Dynamical signature: complex manifolds, gauge fields and non-flat tangent space

Theoretical possibilities of models of gravity with dynamical signature are discussed. The different scenarios of the signature change are proposed in the framework of Einstein-Cartan gravity. We consider, subsequently, the dynamical signature in the model of the complex manifold with complex coordinates and complex metric introduced, a complexification of the manifold and coordinates through new gauge fields, an additional gauge symmetry for the Einsten-Cartan vierbein fields and non-flat tangent space for the metric in the Einstein-Cartan gravity. A new small parameter, which characterizes a degree of the deviation of the signature from the background one, is introduced in all models. The zero value of this parameter corresponds to the signature of an initial background metric. In turn, in the models with gauge fields present, this parameter represents a coupling constant of the gauge symmetry group. The mechanism of metric's determination through induced gauge fields with defined signature in the corresponding models is considered. The ways of the signature change through the gauge fields dynamics are reviewed, the consequences and applications of the proposed ideas are discussed as well.

On the proton-deuteron backward scattering

The article is devoted to the relativistic study of elastic $pD$ backward scattering based on the one-nucleon exchange diagram. Calculations were performed using relativistic deuteron wave functions obtained by solving the Bethe-Salpeter equation in the Minkowski space with relativistic separable potentials. The unpolarized differential cross section as well as some polarization observables of the reaction for initial proton momentum up to 7.3 GeV were calculated. The obtained results are compared with the calculations of other authors.

Riemann-Cartan gravity with dynamical signature

Model of Riemann-Cartan gravity with varying signature of metric is considered. The basic dynamical variables of the formalism are vierbein, spin connection, and an internal metric in the tangent space. The corresponding action contains new terms, which depend on these fields. In general case the signature of the metric is determined dynamically. The Minkowski signature is preferred dynamically because the configurations with the other signatures are dynamically suppressed. We also discuss briefly the motion of particles in the background of the modified black hole configuration, in which inside the horizon the signature is that of Euclidean space - time.

Time kink: modeling change of metric signature

The model of a signature change of a metric from the Lorenztian to Euclidean one with the use of a time dependent kink as $g_{00}$ component of the metric is considered. The metric which describes the continuous change of the signature of this type on a hypersurface is constructed and corresponding Einstein equations are solved in both regions of the space-time. The discontinuities of the Einstein tensor components on the hypersurface are discussed as well as junction conditions for the parameters of the solutions. Additionally, the properties of a transition from the space-time with one signature to an another are discussed, the presence of an inflation in the model is demonstrated as a consequence of the signature change without any additional fields required.

CPTM discrete symmetry, quantum wormholes and cosmological constant problem

We discuss the consequences of the charge, parity, time and mass (CPTM) extended reversal symmetry for the problems of the vacuum energy density and value of the cosmological constant. The results obtained are based on the framework with the separation of extended space-time of the interest on the different regions connected by this symmetry with the action of the theory valid for the full space-time and symmetrical with respect to the extended CPTM transformations. The cosmological constant is arising in the model due the gravitational interactions between the different parts of the space-time trough the quantum non-local vertices. It is proposed that the constant's value depends on the form and geometry of the vertices which glue the separated parts of the extended solution of Einstein equations determining in turn it's classical geometry. The similarity of the proposed model to the bimetric theories of gravitation is also discussed.

High energy scattering in Einstein-Cartan gravity

We consider Riemann-Cartan gravity with minimal Palatini action, which is classically equivalent to Einstein gravity. Following the ideas of L.Lipatov \cite{LipGrav} we propose the effective action for this theory aimed at the description of the high-energy scattering of gravitating particles in the multi - Regge kinematics. For that purpose we add to the Palatini action the new terms responsible for the interaction of gravitational quanta with certain collective excitations that replace exchange by multiple gravitational excitations. We propose the heuristic explanation of its particular form based on an analogy to the reggeon field theory of QCD. We argue that Regge kinematics assumes the appearance of an effective two - dimensional model describing the high - energy scattering similar to that of QCD. Such a model may be formulated in a way leading to our final effective theory, which contains interaction between the ordinary quanta of spin connection and vielbein with their effective counterparts that pretend to the role of the gravitational reggeons.

