Framework for Behavioral Disorder Detection Using Machine Learning and Application of Virtual Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in COVID-19 Pandemic

In this modern world, people are becoming more self-centered and unsocial. On the other hand, people are stressed, becoming more anxious during COVID-19 pandemic situation and exhibits symptoms of behavioral disorder. To measure the symptoms of behavioral disorder, usually psychiatrist use long hour sessions and inputs from specific questionnaire. This process is time consuming and sometime is ineffective to detect the right behavioral disorder. Also, reserved people sometime hesitate to follow this process. We have created a digital framework which can detect behavioral disorder and prescribe virtual Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (vCBT) for recovery. By using this framework people can input required data that are highly responsible for the three behavioral disorders namely depression, anxiety and internet addiction. We have applied machine learning technique to detect specific behavioral disorder from samples. This system guides the user with basic understanding and treatment through vCBT from anywhere any time which would potentially be the steppingstone for the user to be conscious and pursue right treatment.

Implications of dark sector mixing on leptophilic scalar dark matter

We propose a new viable outlook to the mixing between a singlet and a doublet leptonic dark sector fields. This choice relaxes the dark matter (DM) search constraints on the quintessential scalar singlet DM as well as presents new opportunities for its detection in the lab. The mixing produces an arbitrary mass difference between the two components of the extra doublet in a gauge-invariant way, without introducing any new scale of electroweak symmetry breaking in the theory. It also provides a useful handle to distinguish between the dark sector particles of different isospins, which is a challenging task otherwise. As the dark leptons coannihilate non-trivially, the mixing effectively enhances the viable parameter space for the relic density constraint. In low DM mass regime, our analysis shows that with a non-zero mixing, it is possible to relax the existing indirect search bounds on the upper limit of the DM-Standard Model coupling. From the analysis of the $3τ+ E^{miss}_T$ and $\ell\,τ+ E^{miss}_T$ channels for LHC at $\sqrt{s} = 13$ TeV, we show that one ensures the presence of the mixing parameter between the dark sector particles of the theory by looking at the peak and tail positions of the kinematic distributions. Even with a tweak in the values of other free parameters within the viable parameter region, the distinct peak and tail positions of the kinematic distributions remains a constant feature of the model. While both the channels present us the opportunity to detect the mixing signature at the LHC/HL-LHC, the former gives better results in terms of a larger region of mixing parameter. From the fiducial cross section, the projected statistical significance for the integrated luminosity, ${\mathscr L} = 3~\text{ab}^{-1}$, are shown for a combined parameter region obeying all the existing constraints, where there is the best possibility to detect such a signature.

Multilepton signatures for scalar dark matter searches in coannihilation scenario

We revisit the scalar singlet dark matter (DM) scenario with a pair of dark lepton partners which form a vectorlike Dirac fermionic doublet. The extra doublet couples with the Standard Model (SM) leptonic doublet and the scalar singlet via a non-SM-like Yukawa structure. As a result, (i) since the extra fermionic states interact with other dark sector particles as well as the SM via gauge and Yukawa interactions, it gives rise to new DM annihilation processes including pair annihilation as well as coannihilation channels, and (ii) such a Yukawa structure opens up new production channels for leptonic final states giving much enhancement in cross sections to search for dark matter in the LHC. Using suitable kinematic observables, we train a {\em boosted decision tree} (BDT) classifier to separate enhanced but still feeble light leptonic signals from the background in an effective manner. On the other hand, the same technique is applied to study $τ$-tagged jets in the search for DM signals.

Neural Fair Collaborative Filtering

A growing proportion of human interactions are digitized on social media platforms and subjected to algorithmic decision-making, and it has become increasingly important to ensure fair treatment from these algorithms. In this work, we investigate gender bias in collaborative-filtering recommender systems trained on social media data. We develop neural fair collaborative filtering (NFCF), a practical framework for mitigating gender bias in recommending sensitive items (e.g. jobs, academic concentrations, or courses of study) using a pre-training and fine-tuning approach to neural collaborative filtering, augmented with bias correction techniques. We show the utility of our methods for gender de-biased career and college major recommendations on the MovieLens dataset and a Facebook dataset, respectively, and achieve better performance and fairer behavior than several state-of-the-art models.

