On Liouiville Type Theorem for the 3D Isentropic Navier-Stokes System without D-condition

In this paper, we establish Liouville-type theorems for the steady compressible Navier-Stokes system. Assuming a smooth solution \(u \in L^p(\mathbb{R}^3)\), \(3 \le p \le \frac{9}{2}\), with bounded density, one obtains \(u \equiv0\). This generalizes the result of Li-Yu \cite{Li-Yu} by removing the Dirichlet condition \(\int_{\mathbb{R}^3} |\nabla u|^2 \, dx < \infty\). If \(\frac{9}{2} < p < 6\), Liouville-type theorem holds under the additional oscillation condition for momentum \(ρu \in \dot{B}^{\frac{3}{p} - \frac{3}{2}}_{\infty,\infty}(\mathbb{R}^3)\). For the marginal case \(u \in L^6(\mathbb{R}^3)\), the oscillation condition can be replaced by \(ρu \in BMO^{-1}(\mathbb{R}^3)\). We also present results in Morrey-type spaces: \(u \in \dot{M}^{s,6}(\mathbb{R}^3)\) and \(ρu \in \dot{M}_w^{q,3}(\mathbb{R}^3)\) for \(2 \le s \le 6\) and \(\frac{3}{2} < q \le 3\).

An Extension of Calder$\acute{\rm O}$n-Zygmund type singular integral

In this paper, we consider a kind of singular integral which can be viewed as an extension of the classical Calder$\acute{\rm o}$n-Zygmund type singular integral. We establish an estimate of the singular integral in the $L^q$ space for $1<q<\infty$. In particular, the Calder$\acute{\rm o}$n-Zygmund estimate can be recovered from our obtained estimate. The proof of our main result is via the so called "geometric approach", which was applied in \cite{CP} on the $L^q$ estimate of the elliptic equations and in \cite{LW,Wang} on a new proof of the the Calder$\acute{\rm o}$n-Zygmund estimate.

Leray's backward self-similar solutions to the 3D Navier-Stokes equations in Morrey spaces

In this paper, it is shown that there does not exist a non-trivial Leray's backward self-similar solution to the 3D Navier-Stokes equations with profiles in Morrey spaces $\dot{\mathcal{M}}^{q,1}(\mathbb{R}^{3})$ provided $3/2<q<6$, or in $\dot{\mathcal{M}}^{q,l}(\mathbb{R}^{3})$ provided $6\leq q<\infty$ and $2<l\leq q$. This generalizes the corresponding results obtained by Nečas-Råužička-Šverák [19, Acta.Math. 176 (1996)] in $L^{3}(\mathbb{R}^{3})$, Tsai [25, Arch. Ration. Mech. Anal. 143 (1998)] in $L^{p}(\mathbb{R}^{3})$ with $p\geq3$,, Chae-Wolf [3, Arch. Ration. Mech. Anal. 225 (2017)] in Lorentz spaces $L^{p,\infty}(\mathbb{R}^{3})$ with $p>3/2$, and Guevara-Phuc [11, SIAM J. Math. Anal. 12 (2018)] in $\dot{\mathcal{M}}^{q,\frac{12-2q}{3}}(\mathbb{R}^{3})$ with $12/5\leq q<3$ and in $L^{q, \infty}(\mathbb{R}^3)$ with $12/5\leq q<6$.

Global well-posedness for axisymmetric MHD system with only vertical viscosity

In this paper, we are concerned with the global well-posedness of a tri-dimensional MHD system with only vertical viscosity in velocity equation for the large axisymmetric initial data. By making good use of the axisymmetric structure of flow and the maximal smoothing effect of vertical diffusion, we show that $\displaystyle\sup_{2\leq p<\infty}\int_0^t\frac{\|\partial_{z}u(τ)\|_{L^p}^{2}}{p^{3/4}}\,\mathrm{d}τ<\infty$. With this regularity for the vertical first derivative of velocity vector field, we further establish losing estimates for the anisotropy tri-dimensional MHD system to get the high regularity of $(u,b)$, which guarantees that $\int_0^t\|\nabla u(τ)\|_{L^\infty}\,\mathrm{d}τ<\infty$. This together with the classical commutator estimate entails the global regularity of a smooth solution.

