Cooperative Communications for Internet of Everything in B5G/6G Hybrid and Ubiquitous Networks: Foundation, Further Optimization and Solutions

Cooperative Communications (CC) has been one of most critical communication technologies which plays a founding role on Internet of Everything in B5G/6G networks. As 5G communications standard is gradually established recently, core communications technologies with CC are further studied to significantly improve communication quality and develop new communications scenarios for B5G/6G ubiquitous networks. Considering that CC has been regarded as foundation theory which widely exists in future multiple B5G/6G hybrid scenarios, such as, Cognitive Internet of Things (CIOT) networks, UAVs communications, air-space-ground of integrated networks, underwater acoustic communication and so on, besides it is closely combined with other key technologies, for examples, Massive MIMO, NOMA, Full-duplex transmission, Polar code and so on. Hence, in this paper we review foundation of CC for Internet of Everything in B5G/6G multiple heterogeneous CC networks, and compare fundamental CC algorithms to reveal key of performance improvement. Furthermore we propose that collective communications ideology is theory of foundation to realize communications for arbitrary two points as source/destination devices, sensors, relays, IOT nodes and so on in future.

Hamiltonians for the zeros of a general family of zeta functions

Towards the Hilbert-Pólya conjecture, in this paper, we present a general construction of Hamiltonian $\hat{H}_{f},$ which leads a general family of Hurwitz zeta functions $(-1)^{z_{n}-1}L(f,z_{n},x+1)$ defined by Mellin transform becomes their eigenstates under a suitable boundary condition, and the eigenvalues $E_{n}$ have the property that $z_{n}=\frac{1}{2}(1-iE_{n})$ are the zeros of a general family of zeta functions $L(f,z)\equiv L(f,z,1)$.

New Complementary Sets with Low PAPR Property under Spectral Null Constraints

Complementary set sequences (CSSs) are useful for dealing with the high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) problem in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems. In practical OFDM transmission, however, certain sub-carriers maybe reserved and/or prohibited to transmit signals, leading to the so-called \emph{spectral null constraint} (SNC) design problem. For example, the DC sub-carrier is reserved to avoid the offsets in D/A and A/D converter in the LTE systems. While most of the current research focus on the design of low PAPR CSSs to improve the code-rate, few works address the aforementioned SNC in their designs. This motivates us to investigate CSSs with SNC as well as low PAPR property. In this paper, we present systematic constructions of CSSs under SNCs and low PAPR. First, we show that mutually orthogonal complementary sets (MOCSs) can be used as \emph{seed sequences} to generate new CSSs with SNC and low PAPR, and then provide an iterative technique for the construction of MOCSs which can be further used to generate complementary sets (CSs) with low PAPRs and spectral nulls at \emph{varying} positions in the designed sequences. Next, inspired by a recent idea of Chen, we propose a novel construction of these \emph{seed} MOCSs with non-power-of-two lengths from generalized Boolean functions.

On $p$-adic Euler $L$-functions

In this paper, we define the p-adic Euler L-functions using the fermionic p-adic integral on Zp. By computing the values of the p-adic Euler L-functions at negative integers, we show that for Dirichlet characters with odd conductor, this definition is quivalent to the previous definition following Kubata-Leopoldt and Washington's approach. We also study the behavior of p-adic Euler L-functions at positive integers. An interesting thing is that most of the results in Section 11.3.3 of Cohen's book [H. Cohen, Number Theory Vol. II: Analytic and Modern Tools, Graduate Texts in Mathematics, 240. Springer, New York, 2007] are also established if we replace the generalized Bernoulli numbers with the generalized Euler numbers.

On $p$-adic Hurwitz-type Euler zeta functions

The definition for the $p$-adic Hurwitz-type Euler zeta functions has been given by using the fermionic $p$-adic integral on $\mathbb Z_p$. By computing the values of this kind of $p$-adic zeta function at negative integers, we show that it interpolates the Euler polynomials $p$-adically. Many properties are provided for the $p$-adic Hurwitz-type Euler zeta functions, including the convergent Laurent series expansion, the distribution formula, the functional equation, the reflection formula, the derivative formula, the $p$-adic Raabe formula and so on. The definition for the $p$-adic Euler $L$-functions has also been given by using the $p$-adic Hurwitz-type Euler zeta functions.

The (S,{2})-Iwasawa theory

Iwasawa made the fundamental discovery that there is a close connection between the ideal class groups of $\mathbb{Z}_{p}$-extensions of cyclotomic fields and the $p$-adic analogue of Riemann's zeta functions $$ζ(s)=\sum_{n=1}^{\infty}\frac{1}{n^{s}}.$$ In this paper, we show that there may also exist a parallel Iwasawa's theory corresponding to the $p$-adic analogue of Euler's deformation of zeta functions $$ϕ(s)=\sum_{n=1}^{\infty}\frac{(-1)^{n-1}}{n^{s}}.$$

On p-adic analogue of Weil's elliptic functions according to Eisenstein

In this paper, using p-adic integration with values in spaces of modular forms, we construct the p-adic analogue of Weil's elliptic functions according to Eisenstein in the book "Elliptic functions according to Eisenstein and and Kronecker". This construction extends Serre's p-adic family of Eisenstein series in "Formes modulaires et fonctions zêta p-adiques". We show that the power series expansion of Weil's elliptic functions also exists in the p-adic case.

