Characterizing nonclassical correlations of tensorizing states in a bilocal scenario

In the present paper, we attempt to address the question of "can tensorizing states have quantum advantages?". To answer this question, we exploit the notion of measurement-induced nonlocality (MIN) and advocate a fidelity based nonbilocal measure to capture the nonlocal effects of tensorizing states due to locally invariant von Neumann projective measurements. We show that the properties of the fidelity based nonbilocal measure are retrieved from that of MIN. Analytically, we evaluate the nonbilocal measure for any arbitrary pure state. The upper bounds of the nonbilocal measure based on fidelity are also obtained in terms of eigenvalues of correlation matrix. As an illustration, we have computed the nonbilocality for some popular input states.

Stability Window of Trapless Polariton Bose-Einstein condensates

We theoretically explore the possibility of stabilizing the trapless polariton Bose-Einstein condensates (pBECs). Exploiting the variational method, we solve the associated nonlinear, complex Gross-Pitaevskii (cGP) equation and derive the equation of motion for the amplitude and width of the condensate. These variational results described by ordinary differential equations are rewritten to perform a linear stability analysis to generate a stability window in the repulsive domain. A set of coupled nonlinear ordinary differential equations obtained through variational approach are then solved by numerical simulations through the fourth order Runge-Kutta method, which are further supported by split-step Crank-Nicholson method, thereby setting the platform for stable pBECs. In particular, we generate a window containing system parameters in the $g_1-γ_{eff}$ space within which the system can admit stable condensates. The highlight of the results is that one observes beating effects in the real time evolution of the condensates with attractive interactions much similar to multicomponent BECs, and their periodicity can be varied by manipulating linear and nonlinear loss/gain terms. For repulsive condensates, one notices the stretching of the density.

Faraday and resonant waves in binary collisionally-inhomogeneous Bose-Einstein condensates

We study Faraday and resonant waves in two-component quasi-one-dimensional (cigar-shaped) collisionally inhomogeneous Bose-Einstein condensates subject to periodic modulation of the radial confinement. We show by means of extensive numerical simulations that, as the system exhibits stronger spatially-localised binary collisions (whose scattering length is taken for convenience to be of Gaussian form), the system becomes effectively a linear one. In other words, as the scattering length approaches a delta-function, we observe that the two nonlinear configurations typical for binary cigar-shaped condensates, namely the segregated and the symbiotic one, turn into two overlapping Gaussian wave functions typical for linear systems, and that the instability onset times of the Faraday and resonant waves become longer. Moreover, our numerical simulations show that the spatial period of the excited waves (either resonant or Faraday ones) decreases as the inhomogeneity becomes stronger. Our results also demonstrate that the topology of the ground state impacts the dynamics of the ensuing density waves, and that the instability onset times of Faraday and resonant waves, for a given level of inhomogeneity in the two-body interactions, depend on whether the initial configuration is segregated or symbiotic.

Manipulation of light in a generalized coupled Nonlinear Schrodinger equation

We investigate a generalized coupled nonlinear Schrodinger (GCNLS) equation containing Self-Phase Modulation (SPM), Cross-Phase Modulation (XPM) and Four Wave Mixing (FWM) describing the propagation of electromagnetic radiation through an optical fibre and generate the associated Lax-pair. We then construct bright solitons employing gauge transformation approach. The collisional dynamics of bright solitons indicates that it is not only possible to manipulate intensity (energy) between the two modes (optical beams), but also within a given mode unlike the Manakov model which does not have the same freedom. The freedom to manipulate intensity (energy) in a given mode or between two modes arises due to a suitable combination of SPM, XPM and FWM.While SPM and XPM are controlled by an arbitrary real parameter each, FWM is governed by two arbitrary complex parameters. The above model may have wider ramifications in nonlinear optics and Bose-Einstein Condensates (BECs).

