We show the geometrical structure of the moduli space of positive-weighted trees with $n$ labels $1,\ldots , n$ which realize the same family of positive $(n-1)$-weights and we characterize them as a family of positive multi-weights.
We study the geodesic equation for the Dirichlet (gradient) metric in the space of Kaehler potentials. We first solve the initial value problem for the geodesic equation of the combination metric, including the gradient metric. We then discuss a comparison theorem between it and the Calabi metric. As geometric motivation of the combination metric, we find that the Ebin metric restricted to the space of type II deformations of a Sasakian structure is the sum of the Calabi metric and the gradient metric.
Let $X$ be a finite set. We give criterion to say if a system of trees ${\cal P}=\{T_i\}_i$ with leaf sets $L(T_i) \in {X \choose 5}$ can be amalgamated into a supertree, that is, if there exists a tree $T$ with $L(T)=X$ such that $T$ restricted to $ L(T_i)$ is equal to $T_i$.
In this note we give a characterization of Kaehler metrics which are both Calabi extremal and Kaehler-Ricci solitons in terms of complex Hessians and the Riemann curvature tensor. We apply it to prove that, under the assumption of positivity of the holomorphic sectional curvature, these metrics are Einstein.
We study properties concerning decomposition in cohomology by means of generalized-complex structures. This notion includes the $\mathcal{C}^\infty$-pure-and-fullness introduced by Li and Zhang in the complex case and the Hard Lefschetz Condition in the symplectic case. Explicit examples on the moduli space of the Iwasawa manifold are investigated.
For a given minimal Legendrian submanifold $L$ of a Sasaki-Einstein manifold we construct two families of eigenfunctions of the Laplacian of $L$ and we give a lower bound for the dimension of the corresponding eigenspace. Moreover, in the case the lower bound is attained, we prove that $L$ is totally geodesic and a rigidity result about the ambient manifold. This is a generalization of a result for the standard Sasakian sphere done by Lê and Wang.
In studying the Bott-Chern and Aeppli cohomologies for q-complete manifolds, we introduce the class of cohomologically Bott-Chern q-complete manifolds.
In this paper, we study the Dirichlet problem of the geodesic equation in the space of Kähler cone metrics $\mathcal H_\b$; that is equivalent to a homogeneous complex Monge-Ampère equation whose boundary values consist of Kähler metrics with cone singularities. Our approach concerns the generalization of the space defined in Donaldson \cite{MR2975584} to the case of Kähler manifolds with boundary; moreover we introduce a subspace $\mathcal H_C$ of $\mathcal H_\b$ which we define by prescribing appropriate geometric conditions. Our main result is the existence, uniqueness and regularity of $C^{1,1}_\b$ geodesics whose boundary values lie in $\mathcal H_C$. Moreover, we prove that such geodesic is the limit of a sequence of $C^{2,\a}_\b$ approximate geodesics under the $C^{1,1}_\b$-norm. As a geometric application, we prove the metric space structure of $\mathcal H_C$.
In this work we study the intrinsic geometry of the space of Kahler metrics under various Riemannian metrics. The first part is on the Dirichlet metric. We motivate its study, we compute its curvature, and we make links with the Calabi metric, the K-energy, the degenerate complex Hessian equation. The second part is on the weighted metrics, for which we investigate as well their geometric properties.
In view of A. Andreotti and H. Grauert's vanishing theorem for q-complete domains in C^n, (Théorème de finitude pour la cohomologie des espaces complexes, Bull. Soc. Math. France 90 (1962), 193--259,) we re-prove a vanishing result by J.-P. Sha, (p-convex Riemannian manifolds, Invent. Math. 83 (1986), no. 3, 437--447,) and H. Wu, (Manifolds of partially positive curvature, Indiana Univ. Math. J. 36 (1987), no. 3, 525--548,) for the de Rham cohomology of strictly p-convex domains in R^n in the sense of F. R. Harvey and H. B. Lawson, (The foundations of p-convexity and p-plurisubharmonicity in riemannian geometry, arXiv:1111.3895v1 [math.DG]). Our proof uses the L^2-techniques developed by L. Hörmander, (An introduction to complex analysis in several variables, Third edition, North-Holland Mathematical Library, 7, North-Holland Publishing Co., Amsterdam, 1990,) and A. Andreotti and E. Vesentini, (Carleman estimates for the Laplace-Beltrami equation on complex manifolds, Inst. Hautes Études Sci. Publ. Math. 25 (1965), 81--130).
Given any closed Kaehler manifold we define, following an idea by Eugenio Calabi, a Riemannian metric on the space of Kaehler metrics regarded as an infinite dimensional manifold. We prove several geometrical features of the resulting space, some of which we think were already known to Calabi. In particular, the space is a portion of an infinite dimensional sphere and admits explicit unique smooth solutions for the Cauchy and the Dirichlet problems for the geodesic equation.