One-loop electroweak radiative corrections to lepton pair production in polarized electron-positron collisions

This paper presents the high-precision theoretical predictions for $e^+e^- \to l^-l^+$ scattering. Calculations are performed using the {\tt SANC} system. They take into account complete one-loop electroweak radiative corrections as well as longitudinal polarization of initial beams. Reaction observables are obtained using the helicity amplitude method with taking into account initial and final state fermion masses. Numerical results are given for the center-of-mass energy range $\sqrt{s}=250-1000$ GeV with various degrees of polarization.

Theory for the FCC-ee : Report on the 11th FCC-ee Workshop

The Future Circular Collider (FCC) at CERN, a proposed 100-km circular facility with several colliders in succession, culminates with a 100 TeV proton-proton collider. It offers a vast new domain of exploration in particle physics, with orders of magnitude advances in terms of Precision, Sensitivity and Energy. The implementation plan foresees, as a first step, an Electroweak Factory electron-positron collider. This high luminosity facility, operating between 90 and 365 GeV centre-of-mass energy, will study the heavy particles of the Standard Model, Z, W, Higgs, and top with unprecedented accuracy. The Electroweak Factory $e^+e^-$ collider constitutes a real challenge to the theory and to precision calculations, triggering the need for the development of new mathematical methods and software tools. A first workshop in 2018 had focused on the first FCC-ee stage, the Tera-Z, and confronted the theoretical status of precision Standard Model calculations on the Z-boson resonance to the experimental demands. The second workshop in January 2019, which is reported here, extended the scope to the next stages, with the production of W-bosons (FCC-ee-W), the Higgs boson (FCC-ee-H) and top quarks (FCC-ee-tt). In particular, the theoretical precision in the determination of the crucial input parameters, alpha_QED, alpha_QCD, M_W, m_t at the level of FCC-ee requirements is thoroughly discussed. The requirements on Standard Model theory calculations were spelled out, so as to meet the demanding accuracy of the FCC-ee experimental potential. The discussion of innovative methods and tools for multi-loop calculations was deepened. Furthermore, phenomenological analyses beyond the Standard Model were discussed, in particular the effective theory approaches. The reports of 2018 and 2019 serve as white papers of the workshop results and subsequent developments.

On QCD RFT corrections to the propagator of reggeized gluons

We calculate an one loop QCD Regge Field Theory (RFT) correction to the propagator of reggeized gluons basing on the QCD effective action of Lipatov, \cite{LipatovEff,LipatovEff1,Our1,Our2,Our3,Our4}, and results of \cite{Our5} where Dyson-Schwinger hierarchy of the equations for the correlators of reggeized gluon fields was derived. The correction is calculated entirely in the framework of RFT with the use of the obtained expressions for the RFT bare triple Reggeon vertices and propagator of reggeized gluons, the cases of bare propagator and propagator calculated to one-loop precision are considered separately. In both results the obtained correction represents non-eikonal contributions to the propagator kinematically suppressed by $1/\sqrt{s}$ factor in comparison to the usual LLA contributions. The further application of the obtained results is discussed as well.

Transport properties of a charged hot spot in an external electromagnetic field

We investigate adiabatic expansion of a charged and rotating fluid element consisting of weakly interacting particles, which is initially perturbed by an external electromagnetic field. A framework for the perturbative calculation of the non-equilibrium distribution function of this fluid volume is considered and the distribution function is calculated to the first order in the perturbative expansion. This distribution function, which describes the evolution of the element with constant entropy, allows to calculate momentum flux tensor and viscosity coefficients of the expanding system. We show, that these viscosity coefficients depend on the initial angular velocity of the spot and on the strength of its initial perturbation by the external field. Obtained results are applied to the phenomenology of the viscosity to the entropy ratio calculated in lattice models.

Hermitian separability and transition from singlet to adjoint BFKL equations in $\mathcal{N}=4$ super Yang-Mills Theory

We revisit the next-to-leading order~(NLO) correction to the eigenvalue of the BFKL equation in the adjoint representation and investigate its properties in analogy with the singlet BFKL in planar $\mathcal{N}=4$ super Yang-Mills Theory~(SYM). We show that the adjoint NLO BFKL eigenvalue is needed to be slightly modified in order to have a property of hermitian separability present for the singlet BFKL. After this modification the adjoint NLO BFKL eigenvalue is expressed through holomorphic and antiholomophic parts of the leading order eigenvalue and their derivatives. The proposed choice of the modified NLO expression is supported by the fact that it is possible to obtain the same result in a relatively straightforward way directly from the singlet NLO BFKL eigenvalue replacing alternating sums by non-alternating ones. This transformation corresponds to changing cylindrical topology of the singlet BFKL to the planar topology of the adjoint BFKL. We believe that the original NLO calculation of Fadin and Lipatov is correct and valid for the computations of the remainder function of the BDS amplitude. However, the notion of the adjoint BFKL eigenvalue is vaguely defined due to removal of the infrared divergences as well as redistributing NLO corrections between the kernel and impact factors, and is to be modified to comply with properties of the singlet BFKL equation. This, at first sight, a purely semantic difference may become important in resolving the issue of the non-vanishing adjoint NNLO eigenvalue in the limit of zero anomalous dimension $ν$ and conformal spin $n$, which contradicts the bootstrap condition of the BFKL equation.

