Operator growth and Krylov Complexity in Bose-Hubbard Model

We study Krylov complexity of a one-dimensional Bosonic system, the celebrated Bose-Hubbard Model. The Bose-Hubbard Hamiltonian consists of interacting bosons on a lattice, describing ultra-cold atoms. Apart from showing superfluid-Mott insulator phase transition, the model also exhibits both chaotic and integrable (mixed) dynamics depending on the value of the interaction parameter. We focus on the three-site Bose Hubbard Model (with different particle numbers), which is known to be highly mixed. We use the Lanczos algorithm to find the Lanczos coefficients and the Krylov basis. The orthonormal Krylov basis captures the operator growth for a system with a given Hamiltonian. However, the Lanczos algorithm needs to be modified for our case due to the instabilities instilled by the piling up of computational errors. Next, we compute the Krylov complexity and its early and late-time behaviour. Our results capture the chaotic and integrable nature of the system. Our paper takes the first step to use the Lanczos algorithm non-perturbatively for a discrete quartic bosonic Hamiltonian without depending on the auto-correlation method.

Carrollian superconformal theories and super BMS

We investigate the supersymmetric versions of Bondi-Metzner-Sachs or, equivalently, conformal Carroll symmetry in boundary dimensions $d>3$, with applications of flat space holography in mind. We identify the contraction of the relativistic symmetry relevant for our purposes and construct a finite-dimensional Carrollian superconformal algebra (CSA) before proposing an infinite-dimensional lift. We provide the superspace formulation for $\mathcal{N}=1$ CSA and work towards an understanding of the representation theory of the algebra. We conclude with some aspects of $\mathcal{N}>1$ CSA.

Field Theories on Null Manifolds

We argue that generic field theories defined on null manifolds should have an emergent BMS or conformal Carrollian structure. We then focus on a simple interacting conformal Carrollian theory, viz. Carrollian scalar electrodynamics. We look at weak (on-shell) and strong invariance (off-shell) of its equations of motion under conformal Carrollian symmetries. Helmholtz conditions are necessary and sufficient conditions for a set of equations to arise from a Lagrangian. We investigate whether the equations of motion of Carrollian scalar electrodynamics satisfy these conditions. Then we proposed an action for the electric sector of the theory. This action is the first example for an interacting conformal Carrollian Field Theory. The proposed action respects the finite and infinite conformal Carrollian symmetries in d = 4. We calculate conserved charges corresponding to these finite and infinite symmetries and then rewrite the conserved charges in terms of the canonical variables. We finally compute the Poisson brackets for these charges and confirm that infinite Carrollian conformal algebra is satisfied at the level of charges.

Thermodynamic geometry of holographic superconductors

We obtain the thermodynamic geometry of a (2+1) dimensional strongly coupled quantum field theory at a finite temperature in a holographic set up, through the gauge/gravity correspondence. The bulk dual gravitational theory is described by a (3+1) dimensional charged AdS black hole in the presence of a massive charged scalar field. The holographic free energy of the (2+1) dimensional strongly coupled boundary field theory is computed analytically through the bulk boundary correspondence. The thermodynamic metric and the corresponding scalar curvature is then obtained from the holographic free energy. The thermodynamic scalar curvature characterizes the superconducting phase transition of the boundary field theory.
