A generalization of the Aluthge transformation in the viewpoint of operator means

The Aluthge transformation is generalized in the viewpoint of the axiom of operator means by using double operator integrals. It includes the mean transformation which is defined by S. H. Lee, W. Y. Lee and Yoon. Next we shall give some properties of it. Especially, we shall show that the nn-th iteration of mean transformation of an invertible matrix converges to a normal matrix. Inclusion relations among numerical ranges of generalized Aluthge transformations respect to some operator means are considered.

Joint numerical radius of spherical Aluthge transforms of tuples of Hilbert space operators

Let T=(T1,…,Td)\mathbf{T}=(T_1,\ldots,T_d) be a dd-tuple of operators on a complex Hilbert space H\mathcal{H}. The spherical Aluthge transform of T\mathbf{T} is the dd-tuple given by T^:=(PV1P,…,PVdP)\widehat{\mathbf{T}}:=(\sqrt{P}V_1\sqrt{P},\ldots,\sqrt{P}V_d\sqrt{P}) where P:=T1∗T1+…+Td∗TdP:=\sqrt{T_1^*T_1+\ldots+T_d^*T_d} and (V1,…,Vd)(V_1,\ldots,V_d) is a joint partial isometry such that Tk=VkPT_k=V_k P for all 1≤k≤d1 \le k \le d. In this paper, we prove several inequalities involving the joint numerical radius and the joint operator norm of T^\widehat{\mathbf{T}}. Moreover, a characterization of the joint spectral radius of an operator tuple T\mathbf{T} via nn-th iterated of spherical Aluthge transform is established.

Some generalized numerical radius inequalities for Hilbert space operators

We generalize several inequalities involving powers of the numerical radius for product of two operators acting on a Hilbert space. For any A,B,X∈B(H)A, B, X\in \mathbb{B}(\mathscr{H}) such that A,BA,B are positive, we establish some numerical radius inequalities for AαXBαA^αXB^α and AαXB1−α  (0≤α≤1)A^αX B^{1-α}\,\,(0 \leq α\leq 1) and Heinz means under mild conditions.