An Analytical Window into the World of Ultracold Atoms

We review the recent developments which had taken place in the domain of quasi one dimensional BECs from the viewpoint of integrability. To start with, we consider the dynamics of scalar BECs in a time independent harmonic trap and observe that the scattering length (SL) can be suitably manipulated either to compress the bright solitons to attain peak matter wave density without causing their explosion or to broaden the width of the condensates without diluting them. When the harmonic trap frequency becomes time dependent, we notice that one can stabilize the condensates in the confining domain while the density of the condensates continue to increase in the expulsive region. We also observe that the trap frequency and the temporal SL can be maneuvered to generate matter wave interference patterns indicating the coherent nature of the atoms in the condensates. We also notice that a small repulsive three body interaction when reinforced with attractive binary interaction can extend the region of stability of the condensates in the quasi-one dimensional regime. On the other hand, the investigation of two component BECs in a time dependent harmonic trap suggests that it is possible to switch matter wave energy from one mode to the other confirming the fact that vector BECs are long lived compared to scalar BECs. The Feshbach resonance management of vector BECs indicates that the two component BECs in a time dependent harmonic trap are more stable compared to the condensates in a time independent trap. The introduction of weak time dependent Rabi coupling rapidly compresses the bright solitons which however can be again stabilized through Feshbach resonance or by finetuning the Rabi coupling while the spatial coupling of vector BECs introduces a phase difference between the condensates which subsequently can be exploited to generate interference pattern in the bright or dark solitons.

Engineering Bright Solitons to Enhance the Stability of Two-Component Bose-Einstein Condensates

We consider a system of coupled Gross-Pitaevskii (GP) equations describing a binary quasi-one-dimensional Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) with intrinsic time-dependent attractive interactions, placed in a time-dependent expulsive parabolic potential, in a special case when the system is integrable (a deformed Manakov's system). Since the nonlinearity in the integrable system which represents binary attractive interactions exponentially decays with time, solitons are also subject to decay. Nevertheless, it is shown that the robustness of bright solitons can be enhanced in this system, making their respective lifetime longer, by matching the time dependence of the interaction strength (adjusted with the help of the Feshbach-resonance management) to the time modulation of the strength of the parabolic potential. The analytical results, and their stability, are corroborated by numerical simulations. In particular, we demonstrate that the addition of random noise does not impact the stability of the solitons.

Generalized gauge transformation approach to construct dark solitons of coupled nonlinear Schrodinger type equations

We harness the freedom in the celebrated gauge transformation approach to generate dark solitons of coupled nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) type equations. The new approach which is purely algebraic could prove to be very useful, particularly in the construction of vector dark solitons in the fields of nonlinear optics, plasma physics and Bose-Einstein condensates. We have employed this algebraic method to coupled Gross- Pitaevskii (GP) and NLS equations and obtained dark solitons.

Persistent bright solitons in sign-indefinite coupled nonlinear Schrodinger equations with a time-dependent harmonic trap

We introduce a model based on a system of coupled nonlinear Schrodinger (NLS) equations with opposite signs infront of the kinetic and gradient terms in the two equations. It also includes time-dependent nonlinearity coefficients and a parabolic expulsive potential. By means of a gauge transformation, we demonstrate that, with a special choice of the time dependence of the trap, the system gives rise to persistent solitons. Exact single and two-soliton analytical solutions and their stability are corroborated by numerical simulations. In particular, the exact solutions exhibit inelastic collisions between solitons.

Separation of zeros and a Hermite interpolation based frame algorithm for band limited functions

It is shown that if a non-zero function $f\in B_σ$ has infinitely many double zeros on the real axis, then there exists at least one pair of consecutive zeros whose distance apart is greater than $\dfracπστ^{1/4}$, $τ\approx5.0625$. A frame algorithm is provided for reconstructing a function $f\in B_σ$ from its nonuniform samples $\{f^{(j)}(x_i):j=0,1,\dots, k-1, i\in\mathbb{Z}\}$ with maximum gap condition, $\sup\limits_i(x_{i+1}-x_i)=δ<\dfrac{1}σc_k^{1/2k}$, where $c_k$ is a Wirtinger-Sobolev constant, using Hermite interpolation.

