On the QQqˉqˉQQ\bar q\bar q-Quark Potential in String Models

We propose a string theory construction for the system of two heavy quarks and two light antiquarks. The potential of the system is a function of separation between the quarks. We define a critical separation distance below which the system can be thought of mainly as a compact tetraquark. The results show the universality of the string tension and factorization at small separations expected from heavy quark-diquark symmetry. Our estimate of the screening length is in the range of lattice QCD. We also make a comparison with the potential of the QQqQQq system. The potentials look very similar at small quark separations but at larger separations they differ. The reason for this is that the flattening of the potentials happens at two well-separated scales as follows from the two different mechanisms: string breaking by light quarks for QQqQQq and string junction annihilation for QQqˉqˉQQ\bar q\bar q. Moreover, a similar construction can also be applied to the QˉQˉqq\bar Q\bar Q qq system.

Some Properties of the QQqQQq-Quark Potential in String Models

We propose a string theory construction which allows us to study properties of the potential of two heavy quarks coupled to a light quark. In such a case, the potential is a function of separation between the heavy quarks. The results show the universality of the string tension and factorization at small separations expected from heavy quark-diquark symmetry. In addition, we make an estimate of the string breaking distance. With the parameter values we use, this distance is found to be almost the same as that for the heavy quark-antiquark potential. We also discuss the heavy quark-quark potential and its relation to Lipkin rule.

Baryon modes in string breaking from gauge/string duality

We consider the string breaking phenomenon within effective string models which purport to mimic QCD with two light flavors, with a special attention to baryon modes. We make some estimates of the string breaking distances at zero and non-zero baryon chemical potentials. Our estimates point towards the enhancement of baryon production in strong decays of heavy mesons in dense baryonic matter. We also suggest that the enhanced production of Λc+Λ_c^+ baryons in PbPb collisions is mainly due to larger values of chemical potential.

On Heavy-Quark Free Energies, Entropies, Polyakov Loop, and AdS/QCD

In this paper we explore some of the features of a heavy quark-antiquark pair at finite temperature using a five-dimensional framework nowadays known as AdS/QCD. We shall show that the resulting behavior is consistent with our qualitative expectations of thermal gauge theory. Some of the results are in good agreement with the lattice data that provides additional evidence for the validity of the proposed model.

On touching random surfaces, two-dimensional quantum gravity and non-critical string theory

A set of physical operators which are responsible for touching interactions in the framework of c<1 unitary conformal matter coupled to 2D quantum gravity is found. As a special case the non-critical bosonic strings are considered. Some analogies with four dimensional quantum gravity are also discussed, e.g. creation-annihilation operators for baby universes, Coleman mechanism for the cosmological constant.

On bosonization of 2d conformal field theories

We show how bosonic (free field) representations for so-called degenerate conformal theories are built by singular vectors in Verma modules. Based on this construction, general expressions of conformal blocks are proposed. As an example we describe new modules for the SL(2)SL(2) Wess-Zumino -Witten model. They are, in fact, the simplest non-trivial modules in a full set of bosonized highest weight representations of sl^2\hat {sl}_2 algebra. The Verma and Wakimoto modules appear as boundary modules of this set. Our construction also yields a new kind of bosonization in 2d conformal field theories.

Towards complex(rational) powers of free fields, generalized βγβγ systems and non-polynomial quantum field theory

The βγβγ system is generalized by complex(rational) powers of the fields, which leads to a corresponding extension on the Fock space. Two different approaches to compute the Green functions of the physical operators are proposed. First the complex(rational) powers are defined via an integral representation, that allows to compute the conformal blocks, Green functions and structure constants of OPA. Next an approach based on a system of recursion equations for the Green functions is developed. A number of solutions of the system is found. A lot of possible applications is briefly discussed.
