Realizations of the formal double Eisenstein space

We introduce the formal double Eisenstein space $\mathcal{E}_k$, which is a generalization of the formal double zeta space $\mathcal{D}_k$ of Gangl-Kaneko-Zagier, and prove analogues of the sum formula and parity result for formal double Eisenstein series. We show that $\mathbb Q$-linear maps $\mathcal{E}_k\rightarrow A$, for some $\mathbb Q$-algebra $A$, can be constructed from formal Laurent series (with coefficients in $A$) that satisfy the Fay identity. As the prototypical example, we define the Kronecker realization $ρ^{\mathfrak{K}}: \mathcal{E}_k\rightarrow \mathbb Q[[q]]$, which lifts Gangl-Kaneko-Zagier's Bernoulli realization $ρ^B: \mathcal{D}_k\rightarrow \mathbb Q$, and whose image consists of quasimodular forms for the full modular group. As an application to the theory of modular forms, we obtain a purely combinatorial proof of Ramanujan's differential equations for classical Eisenstein series.

The singularities of the invariant metric on the line bundle of Jacobi forms

A theorem by Mumford implies that every automorphic line bundle on a pure open Shimura variety, equipped with an invariant smooth metric, can be uniquely extended as a line bundle on a toroidal compactification of the variety, in such a way that the metric acquires only logarithmic singularities. This result is the key of being able to compute arithmetic intersection numbers from these line bundles. Hence it is natural to ask whether Mumford's result remains valid for line bundles on mixed Shimura varieties. In this paper we examine the simplest case, namely the sheaf of Jacobi forms on the universal elliptic curve. We show that Mumford's result cannot be extended directly to this case and that a new interesting kind of singularities appears. By using the theory of b-divisors, we show that an analogue of Mumford's extension theorem can be obtained. We also show that this extension is meaningful because it satisfies Chern-Weil theory and a Hilbert-Samuel type of formula.

Lower bounds on the arithmetic self-intersection number of the relative dualizing sheaf on arithmetic surfaces

We give an explicitly computable lower bound for the arithmetic self-intersection number of the dualizing sheaf on a large class of arithmetic surfaces. If some technical conditions are satisfied, then this lower bound is positive. In particular, these technical conditions are always satisfied for minimal arithmetic surfaces with simple multiplicities and at least one reducible fiber, but we have also used our techniques to obtain lower bounds for some arithmetic surfaces with non-reduced fibers.

A height inequality for rational points on elliptic curves implied by the abc-conjecture

In this short note we show that the uniform abc-conjecture over number fields puts strong restrictions on the coordinates of rational points on elliptic curves. For the proof we use a variant of the uniform abc-conjecture over number fields formulated by Mochizuki. As an application, we generalize a result of Silverman on elliptic non-Wieferich primes.
