Optimal domain of qq-concave operators and vector measure representation of qq-concave Banach lattices

Given a Banach space valued qq-concave linear operator TT defined on a σσ-order continuous quasi-Banach function space, we provide a description of the optimal domain of TT preserving qq-concavity, that is, the largest σσ-order continuous quasi-Banach function space to which TT can be extended as a qq-concave operator. We show in this way the existence of maximal extensions for qq-concave operators. As an application, we show a representation theorem for qq-concave Banach lattices through spaces of integrable functions with respect to a vector measure. This result culminates a series of representation theorems for Banach lattices using vector measures that have been obtained in the last twenty years.

Optimal extensions for pp-th power factorable operators

Let X(μ)X(μ) be a function space related to a measure space (Ω,Σ,μ)(Ω,Σ,μ) with χΩ∈X(μ)χ_Ω\in X(μ) and let T ⁣:X(μ)→ET\colon X(μ)\to E be a Banach space valued operator. It is known that if TT is pp-th power factorable then the largest function space to which TT can be extended preserving pp-th power factorability is given by the space Lp(mT)L^p(m_T) of pp-integrable functions with respect to mTm_T, where mT ⁣:Σ→Em_T\colonΣ\to E is the vector measure associated to TT via mT(A)=T(χA)m_T(A)=T(χ_A). In this paper we extend this result by removing the restriction χΩ∈X(μ)χ_Ω\in X(μ). In this general case, by considering mTm_T defined on a certain δδ-ring, we show that the optimal domain for TT is the space Lp(mT)∩L1(mT)L^p(m_T)\cap L^1(m_T). We apply the obtained results to the particular case when TT is a map between sequence spaces defined by an infinite matrix.

Strong extensions for qq-summing operators acting in pp-convex Banach function spaces for 1≤p≤q1 \le p \le q

Let 1≤p≤q<∞1\le p\le q<\infty and let XX be a pp-convex Banach function space over a σσ-finite measure μμ. We combine the structure of the spaces Lp(μ)L^p(μ) and Lq(ξ)L^q(ξ) for constructing the new space SXp q(ξ)S_{X_p}^{\,q}(ξ), where ξξ is a probability Radon measure on a certain compact set associated to XX. We show some of its properties, and the relevant fact that every qq-summing operator TT defined on XX can be continuously (strongly) extended to SXp q(ξ)S_{X_p}^{\,q}(ξ). This result turns out to be a mixture of the Pietsch and Maurey-Rosenthal factorization theorems, which provide (strong) factorizations for qq-summing operators through LqL^q-spaces when 1≤q≤p1 \le q \le p. Thus, our result completes the picture, showing what happens in the complementary case 1≤p≤q1\le p\le q, opening the door to the study of the multilinear versions of qq-summing operators also in these cases.