On Liouville Type of Theorems to the 3-D Incompressible Axisymmetric Navier-Stokes Equations

Liouville type of theorems play a key role in the blow-up approach to study the global regularity of the three-dimensional Navier-Stokes equations. In this paper, we will prove Liouville type of theorems to the 3-D axisymmetric Navier-Stokes equations with swirls under some suitable assumptions on swirl component velocity $u_θ$ which are scaling invariant. It is known that $ru_θ$ satisfies the maximum principle. The assumptions on $u_θ$ will be natural and useful to make further studies on the global regularity to the three-dimensional incompressible axisymmetric Navier-Stokes equations.

Well-Posedness of the Limiting Equation of a Noisy Consensus Model in Opinion Dynamics

This paper establishes the global well-posedness of the nonlinear Fokker-Planck equation for a noisy version of the Hegselmann-Krause model. The equation captures the mean-field behavior of a classic multiagent system for opinion dynamics. We prove the global existence, uniqueness, nonnegativity and regularity of the weak solution. We also exhibit a global stability condition, which delineates a forbidden region for consensus formation. This is the first nonlinear stability result derived for the Hegselmann-Krause model.

Decay of solutions to the three-dimensional generalized Navier-Stokes equations

In this paper, we first obtain the temporal decay estimates for weak solutions to the three dimensional generalized Navier-Stokes equations. Then, with these estimates at disposal, we obtain the temporal decay estimates for higher order derivatives of the smooth solution with small initial data. The decay rates are optimal in the sense that they coincides with ones of the corresponding generalized heat equation. These results improve the previous known results to the classical Navier-Stokes equations.

On possible time singular points and eventual regularity of weak solutions to the fractional Navier-Stokes equations

In this paper, we intend to reveal how the fractional dissipation $(-Δ)^α$ affects the regularity of weak solutions to the 3d generalized Navier-Stokes equations. Precisely, it will be shown that the $(5-4α)/2α$ dimensional Hausdorff measure of possible time singular points of weak solutions on the interval $(0,\infty)$ is zero when $5/6\leα< 5/4$. To this end, the eventual regularity for the weak solutions is firstly established in the same range of $α$. It is worth noting that when the dissipation index $α$ varies from $5/6$ to $ 5/4$, the corresponding Hausdorff dimension is from $1$ to $0$. Hence, it seems that the Hausdorff dimension obtained is optimal. Our results rely on the fact that the space $H^α$ is the critical space or subcritical space to this system when $α\geq5/6$.

A Remark On Global Regularity of 2D Generalized Magnetohydrodynamic Equations

In this paper we study the global regularity of the following 2D (two-dimensional) generalized magnetohydrodynamic equations \begin{eqnarray*} \left\{\begin{array}{llll} u_t + u \cdot \nabla u & = & - \nabla p + b \cdot \nabla b - ν(-\triangle)^α u b_t + u \cdot \nabla b & = & b \cdot \nabla u - κ(-\triangle)^β b \end{array}\right. \end{eqnarray*} and get global regular solutions when $ 0\leqslantα< 1 / 2,\,\, β\geqslant 1, \,\,3α+ 2β>3 $, which improves the results in \cite{TYZ2013}. In particular, we obtain the global regularity of the 2D generalized MHD when $α=0$ and $β>\frac 32$.

Global classical solution of the Cauchy problem to 1D compressible Navier-Stokes equations with large initial data

In this paper, we prove that the 1D Cauchy problem of the compressible Navier-Stokes equations admits a unique global classical solution $(ρ,\rm u)$ if the viscosity $μ(ρ)=1+ρ^β$ with $β\geq0$. The initial data can be arbitrarily large and may contain vacuum. Some new weighted estimates of the density and velocity are obtained when deriving higher order estimates of the solution.

