The Hille-Yosida generation theorem for almost surely bounded $C_{0}$--semigroups of continuous module homomorphisms$^1$

In this paper, we first study some properties peculiar to $C_{0}$--semigroups of continuous module homomorphisms and give a characterization for such a $C_{0}$--semigroup to be almost surely bounded. Then, based on these, we establish the Hille-Yosida generation theorem for almost surely bounded $C_{0}$--semigroups of continuous module homomorphisms, which generalizes some known results. Moreover, the counterexample constructed in this paper also shows that it is necessary to require the almost sure boundedness for such $C_{0}$--semigroups.

A counterexample shows that not every locally $L^0$--convex topology is necessarily induced by a family of $L^0$--seminorms

This paper constructs a counterexample showing that not every locally $L^0$--convex topology is necessarily induced by a family of $L^0$--seminorms. Random convex analysis is the analytic foundation for $L^0$--convex conditional risk measures, this counterexample, however, shows that a locally $L^0$--convex module is not a proper framework for random convex analysis. Further, this paper also gives a necessary and sufficient condition for a locally $L^0$--convex topology to be induced by a family of $L^0$--seminorms. Finally, we give some comments showing that based on random locally convex modules, we can establish a perfect random convex analysis to meet the needs of the study of $L^0$--convex conditional risk measures.

Random convex analysis (I): separation and Fenchel-Moreau duality in random locally convex modules

To provide a solid analytic foundation for the module approach to conditional risk measures, our purpose is to establish a complete random convex analysis over random locally convex modules by simultaneously considering the two kinds of topologies (namely the $(\varepsilon,λ)$--topology and the locally $L^0$-- convex topology). This paper is focused on the part of separation and Fenchel-Moreau duality in random locally convex modules. The key point of this paper is to give the precise relation between random conjugate spaces of a random locally convex module under the two kinds of topologies, which enables us to not only give a thorough treatment of separation between a point and a closed $L^{0}$-convex subset but also establish the complete Fenchel-Moreau duality theorems in random locally convex modules under the two kinds of topologies.

Random convex analysis (II): continuity and subdifferentiability theorems in $L^{0}$--pre--barreled random locally convex modules

In this paper, we continue to study random convex analysis. First, we introduce the notion of an $L^0$--pre--barreled module. Then, we develop the theory of random duality under the framework of a random locally convex module endowed with the locally $L^0$--convex topology in order to establish a characterization for a random locally convex module to be $L^0$--pre--barreled, in particular we prove that the model space $L^{p}_{\mathcal{F}}(\mathcal{E})$ employed in the module approach to conditional risk measures is $L^0$--pre--barreled, which forms the most difficult part of this paper. Finally, we prove the continuity and subdifferentiability theorems for a proper lower semicontinuous $L^0$--convex function on an $L^{0}$--pre--barreled random locally convex module. So the principal results of this paper may be well suited to the study of continuity and subdifferentiability for $L^0$--convex conditional risk measures.

On random convex analysis -- the analytic foundation of the module approach to conditional risk measures

To provide a solid analytic foundation for the module approach to conditional risk measures, this paper establishes a complete random convex analysis over random locally convex modules by simultaneously considering the two kinds of topologies (namely the $(\varepsilon,λ)$--topology and the locally $L^0$-- convex topology). Then, we make use of the advantage of the $(\varepsilon,λ)$--topology and grasp the local property of $L^0$--convex conditional risk measures to prove that every $L^{0}$--convex $L^{p}$--conditional risk measure ($1\leq p\leq+\infty$) can be uniquely extended to an $L^{0}$--convex $L^{p}_{\mathcal{F}}(\mathcal{E})$--conditional risk measure and that the dual representation theorem of the former can also be regarded as a special case of that of the latter, which shows that the study of $L^p$--conditional risk measures can be incorporated into that of $L^{p}_{\mathcal{F}}(\mathcal{E})$--conditional risk measures. In particular, in the process we find that combining the countable concatenation hull of a set and the local property of conditional risk measures is a very useful analytic skill that may considerably simplify and improve the study of $L^{0}$--convex conditional risk measures.