Update of the MCSANC Monte Carlo Integrator, v.1.20

This article presents new features of the MCSANC v.1.20 program, a Monte Carlo tool for calculation of the next-to-leading order electroweak and QCD corrections to various Standard Model processes. The extensions concern implementation of Drell--Yan-like processes and include a systematic treatment of the photon-induced contribution in proton--proton collisions and electroweak corrections beyond NLO approximation. There are also technical improvements such as calculation of the forward-backward asymmetry for the neutral current Drell--Yan process. The updated code is suitable for studies of the effects due to EW and QCD radiative corrections to Drell--Yan (and several other) processes at the LHC and for forthcoming high energy proton--proton colliders.

Transport properties of a charged drop in an external electric field

Transport properties of a charged droplet of weakly interacting particles in an external field are investigated. A non-equilibrium distribution function which describes a process of the droplet transverse evolution with constant entropy in an external electric field is calculated. With the help of this distribution function, shear viscosity coefficients in the transverse plane are calculated as well. They are found to be very small and depend on the time of the droplet's expansion in a hydrodynamical regime and external field value. An applicability of the results to the description of initial states of quark-gluon plasma obtained in high-energy interactions of nuclei is also discussed.

Gas-liquid transition in the model of particles interacting at high energy

An application of the ideas of the inertial confinement fusion process in the case of particles interacting at high energy is investigated. A possibility of the gas-liquid transition in the gas is considered using different approaches. In particular, a shock wave description of interactions between particles is studied and a self-similar solution of Euler's equation is discussed. Additionally, Boltzmann equation is solved for self-consistent field (Vlasov's equation) in linear approximation for the case of a gas under external pressure and the corresponding change of Knudsen number of the system is calculated.

SANC system and its applications for LHC

The {\tt SANC} computer system is aimed at support of analytic and numeric calculations for experiments at colliders. The system is reviewed briefly. Recent results on high-precision description of the Drell-Yan processes at the LHC are presented. Special attention is paid to the evaluation of higher order final-state QED corrections to the single $W$ and $Z$ boson production processes. A new Monte Carlo integrator {\tt mcsanc} suited for description of a series of high-energy physics processes at the one-loop precision level is presented.

On asymptotic solutions of RFT in zero transverse dimensions

An investigation of dynamical properties of solutions of toy model of interacting Pomerons with triple vertex in zero transverse dimension is performed. Stable points and corresponding solutions at the limit of large rapidity are studied in the framework of given model. A presence of closed cycles in solutions is discussed as well as an application of obtained results for the case of interacting QCD Pomerons.

SANC integrator in the progress: QCD and EW contributions

Modules and packages for the one-loop calculations at partonic level represent the first level of SANC output computer product. The next level represents Monte Carlo integrator mcsanc, realizing fully differential hadron level calculations (convolution with PDF) for the HEP processes at LHC. In this paper we describe the implementation into the framework mcsanc first set of processes: DY NC, DY CC, ff->HW(Z) and single top production. Both EW and QCD NLO corrections are taken into account. A comparison of SANC results with those existing in the world literature is given.

Standard SANC modules for NLO QCD Radiative Corrections to Single-top Production

It this paper we present the results obtained with the newly created Standard SANC modules for calculation of the NLO QCD corrections to single top production processes in s and t channels at the partonic level, as well as top-decays. The main aim of these results is to prove the correct work of modules. A comprehensive comparison with results of the CompHEP system is given, where possible. These modules are intended to be used in Monte Carlo generators for single top production processes at the LHC. As in our recent paper, devoted to the electroweak corrections to these processes, we study the regularization of the top-legs associated infrared divergences with aid of the complex mass of the top quark. A comparison of QCD corrections with those computed by the conventional method is presented both for top production and decays. For s channel production we give an analytic proof of equivalence of the two methods in the limit of low top width.

