Tangle Functors from Semicyclic Representations

Let qq be a 2N2Nth root of unity where NN is odd. Let Uq(sl2)U_q(sl_2) denote the quantum group with large center corresponding to the lie algebra sl2sl_2 with generators E,F,KE,F,K, and K−1K^{-1}. A semicyclic representation of Uq(sl2)U_q(sl_2) is an NN-dimensional irreducible representation ρ:Uq(sl2)→MN(C)ρ:U_q(sl_2)\rightarrow M_N(\mathbb{C}), so that ρ(EN)=aIdρ(E^N)=aId with a≠0a\neq 0, ρ(FN)=0ρ(F^N)=0 and ρ(KN)=Idρ(K^N)=Id. We construct a tangle functor for framed homogeneous tangles colored with semicyclic representations, and prove that for (1,1)(1,1)-tangles coming from knots, the invariant defined by the tangle functor coincides with Kashaev's invariant.

The AJ-Conjecture for Cables of Two Bridge Knots

The AJAJ-conjecture for a knot K⊂S3K \subset S^3 relates the AA-polynomial and the colored Jones polynomial of KK. If a two-bridge knot KK satisfies the AJAJ-conjecture, we give sufficient conditions on KK for the (r,2)(r,2)-cable knot CC to also satisfy the AJAJ-conjecture. If a reduced alternating diagram of KK has η+η_+ positive crossings and η−η_- negative crossings, then CC will satisfy the AJAJ-conjecture when (r+4η−)(r−4η+)>0(r+4η_-)(r-4η_+)>0 and the conditions of the main theorem are satisfied.
