Relation between generalized and ordinary cluster algebras

Recently, Ramos and Whiting showed that any generalized cluster algebra of geometric type is isomorphic to a quotient of a subalgebra of a certain cluster algebra. Based on their idea and method, we show that the same property holds for any generalized cluster algebra with $y$-variables in an arbitrary semifield. We also present the relations between the $C$-matrices, the $G$-matrices, and the $F$-polynomials of a generalized cluster pattern and those of the corresponding composite cluster pattern.

Duality Cascades and Affine Weyl Groups

Brane configurations in a circle allow subsequent applications of the Hanany-Witten transitions, which are known as duality cascades. By studying the process of duality cascades corresponding to quantum curves with symmetries of Weyl groups, we find a hidden structure of affine Weyl groups. Namely, the fundamental domain of duality cascades consisting of all the final destinations is characterized by the affine Weyl chamber and the duality cascades are realized as translations of the affine Weyl group, where the overall rank in the brane configuration associates to the grading operator of the affine algebra. The structure of the affine Weyl group guarantees the finiteness of the processes and the uniqueness of the endpoint of the duality cascades. In addition to the original duality cascades, we can generalize to the cases with Fayet-Iliopoulos parameters. There we can utilize the Weyl group to analyze the fundamental domain similarly and find that the fundamental domain continues to be the affine Weyl chamber. We further interpret the Weyl group we impose as a "half" of the Hanany-Witten transition.

Structure of seeds in generalized cluster algebras

We study generalized cluster algebras introduced by Chekhov and Shapiro. When the coefficients satisfy the normalization and quasi-reciprocity conditions, one can naturally extend the structure theory of seeds in the ordinary cluster algebras by Fomin and Zelevinsky to generalized cluster algebras. As the main result, we obtain formulas expressing cluster variables and coefficients in terms of c-vectors, g-vectors, and F-polynomials.

Diagrammatic description of c-vectors and d-vectors of cluster algebras of finite type

We provide an explicit Dynkin diagrammatic description of the c-vectors and the d-vectors (the denominator vectors) of any cluster algebra of finite type with principal coefficients and any initial exchange matrix. We use the surface realization of cluster algebras for types A_n and D_n, then we apply the folding method to D_{n+1} and A_{2n-1} to obtain types B_n and C_n. Exceptional types are done by direct inspection with the help of a computer algebra software. We also propose a conjecture on the root property of c-vectors for a general cluster algebra.

Exact WKB analysis and cluster algebras

We develop the mutation theory in the exact WKB analysis using the framework of cluster algebras. Under a continuous deformation of the potential of the Schrödinger equation on a compact Riemann surface, the Stokes graph may change the topology. We call this phenomenon the mutation of Stokes graphs. Along the mutation of Stokes graphs, the Voros symbols, which are monodromy data of the equation, also mutate due to the Stokes phenomenon. We show that the Voros symbols mutate as variables of a cluster algebra with surface realization. As an application, we obtain the identities of Stokes automorphisms associated with periods of cluster algebras. The paper also includes an extensive introduction of the exact WKB analysis and the surface realization of cluster algebras for nonexperts.

Fusion, mass, and representation theory of the Yangian algebra

Based on the formulation of Drinfel'd, Chari, and Pressley, a technique to analyze the structure of tensor products of the Yangian algebra representations is presented. We then apply the results to the $S$-matrix theory of the $G\otimes G$-invariant nonlinear $σ$-model ($G$-principal chiral model) by Ogievetsky, Reshetikhin, and Wiegmann. We show how the physical data such as mass formula, fusion angle, and the spins of integrals of motion can be extracted from the Yangian highest weight representations.