Sequence Design for Cognitive CDMA Communications under Arbitrary Spectrum Hole Constraint

To support interference-free quasi-synchronous code-division multiple-access (QS-CDMA) communication with low spectral density profile in a cognitive radio (CR) network, it is desirable to design a set of CDMA spreading sequences with zero-correlation zone (ZCZ) property. However, traditional ZCZ sequences (which assume the availability of the entire spectral band) cannot be used because their orthogonality will be destroyed by the spectrum hole constraint in a CR channel. To date, analytical construction of ZCZ CR sequences remains open. Taking advantage of the Kronecker sequence property, a novel family of sequences (called "quasi-ZCZ" CR sequences) which displays zero cross-correlation and near-zero auto-correlation zone property under arbitrary spectrum hole constraint is presented in this paper. Furthermore, a novel algorithm is proposed to jointly optimize the peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) and the periodic auto-correlations of the proposed quasi-ZCZ CR sequences. Simulations show that they give rise to single-user bit-error-rate performance in CR-CDMA systems which outperform traditional non-contiguous multicarrier CDMA and transform domain communication systems; they also lead to CR-CDMA systems which are more resilient than non-contiguous OFDM systems to spectrum sensing mismatch, due to the wideband spreading.

On the integral of the product of four and more Bernoulli polynomials

In 1958, L.J. Mordell provided the formula for the integral of the product of two Bernoulli polynomials, he also remarked: "The integrals containing the product of more than two Bernoulli polynomials do not appear to lead to simple results." In this paper, we provide explicit formulas for the integral of the product of $r$ Bernoulli polynomials, where $r$ is any positive integer. Many authors' results in this direction, including Nörlund, Mordell, Carlitz, Agoh and Dilcher are special cases of the formulas given in this paper.

Cluster-based Transform Domain Communication Systems for High Spectrum Efficiency

This paper presents a cluster-based transform domain communication system (TDCS) to improve spectrum efficiency. Unlike the utilities of clusters in orthogonal frequency division multiplex (OFDM) systems, the cluster-based TDCS framework divides entire unoccupied spectrum bins into $L$ clusters, where each one represents a data steam independently, to achieve $L$ times of spectrum efficiency compared to that of the traditional one. Among various schemes of spectrum bin spacing and allocation, the TDCS with random allocation scheme appears to be an ideal candidate to significantly improve spectrum efficiency without seriously degrading power efficiency. In multipath fading channel, the coded TDCS with random allocation scheme achieves robust BER performance due to a large degree of frequency diversity. Furthermore, our study shows that the smaller spectrum bin spacing should be configured for the cluster-based TDCS to achieve higher spectrum efficiency and more robust BER performance.

Gauss sums over some matrix groups

In this note, we give explicit expressions of Gauss sums for general (resp. special) linear groups over finite fields, which involves Gauss sums (resp. Kloosterman sums). The key ingredient is averaging such sums over Borel subgroups. As applications, we count the number of invertible matrices of zero-trace over finite fields and we also improve two bounds by Ferguson, Hoffman, Luca, Ostafe and Shparlinski in [ Some additive combinatorics problems in matrix rings, Rev. Mat. Complut. (23) 2010, 501--513 ].

Monomial Dynamical Systems of Dimension One over Finite Fields

In this paper we study the monomial dynamical systems of dimension one over finite fields from the viewpoints of arithmetic and graph theory. We give formulas for the number of periodic points with period r and cycles with length r. Then we compute the natural distributions of periodic points and cycles. We also define and compute the Dirichlet distributions of periodic points and cycles. Especially, we associate the monomial dynamical systems with function fields to compute distributions.

$k$th power residue chains of global fields

In 1974, Vegh proved that if $k$ is a prime and $m$ a positive integer, there is an $m$ term permutation chain of $k$th power residue for infinitely many primes [E.Vegh, $k$th power residue chains, J.Number Theory, 9(1977), 179-181]. In fact, his proof showed that $1,2,2^2,...,2^{m-1}$ is an $m$ term permutation chain of $k$th power residue for infinitely many primes. In this paper, we prove that for any "possible" $m$ term sequence $r_1,r_2,...,r_m$, there are infinitely many primes $p$ making it an $m$ term permutation chain of $k$th power residue modulo $p$, where $k$ is an arbitrary positive integer [See Theorem 1.2]. From our result, we see that Vegh's theorem holds for any positive integer $k$, not only for prime numbers. In fact, we prove our result in more generality where the integer ring $\Z$ is replaced by any $S$-integer ring of global fields (i.e. algebraic number fields or algebraic function fields over finite fields).

Error bounds for quasi-Monte Carlo integration for \mathscr{L}^{\infty} with uniform point sets

Niederreiter [H.Niederreiter, Error bounds for quasi-Monte Carlo integration with uniform point sets, Journal of computational and applied mathematics 150 (2003), 283-292] established new bounds for quasi-Monte Carlo integration for nodes sets with a special kind of uniformity property. Let (X,\mathscr{A},μ) be an arbitrary probability space, i.e., X is an arbitrary nonempty set, \mathscr{A} a σ-algebra of subsets of X, and μa probability measure defined on \mathscr{A}. The functions considered in Niederreiter's paper are bounded μ-integrable functions on X. In this note, we extend some of his results for bounded μ-integrable functions to essentially bounded \mathscr{A}-measurable functions. So Niederreiter's bounds can be used in a more general setting.
