A gracious exit from the matter-dominated phase in a quantum cosmic phantom model

The most recent observational constraints coming from Planck, when combined with other cosmological data, provide evidence for a phantom scenario. In this work we consider a quantum cosmic phantom model where both the matter particles and scalar field are associated with quantum potentials which make the effective mass associated with the matter particles to vanish at the time of matter-radiation equality, resulting in a cosmic system where a matter dominance phase followed by an accelerating expansion is allowed.

Quantum entanglement in the multiverse

In this paper it is shown that the quantum state of a multiverse made up of classically disconnected regions of the space-time, whose dynamical evolution is dominated by a homogeneous and isotropic fluid, is given by a squeezed state. These are typical quantum states that have no classical counterpart and, therefore, they allow us to analyze the violation of classical inequalities as well as the EPR argument in the context of the quantum multiverse. The thermodynamical properties of entanglement are calculated for a composite quantum state of two universes whose states are quantum mechanically correlated. The energy of entanglement between the positive and negative modes of a scalar field, which correspond to the expanding and contracting branches of a phantom universe, respectively, are also computed.

Quantum state of the multiverse

A third quantization formalism is applied to a simplified multiverse scenario. A well defined quantum state of the multiverse is obtained which agrees with standard boundary condition proposals. These states are found to be squeezed, and related to accelerating universes: they share similar properties to those obtained previously by Grishchuk and Siderov. We also comment on related works that have criticized the third quantization approach.

Is the 2008 NASA/ESA double Einstein ring actually a ringhole signature?

It is argued that whereas the Shatskiy single rings produced by the gravitational inner field of a spherically symmetric wormhole could not be used to identify the presence of such tunnelings in the universe or the existence of a parallel universe, the image which the inner gravitational field of a ringhole with toroidal symmetry would allow us to detect from a single luminous source is that of two concentric bright rings, and this is a signature that cannot be attributed to any other single astronomical object in whichever universe it may be placed. At the beginning of 2008 the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope revealed a never-before-seen phenomenon in space: a pair of glowing rings, one nestled inside the other like a bull's-eye pattern. It is also argued that such a discovery may well be attributed to the first astronomical ringhole found in the universe. After all, a ringhole is a perfectly valid solution to the Einstein equations and the stuff which makes it possible is becoming more and more familiar in cosmology.

Multidimensional quantum cosmic models: New solutions and gravitational waves

This paper contains a discussion on the quantum cosmic models, starting with the interpretation that all of the accelerating effects in the current universe are originated from the existence of a nonzero entropy of entanglement. In such a realm, we obtain new cosmic solutions for any arbitrary number of spatial dimensions, studying the stability of these solutions, so as the emergence of gravitational waves in the realm of the most general models.

Lorentzian wormholes generalizes thermodynamics still further

This paper deals with some thermodynamical aspects of Lorentzian wormholes, including the formulation of the three main laws and the consideration of a possible thermal emission made up of some sort of phantom radiation coming out from the wormhole at a negative temperature. In order for these topics to be consistently developed we have used a 2+2 formalism first advanced by Hayward for spherically symmetric space-times, where a generalized surface gravity is defined on the trapping horizon. Our results generalize still further those of the already generalized gravitational thermodynamics.

Thermal radiation from Lorentzian traversable wormholes

In this paper we show that, analogously to as it occurs for black holes, there exist three well-defined laws for Lorentzian wormhole thermodynamics and that these laws are related with a thermal phantom-like radiation process coming from the wormhole throat. It is argued that the existence of wormholes could be manifested by means such a radiation. These results are obtained by analyzing the Hayward formalism of spherically symmetric solutions containing trapping horizons, the phenomenon of phantom accretion onto wormholes and the development of phantom thermodynamics.

A dark energy multiverse

We present cosmic solutions corresponding to universes filled with dark and phantom energy, all having a negative cosmological constant. All such solutions contain infinite singularities, successively and equally distributed along time, which can be either big bang/crunchs or big rips singularities. Classicaly these solutions can be regarded as associated with multiverse scenarios, being those corresponding to phantom energy that may describe the current accelerating universe.