T-systems and Y-systems in integrable systems

The T and Y-systems are ubiquitous structures in classical and quantum integrable systems. They are difference equations having a variety of aspects related to commuting transfer matrices in solvable lattice models, q-characters of Kirillov-Reshetikhin modules of quantum affine algebras, cluster algebras with coefficients, periodicity conjectures of Zamolodchikov and others, dilogarithm identities in conformal field theory, difference analogue of L-operators in KP hierarchy, Stokes phenomena in 1d Schrödinger problem, AdS/CFT correspondence, Toda field equations on discrete space-time, Laplace sequence in discrete geometry, Fermionic character formulas and combinatorial completeness of Bethe ansatz, Q-system and ideal gas with exclusion statistics, analytic and thermodynamic Bethe ansätze, quantum transfer matrix method and so forth. This review article is a collection of short reviews on these topics which can be read more or less independently.

Note on dilogarithm identities from nilpotent double affine Hecke algebras

Recently Cherednik and Feigin obtained several Rogers-Ramanujan type identities via the nilpotent double affine Hecke algebras (Nil-DAHA). These identities further led to a series of dilogarithm identities, some of which are known, while some are left conjectural. We confirm and explain all of them by showing the connection with Y-systems associated with (untwisted and twisted) quantum affine Kac-Moody algebras.

Classical and Quantum Dilogarithm Identities

Using the quantum cluster algebra formalism of Fock and Goncharov, we present several forms of quantum dilogarithm identities associated with periodicities in quantum cluster algebras, namely, the tropical, universal, and local forms. We then demonstrate how classical dilogarithm identities naturally emerge from quantum dilogarithm identities in local form in the semiclassical limit by applying the saddle point method.

Difference equations and cluster algebras I: Poisson bracket for integrable difference equations

We introduce the cluster algebraic formulation of the integrable difference equations, the discrete Lotka-Volterra equation and the discrete Liouville equation, from the view point of the general T-system and Y-system. We also study the Poisson structure for the cluster algebra, and give the associated Poisson bracket for the two difference equations.

Periodicities in cluster algebras and dilogarithm identities

We consider two kinds of periodicities of mutations in cluster algebras. For any sequence of mutations under which exchange matrices are periodic, we define the associated T- and Y-systems. When the sequence is `regular', they are particularly natural generalizations of the known `classic' T- and Y-systems. Furthermore, for any sequence of mutations under which seeds are periodic, we formulate the associated dilogarithm identity. We prove the identities when exchange matrices are skew symmetric.

Dilogarithm identities for conformal field theories and cluster algebras: simply laced case

The dilogarithm identities for the central charges of conformal field theories of simply laced type were conjectured by Bazhanov, Kirillov, and Reshetikhin. Their functional generalizations were conjectured by Gliozzi and Tateo. They have been partly proved by various authors. We prove these identities in full generality for any pair of Dynkin diagrams of simply laced type based on the cluster algebra formulation of the Y-systems.

Dilogarithm Identities for Sine-Gordon and Reduced Sine-Gordon Y-Systems

We study the family of Y-systems and T-systems associated with the sine-Gordon models and the reduced sine-Gordon models for the parameter of continued fractions with two terms. We formulate these systems by cluster algebras, which turn out to be of finite type, and prove their periodicities and the associated dilogarithm identities which have been conjectured earlier. In particular, this provides new examples of periodicities of seeds.

Periodicities of T and Y-systems, dilogarithm identities, and cluster algebras I: Type B_r

We prove the periodicities of the restricted T and Y-systems associated with the quantum affine algebra of type B_r at any level. We also prove the dilogarithm identities for the Y-systems of type B_r at any level. Our proof is based on the tropical Y-systems and the categorification of the cluster algebra associated with any skew-symmetric matrix by Plamondon. Using this new method, we also give an alternative and simplified proof of the periodicities of the T and Y-systems associated with pairs of simply laced Dynkin diagrams.

We prove the periodicities of the restricted T and Y-systems associated with the quantum affine algebra of type C_r, F_4, and G_2 at any level. We also prove the dilogarithm identities for these Y-systems at any level. Our proof is based on the tropical Y-systems and the categorification of the cluster algebra associated with any skew-symmetric matrix by Plamondon.