Differential cross section for the Higgs boson production in 4-lepton channel and $k_T$-factorization

We present our study of the differential cross section for the Higgs boson production in $k_T$-factorization framework. The $k_T$-factorization formalism includes a convolution over unintegrated parton distribution functions (uPDF) and off-shell parton level matrix element. The off-shell matrix element calculated considering initial gluons to be off-shell. We have considered only gluon fusion process which is dominant production mechanism for the Higgs boson production at LHC. We have used Ciafaloni-Catani-Fiorani-Marchesini (CCFM) uPDF based on CCFM evolution equations. We have compared our results with fixed order estimates up to NNLO+NNLL obtained using HRes tool within collinear factorization framework as well as with the ATLAS and CMS measurements of the corresponding differential distributions. This study will play an important role in understanding differential cross section within $k_T$-factorization framework.

Investigating Unitarity in Presence of Anomalous Couplings

We perform a model independent analysis of the helicity amplitudes at high energy for all the $2\to2$ scattering processes involving gauge and Higgs bosons in the presence of anomalous $WWV$, $WWVV$, $VVH$, $VVHH$ ($V\equiv Z,γ$ and $W^\pm$), $HHHH$ and $HHH$ interactions. We obtain the perturbative unitarity constraints on anomalous couplings by demanding the vanishing of terms proportional to $s^2$ and $s^{3/2}$ in the helicity amplitudes. Using these constraints, we also compute the upper bound on all the anomalous couplings from terms linear in $s$. Further, assuming all anomalous couplings to have arisen only from dimension six operators, we show that the perturbative unitarity violation can be evaded up to $\sim$ 9 TeV corresponding to the best fit values of $f_{WW}/Λ^2$ and $f_{BB}/Λ^2$ from the combined analysis of Tevatron and LHC data.

Probing anomalous couplings using di-Higgs production in electron-proton collisions

A proposed high energy Future Circular Hadron-Electron Collider would provide sufficient energy in a clean environment to probe di-Higgs production. Using this channel we show that the azimuthal angle correlation between the missing transverse energy and the forward jet is a very good probe for the non-standard $hhh$ and $hhWW$ couplings. We give the exclusion limits on these couplings as a function of integrated luminosity at a $95$\% C.L. using the fiducial cross sections. With appropriate error fitting methodology we find that the Higgs boson self coupling could be measured to be $g^{(1)}_{hhh} = 1.00^{+0.24(0.14)}_{-0.17(0.12)}$ of its expected Standard Model value at $\sqrt s = 3.5(5.0)$ TeV for an ultimate 10 ab$^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity.

Anomalous Higgs Couplings as a Window to New Physics

The initial data on the production and decay of the Higgs boson reported significant deviations from the Standard Model (SM) expectations, prompting much speculation about its couplings to the other particles. Although the latest data has veered towards conformity with the SM, there is yet room for a sizable deviation from the SM values of the coupling of the Higgs boson with $t\bar{t}$, and to a smaller extent, of that with $W^+W^-$ and $ZZ$. Keeping the fluid nature of the data in mind, this opens up an interesting avenue to explore regarding unitarity of gauge boson scattering and the stability of the electroweak vacuum in the presence of anomalous couplings. We show that, for some typical benchmark points, unitarity in gauge boson scattering breaks down between 1 and 10 TeV. We also show that if there are no new light degrees of freedom, the Higgs quartic coupling becomes negative at around the same point, making the electroweak vacuum unstable. Thus, some new ultraviolet completing new physics is demanded at that scale to cancel both these anomalous behaviours if such deviations from the SM couplings are indeed established.

Constraining Unparticles from Top Physics at TeVatron

We study and analyze the recent observations of the top pair production $σ(p\bar p\to t \bar t)$ at TeVatron through flavor conserving and flavor violating channels ${\it via}$ vector and tensor unparticles. The unparticle sector is considered with the possibility of being a color singlet or octet. The modified unparticle propagator is used to investigate the contribution of these unparticles to the observed $A_{FB}^{t\bar t}$ (forward backward asymmetry in top pair production) and the spin correlation at TeVatron. We have also studied the impact of the flavor violating couplings of unparticles to the third generation quarks on (a) pair production of same sign tops/antitops $σ(p\bar p\to tt+\bar t \bar t)$ at TeVatron and (b) the partial top decay width for $Γ_{\cal U}(t\to u\,{\cal U}^V)$. We find that a large region of parameter space is consistent with the measurements of \tt production cross-section, \afbt and spin correlation coefficient at TeVatron and observe that the top decay width measurement constrains the flavor violating coupling of vector unparticles more severely than the same sign top/antitop production at TeVatron. We also predict the best point-set in the model parameter space for specific choices of \du corresponding to $χ^2_{\rm min}$ evaluated using the \mttb spectrum of \afbt from the data set of Run II of TeVatron at the integrated luminosity 8.7 fb$^{-1}$. Our results and analysis are consistent even with unparticle theories having broken scale invariance as long as the infrared cut-off scale is much less than the top pair production threshold.