Electroweak Radiative Corrections to Single-top Production

Radiative corrections to the single top s and t channel production processes are revisited. Complete one-loop electroweak corrections are calculated within the SANC system. New is a study of the regularisation of the top-legs associated infrared divergences with aid of the complex mass of the top quark. A comparison of these electroweak corrections with those computed by the conventional method is presented both for top production and decays. Standard FORM and FORTRAN SANC modules are created. These modules are compiled into a package sanc_cc_v1.40, which may be downloaded from SANC project homepages. Many numerical results are presented at the partonic level with the aim to demonstrate the correct working of modules. These modules are intended to be used in Monte Carlo generators for single top production at the LHC. Where possible, we compare our results with those existing in the literature; in particular, a comprehensive comparison with results of the CompHEP system is given.

SANCnews: top decays in QCD and EW sectors

In this paper we present the results of the implementation of the decay t -> b f1 f1 into the SANC system (f1 is a massless fermion). The new aspect of the work is the combination of QCD and EW corrections. All calculations are done at the one-loop level in the Standard Model. We give a detailed account of the new procedure - the forming of a class of JAW,WA functions. These functions are related to the procedure of extraction of infra-red and mass-shell singular divergences. The emphasis of this paper is on the presentation of numerical results for various approaches: complete one-loop calculations and different versions of pole approximations.

Boundary conditions in the QCD nucleus-nucleus scattering problem

In the framework of the effective field theory for interacting BFKL pomerons, applied to nucleus-nucleus scattering, boundary conditions for the classical field equations are discussed. Correspondence with the QCD diagrams at the boundary rapidities requires pomeron interaction with the participating nuclei to be exponential and non-local. Commonly used 'eikonal' boundary conditions, local and linear in fields, follow in the limit of small QCD pomeron-nucleon coupling. Numerical solution of the classical field equations, which sum all tree diagrams for central gold-gold scattering, demonstrates that corrected boundary conditions lead to substantially different results, as compared to the eikonal conditions studied in earlier publications. A breakdown of projectile-target symmetry for particular solutions discovered earlier in \cite{bom} is found to occur at roughly twice lower rapidity. Most important, due to a high non-linearity of the problem, the found asymmetric solutions are not unique but form a family growing in number with rapidity. The minimal value for the action turns out to be much lower than with the eikonal boundary conditions and saturates at rapidities around 10.

Tevatron-for-LHC Report: Top and Electroweak Physics

The top quark and electroweak bosons (W and Z) represent the most massive fundamental particles yet discovered, and as such refer directly to the Standard Model's greatest remaining mystery: the mechanism by which all particles gained mass. This report summarizes the work done within the top-ew group of the Tevatron-for-LHC workshop. It represents a collection of both Tevatron results, and LHC predictions. The hope is that by considering and comparing both machines, the LHC program can be improved and aided by knowledge from the Tevatron, and that particle physics as a whole can be enriched. The report includes measurements of the top quark mass, searches for single top quark production, and physics of the electroweak bosons at hadron colliders.

Update of one-loop corrections for E+ E- --> F anti-F, first run of SANC system

We present a description of calculations of the amplitude for E+ E- --> F anti-F process with account of electroweak and QED one-loop corrections. This study is performed within the framework of the project SANC. The calculations are done within the OMS (on-mass-shell) renormalization scheme in two gauges: in Rxi, which allows an explicit control of gauge invariance by examining cancellation of gauge parameters and search for gauge-invariant subsets of diagrams, and in the unitary gauge as a cross-check. The formulae we derived are realized in two independent FORTRAN codes, eeffLib, which was written in an old fashioned way, i.e. manually, and another one, created automatically with an aid of s2n.f (symbols to numbers) software -- a part of SANC system. We present a comprehensive comparison with the results of the well-known program ZFITTER for all the light fermion production channels, as well as with the results existing in the world literature for the process E+ E- --> F anti-F;

Recent experimental data and the size of the quark in the Constituent Quark Model

We use the Constituent Quark Model (CQM) to describe CDF data on double parton cross section and HERA data on the $ J / Ψ$ ratio cross section of elastic and inelastic diffractive productions. Our estimate shows that the radius of the constituent quark turns out to be rather small, $R^2_{quark} \approx 0.1 Gev^{-2}$, in accordance with the assumption on which CQM is based.
