Locality of percolation for graphs with polynomial growth

Schramm's Locality Conjecture asserts that the value of the critical percolation parameter $p_c$ of a graph satisfying $p_c<1$ depends only on its local structure. In this note, we prove this conjecture in the particular case of transitive graphs with polynomial growth. Our proof relies on two recent works about such graphs, namely supercritical sharpness of percolation by the same authors and a finitary structure theorem by Tessera and Tointon.

On rotarily transitive graphs

From the point of view of discrete geometry, the class of locally finite transitive graphs is a wide and important one. The subclass of Cayley graphs is of particular interest, as testifies the development of geometric group theory. Recall that Cayley graphs can be defined as non-empty locally finite connected graphs endowed with a transitive group action such that any non-identity element acts without fixed point. We define a class of transitive graphs which are transitive in an "absolutely non-Cayley way": we consider graphs endowed with a transitive group action such that any element of the group acts with a fixed point. We call such graphs "rotarily transitive graphs", and we show that, even though there is no finite rotarily transitive graph with at least 2 vertices, there is an infinite locally finite connected rotarily transitive graph. The proof is based on groups built by Ivanov which are finitely generated, of finite exponent and have a small number of conjugacy classes. We also build infinite transitive graphs (which are not locally finite) any automorphism of which has a fixed point. This is done by considering "unit distance graphs" associated with the projective plane over suitable subfields of the real numbers.

Directed Diffusion-Limited Aggregation

In this paper, we define a directed version of the Diffusion-Limited-Aggregation model. We present several equivalent definitions in finite volume and a definition in infinite volume. We obtain bounds on the speed of propagation of information in infinite volume and explore the geometry of the infinite cluster. We also explain how these results fit in a strategy for proving a shape theorem for this model.

Ergodicity and indistinguishability in percolation theory

This paper explores the link between the ergodicity of the clus-ter equivalence relation restricted to its infinite locus and the indis-tinguishability of infinite clusters. It is an important element of the dictionary connecting orbit equivalence and percolation theory. This note starts with a short exposition of some standard material of these theories. Then, the classic correspondence between ergodicity and in-distinguishability is presented. Finally, we introduce a notion of strong indistinguishability that corresponds to strong ergodicity, and obtain that this strong indistinguishability holds in the Bernoulli case. We also define an invariant percolation that is not insertion-tolerant, sat-isfies the Indistinguishability Property and does not satisfy the Strong Indistinguishability Property.
