Common frequent hypercyclicity

We provide with criteria for a family of sequences of operators to share a frequently universal vector. These criteria are variants of the classical Frequent Hypercyclicity Criterion and of a recent criterion due to Grivaux, Matheron and Menet where periodic points play the central role. As an application, we obtain for any operator T in a specific class of operators acting on a separable Banach space, a necessary and sufficient condition on a subset ΛΛ of the complex plane for the family {λλT : λλ ∈\in ΛΛ} to have a common frequently hypercyclic vector. In passing, this permits us to easily exhibit frequent hypercyclic weighted shifts which do not possess common frequent hypercyclic vectors. We also provide with criteria for families of the recently introduced operators of C-type to share a common frequently hypercyclic vector. Further, we prove that the same problem of common αα-frequent hypercyclicity may be vacuous, where the notion of αα-frequent hypercyclicity extends that of frequent hypercyclicity replacing the natural density by more general weighted densities. Finally, it is already known that any operator satisfying the classical Frequent Universality Criterion is αα-frequently universal for any sequence αα satisfying a suitable condition. We complement this result by showing that for any such operator, there exists a vector x which is αα-frequently universal for T , with respect to all such αα.

Γ-supercyclicity

We characterize the subsets ΓΓ of $\C$ for which the notion of ΓΓ-supercyclicity coincides with the notion of hypercyclicity, where an operator TT on a Banach space XX is said to be ΓΓ-supercyclic if there exists x∈Xx\in X such that Orb‾(Γx,T)=X\overline{\text{Orb}}(Γx, T)=X. In addition we characterize the sets $Γ\subset \C$ for which, for every operator TT on XX, TT is hypercyclic if and only if there exists a vector x∈Xx\in X such that the set Orb(Γx,T)\text{Orb}(Γx, T) is somewhere dense in XX. This extends results by León-Müller and Bourdon-Feldman respectively. We are also interested in the description of those sets $Γ\subset \C$ for which ΓΓ-supercyclicity is equivalent to supercyclicity.

nn-supercyclic and strongly nn-supercyclic operators in finite dimensions

We prove that on Rn\mathbb{R}^n, there is no NN-supercyclic operator with 1≤N<⌊n+12⌋1\leq N< \lfloor \frac{n+1}{2}\rfloor i.e. if Rn\mathbb{R}^n has an NN dimensional subspace whose orbit under TT is dense in Rn\mathbb{R}^n, then NN is greater than ⌊n+12⌋\lfloor\frac{n+1}{2}\rfloor. Moreover, this value is optimal. We then consider the case of strongly NN-supercyclic operators. An operator TT is strongly NN-supercyclic if Rn\mathbb{R}^n has an NN-dimensional subspace whose orbit under TT is dense in PN(Rn)\mathbb{P}_N(\mathbb{R}^n), the NN-th Grassmannian. We prove that strong NN-supercyclicity does not occur non-trivially in finite dimension.