Ekeland's Variational Principle for An $\bar{L}^{0}-$Valued Function on A Complete Random Metric Space

Motivated by the recent work on conditional risk measures, this paper studies the Ekeland's variational principle for a proper, lower semicontinuous and lower bounded $\bar{L}^{0}-$valued function, where $\bar{L}^{0}$ is the set of equivalence classes of extended real-valued random variables on a probability space. First, we prove a general form of Ekeland's variational principle for such a function defined on a complete random metric space. Then, we give a more precise form of Ekeland's variational principle for such a local function on a complete random normed module. Finally, as applications, we establish the Bishop-Phelps theorem in a complete random normed module under the framework of random conjugate spaces.

Recent progress in random metric theory and its applications to conditional risk measures

The purpose of this paper is to give a selective survey on recent progress in random metric theory and its applications to conditional risk measures. This paper includes eight sections. Section 1 is a longer introduction, which gives a brief introduction to random metric theory, risk measures and conditional risk measures. Section 2 gives the central framework in random metric theory, topological structures, important examples, the notions of a random conjugate space and the Hahn-Banach theorems for random linear functionals. Section 3 gives several important representation theorems for random conjugate spaces. Section 4 gives characterizations for a complete random normed module to be random reflexive. Section 5 gives hyperplane separation theorems currently available in random locally convex modules. Section 6 gives the theory of random duality with respect to the locally $L^{0}-$convex topology and in particular a characterization for a locally $L^{0}-$convex module to be $L^{0}-$pre$-$barreled. Section 7 gives some basic results on $L^{0}-$convex analysis together with some applications to conditional risk measures. Finally, Section 8 is devoted to extensions of conditional convex risk measures, which shows that every representable $L^{\infty}-$type of conditional convex risk measure and every continuous $L^{p}-$type of convex conditional risk measure ($1\leq p<+\infty$) can be extended to an $L^{\infty}_{\cal F}({\cal E})-$type of $σ_{ε,λ}(L^{\infty}_{\cal F}({\cal E}), L^{1}_{\cal F}({\cal E}))-$lower semicontinuous conditional convex risk measure and an $L^{p}_{\cal F}({\cal E})-$type of ${\cal T}_{ε,λ}-$continuous conditional convex risk measure ($1\leq p<+\infty$), respectively.

The Algebraic Structure of Finitely Generated $L^{0}(\mathcal{F},K)$-Modules and the Helly Theorem in Random Normed Modules

Let $K$ be the scalar field of real numbers or complex numbers and $L^{0}(\mathcal{F},K)$ the algebra of equivalence classes of $K-$valued random variables defined on a probability space $(Ω,\mathcal{F},P)$. In this paper, we first characterize the algebraic structure of finitely generated $L^{0}(\mathcal{F},K)$-modules and then combining the recently developed separation theorem in random locally convex modules we prove the Helly theorem in random normed modules with the countable concatenation property under the framework of random conjugate spaces at the same time a simple counterexample shows that it is necessary to require the countable concatenation property. By the way,we also give an application to the existence problem of the random solution of a system of random linear functional equations.

A comprehensive connection between the basic results and properties derived from two kinds of topologies for a random locally convex module

The purpose of this paper is to make a comprehensive connection between the basic results and properties derived from the two kinds of topologies (namely the $(ε,λ)-$topology introduced by the author and the stronger locally $L^{0}-$convex topology recently introduced by Filipovi$\acute{c}$ et. al) for a random locally convex module. First, we give an extremely simple proof of the known Hahn-Banach extension theorem of $L^{0}-$linear functions as well as its continuous variants. Then we give the essential relations between the hyperplane separation theorems in [Filipovi$\acute{c}$ et. al, J. Funct. Anal.256(2009)3996--4029] and a basic strict separation theorem in [Guo et. al, Nonlinear Anal. 71(2009)3794--3804]: in the process obtain a useful and surprising fact that a random locally convex module with the countable concatenation property must have the same completeness under the two topologies! Based on the relation between the two kinds of completeness, we go on to present the central part of this paper: we prove that most of the previously established deep results of random conjugate spaces of random normed modules under the $(ε,λ)-$topology are still valid under the locally $L^{0}-$convex topology, which considerably enriches financial applications of random normed modules.
