A possible NN*(1440) quasi-molecular state

Inspired by the recent observation of a narrow resonance-like structure around 2360 MeV in the p+n to d + π0 + π0 cross section, the possibility of forming a NN*(1440) quasi-molecular state is investigated by using a meson exchange model in which the π, σ, ρ and ω exchanges in t- and u-channels are considered. By adopting the coupling constants extracted from the relevant NN scattering and N*(1440) decay data, it is found that a deuteron-like quasi-molecular state of NN*(1440) with a binding energy in the range of from 2 to 67MeV can be formed. Therefore, it is speculated that the observed structure around 2360 MeV might be or may have a large component of the NN*(1440) quasi-molecular state.

Baryonium

In the framework of the heavy baryon perturbation theory, in which the two-pion exchange is considered, the physical properties of heavy-baryon-anti-heavy-baryon systems are revisited. The potentials between heavy-baryon and anti-heavy-baryon are extracted in a holonomic form. Based on the extracted potentials, the s-wave scattering phase shifts and scattering lengths of ΛcΛ_c-Λˉc\barΛ_c and ΣcΣ_c-Σˉc\barΣ_c are calculated. From these scattering features, it is found that the ΛcΛ_c-Λˉc\barΛ_c system can be bound only when the value of the coupling constant g2g_2 is larger than that from the decay data of the Σc(Σc∗)→ΛcπΣ_c(Σ_c^*) \to Λ_c π process. The binding condition for the ΣcΣ_c-Σˉc\barΣ_c system is also examined. The binding possibilities of these systems deduced from the scattering calculations are also checked by the bound state calculation and the binding energies are obtained if the system can be really bound. The binding possibility of the ΛbΛ_b-Λˉb\barΛ_b system is investigated as well.

J/ψ→ppˉϕJ/ψ\rightarrow p\bar{p}ϕ decay in the isobar resonance model

Based on the effective Lagrangian approach, the J/ψ→ppˉϕ J/ψ\to p \bar{p} ϕ decay is studied in an isobar resonance model with the assumption that the ϕϕ-meson is produced from intermediate nucleon resonances. The contributions from the N1/2−∗(1535)N^*_{1/2^-}(1535), N3/2+∗(1900)N^*_{3/2^+}(1900), N1/2−∗(2090)N^*_{1/2^-}(2090) and N1/2+∗(2100)N^*_{1/2^+}(2100) states are considered. In terms of the coupling constants gϕNN∗2g^{2}_{ϕN N^{*}} and gϕNN∗2g^{2}_{ϕN N^{*}} extracted from the data of the partial decay widths of the N∗N^*s to the NπNπ channel, the reaction cross section of the π−p→nϕπ^{-}p\rightarrow nϕ process and the partial decay widths of the J/ψ→ppˉηJ/ψ\rightarrow p\bar{p}η and J/ψ→pnˉπ−J/ψ\rightarrow p\bar{n}π^{-} processes, respectively, the invariant mass spectrum and the Dalitz plot for J/ψ→ppˉϕ J/ψ\to p \bar{p} ϕ are predicted. It is shown that there are two types of results. In the type I case, a large peak structure around 2.09GeV implies that a considerable mount of NϕNϕ or qqqssˉqqqs\bar s component may exist in the narrow-width N1/2−∗(2090)N^*_{1/2^-}(2090) state, but for the wide-width N1/2+∗(2100)N^*_{1/2^+}(2100) state, it has little qqqssˉqqqs\bar s component. In the type II case, a small peak around 2.11GeV may only indicate the existence of a certain mount of pϕpϕ or qqqssˉqqqs\bar s component in the narrow-width N1/2+∗(2100)N^*_{1/2^+}(2100) state, but no information for the wide-width N1/2−∗(2090)N^*_{1/2^-}(2090) state. Further BESIII data with high statistics would help us to distinguish the strange structures of these N∗N^*s.