Remarks on Blow-up of Smooth Solutions to the Compressible Fluid with Constant and Degenerate Viscosities

In this paper, we will show the blow-up of smooth solutions to the Cauchy problem for the full compressible Navier-Stokes equations and isentropic compressible Navier-Stokes equations with constant and degenerate viscosities in arbitrary dimensions under some restrictions on the initial data. In particular, the results hold true for the full compressible Euler equations and isentropic compressible Euler equations and the blow-up time can be computed in a more precise way. It is not required that the initial data has compact support or contain vacuum in any finite regions. Moreover, a simplified and unified proof on the blow-up results to the classical solutions of the full compressible Navier-Stokes equations without heat conduction by Xin \cite{Xin} and with heat conduction by Cho-Bin \cite{CJ} will be given.

Global classical solutions to the two-dimensional compressible Navier-Stokes equations in $\mathbb{R}^2$

In this paper, we prove the global well-posedness of the classical solution to the 2D Cauchy problem of the compressible Navier-Stokes equations with arbitrarily large initial data when the shear viscosity $μ$ is a positive constant and the bulk viscosity $ł(\r)=\r^\b$ with $\b>\frac43$. Here the initial density keeps a non-vacuum states $\barρ>0$ at far fields and our results generalize the ones by Vaigant-Kazhikhov [41] for the periodic problem and by Jiu-Wang-Xin [26] and Huang-Li [8] for the Cauchy problem with vacuum states $\barρ=0$ at far fields. It shows that the solution will not develop the vacuum states in any finite time provided the initial density is uniformly away from vacuum. And the results also hold true when the initial data contains vacuum states in a subset of $\mathbb{R}^2$ and the natural compatibility conditions are satisfied. Some new weighted estimates are obtained to establish the upper bound of the density.

Global well-posedness of 2D compressible Navier-Stokes equations with large data and vacuum

In this paper, we study the global well-posedness of the 2D compressible Navier-Stokes equations with large initial data and vacuum. It is proved that if the shear viscosity $μ$ is a positive constant and the bulk viscosity $ł$ is the power function of the density, that is, $ł(\r)=\r^\b$ with $\b>3$, then the 2D compressible Navier-Stokes equations with the periodic boundary conditions on the torus $\mathbb{T}^2$ admit a unique global classical solution $(\r,u)$ which may contain vacuums in an open set of $\mathbb{T}^2$. Note that the initial data can be arbitrarily large to contain vacuum states.

Global well-posedness of the Cauchy problem of two-dimensional compressible Navier-Stokes equations in weighted spaces

In this paper, we study the global well-posedness of classical solution to 2D Cauchy problem of the compressible Navier-Stokes equations with large initial data and vacuum. It is proved that if the shear viscosity $μ$ is a positive constant and the bulk viscosity $λ$ is the power function of the density, that is, $λ(ρ)=ρ^β$ with $β>3$, then the 2D Cauchy problem of the compressible Navier-Stokes equations on the whole space $\mathbf{R}^2$ admit a unique global classical solution $(ρ,u)$ which may contain vacuums in an open set of $\mathbf{R}^2$. Note that the initial data can be arbitrarily large to contain vacuum states. Various weighted estimates of the density and velocity are obtained in this paper and these self-contained estimates reflect the fact that the weighted density and weighted velocity propagate along with the flow.

On One-dimensional Compressible Navier-Stokes Equations with Degenerate Viscosity and Constant State at Far fields

In this paper, we are concerned with the Cauchy problem for one-dimensional compressible isentropic Navier-Stokes equations with density-dependent viscosity $μ(ρ)=ρ^α(α>0)$ and pressure $P(ρ)=ρ^γ\ (γ>1)$. We will establish the global existence and asymptotic behavior of weak solutions for any $α>0$ and $γ>1$ under the assumption that the density function keeps a constant state at far fields. This enlarges the ranges of $α$ and $γ$ and improves the previous results presented by Jiu and Xin. As a result, in the case that $0<α<\frac12$, we obtain the large time behavior of the strong solution obtained by Mellet and Vasseur when the solution has a lower bound (no vacuum).