A graceful multiversal link of particle physics to cosmology

In this paper we work out a multiverse scenario whose physical characteristics enable us to advance the following the conjecture that whereas the physics of particles and fields is confined to live in the realm of the whole multiverse formed by finite-time single universes, that for our observable universe must be confined just in one of the infinite number of universes of the multiverse when such a universe is consistently referred to an infinite cosmic time. If this conjecture is adopted then some current fundamental problems that appear when one tries to make compatible particle physics and cosmology- such as that for the cosmological constant, the arrow of time and the existence of a finite proper size of the event horizon- can be solved.

Anti-de Sitter wormhole kink

The metric describing a given finite sector of a four-dimensional asymptotically anti-de Sitter wormhole can be transformed into the metric of the time constant sections of a Tangherlini black hole in a five-dimensional anti-de Sitter spacetime when one allows light cones to tip over on the hypersurfaces according to the conservation laws of an one-kink. The resulting kinked metric can be maximally extended, giving then rise to an instantonic structure on the euclidean continuation of both the Tangherlini time and the radial coordinate. In the semiclassical regime, this kink is related to the existence of closed timelike curves.

On the geometry of the Hawking Turok instanton

We discuss the coordinate complexification necessary to obtain a spatially homogeneous open universe in the singular instantonic solution recently suggested by Hawking and Turok (hep-th/9802030), concluding that only the time coordinate $σ$ of the spatially inhomogeneous De Sitter-like Lorentzian solution and its scale factor should be rotated in order to continue into a Lorentzian open universe.

Quantum gravity and the problem of measurement

We discuss some arguments in favour of the proposal that the quantum correlations contained in the pure state-vector evolving according to Schoedinger equation can be eliminated by the action of multiply connected wormholes during measurement. We devise a procedure to obtain a proper master equation which governes the changes of the reduced density matrix of matter fields interacting with doubly connected wormholes. It is shown that this master equation predicts an appropriate damping of the off-diagonal correlations contained in the state vector.

Radiation Field on Superspace

We study the dynamics of multiwormhole configurations within the framework of the Euclidean Polyakov approach to string theory, incorporating a modification to the Hamiltonian which leads to a Planckian probability measure for the Coleman parameters $α$ that allows $\frac{1}{2}α^{2}$ to be interpreted as the energy of the quanta of a radiation field on superspace whose values might still fix the coupling constants.

preprint1995arXiv

The Schwarzschild Black-Hole Pair

By allowing the lightcones to tip over according to the conservation laws of an one-kink in static, Schwarzschild metric, we show that there also exists an instanton which represents production of pairs of chargeless, nonrotating black holes with mass $M$, joined on an interior surface beyond the horizon ar $r=M$. Evaluation of the thermal properties of each of the black hole in a pair leads one to check that each black hole is exactly the antiblack hole to the other black hole in the pair. The instantonic action has been calculated and seen to be smaller than that corresponding to pair production by factors that associate with the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy and a baby universe entropy $2pi^{2}M^{2}$. This suggests these entropies to count numbers of internal states.

Quantum State of Wormholes and Topological Arrow of Time

This paper studies the time-symmetry problem in quantum gravity. The issue depends critically on the choice of the quantum state and has been considered in this paper by restricting to the case of quantum wormholes. It is seen that pure states represented by a wave functional are time symmetric. However, a maximal analytic extension of the wormhole manifold is found that corresponds to a mixed state describable by a nondegenerate density-matrix functional that involves an extra quantum uncertainty for the three-metric, and is free from the divergences encountered so far in statistical states formulated in quantum gravity. It is then argued that, relative to one asymptotic region, the statistical quantum state of single Euclidean wormholes in semiclassical approximation is time-asymmetric and gives rise to a {\it topological} arrow of time which will reflect in the set of all quantum fields at low energies of the asymptotic flat region (To appear in Int.
