Revisiting Viscous Transonic Decretion Disks of Be Stars

In the context of Be stars, we restudied the viscous transonic decretion disk model of these stars. This model is driven by a radiative force due to an ensemble of optically-thin lines and viscosity considering the Shakura Sunyaev prescription. The non-linear equation of motion presents a singularity (sonic point) and an eigenvalue, which is also the initial condition at the stellar surface. Then, to obtain this eigenvalue, we set it as a radial quantity and perform a detailed topological analysis. Thereafter, we describe a numerical method for solving either Nodal and Saddle transonic solutions. The value of the viscosity,"alpha", barely determine the location of the sonic point, but it determines the topology of the solution. We found two Nodal solutions, which are almost indistinguishable between them. Saddle solutions are founded for lower values of "alpha" than the required of the Nodal solutions. In addition, rotational velocity do not play a determine role in the velocity (and density) profile, because viscosity effects collapse all the solutions to almost a unique one in a small region above the stellar surface. A suitable combination of line force parameters and/or disk temperature, give location of the sonic point lower than 50 stellar radii, describing a truncated disk. This could explain the SED turndown observed in Be stars without needing a binary companion.

QCD Odderon: non linear evolution in the leading twist

In the paper we propose and solve analytically the non-linear evolution equation in the leading twist approximation for the Odderon contribution. We found three qualitative features of this solution, which differs the Odderon contribution from the Pomeron one :(i) the behaviour in the vicinity of the saturation scale cannot be derived from the linear evolution in a dramatic difference with the Pomeron case; (ii) a substantial decrease of the Odderon contribution with the energy; and (iii) the lack of geometric scaling behaviour. The two last features have been seen in numerical attempts to solve the Odderon equation.

CGC/saturation approach: a new impact-parameter dependent model in the next-to-leading order of perturbative QCD

This paper is the first attempt to build CGC/saturation model based on the next-to-leading order corrections to linear and non-linear evolution in QCD. We assume that the renormalization scale is the saturation momentum and found that the scattering amplitude has geometric scaling behaviour deep in the saturation domain with the explicit formula of this behaviour at large $τ= r^2 Q^2_s$. We built a model that include this behaviour, as well as the ingredients that has been known: (i) the behaviour of the scattering amplitude in the vicinity of the saturation momentum, using the NLO BFKL kernel, (ii) the pre-asymptotic behaviour of $\ln\Lb Q^2_s\Lb Y \Rb\Rb$, as function of $Y$ and (iii) the impact parameter behaviour of the saturation momentum, which has exponential behaviour $\propto \exp\Lb -\, m\, b\Rb$ at large $b$.We demonstrated that the model is able to describe the experimental data for the deep inelastic structure function. Despite this, our model has difficulties that are related to the small value of the QCD coupling at $Q_s\Lb Y_0\Rb$ and the large values of the saturation momentum, which indicate the theoretical inconsistency of our description.

On a three-layer Hele-Shaw model of enhanced oil recovery with a linear viscous profile

We present a non-standard eigenvalue problem that arises in the linear stability of a three-layer Hele-Shaw model of enhanced oil recovery. A nonlinear transformation is introduced which allows reformulation of the non-standard eigenvalue problem as a boundary value problem for Kummer's equation when the viscous profile of the middle layer is linear. Using the existing body of works on Kummer's equation, we construct an exact solution of the eigenvalue problem and provide the dispersion relation implicitly through the existence criterion for the non-trivial solution. We also discuss the convergence of the series solution. It is shown that this solution reduces to the physically relevant solutions in two asymptotic limits: (i) when the linear viscous profile approaches a constant viscous profile; or (ii) when the length of the middle layer approaches zero.

Non linear evolution: revisiting the solution in the saturation region

In this paper we revisit the problem of the solution to Balitsky-Kovchegov equation deeply in the saturation domain. We find that solution has the form of Levin-Tuchin solution but it depends on variable $\bar{z} = \ln(r^2 Q^2_s) + \mbox{Const}$ and the value of $\mbox{Const}$ is calculated in this paper. We propose the solution for full BFKL kernel at large $z$ in the entire kinematic region that satisfies the McLerram-Venugopalan initial condition

BFKL Pomeron calculus: solution to equations for nucleus-nucleus scattering in the saturation domain

In this paper we solve the equation for nucleus-nucleus scattering in the BFKL Pomeron calculus, suggested by Braun. We find these solutions analytically at high energies as well as numerically in the entire region of energies inside the saturation region. The semi-classical approximation is used to select out the infinite set of the parasite solutions. The nucleus-nucleus cross sections at high energy are estimated and compared with the Glauber-Gribov approach. It turns out that the exact formula gives the estimates that are very close to the ones based on Glauber-Gribov formula which is important for the practical applications