Stable multiple vortices in collisionally inhomogeneous attractive Bose-Einstein condensates

We study stability of solitary vortices in the two-dimensional trapped Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) with a spatially localized region of self-attraction. Solving the respective Bogoliubov-de Gennes equations and running direct simulations of the underlying Gross-Pitaevskii equation reveals that vortices with topological charge up to S = 6 (at least) are stable above a critical value of the chemical potential (i.e., below a critical number of atoms, which sharply increases with S). The largest nonlinearity-localization radius admitting the stabilization of the higher-order vortices is estimated analytically and accurately identified in a numerical form. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first example of a setting which gives rise to stable higher-order vortices, S > 1, in a trapped self-attractive BEC. The same setting may be realized in nonlinear optics too.

Collisionally inhomogeneous Bose-Einstein condensates with binary and three body interactions in a bichromatic optical lattice

We study the impact of collisionally inhomogeneous binary and three body interaction on Bose-Einstein condensates (BECs) of a dilute gas in a bichromatic optical lattice. We observe that the localized matter wave density which decreases after the introduction of repulsive spatially inhomogeneous binary interaction can be sustained by the addition of constant attractive binary strength in equal amounts. If the balance between repulsive spatially inhomogeneous binary interaction and constant attractive interaction is disturbed, the condensates collapse. Reversal of sign of interaction ensures the longevity of BECs. Any imbalance between attractive spatially inhomogeneous interaction and constant repulsive interaction either results in the collapse of BECs or in the occupation of the condensates at multiple sites on either sides. The introduction of a weak three body interaction in phase with the binary interaction increases the extent of instability of BECs. Reversing the sign of spatially inhomogeneous and constant interaction enhances the stability of BECs.

Rotation of the Trajectories of Bright soliton and Realignment of Intensity Distribution in the Coupled Nonlinear Schrodinger Equation

We revisit the collisional dynamics of bright solitons in the coupled Nonlinear Schrodinger equation. We observe that apart from the intensity redistribution in the interaction of bright solitons, one also witnesses a rotation of the trajectories of bright solitons . The angle of rotation can be varied by suitably manipulating the Self-Phase Modulation (SPM) or Cross Phase Modulation (XPM) parameters. The rotation of the trajectories of the bright solitons arises due to the excess energy that is injected into the dynamical system through SPM or XPM. This extra energy not only contributes to the rotation of the trajectories, but also to the realignment of intensity distribution between the two modes. We also notice that the angular separation between the bright solitons can also manouvred suitably. The above results which exclude quantum superposition for the field vectors may have wider ramifications in nonlinear optics, Bose-Einstein condensates, Left Handed (LH) and Right Handed (RH) meta materials.

Spatiotemporal Binary Interaction and Designer quasi particle condensates

We introduce a new integrable model to investigate the dynamics of two component quasi particle condensates with spatio temporal interaction strengths. We derive the associated Lax-pair of the coupled GP equation and construct matter wave solitons. We show that the spatio temporal binary interaction strengths not only facilitate the stabilization of the condensates, but also enables one to fabricate condensates with desirable densities, geometries and properties leading to the so called "designer quasi particle condensates".

Taming Rogue waves in Vector BECs

Using Gauge transformation method, we generate rogue waves for the two component Bose Einstein Condensates (BECs) governed by the symmetric coupled Gross-Pitaevskii (GP) equations and study their dynamics. We also suggest a mechanism to tame the rogue waves either by manipulating the scattering length through Feshbach resonance or the trapping frequency, a new phenomenon not witnessed in the domain of BEC, we believe that these results may have wider ramifications in the management of rogons.

Controlled Split-Recombination of 2D Matter-Wave Solitons in Time-Dependent Trap

We propose a novel approach to manipulate two-dimensional bright matter-wave solitons by tuning the frequency of the trap which is different from Feshbach resonance technique. The exact bright soliton solutions for two-dimensional Gross-Pitaevskii (GP) equation with attractive interaction strength in a time-dependent trap are constructed analytically and its dynamics show no collapse while modulating the trap frequency. The two-soliton dynamics exhibits an interesting splitting and recombination phenomenon which generates interference pattern in the process. This type of behaviour in two-dimensional BECs has wider ramifications and our approach opens new avenues in stabilizing bright solitons in higher dimensional regime. We have also explored the experimental realization of this novel phenomenon.
