Production and constraints for a massive dark photon at electron-positron colliders

Dark sector may couple to the Standard Model via one or more mediator particles. We discuss two types of mediators: the dark photon $A^{\prime}$ and the dark scalar mediator $ϕ$. The total cross-sections and various differential distributions of the processes $e^{+} e^{-} \rightarrow q \bar{q} A^{\prime}$ and $e^{+} e^{-} \rightarrow q \bar{q} ϕ$ ($q=u,~d,~c,~s$ and $b$ quarks) are discussed. We focus on the study of the invisible $A^{\prime}$ due to the cleaner background at future $e^{+} e^{-}$ colliders. It is found that the kinematic distributions of the two-jet system could be used to identify (or exclude) the dark photon and the dark scalar mediator, as well as to distinguish between them. We further study the possibility of a search for dark photons at a future CEPC experiment with $\sqrt{s}=$ 91.2 GeV and 240 GeV. With CEPC running at $\sqrt{s}=$ 91.2 GeV, it would be possible to perform a decisive measurement of the dark photon (20 GeV $< m_{A^{\prime}} <$ 60 GeV) in less than one operating year. The lower limits of the integrated luminosity for the significance $S/\sqrt{B}=$ 2$σ$, 3$σ$ and 5$σ$ are presented.

Cosmic expansion driven by real scalar field for different forms of potential

We discuss the expansion of the universe in the FRLW model assuming that the source of dark energy is either tachyonic scalar field or quintessence. The tachyonic scalar field with exponential and power-law potential (function of homogeneous scalar field $ϕ$) both gives exponential expansion of the universe. It is found that this behaviour is not distinguishable from the quintessence with respect to these potentials.

Evolution of shifted cosmological parameter and shifted dust matter in a two-phase tachyonic field universe

We propose a model of the evolution of the tachyonic scalar field over two phases in the universe. The field components do not interact in phase I, while in the subsequent phase II, they change flavours due to relative suppression of the radiation contribution. In phase II, we allow them to interact mutually with time-independent perturbation in their equations of state, as Shifted Cosmological Parameter (SCP) and Shifted Dust Matter (SDM). We determine the solutions of their scaling with the cosmic redshift in both phases. We further suggest the normalized Hubble function diagnostic, which, together with the low- and high-redshift $H(z)$ data and the concordance values of the present density parameters from the CMBR, BAO statistics etc., constrains the strength of interaction, by imposing the viable conditions to break degeneracy in 3-parameter $(γ, \varepsilon, \dotϕ^2)$ space. The range of redshifts $(z=0.1$ to $z=1.75)$ is chosen to highlight the role of interaction during structure formation, and it may lead to a future analysis of power spectrum in this model \emph{vis a vis} Warm Dark Matter (WDM) or $Λ$CDM models. We further calculate the influence of interaction in determining the age of the universe at the present epoch, within the degeneracy space of model parameters.

Evolution of the equation of state parameters of cosmological tachyonic field components through mutual interaction

We study the perturbed equation of state (EOS) parameters of the cosmological tachyonic scalar field components and their mutual time-dependent interaction. It is shown that the discrete temperature-dependent pattern of the EOS emerges from an initial continuum along the evolution of the universe. This leads to two major components in form of dark energy and dark matter, and also suggests a solution to the cosmological constant problem and the coincidence problem.

A tachyonic scalar field with mutually interacting components

We investigate the tachyonic cosmological potential $V(ϕ)$ in two different cases of the quasi-exponential expansion of universe and discuss various forms of interaction between the two components---matter and the cosmological constant--- of the tachyonic scalar field, which leads to the viable solutions of their respective energy densities. The distinction among the interaction forms is shown to appear in the $O_{m}(x)$ diagnostic. Further, the role of the high- and low-redshift observations of the Hubble parameter is discussed to determine the proportionality constants and hence the correct form of matter--cosmological constant interaction.
