.
