We develop the method for constructing Lax representations of PDEs via the twisted extensions of their algebras of contact symmetries by generalizing the construction to the Lie--Rinehart algebras. We present examples of application of the proposed technique.
We apply the technique of twisted extensions of infinite-dimensional Lie algebras to find new 3D integrable {\sc pde}s related to the deformations of Lie algebra $\mathbb{R}_N[s]\otimes \mathfrak{w}$ with $N=1, 2$ as well as to the Lie algebra $\mathfrak{h} \oplus \mathfrak{w}$, where $\mathbb{R}_N[s]$ is the algebra of truncated polynomials of degree $N$, $\mathfrak{w}$ is the Lie algebra of polynomial vector fields on $\mathbb{R}$ and $\mathfrak{h}$ is the Lie algebra of polynomial Hamiltonian vector fields on $\mathbb{R}^2$.
We derive new Lax representations for the hyper-CR equation of Einstein--Weyl structures and for the associated integrable hierarchy.
We apply Cartan's method of equivalence to find a Bäcklund autotransformation for the tangent covering of the universal hierarchy equation. The transformation provides a recursion operator for symmetries of this equation.
We find a two-component generalization of the integrable case of rdDym equation. The reductions of this system include the general rdDym equation, the Boyer-Finley equation, and the deformed Boyer-Finley equation. Also we find a Bäcklund transformation between our generalization and Bodganov's two-component generalization of the universal hierarchy equation.
We find direct and inverse recursion operators for integrable cases of the rmdKP and rdDym equations. Also, we study actions of these operators on the contact symmetries and find shadows of nonlocal symmetries of these equations.
The method of contact integrable extensions is used to find new zero-curvature representation for Plebañski's second heavenly equation.
We find auto-Backlund transformation for the r-th double modified dispersionless Kadomtsev--Petviashvili equation.
We apply the technique of integrable extensions to the symmetry pseudo-group of the r-th mdKP equation. This gives another look on deriving known coverings and allows us to find new coverings for this equation.