Testing the Bell Inequality at Experiments of High Energy Physics

Besides using the laser beam, it is very tempting to directly testify the Bell inequality at high energy experiments where the spin correlation is exactly what the original Bell inequality investigates. In this work, we follow the proposal raised in literature and use the successive decays J/ψ→γηc→ΛΛˉ→pπ−pˉπ+J/ψ\toγη_c\to Λ\barΛ\to pπ^-\bar pπ^+ to testify the Bell inequality. Our goal is twofold, namely, we first make a Monte-Carlo simulation of the processes based on the quantum field theory (QFT). Since the underlying theory is QFT, it implies that we pre-admit the validity of quantum picture. Even though the QFT is true, we need to find how big the database should be, so that we can clearly show deviations of the correlation from the Bell inequality determined by the local hidden variable theory. There have been some critiques on the proposed method, so in the second part, we suggest some improvements which may help to remedy the ambiguities indicated by the critiques. It may be realized at an updated facility of high energy physics, such as BES III.

Study on Strong Decays of DsJ(2632)D_{sJ}(2632)

The resonance DsJ(2632)D_{sJ}(2632) observed by SELEX, has attracted great interests and meanwhile brought up serious dispute. Its spin-parity, so far has not finally determined and if it exists, its quark-structure might be exotic. Following the previous literature where DsJ(2632)D_{sJ}(2632) is assumed to be a radial-excited state of 1−1^-, we consider the possibilities that it might be a qqˉq\bar q ground state of 2+2^+ or the first radial-excited state of 0+0^+ DsJ(2317)D_{sJ}(2317) and re-calculate its strong decay widths in terms of the Bethe-Salpeter equation. Our results indicate that there still is a sharp discrepancy between the theoretical evaluation and data.

Study on the Form Factors at Effective Vertices of Diqarks Interacting with Gauge Bosons

The diquark structure in baryons is commonly accepted as a reasonable approximation which can much simplify the picture and reduce the length of calculations. However, a diquark by no means is a point-like particle, even though it is treated as a whole object. Therefore, to apply the diquark picture to the phenomenological calculations, at the effective vertices for the diquark-gauge boson interactions, suitable form factors must be introduced to compensate the effects caused by the inner structure of the diquark. It is crucial to derive the appropriate form factors for various interactions. In this work, we use the Bethe-Salpeter equation to derive such form factors and numerically evaluate their magnitudes.

Evaluation of Spectra of Baryons Containing Two Heavy Quarks in Bag Model

In this work, we evaluate the energy spectra of baryons which consist of two heavy and one light quarks in the MIT bag model. The two heavy quarks constitute a heavy scalar or axial vector diquark. Concretely, we calculate the spectra of ∣q(QQ′)>1/2|q(QQ')>_{1/2} and ∣q(QQ′)>3/2|q(QQ')>_{3/2} where QQ and Q′Q' stand for bb and/or cc quarks. Especially, for ∣q(bc)>1/2|q(bc)>_{1/2} there can be a mixing between ∣q(bc)0>1/2|q(bc)_0>_{1/2} and ∣q(bc)1>1/2|q(bc)_1>_{1/2} where the subscripts 0 and 1 refer to the spin state of the diquark (bc), the mixing is not calculable in the framework of quantum mechanics (QM) as the potential model is employed, but can be evaluated by the quantum field theory (QFT). Our numerical results indicate that the mixing is sizeable

Nuclear effects in polarized proton-deuteron Drell-Yan processes

The longitudinally polarized Drell-Yan process is one of most powerful tools to probe the structure of hadrons. By means of the recent formalism of the polarized proton-deuteron(pd) Drell-Yan, we calculate the ratio of the proton-deuteron Drell-Yan cross section to the proton-proton(pp) one Δσpd/2ΔσppΔσ_{pd}/2Δσ_{pp}in the polarized case. The theoretical results can be compared with future experimental data to confirm the nuclear effect due to the six-quark cluster in deuteron .

Sum rules on quantum hadrodynamics

The development on relativistic nuclear many-body theories is reviewed. The second order self-energies of hadrons are calculated from S^2\hat{S}_2 matrix, and then an effective method to solve nuclear many-body problems, sum rules on quantum hadrodynamics, is summarized. The differences between this method and quantum hadrodynamics are discussed. The effective nucleon mass in the nuclear matter is redefined in the relativistic Hartree approximation, and a self-consistent relativistic mean-field model based on quantum hadrodynamics 2 is proposed. It is pointed out that the original definition on effective nucleon mass in quantum hadrodynamics 2 is not self-consistent, and all the parameters in the relativistic mean-field approximation should be fixed again according to the new definition.
