Asymptotic expansion of the nonlocal heat content

Let $\mathbf{X}=\{X_t\}_{t\geq 0}$ be a Lévy process in $\mathbb{R}^d$ and $Ω$ be an open subset of $\mathbb{R}^d$ with finite Lebesgue measure. In this article we consider the quantity $H(t)=\int_Ω \mathbb{P}^x (X_t\inΩ^c) \, \mathrm{d}x$ which is called the heat content. We study its asymptotic expansion for isotropic $α$-stable Lévy processes and more general Lévy processes, under mild assumptions on the characteristic exponent.

Asymptotics of non-local perimeters

We introduce a notion of non-local perimeter which is defined through an arbitrary positive Borel measure on $\mathbb{R}^d$ which integrates the function $1\wedge |x|$. Such definition of non-local perimeter encompasses a wide range of perimeters which have been already studied in the literature, including fractional perimeters and anisotropic fractional perimeters. The main part of the article is devoted to the study of the asymptotic behaviour of non-local perimeters. As direct applications we recover well-known convergence results for fractional perimeters and anisotropic fractional perimeters

Heat kernels of non-local Schrödinger operators with Kato potentials

We study heat kernels of Schrödinger operators whose kinetic terms are non-local operators built for sufficiently regular symmetric Lévy measures with radial decreasing profiles and potentials belong to Kato class. Our setting is fairly general and novel -- it allows us to treat both heavy- and light-tailed Lévy measures in a joint framework. We establish a certain relative-Kato bound for the corresponding semigroups and potentials. This enables us to apply a general perturbation technique to construct the heat kernels and give sharp estimates of them. Assuming that the Lévy measure and the potential satisfy a little stronger conditions, we additionally obtain the regularity of the heat kernels. Finally, we discuss the applications to the smoothing properties of the corresponding semigroups. Our results cover many important examples of non-local operators, including fractional and quasi-relativistic Schrödinger operators.

Estimates of heat kernels of non-symmetric Lévy processes

We investigate densities of vaguely continuous convolution semigroups of probability measures on $\mathbb{R}^d$. First, we provide results that give upper estimates in a situation when the corresponding jump measure is allowed to be highly non-symmetric. Further, we prove upper estimates of the density and its derivatives if the jump measure compares with an isotropic unimodal measure and the characteristic exponent satisfies certain scaling condition. Lower estimates are discussed in view of a recent development in that direction, and in such a way to complement upper estimates. We apply all those results to establish precise estimates of densities of non-symmetric Lévy processes.

Heat content for convolution semigroups

Let $\mathbf{X}=\{X_t\}_{t\geq 0}$ be a Lévy process in $\mathbb{R}^d$ and $Ω$ be an open subset of $\mathbb{R}^d$ with finite Lebesgue measure. In this article we consider the quantity $H (t) = \int_Ω\mathbb{P}_{x} (X_t\in Ω^c) dx$ which is called the heat content. We study its asymptotic behaviour as $t$ goes to zero for isotropic Lévy processes under some mild assumptions on the characteristic exponent. We also treat the class of Lévy processes with finite variation in full generality.

Hitting times of points and intervals for symmetric Lévy processes

For one-dimensional symmetric Lévy processes, which hit every point with positive probability, we give sharp bounds for the tail function of the first hitting time of B which is either a single point or an interval. The estimates are obtained under some weak type scaling assumptions on the characteristic exponent of the process. We apply these results to prove optimal estimates of the transition density of the process killed after hitting B.

On Harnack inequality and Hölder regularity for isotropic unimodal Lévy processes

We prove the scale invariant Harnack inequality and regularity properties for harmonic functions with respect to an isotropic unimodal Lévy process with the characteristic exponent $ψ$ satisfying some scaling condition. We show sharp estimates of the potential measure and capacity of balls, and further, under the assumption of that $ψ$ satisfies the lower scaling condition, sharp estimates of the potential kernel of the underlying process. This allow us to establish the Krylov-Safonov type estimate, which is the key ingredient in the approach of Bass and Levin, that we follow.

Potential theory of one-dimensional geometric stable processes

The purpose of this paper is to find optimal estimates for the Green function and the Poisson kernel for a half-line and intervals of the geometric stable process with parameter $α\in(0,2]$. This process has an infinitesimal generator of the form $-\log(1+(-Δ)^{α/2})$. As an application we prove the scale invariant Harnack inequality as well as the boundary Harnack principle.

Two-sided optimal bounds for Green function of half-spaces for relativistic $α$-stable process

The purpose of this paper is to find optimal estimates for the Green function of a half-space of {\it the relativistic $α$-stable process} with parameter $m$ on $\Rd$ space. This process has an infinitesimal generator of the form $mI-(m^{2/α}I-Δ)^{α/2},$ where $0<α<2$, $m>0$, and reduces to the isotropic $α$-stable process for $m=0$. Its potential theory for open bounded sets has been well developed throughout the recent years however almost nothing was known about the behaviour of the process on unbounded sets. The present paper is intended to fill this gap and we provide two-sided sharp estimates for the Green function for a half-space. As a byproduct we obtain some improvements of the estimates known for bounded sets specially for balls. The advantage of these estimates is a clarification of the relationship between the diameter of the ball and the parameter $m$ of the process. The main result states that the Green function is comparable with the Green function for the Brownian motion if the points are away from the boundary of a half-space and their distance is greater than one. On the other hand for the remaining points the Green function is somehow related the Green function for the isotropic $α$-stable process. For example, for $d\ge3$, it is comparable with the Green function for the isotropic $α$-stable process, provided that the points are close enough.

Estimates of Green Function for some perturbations of fractional Laplacian

Suppose that Y(t) is a d-dimensional Levy symmetric process for which its Levy measure differs from the Levy measure of the isotropic alpha-stable process (0<alpha<2) by a finite signed measure. For a bounded Lipschitz set D we compare the Green functions of the process Y and its stable counterpart. We prove a few comparability results either one sided or two sided. Assuming an additional condition about the difference of the densities of the Levy measures, namely that it is of order of |x|^{-d+varrho} as x near 0, where varrho>0, we prove that the Green functions are comparable, provided D is connected. These results apply for example to alpha-stable relativistic process. This process was studied in recent years. In the paper we also considered one dimensional case for alpha<= 1 and proved that the Green functions for an open and bounded interval are comparable.
