Duality and bicrystals on infinite binary matrices

The set of finite binary matrices of a given size is known to carry a finite type A bicrystal structure. We first review this classical construction, explain how it yields a short proof of the equality between Kostka polynomials and one-dimensional sums together with a natural generalisation of the 2M -- X Pitman transform. Next, we show that, once the relevant formalism on families of infinite binary matrices is introduced, this is a particular case of a much more general phenomenon. Each such family of matrices is proved to be endowed with Kac-Moody bicrystal and tricrystal structures defined from the classical root systems. Moreover, we give an explicit decomposition of these multicrystals, reminiscent of the decomposition of characters yielding the Cauchy identities.

A positive combinatorial formula for symplectic Kostka-Foulkes polynomials I: Rows

We prove a conjecture of Lecouvey, which proposes a closed, positive combinatorial formula for symplectic Kostka-Foulkes polynomials, in the case of rows of arbitrary weight. To show this, we construct a new algorithm for computing cocyclage in terms of which the conjecture is described. Our algorithm is free of local constraints, which were the main obstacle in Lecouvey's original construction. In particular, we show that our model is governed by the situation in type A. This approach works for arbitrary weight and we expect it to lead to a proof of the conjecture in full generality.

Branching graphs for finite unitary groups in non-defining characteristic

We show that the modular branching rule (in the sense of Harish-Chandra) on unipotent modules for finite unitary groups is piecewise described by particular connected components of the crystal graph of well-chosen Fock spaces, under favourable conditions. Besides, we give the combinatorial formula to pass from one to the other in the case of modules arising from cuspidal modules of defect 0. This partly proves a recent conjecture of Jacon and the authors.

Crystal isomorphisms in Fock spaces and Schensted correspondence in affine type A

We are interested in the structure of the crystal graph of level $l$ Fock spaces representations of $\mathcal{U}_q (\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}_e})$. Since the work of Shan [26], we know that this graph encodes the modular branching rule for a corresponding cyclotomic rational Cherednik algebra. Besides, it appears to be closely related to the Harish-Chandra branching graph for the appropriate finite unitary group, according to [8]. In this paper, we make explicit a particular isomorphism between connected components of the crystal graphs of Fock spaces. This so-called "canonical" crystal isomorphism turns out to be expressible only in terms of: - Schensted's classic bumping procedure, - the cyclage isomorphism defined in [13], - a new crystal isomorphism, easy to describe, acting on cylindric multipartitions. We explain how this can be seen as an analogue of the bumping algorithm for affine type $A$. Moreover, it yields a combinatorial characterisation of the vertices of any connected component of the crystal of the Fock space.

Generalised canonical basic sets for Ariki-Koike algebras

Let H be a non semi-simple Ariki-Koike algebra. According to [18] and [14], there is a generalisation of Lusztig's a-function which induces a natural order (parametrised by a tuple m) on Specht modules. In some cases, Geck and Jacon have proved that this order makes unitriangular the decomposition matrix of H. The algebra H is then said to admit a "canonical basic set". We fully classify which values of m afford a canonical basic set for H and which do not. When this is the case, we describe these sets in terms of "twisted Uglov" or "twisted Kleshchev" multipartitions.

Harish-Chandra series in finite unitary groups and crystal graphs

The distribution of the unipotent modules (in non-defining prime characteristic) of the finite unitary groups into Harish-Chandra series is investigated. We formulate a series of conjectures relating this distribution with the crystal graph of an integrable module for a certain quantum group. Evidence for our conjectures is presented, as well as proofs for some of their consequences for the crystal graphs involved. In the course of our work we also generalize Harish-Chandra theory for some of the finite classical groups, and we introduce their Harish-Chandra branching graphs.