Periodicities of T-systems and Y-systems

The unrestricted T-system is a family of relations in the Grothendieck ring of the category of the finite-dimensional modules of the Yangian or the quantum affine algebra associated with a complex simple Lie algebra. The unrestricted T-system admits a reduction called the restricted T-system. In this paper we formulate the periodicity conjecture for the restricted T-systems, which is the counterpart of the known and partially proved periodicity conjecture for the restricted Y-systems. Then, we partially prove the conjecture by various methods: the cluster algebra and cluster category method for the simply laced case, the determinant method for types A and C, and the direct method for types A, D, and B (level 2).

T-systems and Y-systems for quantum affinizations of quantum Kac-Moody algebras

The T-systems and Y-systems are classes of algebraic relations originally associated with quantum affine algebras and Yangians. Recently the T-systems were generalized to quantum affinizations of a wide class of quantum Kac-Moody algebras by Hernandez. In this note we introduce the corresponding Y-systems and establish a relation between T and Y-systems. We also introduce the T and Y-systems associated with a class of cluster algebras, which include the former T and Y-systems of simply laced type as special cases.

On Frenkel-Mukhin algorithm for q-character of quantum affine algebras

The q-character is a strong tool to study finite-dimensional representations of quantum affine algebras. However, the explicit formula of the q-character of a given representation has not been known so far. Frenkel and Mukhin proposed the iterative algorithm which generates the q-character of a given irreducible representation starting from its highest weight monomial. The algorithm is known to work for various classes of representations. In this note, however, we give an example in which the algorithm fails to generate the q-character.

Paths and tableaux descriptions of Jacobi-Trudi determinant associated with quantum affine algebra of type D_n

We study the Jacobi-Trudi-type determinant which is conjectured to be the q-character of a certain, in many cases irreducible, finite-dimensional representation of the quantum affine algebra of type D_n. Unlike the A_n and B_n cases, a simple application of the Gessel-Viennot path method does not yield a positive sum expression of the determinant over a set of tuples of paths. However, applying an additional involution and a deformation of paths, we obtain a positive sum expression over a set of tuples of paths, which is naturally translated into the one over a set of tableaux on a skew diagram.

Paths, tableaux, and q-characters of quantum affine algebras: the C_n case

For the quantum affine algebra $U_q(\hat{\mathfrak{g}})$ with $\mathfrak{g}$ of classical type, let $χ_{λ/μ,a}$ be the Jacobi-Trudi type determinant for the generating series of the (supposed) $q$-characters of the fundamental representations. We conjecture that $χ_{λ/μ,a}$ is the $q$-character of a certain finite dimensional representation of $U_q(\hat{\mathfrak{g}})$. We study the tableaux description of $χ_{λ/μ,a}$ using the path method due to Gessel-Viennot. It immediately reproduces the tableau rule by Bazhanov-Reshetikhin for $A_n$ and by Kuniba-Ohta-Suzuki for $B_n$. For $C_n$, we derive the explicit tableau rule for skew diagrams $λ/μ$ of three rows and of two columns, and give the implicit tableau rule in terms of paths for general $λ/μ$.

Skew Young diagram method in spectral decomposition of integrable lattice models II: Higher levels

The spectral decomposition of the path space of the vertex model associated to the level $l$ representation of the quantized affine algebra $U_q(\hat{sl}_n)$ is studied. The spectrum and its degeneracy are parametrized by skew Young diagrams and what we call nonmovable tableaux on them, respectively. As a result we obtain the characters for the degeneracy of the spectrum in terms of an alternating sum of skew Schur functions. Also studied are new combinatorial descriptions (spectral decomposition) of the Kostka numbers and the Kostka--Foulkes polynomials. As an application we give a new proof of Nakayashiki--Yamada's theorem about the branching functions of the level $l$ basic representation $lΛ_k$ of $\hat{sl}_n$ and a generalization of the theorem.

Functional Relations in Solvable Lattice Models II

Reported are two applications of the functional relations ($T$-system) among a commuting family of row-to-row transfer matrices proposed in the previous paper Part I. For a general simple Lie algebra $X_r$, we determine the correlation lengths of the associated massive vertex models in the anti-ferroelectric regime and central charges of the RSOS models in two critical regimes. The results reproduce known values or even generalize them, demonstrating the efficiency of the $T$-system.
