Duality of one-variable multiple polylogarithms and their $q$-analogues

The duality relation of one-variable multiple polylogarithms was proved by Hirose, Iwaki, Sato and Tasaka by means of iterated integrals. In this paper, we give a new proof using the method of connected sums, which was recently invented by Seki and the author. Interestingly, the connected sum involves the hypergeometric function in its connector. Moreover, we introduce two kinds of $q$-analogues of the one-variable multiple polylogarithms and generalize the duality to them.

Multiple zeta functions of Kaneko-Tsumura type and their values at positive integers

Kaneko and Tsumura introduced a new kind of multiple zeta functions $η(k_1,\ldots,k_r;s_1,\ldots,s_r)$. This is an analytic function of complex variables $s_1,\ldots,s_r$, while $k_1,\ldots,k_r$ are non-positive integer parameters. In this paper, we first extend this function to an analytic function $η(s'_1,\ldots,s'_r;s_1,\ldots,s_r)$ of $2r$ complex variables. Then we investigate its special values at positive integers. In particular, we prove some linear relations among these $η$-values and the multiple zeta values $ζ(k_1,\ldots,k_r)$ of Euler-Zagier type.

On the refined Kaneko-Zagier conjecture for general integer indices

The refined Kaneko-Zagier conjecture claims that the algebras spanned by two kinds of "completed" finite multiple zeta values, called $\hat{A}$- and $\hat{S}$-MZVs, are isomorphic. Recently, Komori defined $\hat{S}$-MZVs of general integer (i.e., not necessarily positive) indices, extending the existing definition for positive indices. In view of the refined Kaneko-Zagier conjecture, Komori's work suggests that these extended values are closely connected to $\hat{A}$-MZVs of general indices, which can be defined in an obvious way. In this paper, we show that the generalization of the refined Kaneko-Zagier conjecture for general integer indices is actually deduced from the conjecture for positive indices. The key ingredient is an inductive formula for $\hat{A}$-MZVs or $\hat{S}$-MZVs of indices which contain at least one non-positive entry.

Truncated $t$-adic symmetric multiple zeta values and double shuffle relations

We study a refinement of the symmetric multiple zeta value, called the $t$-adic symmetric multiple zeta value, by considering its finite truncation. More precisely, two kinds of regularizations (harmonic and shuffle) give two kinds of the $t$-adic symmetric multiple zeta values, thus we introduce two kinds of truncations correspondingly. Then we show that our truncations tend to the corresponding $t$-adic symmetric multiple zeta values, and satisfy the harmonic and shuffle relations, respectively. This gives a new proof of the double shuffle relations for $t$-adic symmetric multiple zeta values, first proved by Jarossay. In order to prove the shuffle relation, we develop the theory of truncated $t$-adic symmetric multiple zeta values associated with $2$-colored rooted trees. Finally, we discuss a refinement of Kaneko-Zagier's conjecture and the $t$-adic symmetric multiple zeta values of Mordell-Tornheim type.

A new integral-series identity of multiple zeta values and regularizations

We present a new "integral=series" type identity of multiple zeta values, and show that this is equivalent in a suitable sense to the fundamental theorem of regularization. We conjecture that this identity is enough to describe all linear relations of multiple zeta values over Q. We also establish the regularization theorem for multiple zeta-star values, which too is equivalent to our new identity. A connection to Kawashima's relation is discussed as well.

Multiple zeta-star values and multiple integrals

We prove a kind of integral expressions for finite multiple harmonic sums and multiple zeta-star values. Moreover, we introduce a class of multiple integrals, associated with some combinatorial data (called 2-labeled posets). This class includes both multiple zeta and zeta-star values of Euler-Zagier type, and also several other types of multiple zeta values. We show that these integrals can be used to obtain some relations among such zeta values quite transparently.

Explicit evaluation of certain sums of multiple zeta-star values

Bowman and Bradley proved an explicit formula for the sum of multiple zeta values whose indices are the sequence (3,1,3,1,...,3,1) with a number of 2's inserted. Kondo, Saito and Tanaka considered the similar sum of multiple zeta-star values and showed that this value is a rational multiple of a power of π. In this paper, we give an explicit formula for the rational part. In addition, we interpret the result as an identity in the harmonic algebra.

On some multiple zeta-star values of one-two-three indices

In this paper, we present some identities for multiple zeta-star values with indices obtained by inserting 3 or 1 into the string 2,...,2. Our identities give analogues of Zagier's evaluation of ζ(2,...,2,3,2,..., 2) and examples of a kind of duality of multiple zeta-star values. Moreover, their generalizations give partial solutions of conjectures proposed by Imatomi, Tanaka, Wakabayashi and the first author.