The 2D incompressible Boussinesq equations with general critical dissipation

This paper aims at the global regularity problem concerning the 2D incompressible Boussinesq equations with general critical dissipation. The critical dissipation refers to $α+β=1$ when $Λ^α\equiv (-Δ)^{\fracα{2}}$ and $Λ^β$ represent the fractional Laplacian dissipation in the velocity and the temperature equations, respectively. We establish the global regularity for the general case with $α+β=1$ and $0.9132\approx α_0<α<1$. The cases when $α=1$ and when $α=0$ were previously resolved by Hmidi, Keraani and Rousset \cite{HKR1,HKR2}. The global existence and uniqueness is achieved here by exploiting the global regularity of a generalized critical surface quasi-gesotrophic equation as well as the regularity of a combined quantity of the vorticity and the temperature.

Vacuum behaviors around rarefaction waves to 1D compressible Navier-Stokes equations with density-dependent viscosity

In this paper, we study the large time asymptotic behavior toward rarefaction waves for solutions to the 1-dimensional compressible Navier-Stokes equations with density-dependent viscosities for general initial data whose far fields are connected by a rarefaction wave to the corresponding Euler equations with one end state being vacuum. First, a global-in-time weak solution around the rarefaction wave is constructed by approximating the system and regularizing the initial data with general perturbations, and some a priori uniform-in-time estimates for the energy and entropy are obtained. Then it is shown that the density of any weak solution satisfying the natural energy and entropy estimates will converge to the rarefaction wave connected to vacuum with arbitrary strength in super-norm time-asymptotically. Our results imply, in particular, that the initial vacuum at far fields will remain for all the time which are in contrast to the case of non-vacuum rarefaction waves studied in \cite{JWX} where all the possible vacuum states will vanish in finite time. Finally, it is proved that the weak solution becomes regular away from the vacuum region of the rarefaction wave.

Vanishing viscosity limits for the degenerate lake equations with Navier boundary conditions

The paper is concerned with the vanishing viscosity limit of the two-dimensional degenerate viscous lake equations when the Navier slip conditions are prescribed on the impermeable boundary of a simply connected bounded regular domain. When the initial vorticity is in the Lebesgue space $L^q$ with $2<q\le\infty$, we show the degenerate viscous lake equations possess a unique global solution and the solution converges to a corresponding weak solution of the inviscid lake equations. In the special case when the vorticity is in $L^\infty$, an explicit convergence rate is obtained.

Inviscid Limit for Vortex Patches in A Bounded Domain

In this paper, we consider the inviscid limit of the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations in a smooth, bounded and simply connected domain $Ω\subset \mathbb{R}^d, d=2,3$. We prove that for a vortex patch initial data the weak Leray solutions of the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations with Navier boundary conditions will converge (locally in time for $d=3$ and globally in time for $d=2$) to a vortex patch solution of the incompressible Euler equation as the viscosity vanishes. In view of the results obtained in [1] and [19] which dealt with the case of the whole space, we derive an almost optimal convergence rate $(νt)^{\frac34-\varepsilon}$ for any small $\varepsilon>0$ in $L^2$.

Stability of Rarefaction Waves to the 1D Compressible Navier-Stokes Equations with Density-dependent Viscosity

In this paper, we study the asymptotic stability of rarefaction waves for the compressible isentropic Navier-Stokes equations with density-dependent viscosity. First, a weak solution around a rarefaction wave to the Cauchy problem is constructed by approximating the system and regularizing the initial values which may contain vacuum state. Then some global in time estimates on the weak solution are obtained. Based on these uniform estimates, the vacuum states are shown to vanish in finite time and the weak solution we constructed becomes a unique strong one. Consequently, the stability of the rarefaction wave is proved in a weak sense. The theory holds for large-amplitudes rarefaction waves and arbitrary initial perturbations.
